00:00But as I mentioned, let's get to our top story of the day. This is a very big one national story. All American former of college hoops Antonio Blakeney is among 17 basketball players that's been named in a college basketball point shaving scheme that fixed games in college hoops.
00:16And by the way, also in the Chinese Basketball Association and rigging bets, according to an indictment unsealed Thursday in Philadelphia, in fact, a very large wager placed on a Chinese basketball game, apparently in this indictment of over $150,000, which alerted authorities.
00:34The FBI began investigating this. It began in September of 2022, ran through February of 2025. There's 20 defendants being named in the indictment, several college basketball players, several schools involved as well in those games, including LaSalle and Towson, not necessarily those schools, but again, the outcomes of those games first halves as well.
00:57It's a very long indictment that has just been released. And of course, we'll talk more about this as the show goes on today and more on the show with Sam McQuillan of Legal Sports Report on tomorrow's show as well.
01:08Dustin Gawker, if you read his sub stack, you may have found out this morning that FanDuel Predicts has just expanded from five to 18 states, California, Texas, Florida and Georgia coming soon nationwide.
01:20FanDuel Predicts is expanding their reach across the country. Also, college athletes involved in playing games don't want to be involved in any prediction markets.
01:30The NCAA has asked a federal regulatory body on Wednesday to stop prediction markets from offering trades on college sports until more safeguards are in place, basically saving their athletes from this and also saving, of course, the schools from having to be potentially involved in any future allegations.
01:48Very important because there are no safeguards in place, very similar to the one that we found out earlier today.
01:54Prediction markets don't have any of this. OK, so we thought maybe we'd be leading off with the National Football League and the new head coach of the New York Giants.
02:00But with so many other stories, we got it in at 12.05 Eastern. John Harbaugh is headed to the Big Apple.
02:06He interviewed with the Giants. He's going to be among the highest paid coaches in the history of the NFL.
02:12And they didn't let him leave the building. I guess that's what happened here.
02:14And Harbaugh will be announced at some point later this week. He has not confirmed or denied anything.
02:19Also, Todd Munkin, his offensive coordinator, apparently going to be going with him to New York.
02:24Also, a surprise from college football. Dante Moore was expected to be in the top five picks in college football.
02:30The Oregon quarterback, he has elected not to enter the NFL draft.
02:34Looks like he'll take some more NIL money. Also, no word on transfer Dylan Rayola, where he may end up going.
02:40He left Nebraska committed to Oregon. So, of course, he's going to have to go somewhere else as well.
02:45In terms of the National Football League actual playoff games this week, Fred Warner says that he would like to play this week against the Seahawks.
02:52He's missed the majority of the season with an injury. He's been on IR. They opened up their practice window.
02:57Could he actually play for the 49ers this weekend? We'll wait and see.
03:01Art Rooney II, the owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers, said that the team will not entertain the idea of a rebuild,
03:09even with Mike Tomlin stepping down. And Adam Thielen, speaking of which, who played with the Steelers at the end of the season,
03:15says he's calling it quits. He's retiring from the National Football League.
03:20Last night in the NBA, the Cleveland Cavaliers needed a win badly.
03:23They got one in a blowout. 133-107. Donovan Mitchell had 35 points.
03:29Cavs win. We'll keep an eye on Darius Garland. He left with a toe injury.
03:32It's been bothering him all season long. Head coach Kenny Atkinson, after the game yesterday,
03:36saying that the Cavs have been struggling. They really needed that big win last night.
03:41Yeah, we needed to respond. That was a tough loss against Utah.
03:46Shows the character of our team. Challenged them before the game.
03:50You know, how are we going to respond after that loss?
03:53And it wasn't just a win, but how we played.
03:57You know, 41 assists on 50 main baskets, I think.
04:02It was kind of Cavs basketball, the way we moved it.
04:05And then defensively, we were good.
04:07J.A. and, you know, Eben started it and executed the game plan.
04:12I thought Don was great tonight.
04:15You know, they were collapsing the paint in the first half, and he was spraying it out.
04:19When he distributes like that, we're tough to stop.
