00:00But as we mentioned, a very big name and arguably the best name currently on the tennis tour, Carlos Alcaraz
00:08on Tuesday says he is out from Wimbledon because of his wrist injury that he suffered at the Barcelona Open
00:13last month.
00:14Alcaraz will also miss the French Open, saying that his recovery is going well, feeling better, but not ready to
00:20be able to play.
00:21And so he's out from this summer's Wimbledon tournament.
00:24So naturally, this gives Yannick Sinner and some others a chance to capture a title.
00:29Meanwhile, Rasheed Rice apparently is having to learn the lesson the hard way.
00:33He has violated his probation and now has been sentenced to 30 days in jail.
00:38The Chiefs wide receiver can't participate in OTAs and even had a cleanup surgery on his knee.
00:44He was supposed to miss a couple of months.
00:45He says he'll be ready for training camp, but who even knows at this point the future of Rice Cloudy
00:50after his suspension and now violation of probation this week.
00:54Meanwhile, good news for the New York Yankees.
00:56They lost Max Freed, but their replacement's a pretty good one.
00:59Garrett Cole's going to return on Friday to the Bombers.
01:02Aaron Boone made the announcement.
01:04Last game that he pitched was October 30th, 2024.
01:08Yes, that's right.
01:09It has been a year and a half since we've seen Cole pitch, and he'll do so on Friday night.
01:14Also, big news from the NBA.
01:16Before we get to the score last night, Jason Kidd is looking for a new head coaching gig.
01:21He's out as Mavericks head coach, and he's going to be paid for several years despite not coaching his record.
01:27How about this?
01:28With Dallas, 205 and 205.
01:31205 wins, 205 losses.
01:33They have a new president, Masai Ujiri, and he said that he just simply wanted to make a change.
01:38Of course, they fired their general manager after trading Luka Doncic last season.
01:42All right, now let's get to it.
01:44Last night, this was a crazy finish in the NBA, one of the better games we've seen in years.
01:48The Knicks were down 22 points.
01:50They come all the way back to beat the Cavs in overtime.
01:53And by the way, somehow covered the six and a half point spread.
01:56What a bad beat if you had Cleveland yesterday.
01:58Analytically, the Cavaliers had a 99.9% chance of winning with eight minutes to go.
02:05But Jalen Brunson said not so fast.
02:07He had 38 points, five rebounds, and six assists.
02:12Mike Brown and Kenny Atkinson trying to somehow put into words the finish of this one.
02:19I've got to give my group credit.
02:22They've been resilient all year.
02:25And I don't know if I've seen that in a playoff game.
02:28I don't know if I've been a part of it.
02:30Maybe I have.
02:31But to be down 18, 19, 20, whatever we were down, and to find a way to come back and
02:38win.
02:38And, I mean, I take my hat off to my group.
02:42You know, Cleveland, they were shooting the ball well.
02:44They were turning us over.
02:46They were getting the ball in the pocket and taking advantage of us.
02:51And we just found a way.
02:53We found a group of five guys that went out there, ended up getting stops, and, you know, scoring the
02:59basketball.
03:00I thought they hit some really tough shots in that fourth quarter.
03:03You know, those two threes, prayer threes, and the shot clock.
03:07And we got a little unlucky, quite honestly.
03:10You know, Brunson obviously took over at the end.
03:13And, you know, we started double teaming them and try to do some different things.
03:18But, listen, I'm super proud of the way our group played.
03:22We played great basketball tonight for, you know, three quarters.
03:28You know, unfortunately, fourth quarter, you know, they, you know, they dominated us in the fourth quarter.
03:38That is a fair way to put it.
03:40Dominating in the end.
03:41Meanwhile, Jalen Brunson, Carl Anthony Towns, they get the Knicks to a game one victory in overtime.
03:47Here they were postgame talking about that special feeling.
03:50For all three of you, can you talk about what it was like to be a part of what seemed
03:55like a May miracle at the Garden?
