11 December - National Morning Forecast presented by Aidan McGivern
Transcript
00:00Hello, a very good morning to you. It's a fine start for many of us this morning. A
00:05quiet interlude in between low pressure systems. Having said that, the next low isn't going
00:10to be quite as impactful as Storm Bram, but it is going to thicken up the cloud across
00:15Western and some southern parts of the country through the day, squeezing out the sunshine
00:19into the Midlands, Eastern England and freshening up the breeze. By the afternoon, Northern
00:24Ireland, Western Scotland turning damp, that rain fringing upon West Wales and Cornwall
00:29as well. So it's a downhill story for Western parts, but we keep the sunshine across some
00:36central and eastern areas, temperatures reaching 12 Celsius, relatively mild once again. Here's
00:41that weather front. It's relatively so moving, so it's gradually going to bring rain in overnight
00:46for many before only slowly peeling away from the southeast into Friday. And we start the
00:54evening with still some clear spells into the east, but clear skies also returning to Northern
00:59Ireland and Western Scotland, albeit with one or two showers. The front then straddling central
01:05parts as we go through Friday night. Some heavy bursts on it, but it's not going to be too wet.
01:11And for West Wales, the far southwest, it does turn clearer by the end of the night, where we see
01:16those clear skies. For Scotland, Northern Ireland, temperatures dipping into the low or mid single figures.
01:21So a fresh start towards the north and west. Plenty of sunshine though, first thing.
01:26It's a different story for the East Midlands into eastern England and the southeast. Here,
01:30cloudier skies. Rain fizzling away, but still a few spots around into the afternoon as that front
01:37slowly moves into the North Sea. Lighter winds for many. Plenty of blue skies. And it's another mild
01:44afternoon, but not quite as mild. 11 or 12 in the south, 8 or 9 further north. We do have blustery conditions
01:52and frequent showers returning to the far northwest. One or two showers into Northern Ireland,
01:56West Wales and the far southwest as well. Mostly around coastal parts. And Saturday itself starts
02:01off fine for many. Once again, blue skies around first thing, particularly through the Midlands,
02:06the south and southeast. And it stays bright and dry throughout much of the day here. Further northwest,
02:12it turns cloudier. It turns windier. And outbreaks of rain return once again to Scotland and Northern
02:18Ireland. Heavy and persistent, particularly over western hills. Really accumulating significantly
02:24through Saturday and into the start of Sunday. Eventually that front sinks southeastwards to bring
02:29some rain to southern and eastern areas during Sunday. But for Saturday at least, it's looking dry
02:34and bright in the south. A marked contrast compared with further northwest. Much more as ever on our
02:41YouTube channel. Make sure you subscribe so you never miss an update. Bye-bye.