04:22Then in the second half, it opened up a little, and he was in their paint all night.
04:30So I think he set the tone.
04:31What was different for DeAndre tonight?
04:33Yeah, he's home.
04:35I mean, I don't know, home cooking? I don't know.
04:39He was really good.
04:42When he plays like that, we're tough to beat.
04:45Meanwhile, the New York Knicks' good vibes after one win is now gone again.
04:51Jalen Brunson left with an ankle injury against the Sacramento Kings.
04:56You would think maybe the Knicks could beat them anyway, but they did not.
04:59Sacramento wins, 112-101.
05:01Knicks were 11.5-point favorites in the game, and very upset Mike Brown afterwards,
05:07chastising the defensive effort.
05:09Especially our one-on-one, our one-on-one defense was non-existent tonight because all we did was foul
05:15and send it to the free throw line.
05:16So a tough night.
05:18We've got to get ready for a tough one tomorrow, but we cannot play the way we played today.
05:24This is one of the worst, if not the worst, that I've seen us play the entire year
05:29in terms of following a game plan and keeping the game simple.
05:33Mike, when Jalen obviously leaves the game in the first quarter,
05:36what did you see from how your team responded?
05:38What happened after that?
05:41Well, we didn't respond.
05:44We didn't respond at all.
05:46I mean, again, I've got to give the Kings credit because they took it to us,
05:52and we didn't respond in any way, shape, or form.
05:58But even before Jalen got hurt, we weren't following the game plan.
06:04And, you know, I'm not sure why, but we just kind of were out there just going through the motions.
06:11And if you go through the motions in this league, it doesn't matter.
06:14You're going to get your behind kicked.
06:16And we got our behind kicked.
06:18Kawhi Leonard's resurgence continuing last night.
06:22Clippers beat the Washington Wizards 119-105, covering the big spread.
06:27Kawhi Leonard, 33 points, had a big fourth quarter as well.
06:31Ty Lue can't say enough about that effort.
06:33Every night's tough.
06:37You know, every night's tough.
06:38You know, the style of play that's now in the league, you know, of playing fast, playing with pace,
06:46getting to the next actions, sprinting the screen, slipping out, you know.
06:50So, you know, every night we've got to be prepared.
06:52And, you know, our young guy stepped up, Jordan Miller, again.
06:55I thought Yonk was really good.
06:56And so just coming off the bench to give us that energy we needed, I thought, was huge for us tonight.
07:02Especially when we didn't think we had a lot to take.
07:04I thought Kawhi was a little slow.
07:05James was a little slow.
07:07You know, KD as well.
07:08So, for our bench to come in and play the way they did was huge for us.
07:11And Nico as well.
07:14Right now, the Denver Nuggets are playing some of their best basketball and doing it without Nikola Jokic.
07:19The Nuggets beat the Mavericks 118-109.
07:21Jamal Murray had 33 points and 5 assists.
07:24In college basketball last night, a blowout for Duke.
07:27Not a surprise.
07:28They beat Cal 71-56.
07:31Out west in Berkeley, number 17 Arkansas, defeats South Carolina.
07:35Also in a blowout for John Calipari.
07:37108-74.
07:39And Michigan wins yet again, 82-72 over Washington.
07:45The Wolverines are ranked fourth in the country.
07:47And certainly will be one of the favorites to go far in the upcoming NCAA tournament.
07:52In Major League Baseball, we did have one off-season move.
07:56The hot stove is trickling a little bit.
07:57Maybe we'll get more news today.
07:59We'll see.
07:59Ranger Suarez, formerly now of the Philadelphia Phillies, signs a five-year, $130 million contract.
08:05He will pitch in Fedway Park this season for the Boston Red Sox.
08:09All right.
08:16appeared on the Digital Problems.
08:21All right.
08:21We'll hoje in the city.
08:24Let's just read it.
08:25Let's suas counties.
08:26And let's assume we're going to be a big one of those.
08:28We're going to find out the data to determine gefunden.
08:30And let's see who is so large.
08:32And what?
08:34We'll see what will happen.
08:35So hello, at the Bahamas.