03:58I mean, you know, it's always special when you give your fans something to cheer for.
04:04And for us to, you know, it's been a tough go-around for them for the first three quarters of
04:09the game.
04:10And for us to come in that huddle and, you know, with the energy of the fans and the fans
04:15really showing us so much love and support
04:17to give them something to cheer for in the fourth, it's always an honor.
04:23It's a privilege to be able to do.
04:26And, you know, this team, all we want to do is make the city proud and bring the city wins.
04:30And to be able to accomplish that tonight in a night where it didn't seem like it was going to
04:34happen is an honor.
04:36And it's truly something special.
04:39And Gilbert McGregor will be along to preview Western Conference Game 2 coming up in just a few minutes.
04:44Meanwhile, a big surprise.
04:46Mason Miller apparently is human.
04:49The Dodgers beat him yesterday.
04:50They came back in the ninth to win 5-4.
04:52Andy Pajas hit a sacrifice fly off Miller to beat the Dodgers.
04:57And Manny Machado hit a homer.
04:59So did Miguel Andujar.
05:01So that was picking up the natural slack here offensively.
05:05Here is Dave Roberts on Pajas' sack fly, not slack, but sack fly to beat all-world closer Miller.
05:14I think the work, you know, that he's put in, I think, kind of showed itself right there.
05:19But I think at the end of the day, it was just fight.
05:21You know, it was just will, determination.
05:25And, you know, that's why, you know, for me, it's just kind of the compete and not worrying about mechanics
05:31and, you know, this and that.
05:34It's just me versus you.
05:35And it was him versus Mason Miller.
05:37And he wasn't going to lose that battle.
05:39And Mason's the best in the game right now.
05:41And, you know, Andy was going to, he willed himself to do something productive in that bat.
05:47All right.
05:48Another big story in baseball has to be the red-hot Tampa Bay Rays.
05:51Does this team ever lose?
05:53I mean, almost never.
05:54They beat Baltimore 4-1.
05:56They're 32-15 on the season.
06:0017 games above .500 and have won eight straight series.
06:05Richie Palacios, one for three with a base hit.
06:08And the Rays are clicking, says Palacios.
06:10Eight straight series win.
06:1217 games over .500.
06:1312-2 against your division, Richie.
06:15What's allowed this group to click so well?
06:17We've just been grinding, man.
06:19We're working and we're pulling for each other.
06:20We love each other.
06:21Putting good at-bats together.
06:22Our arms are doing well.
06:23Everybody's doing amazing.
06:24So we've got to stick with it.
06:26Rays are playing good baseball.
06:27So are the Brewers.
06:28They beat the Cubs again.
06:30Chicago has now lost four straight games.
06:32Brewers win as road favorites.
06:33Jake Mizorowski, six innings pitched, eight strikeouts.
06:36He's now up to 24 and one-third scoreless innings.
06:40And the Cubs are needing a reset, says Ian Happ.
06:43Yeah.
06:44No, I think every year has periods like that.
06:46I do think that, you know, if we had the same record we had today,
06:50but we just won every single series, it would feel a little bit different,
06:54a little bit more consistent.
06:55And, you know, there's pros and cons to, you know,
06:59winning 10 straight twice and, you know, having the record we have.
07:02But I think when you reflect on the whole thing, you know,
07:06we're whatever it is, 12 games over 500 or something like that,
07:09and sitting in a good spot.
07:11If you would have told us this was going to be a record at this point in the season,
07:13I think everybody would have signed up for it.
07:15So move on from here and attack tomorrow.
07:19And meanwhile, the A's can't be stopped.
07:22Still in first place out west, they beat the Angels 14-6.
07:25Nick Kurtz had three hits and five runs driven in.
07:29The Phillies, meanwhile, beat the, or lost to the Reds by a final of 4-1.
07:32It's been all Chase Burns this season.
07:34He's been the de facto ace of Cincinnati.
07:36Six innings pitched and nine strikeouts.
