00:00So let's get right to it. We'll start off with a couple of trades and releases in the National
00:05Football League. The first one you may have heard of, this is David Montgomery. The Houston Texans
00:10have acquired the running back from the Detroit Lions for a fourth and seventh round pick and an
00:15offensive lineman, Juice Scruggs. Montgomery over the weekend was rumored to have asked for a trade
00:21and he ends up getting it. So with essentially no great starting running back in Houston,
00:26you would assume Montgomery becomes the RB1 there. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs look like
00:32they're going to release offensive tackle Juwan Taylor, who they signed to an extension a couple
00:37of years ago. That will save them $20 million. He had one year remaining on a four-year $80 million
00:42deal. He won a Super Bowl with the Chiefs a couple of seasons ago. Also, the Texans making news over
00:48the weekend in terms of trade. They traded Titus Howard, their offensive lineman, to the Cleveland
00:53Browns in exchange for a fifth round pick. Browns are signing Howard to an extension of $63 million.
00:59He was drafted by Houston and spent the last seven years there as the Texans are tinkering
01:03with their offensive line. Meanwhile, the NFL also announced this weekend that they're
01:08going to have a salary cap over $300 million per team in the 2026 season. This represents a $22 million
01:16increase from the 2025 salary cap, which was $279.2 million last season. NFL free agency,
01:24by the way, begins next week. And as you can see, there's been significant movement with the salary
01:29cap over the years. So we'll keep an eye on free agency as we begin with that next week.
01:34All right. Heading into the college basketball's NCAA tournament and the conference tournament,
01:40looks like USC could be on the outside looking in. Chad Baker-Mazzara, arguably their top scorer,
01:46announced on Sunday, USC, that they are kicking him off the team. Mazzara left early in the second
01:51half and USC's home loss to Nebraska following a hard fall after he blocked a shot. He told
01:56Eric Musselman that he couldn't return to the game. He's their head coach.
02:00The Associated Press says that they have nothing to add to this time, but a lot of reports out in
02:05Los
02:05Angeles said that Baker-Mazzara had issues with the coaching staff and the school. And so he is no
02:10longer on the squad. Meanwhile, Michael Jordan, great basketball player, great owner in NASCAR as
02:16well. Apparently, Tyler Reddick wins the Circuit of Americas, becomes the first driver in NASCAR Cup
02:21series history to win their first three races of the season. Reddick has been awesome. He also won
02:26the Daytona 500 and Autotrader 400. And again, he races for team Michael Jordan. Here is Reddick
02:32celebrating after the affair. All right, now let's get to the latest in the National Football League
02:41as far as the Minnesota Vikings are concerned. They could be potentially looking at releasing
02:47running back Aaron Jones after two seasons, along with defensive tackle Javon Hargrave. In 2024,
02:55Jones set career highs and touches, carries, offensive snaps, and rushing yards, but only played 12 games
03:00last season. ESPN also reports that the Vikings could be on the outside looking in at a new
03:06quarterback. Maybe they part ways with J.J. McCarthy as well. Still rumors at this point,
03:10but Kyler Murray should get released by the Cardinals. Geno Smith could get released by the
03:15Raiders. Tua Tungavailoa, same with the Dolphins. Any of those could end up with McCarthy or even without
03:21McCarthy for the upcoming season. In the National Basketball Association, the New York Knicks finally put
03:27an end to the San Antonio Spurs' 11-game winning streak, 114-89. It was the Spurs' first loss since
03:34January the 31st. Jalen Brunson had 24 points, four rebounds, and seven assists. Of course,
03:41Wemby had a big game too, 25, 13, and two assists coming up short, but here is his response on
03:47taking
03:47the out.
03:48Afternoon, how seriously do you take that? Do you see this sort of regression to the mean in a way?
03:52Regression? No. I mean, no, I don't see any regression. I think it's good for us to see this
04:01kind of adversity. I mean, we want to play the best teams, you know, and this is a top
04:10playoff, you know, top seed team, playoff team, experienced. They know what it's like,
04:17you know, and they gave us a good showing today.
04:18You know, speaking of the trouble drives, our guys did a pretty good job at keeping the ball
04:24out the middle on their drives, and so our all-ball defense was pretty good with the level of
04:30physicality and keeping it on the sidelines. That was pretty good.
04:36But how they had 38 paints and a point, you know, they've been really, really good scoring
04:43in the paint, and our guys did a good job trying to cover that and getting out to the 3
04:49.9.
04:51Brooklyn Nets having a tough time this season, but getting 12.5 points, that was one of the
04:56best bets of the night in the NBA. Cleveland wins 106-102. James Harden did return in this game,
05:02but Cleveland 12.5-point favorites did not come close to covering this spread. Cavs win the game,
05:08don't cover. Meanwhile, Steph Curry's still going to miss more time. He'll miss five more games of
05:13what the team is calling patella pain syndrome, known as runner's knee. Of course, they're hoping
05:18to get him back for the playoffs, which is way more important than any of these games in March.
05:22All right, in college basketball, Ohio State takes care of Purdue, and they've now lost back-to-back
05:27games after losing to Michigan State. So when the poll comes out later today, expect them to drop.
05:33Ohio State 82, Purdue 74. Matt Painter, after the game, talked about his performance,
05:40which is another tough loss, this time to OSU. You know, we come in and out of our focus and
05:45our concentration. Like, we make good plays, we do good things, and then we don't. And you say,
05:50okay, these plays are different. We do this well, but these different lengths we do well. No, no, no,
05:57no. We're the king at, we will guard you in the same action, then we'll turn around and guard the
06:02same action after that, and we don't do what we're supposed to. And so, like, you know, it's got to
06:08be
06:08accountability. Like, you've got to, you know, if they're going to run the same stuff and do the same
06:13things, we got to stay on the same page. And what's crazy is we come in and out of it.
06:18Like, we'll have
06:19two or three good possessions like that, and then we won't. And then we won't. And so, it's like,
06:24it's, we need, we just need more consistency across the board. I wish it was one guy.
06:29I could fix it. I wish it was two guys. And it's not. It's collectively as a team. It's guys
06:33that
06:33have played in 125 games, and it's a couple others that's played in 28 games. And it's,
06:40that's what we have to have. You can't beat yourself.
06:42You know, our guys were ready. The guys were ready. They were excited to play in this game,
06:47felt confident in our plan. And, you know, I think when they found out that we had everybody
06:53available, it kind of just amped it up a little bit more. So, really just, I thought the toughness
07:02we showed and the connection we showed out there against, you know, one of the best teams in the
07:06country was great. And praise God for, you know, we didn't know who was going to be playing in this
07:12game until this morning. Meanwhile, Texas Tech beats Iowa State by a final of 82 to 73. Tech has
07:20now won three straight games since losing their top player, JT Toppin, to a torn ACL. And they've
07:28right now fallen 82 to 73. So, certainly it is an uphill battle for Iowa State trying to get
07:35one of the top seeds in the tournament. They were ranked number four going into the week. But as we've
07:40seen with Purdue, a couple of different losses paving the way for other teams like Florida and some
07:46others potentially jumping into the top four.
