00:50Tobago Carnival has been safe for all the years, and in this 2026, it is not going to be any

01:01The police are going to be out there in our full forces to ensure that the security of the island
01:08is at the optimum level.
01:10The police leadership also noted that close collaboration is taking place with the Tobago Emergency Management Agency, TEMA, fire services,
01:20and medical teams to ensure a coordinated response to any situation that may arise.
01:26Officers have also received targeted briefings and operational planning to address crowd control, traffic management, and public order.
01:36Residents and visitors are being encouraged to play their part by adhering to the law, following instructions from security personnel,
01:44and reporting any suspicious activity.
01:47The police stress the public cooperation is critical to maintaining a safe carnival environment.
01:53Senior Superintendent of Police, Roddell Kirk, said illegal weapons would not be tolerated.
01:59Even a broken bottle is an offensive weapon, and I'm telling you that we are not going to treat with

02:07Anybody leave home, coming through to whether their intention is to harm anybody.
02:13If you are found, we are going to deal with you the fullest brunt of the law.

02:19Superintendent of Police, Mark Joseph, said officers would be on hand to respond to any untoward incidents.
02:28We have a sufficient number of officers to be deployed, would be deployed, and we have emergency parties as well,
02:39a reserve party, to treat with any untoward incidents.
02:44And for those who are bent on breaking the law, you would be arrested.
02:48They are mobile units for detention purposes and to safely take persons to various stations if arrested on our site.