07:39Here is Terry Francona on his de facto ace, Burns, in the month of May.
07:43Days where we've been kind of up against it,
07:45and he's gone out there and given us what we needed.
07:49Or, you know, I mean, he's been really good.
07:53He's a young, a lot like Sal.
07:56He's good, he's young, and he's learning fast.
07:58And we appreciate that.
08:01Stanley Cup Western Conference Finals also continue tonight.
08:04It will be Las Vegas and Colorado as they begin Game 1.
08:08Naturally, everyone excited to see how the Montreal Habs do
08:11in the Eastern Conference Finals,
08:13which I believe begins tomorrow night, if I'm not mistaken.
08:17Welcome back to Newswire here on Sports Grid.
08:19In case you missed it last night,
08:21it was a game for the ages in the National Basketball Association
08:24as the New York Knicks come all the way back from 20 points down,
08:2722 to be exact, to defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers.
08:31The final score last night was 115-104.
08:35If you went to bed early, you really missed a fantastic finish.
08:38So what happened in this one?
08:39Of course, partially due to the success of Jalen Brunson,
08:43and Brunson, of course, coming through in the big games,
08:45had 38 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists.
08:49Mikel Bridges had 18 points and 5 rebounds.
08:52Carl Anthony Towns with a double-double, 13-13.
08:54Now, on the Cleveland side, Donovan Mitchell had 29-5,
08:58but the player in particular that came under some criticism
09:01was James Harden, who had just 15 points
09:03and also struggled on the defensive side of the ball.
09:08But first, let's recap the game and hear from the head coaches.
09:10Mike Brown and Kenny Atkinson, as the game went into overtime,
09:15and somehow not only did the Knicks win,
09:17but they ended up covering the spread.
09:19Here's Brown.
09:19I've got to give my group credit.
09:23They've been resilient all year.
09:26And I don't know if I've seen that in a playoff game.
09:29I don't know if I've been a part of it.
09:31Maybe I have.
09:32But to be down 18, 19, 20, whatever we were down,
09:36and to find a way to come back and win.
09:40I mean, I take my hat off to my group.
09:43You know, Cleveland, they were shooting the ball well.
09:45They were turning us over.
09:47They were getting the ball in the pocket and taking advantage of us.
09:52And we just found a way.
09:53We found a group of five guys that went out there,
09:56ended up getting stops and, you know, scoring the basketball.
10:00I thought they hit some really tough shots in that fourth quarter.
10:05You know, those two threes, prayer threes, end of shot clock.
10:07I think we got a little unlucky, quite honestly.
10:11You know, Brunson obviously took over at the end.
10:14And, you know, we started double teaming them and try to do some different things.
10:19But, listen, I'm super proud of the way our group played.
10:23We played great basketball tonight for, you know, three quarters.
10:29You know, unfortunately, fourth quarter, you know,
10:34they, you know, they dominated us in the fourth quarter.
10:38Yeah, no doubt the Knicks were lucky to get that win,
10:41but they played great at the end of the game.
10:42Let's bring in Sam McQuillen from Legal Sports Report
10:45with the very latest on sports betting and prediction markets
10:47going on across the United States and abroad.
10:49Sam, welcome back to the show.
10:51Let's get started with the update in Minnesota.
10:53Minnesota says no more prediction markets for us.
10:56You got to get out.
10:58And the response is the CFTC jumping in.
11:01So who ends up winning this battle?
11:02Will it be the prediction markets or the CFTC?
11:05Because a landmark case could be in store.
11:08Yeah, if I had to pick a winner in this battle, Craig,
11:11it would probably be the lawyers on both sides
11:13because they're definitely really busy.
11:15All of these fights between the states,
11:17Koushi, Polymarket, and now the federal agency,
11:20which is supposed to oversee these companies.
11:22Minnesota passed its law, the first law of its kind,
11:26banning prediction markets in the state,
11:28including sports event contracts,
11:30which have become very popular as sort of an alternate method of wagering,
11:34especially in states like Minnesota,
11:36where sports betting is not legal yet.
