Greek Tv Series "Sto Para Pente" (In The Nick Of Time)
2005-2007
Self-translated, so please forgive any "greeklish" expressions.

Notes:
1️⃣ The Greek word "mari" can have many interpretations, depending on context, tone, and sometimes region. Similar English translations would be "silly”, “simpleton” “goofball”, “numpty” “dummy”, “clueless” etc. (again, always depending on context).
It’s rarely harsh and not a swear-word, however it can be a sign of impoliteness — it’s usually playful or lightly critical, not aggressive and is mainly used to give emphasis in frustration/playful resentment. Think of "bitch" but only in a playful context.
The word has not been translated in the series.

2️⃣ While the series takes place in Greece (between 2005 and 2007) a few names of places, people or cultural situations have been adapted to UK to -hopefully- provide the same comedic timing as the original.

3️⃣ "Co-mother-in-law" is a common way in Greece to address one's co-mother-in-law, and it's mostly a term used in smaller towns, villages and by older people.

4️⃣Zouboulia's co-mother-in-law's name is Marilena. However Zouboulia always mispronounces it as "Marinella". Marinella is one of the most famous Greek singers of all time and goes only by her first name (i.e Cher, Madonna, Adele etc.)
