00:00and that's where we lead off today with the prediction market business as we've discussed

00:04so many times it feels like here on the show those of you unfamiliar there are companies

00:07called calci and robin hood that are offering options on sports and outcomes they've decided

00:13they're not sports betting states around the country have decided they are sports betting

00:17and another state regulator is letting its licenses know take care of it when it comes

00:23to prediction markets nevada gaming control board chair mike dreitzer authorized a memo to licensees

00:29posting wednesday with the ominous title of sports event contract are wagers so it looks like the

00:36state of nevada is not on board with these prediction markets and why are they not on board with allowing

00:41them to operate because they don't pay taxes and they're not legal in the states where sports betting

00:48is illegal story can be but those of you who want to play on calci want to play on robin hood for the

00:54time being you still can meanwhile prize picks announced an imminent return to new york of

00:58course they were out of new york in 2024 daily fantasy sports company has been awarded an

01:03interactive fantasy sports operating license by the new york state gaming commission prize picks of

01:07course is peer-to-peer dfs daily fantasy they stopped operating at the beginning of 2024 while the

01:15seattle mariners pitching was not operating at all last night seven different blue jays had rbis

01:22this was the george kirby start that you wouldn't have expected 13 to 4 toronto ends up picking up

01:28the win so this win was in seattle if you're keeping score at home seattle won the first two games

01:35in canada and then now toronto wins in seattle so maybe that's just the dynamic of the series the home

01:43team not going to win i don't know we'll see they will play game four today there's george springer of

01:48course he got off to a good start laden mcguerra of course homered john schneider talked about the

01:52offensive explosion last night hey john at least for now does the andres home run have the feeling

01:58of a series changing home run for you guys it's big swing you know i think um yeah you know i mean

02:05again we're focused on tonight and tomorrow we'll focus on tomorrow but uh yeah you know i think just

02:11kind of you know i said it during the game kind of in that situation runner at second nobody out

02:16um taking a shot you know and trying to and trying to be aggressive on kirby's fastball so

02:21you never know how the game's gonna go you never know who it's gonna be right but

02:26um really really big swing to get us going and then kind of on down the line that inning but

02:31um yeah man that was that was a big swing from andres obviously it was an unfortunate start but i

02:37came to the dugout and told the guys like you know pick me up like i got good stuff tonight and

02:42and they definitely listened um and picked me up in a huge way uh was able to go back out there in

02:48that second inning and um kind of reestablish what i wanted to do and so i felt like we even though we

02:56were down we were able to grab some momentum and this game is so much momentum based and so

03:02um we didn't really look back after that so it was awesome meanwhile dan wilson being questioned

03:07of course on the pitching and specifically george kirby who was left in to give up several

03:11runs here's wilson the manager of the mariners talking about keeping kirby in dan obviously not

03:18what you wanted to see from george uh can you walk us through what you were seeing from him and

03:22when did you think you needed to pull the string on it do you regret not going earlier um i think you

03:28know uh i thought came out one of the best fastballs we've seen the first couple innings

03:32um and uh you know i thought the way it was coming out of his hand he looked great and then um you

03:38know they were able to get to some pitches on the plate a little bit uh and and in that third inning

03:42and then you know it was you know i think it was four two out runs there at that point um you know and

03:48and trying to you know get him through that and uh because he was throwing the ball so well um but uh you

03:55know this is a team that has swung the bat well all year and and uh they they didn't miss much

04:00tonight and uh you know they were able to get to him game four will be this evening 8 33 eastern so

04:07you're going to have to pick either football or baseball to watch tonight and by the way how about

04:12the starter for the toronto blue jays tonight very familiar with the postseason washington nationals

04:17world series champion although he played on the mets after that and the rangers after that

04:20and he moved around max scherzer gets the start tonight he's plus money plus 118 luis castillo

04:27clearly the better pitcher over the course of the regular season and scherzer hasn't been all that

04:32healthy the last few years but scherzer starts tonight should be a fun watch meanwhile brewers

04:36take on the dodgers tonight as well this is a 608 eastern time game with the dodgers monster favorites

04:43brewers haven't decided who's going to start yet there is some speculation it could be jacob

04:46mizerowski tyler glass now starts for the dodgers and they're in the brewers are in the same position

04:51that the blue jays were in yesterday they have to win this game and they go down 0-3 they're not

04:54going to win the series okay tonight it is the battle of the old men quarterbacks as aaron rogers

05:00takes on joe flacco that's the backdrop and expect to see a lot of that on amazon prime tonight

05:04steelers minus five and a half on the road at cincinnati total of 44 and a half steelers are playing

05:08great football bengals aren't winning any games doesn't matter who's at quarterback but you never

05:13know last thursday rams took on the 49ers rams were at home 49ers had no one 49ers win the game

05:18cnfl to a tug of ilo is back in the news again my gosh every day something that he says well i guess

05:25he recognized that he probably shouldn't have called out his teammates talking about team meetings

05:29immediately after a game he apologized yesterday in front of the media they they know my heart they

05:36know that the intent was right but no matter the intent um you know the intent can be right but

05:44when things get misconstrued or however the media wants to portray it you know that that leaves a

05:53void of of silence and a lot of questions for the guys on our team now being one in five you know we

06:00talk a lot about all right we we got to get this going we got to get this going come in excited to go

06:05to work forget about the noise and i feel like i i just added on to that for for our guys um you

06:14know for for myself i got to look at myself as as the leader protecting the team i don't feel like i

06:20i did that to the best of my abilities i felt like i let the emotions of the game get to me after the game

06:27and uh you know that's something that i can learn from as a leader on this team and what happens in

06:34house should be protected and none of that should have gotten out and so i want to publicly apologize

06:40about that i want to move forward and now i want to focus on cleveland browns good that he blamed the

06:46media there for all of that as if the media perpetrated him saying that after the game on sunday

06:51okay jj mccarthy is probably not going to play it looks this week like there's another start coming

06:57for carson wentz his ankle not a hundred percent the vikings are back after the bye week no firm

07:03decisions made but the coach and the quarterback talked about the possibility yesterday where do

07:08things stand as far as your starting qb for sunday they stand in the same place they did monday

07:14when i answered that question

07:15how are you handling practice in terms of reps between carson and jj yeah they're both uh both

07:24going to get work both going to get reps and um very much looking forward to our whole team getting

07:31back out there it's really hard to say if they slipped just because my ankle isn't 100 so it's like

07:38you know you're battling that mental hurdle you're battling you know how inhibited am i to perform

07:43a certain movement so it's really hard to say if it slipped or not but you know it's one of those

07:48things where it's just a seesaw for the rest of your career so it's going to be fine tuning

07:52regardless of you know how well you perform or how well you don't so meanwhile the surface has come

07:58under some fire in pittsburgh players expressing that they got to get that stadium fixed the turf

08:05fixed we've heard this for years nothing's going to change in pittsburgh we got a college game this

08:08week too all right lebron james expected to return around mid-november it was diagnosed initially i think

08:13with sciatica that's like a nerve issue so he's going to be out probably for approximately a month

08:18jason kidd uh hasn't quite said what's going to happen with their first overall pick cooper flag