11:38And Minnesota passed this law,
11:40effectively banning those platforms from the state.
11:43The CFTC responded just one day later,
11:46filing a lawsuit to block the state from doing that.
11:50They called it a flagrant and unprecedented incursion
11:52into their regulatory authority.
11:54The CFTC has maintained that these sports prediction markets
11:57are, in fact, not sports betting, but financial derivatives,
12:00which they are supposed to regulate under law.
12:03The states don't want these products in their states.
12:06So this is what's happening now.
12:07You have six lawsuits between the CFTC and Minnesota.
12:12Whether or not there'll be a winner in that lawsuit anytime soon
12:15remains to be seen.
12:17It's, you know, one of a number of not even those lawsuits,
12:19but you also have Koushi and Polymarket and Robinhood
12:22with their lawsuits as well.
12:24You've had about 20 states in total kind of take action.
12:26So these lawsuits could take a long time to play out.
12:30It's believed by many that ultimately the Supreme Court
12:32will have to decide on this matter,
12:34whether or not these are indeed financial trading instruments,
12:38or these are actually sports betting products,
12:41which the state should be free to govern.
12:43And so that's the heart of the issue right here.
12:46The CFTC certainly has had a lot,
12:48or spent a lot of energy defending its right
12:51to oversee these products.
12:52We are still yet to see any formal rules from the CFTC
12:55actually governing what these products can do.
12:58You've had several leagues like the NFL, the NBA, the MLB,
13:02asking for similar style to sportsbook protections
13:05to make sure that you can't offer markets
13:07on problematic things like officiating or injury decisions.
13:11So it's just kind of another development
13:13in this crazy saga we've been talking about now
13:15for over a year.
13:17And we'll see, you know,
13:18when push comes to shove in these courts,
13:20but it could take a while
13:21before we have any actual real winners and losers
13:24and rulings in this whole thing.
13:26Read more at legalsportsreport.com,
13:29including this next story
13:30that Sam and I are going to break down,
13:32which is quite frankly a surprising one to me.
13:34If you think back in terms of sports betting,
13:37before it was legalized,
13:38imagine one of these offshore books,
13:40Sam saying, well, your player got hurt,
13:42you can have the money back.
13:43And so here we are with potentially the state of New York saying,
13:48yeah, that's the way that you should operate.
13:50A player gets hurt, you got to avoid the bet.
13:53I am stunned, Sam, to hear this happening
13:55because it sort of, you know,
13:56makes it possible for a lot of people
13:58to probably place more haphazard bets.
14:01And if something ends up happening,
14:03they're going to be like, well,
14:04I know that I don't have to take a loss here.
14:06I am surprised.
14:08Yeah, it's a very surprising bill
14:09to pop out of also a surprising state like New York.
14:12You know, whenever they pass a bill
14:14or really pay attention to anything in sports betting,
14:16other states tend to notice as well.
14:18So I'm also surprised, Craig, to see this bill,
14:21which would create a formal fair play policy
14:23for all sports books to follow in the state,
14:27agreeing on situations where bets
14:29either have to be adjusted, refunded, or voided,
14:32which includes injuries, but is not limited to it.
14:35It could also include whether a player
14:36is a late scratch in a game,
14:38whether the sporting event itself is canceled or suspended,
14:41and dealing with statistical errors and stat corrections.
14:45You know, sometimes someone is awarded a rebound.
14:47You didn't actually get the rebound
14:48or an assist counts as an assist
14:50that shouldn't have those sorts of things.
14:52And, you know, sports books already have their house rules,
14:54which they write themselves, get approved by the state,
14:57and they're required to follow
14:59in case any of these kinds of situations happen.
15:01So it seems like this bill would just create
15:03kind of another layer of universal protections
15:07that all sports books agree to in the state.
