00:00Today, out of respect to the media and the population that has been following, I think that the simple message
00:05is that the Court of Appeal has considered its position on the stay pending the outcome of the appeal at
00:12the Judicial Committee.
00:13That is the apex court for Trinidad and Tobago, and we expect that to be, God willing, an approach that
00:19we will get to in the next couple of days.
00:22There are unique aspects of this case that we will ventilate before the Judicial Committee.
00:26At the end of the day, as a lawyer, I have to abide by the rule of law and by
00:30the decisions of our courts, and therefore we must just simply as attorneys work assiduously in the best interest of
00:36our clients and hope that it echoes to the benefit of others that have similar causes and concerns.
00:43And as an officer of the court, we'll have to take this in the proper processes because it's a matter
00:48of procedure, approach and discipline.
00:50Of course, time is critical in these matters, so we intend to spare no effort.
00:57We intend to push for the fruit that has been given and awarded.
01:02I mean, the Court of Appeal, in a unanimous decision, granted us something that is of benefit, which is the
01:10release of our clients.
01:12Yesterday, that did not happen, despite the fact that the court had ordered it to happen.
01:17And I think that the whole world witnessed what happened there.
