11:39deadline last year is not accurate they were about a 500 team they're in fact a little bit worse off
11:44than they are now uh the warriors were absolutely um all year last year throughout jonathan's play
11:51early in the season were rumored to be after a you know big game they're big game hunting that was
11:58that was the talk all year long i don't think jim i don't think jonathan's injury last year is what led
12:03to the acquisition of jimmy butler i think they were going to do that uh no matter what if if if the
12:09opportunity presented itself no doubt and i do think that they're going to make the same sort of move
12:13this year at the deadline and i don't know if it's going to be big game hunting but last year the
12:18roster was much like this year which is where they had too many guys that they wanted to play that they
12:23couldn't always play and so that's where they you know wound up going four for one you traded slow-mo
12:29you traded schroeder you traded wiggins and you got jimmy butler and i look at this roster and i think
12:34the same thing where you've got more guys maybe less so now with jimmy butler being out but you've got
12:38extra guys that i think other teams may want to kick the tires on and whether it's buddy and
12:45cominga but i look at a deal now that is still very much on the table um i wonder i i actually i don't
12:52know that anything was on the table i don't know how this necessarily changes it um i'm still trying
12:58to access like what is what does that do what what does that do like you you you want to make this big
13:06trade in the next two weeks for what for a guy who you actually want to play so if you play cominga
13:13tonight you don't really want to play cominga no you're only playing cominga because you feel like
13:18you have to play cominga so you're going to play cominga tonight i guess theoretically and that's
13:22what everyone says and steve says he's ready and cominga says yeah i'm good to go and whatever but
13:28you don't really want to play him if you wanted to play him you would have played him last night you
13:32would have played him before so you're in a spot now where you want to make a trade for a guy that
13:37you actually want to play and and what we've been told and what we're hearing all along is that that
13:43deal doesn't really exist either they don't want malik monk they don't want this they don't want that
13:48like we still have 16 days till the deadline so we do and and i'm not telling you that they won't
13:53trade him but i think the warriors have arrived at a spot of a bunch of i don't want to's
13:56so you got to pick your i don't want to i don't want jimmy butler to be hurt but he is right
14:01so i don't want to play jonathan cominga and we haven't since december 9th but now
14:06we're going to because we have to you trade him even if you don't like the deal i mean yes yes
14:11that's like that's that's to get a player that can actually help you and maybe it's to help you now
14:17and maybe you change the calculus now to where you get a player who maybe isn't expiring somebody who
14:23can help you now and maybe help you next year as well i get that but if that's not available i guess
14:27that's where you and i are are kind of locking horns here like if there's no good deal you sound
14:33like you want to trade him just because just to get him the hell out of here and i'm like to me
14:39that's based in fatigue on this situation which i totally get but i think that there's new info here
14:46you got to be open to in my opinion this going a different way now based on the situation and if
14:52there is no deal that is to your liking then don't do it don't do it because maybe whether likely or
15:00not maybe later on the calendar there will be based on more new information that is possible he could
15:07go out there and play well i like that's all i'm saying i'm not the warriors are not forced to do a deal
15:14just because twitter has said for a few months that they will like they're not forced to and
15:22you can go through the you know the whole season you can get to the off season and you can pick up
15:26his option you can run it back again and you know see if it works next time in year six but the whole
15:31thing to me feels a little bit like insanity where you don't want to play the player that's clear like
15:37you've had six weeks to play him and you're not playing him and now jimmy butler gets hurt and so
15:42now you're going to play him and now you're going to think that he is now the answer i get no that's
15:47disingenuous and that's not what i'm saying again if you think about i'm saying right but what i'm
15:51saying is if you think about him less as a player and more as an asset that's what i think the
15:56warriors have been doing all along and and and in the world of asset management i don't know that
16:02now's the time to strike it might be but i i kind of doubt it from what we're being told but we'll see
16:10it sounds like they don't like what's out there for him um so with that being the case play him

17:51is also not interested in uh spending tons of time developing 21 and 22 and 23 year olds he would like
17:59to go win basketball games um if you think that those days are over that's a fair opinion but i keep
18:07trying to tell everyone the warriors disagree with you so you might be right carrie but joe lake of
18:15disagrees with you mike dunleavy disagrees with you they think that they're as currently constructed
18:21they're still there's there's something on that vine and that's that's the way they're they're they're
18:28playing even without jimmy butler i mean that's where but but but that's less than 24 hours old
18:35so no i don't know what they're going to do now right i don't know i can't answer that i mean i
18:39know what they should do which is start to build toward next year and toward uh the year after that