15:09But it is very, you know, it's a far departure
15:12from the days of, you know, sports books pushing the idea
15:15that, you know, if a player gets injured
15:16and you took the over on their bet,
15:18that's just kind of part of the risk
15:20or part of the risk you assume when placing that bet.
15:23We've certainly seen, you know, as sports betting grows,
15:26a lot of people pushing for or advocating
15:29for the bets to get refunded when injuries happen.
15:32And we've even seen some sports books, you know,
15:34create their own injury policies where your bet will get refunded
15:37if a player gets hurt in the first quarter
15:39or other sports books offer, you know, injury insurance,
15:42those sort of things as more promotional kind of ventures.
15:46But now you have a state actually focusing
15:47on making this part of its law
15:49and pushing it on the sports books themselves.
15:52So it's not too concrete in how it's developed right now.
15:55It's kind of, you know, very, you know,
15:57a vague outline of how it would work.
15:59So I'm really interested to see how it might develop more
16:01throughout, you know, the legislative process in New York,
16:04which certainly has a lot of other things
16:05on its plate right now.
16:07So very interesting that this is one of them.
16:09Sam, let's close it out here
16:10with this new potential act called the Game Act,
16:14which prohibits social media companies and websites
16:16from targeting minors with sports betting ads.
16:19Naturally makes a lot of sense here,
16:22but can they push something like this through?
16:25Yeah, that's the big question.
16:27You know, we've had a number of laws like this
16:30proposed in Congress on a national level
16:32to restrict, to, you know, better safeguard sports betting,
16:36especially advertising towards minors,
16:38which is a big concern.
16:39Those bills have not really gone anywhere so far.
16:42It's been largely messaging actions.
16:44This bill would make it illegal for a sports book
16:47or a social media company or a website
16:49to target anyone under the age of 18
16:53with a sports betting ad.
16:54How that's actually going to be enforced is a big question,
16:57which probably goes into whether or not
16:59this will actually get passed.
17:02Under the law, the Federal Trade Commission
17:04would be tasked with regulating this and overseeing this,
17:08but it's kind of hard to tell how they would figure out
17:11if an ad was specifically targeted to a minor or not.
17:14But hopefully we get some more details
17:15as the bill keeps developing through the process.
17:18And if it doesn't, it's just another one of those big,
17:20you know, messaging platforms
17:23on a really important topic right now.
17:25So we'll keep watching and monitoring.
17:28All right, Sam, you're wearing blue, I see, for your Knicks.
17:30Good job there.
17:31We'll catch up again.
17:32Thanks for coming on.
17:33Appreciate it.
17:35Dustin Gawker up next.
17:39Dustin Gawker is with us.
17:41Of course, you can catch his sub stack
17:42and certainly all of his podcasts and appearances
17:45on different networks like CNN,
17:47Talking Prediction Markets, as he covers them.
17:49Dustin, great to have you back here on Newswire.
17:51My understanding is there was a sports betting
17:54and prediction market hearing this morning.
17:57So tell us more about the Senate
17:59and certainly if there was anything that you learned from it,
18:01which seems to be a lot of people feel one way,
18:04a lot of people feel another way,
18:05and then we just keep moving on
18:06with prediction markets being alive.
18:09Yeah, I'm not sure how much we learned from it,
18:11but it is interesting.
18:12Senate Commerce Committee,
18:13one of their subcommittees held a hearing just this morning,
18:16just wrapped up a little, like half an hour or so ago,
18:18called No Sure Bets, Protecting Sports Integrity in America.
18:21Now, it sounds a lot like a hearing
18:23that's going to be about sports betting, right?
18:25And it was, and it is about integrity,
18:27but most of that hearing was spent
18:29talking about prediction markets
18:30and how some of the members of the Senate
18:33who are on this committee
18:34don't really like prediction markets
18:35and what's happening with them.
18:37That was, I'd say, the overarching theme
18:39of this hearing that was going on.
18:42And most of the members seem not to like it, right?
18:45That is, we saw Senator Ted Cruz
18:47kind of equate prediction markets to sports betting.
