A police constable is warded in critical condition after reportedly falling from a height at the Sangre Grande Police Station on Friday afternoon.

In other crime developments, officers seized three firearms, ammunition and significant quantities of cannabis during coordinated exercises across several divisions.

00:00A police constable attached to the Sangre Grandi Police Station remains warded in critical condition,
00:05following an incident at the station on Friday.
00:09Reports indicate the officer fell from a height on the eastern side of the compound
00:13onto a marked police vehicle around 4.30 p.m.
00:17He sustained severe head and facial injuries.
00:20The injured officer was first taken to the Sangre Grandi General Hospital
00:24and later transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex,
00:28where he remains hospitalized.
00:31Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
00:34Meanwhile, officers seized three firearms and quantities of ammunition
00:39during separate exercises this week.
00:41In the Central Division on Thursday,
00:44members of the Gang and Intelligence Unit conducted an intelligence-led search
00:47of an abandoned structure in the Jade Court area,
00:51where they found a high-powered rifle wrapped in plastic.
00:54On Friday evening, during operations in the Western Division,
00:58officers arrested a 25-year-old man in Digger Martin after he was allegedly found with a Glock 23 pistol
01:05loaded with 13 rounds of ammunition along Loperita Avenue.
01:10In the Northern Division, task force officers conducting an exercise in Kaparo around 9 p.m.
01:16discovered a revolver loaded with two rounds of ammunition concealed between sheets of galvanized.
01:22Drug operations also resulted in seizures.
01:25In the Montauk District, officers arrested a 25-year-old San Juan man who was allegedly found with 1.02
01:32kg of marijuana.
01:34And in Brazil Village, officers found 15 packets containing a total of 7.9 kg of cannabis inside a panel
01:43van.
01:43Police say investigations into all matters are continuing.
