A manhunt is on in Tobago for a lone gunman who shot at Akino George on Thursday night.


The suspect reportedly ran to the victim and fired at him multiple times, in full view of members of the public. More in this Elizabeth Williams report.

00:00At around 11 p.m. on Thursday, Aquino George of Mount Grace, Tobago was in the
00:05vicinity of Dalmore Edwards a supermarket located at North Side Road
00:10Mason Hall fixing a car stereo system. Whilst there, a lone gunman approached
00:16him and fired several shots in his direction and ran off. George was hit in
00:22the neck and the cheek and the passersby took him to the Scarborough General
00:26Hospital where he remains warded in a critical but stable condition. Police
00:31Constable Phillip and CID officers visited the scene as well as Women
00:36Police Creed and Women Police Gift. PC Phillip also visited the hospital to
00:42interview George. Inquiries are continuing. Mr. George is known to police
00:46and was previously wanted in connection with a number of gun crimes in Tobago.