18:50We had folks from Nevada, New Mexico,
18:53states that do not like prediction markets,
18:55kind of usurping their sports betting industries.
18:57They were pretty negative on prediction markets.
19:00So the most interesting data point
19:01is just that senators are interested in this topic.
19:04You know, the answers we heard,
19:06we heard from the American Gaming Association,
19:08we heard from the Coalition for Prediction Markets,
19:10and other folks, and not to dismiss
19:13what these people say,
19:13but we've heard these answers before.
19:15They talk about these things.
19:16I know the answers before they give them.
19:18And that's interesting.
19:19But again, the most interesting data point
19:21is that senators are talking about this
19:22and very concerned about prediction markets
19:24in a way that they weren't three to four months ago.
19:27So, you know, I listened to this hearing
19:29and, you know, the question is,
19:31does this become more than just chatter?
19:33People like to talk about things on Capitol Hill.
19:35Does this turn into something meaningful?
19:38The Senate has passed a resolution
19:40banning senators and their staff
19:41from trading on prediction markets,
19:43but does all this negative energy
19:45and kind of desire to rein all this in,
19:48does that turn into material action
19:50by the Senate, by Congress?
19:52I'm pretty skeptical of that, as always.
19:54But again, if we were handicapping this,
19:56I would have said no chance,
19:57like heading into 2026.
19:58And now the Senate
20:00and a lot of members of Congress
20:01are very interested in this topic.
20:03So we'll have to wait and see
20:04what becomes of this.
20:05But the Senate hearing
20:06is a step along that path.
20:08Okay, fair enough.
20:09We'll see.
20:10All right.
20:10So Calci apparently has joined the NCPG
20:13to become the first financial services
20:16and trading category member
20:17to advance trader health and safety.
20:20But hold on here.
20:22I thought that this was for the gaming companies.
20:26It's, yeah, I mean,
20:27gambling's there in the name, right?
20:29It's part of what's the National Council
20:31on Problem Gambling does.
20:32But Calci has found a way to thread the needle
20:35to be involved and try to be proactive.
20:37And I'd applaud this, right?
20:40Calci and prediction markets
20:41have tried to avoid the gambling moniker
20:44as much as possible for legal reasons.
20:47We've talked about ad nauseum on this show.
20:50But they're embracing it and saying,
20:53you know what?
20:53These things can be addictive,
20:55even if it's not quote unquote gambling
20:57in the traditional sense
20:59that we should be working on this.
21:00So they made a donation of $2 million
21:02to the NCPG.
21:04They've created a new,
21:05this new category about financial services.
21:08And, you know, again, good.
21:10Let's do that.
21:11Because just saying this isn't gambling
21:13is not sustainable.
21:14You know, it's not,
21:15it's going up to the line, right?
21:17It's not saying it's gambling,
21:19but it's partnering with a group
21:20whose goal is to help people
21:22with problem gambling, right?
21:24So I'm not, like, people will poo-poo this,
21:26but I'm going to say this is good.
21:28You know, Calci has been resistant,
21:30but is trying to do something.
21:32It would be great if we just said it's gambling
21:34and we're able to admit that.
21:36But short of that,
21:37I'm not going to say that
21:38being involved with the NCPG is a bad thing.
21:40So I hope other prediction markets do that.
21:43I hope everybody kind of realizes
21:44there's harm that can come from this
21:46and that we do something about it
21:47and not just kind of wash it away
21:49and say, oh, it's just like
21:50the stock market's investing.
21:51It's not those things.
21:52It is, you know,
21:53the number that we repeat all the time,
21:5585 to 90% right now
21:57of activity at prediction markets
21:59is on sports event contracts,
22:01basically sports betting.
22:03And, you know, that is,
22:04there's harm that comes with that.
22:05And acknowledging that
22:06and dealing with that reality,
22:07I think, is a really important step.
22:09All right, Dustin,
22:10story of the week in sports media,
22:12without a doubt.
