Panki (UP): A woman who entered a relationship through Facebook was allegedly murdered in Panki’s Ramganga Enclave, with police suspecting her husband in the case. The deceased, Deepika Saini, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in her rented second-floor flat, with visible injury marks suggesting strangulation.

Deep bruises were found on her neck and face, with clear thumb impressions indicating pressure on the throat. Her husband Shoaib, whom she married in October last year, is suspected to be involved and has been absconding since the incident.

According to neighbours, an argument broke out between the couple on Monday afternoon. Shoaib reportedly left the flat after the fight and returned later, breaking open the door when there was no response. He allegedly tried to revive Deepika before informing her brother and fleeing the spot.

Deepika lived with her two young sons, Rudra and Aniruddh, who were inconsolable after seeing their mother’s body. Her elderly grandmother was seen trying to comfort them.

Deepika’s mother said she had visited her earlier in the day and returned home after speaking to Shoaib on the phone. Police have sent the body for post-mortem and launched a search for the accused. Further investigation is underway.
