00:00Speaking during a media briefing at the Police Administration Building in Port of Spain earlier today,
00:06TTPS Corporate Communications Manager, Joan Archie, said the guns and ammunition were lodged at about 2.47 p.m. on
00:13August 10th.
00:14A check was conducted at about 3.40 a.m. on August 11th when the firearms and ammunition were discovered
00:21missing.
00:22An investigation was immediately launched and is presently in progress.
00:28Archie was asked whether the disappearance was being treated as an administrative error.
00:34She said she had no update on that aspect of the investigation.
00:38And it may very well turn out to be administrative.
00:43However, I will allow the investigative process to take its course and we will update the public as it progresses.
00:50She was also asked whether anyone could be suspended in connection with the disappearance.
00:55Archie said those decisions on possible action would depend on what investigators found
01:01and whether there was evidence that a crime had been committed.
01:05It is actively being pursued and those decisions would be made when they would have had sufficient evidence
01:12to determine whether a crime indeed has been committed.
01:16The investigation remains continuing as of Wednesday.