22:13Sports Illustrated,
22:14which has certainly undergone
22:15some transformations
22:17beyond what we could have imagined
22:18five, 10 years ago,
22:20apparently deleted a writer's profile
22:22over some AI plagiarism,
22:25which was just crazy.
22:26When I read the story,
22:27I actually had to read it twice.
22:28So tell people exactly
22:30what happened here.
22:31And as you can see,
22:32the accountability seems to be zero,
22:35right, at this point?
22:36Like, it's just media.
22:37It just goes away.
22:39Yeah, it's weird.
22:40And so this intersects
22:41with prediction markets
22:42because, yeah,
22:42there's this great story
22:43by Dan Bernstein
22:44over at Sportico
22:45about how much activity
22:46is going on at CalShe
22:47around parlays.
22:48And he spent a lot of time
22:50doing this.
22:50He dug into data.
22:51This is not publicly available stuff.
22:54It came from a lot of research.
22:56The data is public,
22:57but it's hard to get to.
22:58So his story needs to be cited
23:01and linked anytime you are doing this.
23:03You can't just say,
23:04oh, this is out there.
23:05So anyway, SI,
23:07which has been standing up
23:08this prediction markets vertical
23:10in terms of content,
23:11basically just wrote a whole story
23:13about parlays at CalShe
23:14and doesn't at all
23:15acknowledge Dan's work,
23:17doesn't link to it,
23:18doesn't do anything.
23:19And then everybody,
23:20everybody like Dan sees this.
23:21I see this
23:22because we follow everything
23:23that's going on
23:23in prediction markets world.
23:24And we're like,
23:25what the heck is going on here?
23:27You got it.
23:27You got to cite Dan's work.
23:28And so the story goes away.
23:30The author's profile disappears.
23:34And, you know,
23:35this becomes a media story now
23:37instead of a prediction market story,
23:38which is fascinating,
23:39awful announcing
23:39a lot of other futurism,
23:41a lot of other outlets
23:42pick this up.
23:43And this is like part of,
23:44you know,
23:45the downfall,
23:46I guess,
23:46of SI is that
23:47it used to be a trusted brand.
23:48And now,
23:49you know,
23:49it just publishes stuff
23:50without,
23:51you know,
23:51citing links
23:52and doing all that,
23:53which is just terrible
23:54for journalism in general.
23:55And,
23:55you know,
23:56you and I
23:57who grew up with Sports Illustrated
23:58being like the end boss
24:00of sports journalism
24:01is now reduced to this,
24:02to publishing stuff
24:03and not editing it
24:04and,
24:05you know,
24:05just,
24:05you know,
24:06ripping people off.
24:06And it's,
24:07it's kind of a shame.
24:08It is.
24:09All right.
24:09Let's get to an interesting
24:10prediction here for Cal sheet,
24:12Dustin,
24:12as we close it out.
24:15Yeah,
24:15we can bet on the weather,
24:16right?
24:17Craig,
24:17is it going to be,
24:18how hot is it going to be
24:19in Miami?
24:19I'm going to place a bet
24:20on this right now
24:21on Cal sheet.
24:2386.
24:2586.
24:2663% of people think
24:27it's going to be
24:28between 88 and 89 degrees
24:30tomorrow.
24:31You can bet on lots of weather
24:32at prediction markets
24:33and lots of major
24:34metropolitan areas.
24:35We talked about the one
24:36in France
24:37where,
24:37you know,
24:38somebody was trying
24:38to get over on it
24:40over on Polymarket.
24:41But,
24:41you know,
24:42if you want to bet
24:42on something other than sports,
24:43you can bet on the weather.
24:44It's good fun.
24:45There you go.
24:46I'm glad the Marlins
24:47have a dome.
24:4786 would not work well
24:49for this,
24:50this forehead here.
24:52Thanks again,
24:53Dustin.
24:53I appreciate it.
24:54Have a good week.
24:55Thanks again.
24:56Cheers,
24:57Craig.
