Caught in His Own Trap: Thief Gets Stuck in Iron Grill While Attempting Break-In in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh): In a bizarre incident, a thief got trapped in an iron grill while attempting to break into a locked house in the Shalimar Garden police station area, with a video of the incident now circulating on social media.

According to police, the family had locked their house and stepped out when the youth allegedly attempted to enter the premises. However, due to movement of people in the street, he panicked and tried to escape without committing the theft.

While attempting to flee, the accused got stuck in a narrow gap between the iron grill and the wall, leaving him unable to move. A crowd soon gathered at the spot after noticing him trapped.

Police were informed and reached the scene, following which the youth was safely rescued and taken to the police station. Officials said the boy was reportedly in an intoxicated state at the time of the incident.

Since no theft had taken place and the house owner did not file a complaint, police conducted a medical examination of the youth and later released him with a strict warning.

The unusual incident has sparked discussion in the locality, with many terming it a case of “instant karma,” as the accused got caught in an unexpected situation while attempting the theft.
