00:00Hello, very good morning to you. Later this week we'll finally be able to start to talk
00:04about something a bit different as far as the weather is concerned. But for now it's
00:08same old, same old. A next band of heavy rain moving into the south west from the word go,
00:15reaching south Wales, central southern England by lunchtime. Another band of rain setting
00:20up once again across eastern Scotland with nowhere to go. A Scandinavian cold block effectively
00:28keeping it in the same place. And it stays damp through Northern Ireland. There will be some
00:32drier weather in places. For example, parts of the East Midlands, East Anglia, the South
00:38East not so wet. North West England likewise some gaps between systems. But for the vast
00:44majority, it's just another day of rain on top of the 40 odd days of rain we've seen
00:49consecutive in some spots. With all the cloud, and there will be a lot of low cloud around
00:55as well as some mist. And the rain, it's not going to be particularly cold but it will
01:01feel unpleasant. 12 Celsius in the south west where it's going to be gusty. And 6 to 7 across
01:07North East Scotland where it will also be windy. But that wind is slightly gaining a bit more
01:13of an easterly component later Tuesday and that means that the persistent wet weather in the east
01:19of Scotland will result in some hill and mountain snow by the end of the day and more especially
01:26into Wednesday as colder air returns to the northeast. You can see that process happening
01:33as we end the day. Some of the highest routes across eastern Scotland perhaps affected by snow
01:38but at lower levels it's once again rain and significant persistent rain at that. Coming
01:44on top of some very wet weather that we've seen across eastern Scotland during the last couple of
01:48weeks could see some issues. 40 to 60 millimetres on Tuesday and similar amounts again on Wednesday
01:55in some spots. Dryer as we end the night on Tuesday night in the east of England but the next band of
02:03rain and showers moves in from the south west. Gusty winds keeping things generally frost free.
02:09Another relatively mild start to the day on Wednesday in the south but feeling colder
02:14towards the north and the east as those winds slightly change direction and bring a taste of
02:20some of that colder air across Scandinavia towards the northeast of the UK. But it is a consistently damp
02:27picture once again on Wednesday across northern England. Much of Scotland drier and brighter for
02:33northwest Scotland but not much in it. Northern Ireland also seeing some damp weather. Towards the
02:37south the southern half of the UK it showers rather than persistent rain. Some gaps between
02:44the showers as well some breaks in the cloud but some wetter weather returning to Cornwall by the end of
02:50the afternoon. All in all similar temperatures in the south colder in the northeast particularly in that
02:57biting wind from the north sea. And the snow will be falling above 300 or 400 metres by the end of Wednesday
03:05across eastern Scotland 5 to 10 centimetres in places at lower levels. It continues to be wet before
03:11eventually later this week colder air arrives and it becomes less wet for many places.
