00:00Kamari Lassiter did not practice today, but in a little media scrum today,
00:05he went ahead and informed everyone that he is playing.
00:10He is playing, and he also said, I didn't even need the rest.
00:16And he said he is playing, so he spoke to media himself
00:22that he is going to be able to go, and they're just resting him for precaution.
00:26But they probably had to hold his ass off the field if he's out there talking about,
00:30I didn't even need the rest.
00:31So he is going to be out there, Clint.
00:33And I think that is a large, obviously it's a large thing because, you know,
00:41between him and Tremont Smith, you'd rather have a guy who's played it up there.
00:47But he's quickly becoming really high on the list of most important players on this team,
00:53not only just because of his skills as a corner, but he is, you've said this about him,
00:59he is absolutely a tone setter for this team.
01:02And I've gone back and re-watched that first half where they had the one defense out there
01:07for the most part.
01:09And, listen, they got some guys.
01:11Aziz is somebody who shows a lot of physicality.
01:15Will, he almost killed a guy in the game.
01:18But Kamari is, like, you've got to just see a little bit of a difference to me in the secondary.
01:26A little bit of a difference just the physicality wasn't there as much
01:30because, like, you watch him, Clint.
01:33It's hard not to just, like, feel like you've got to try to match that intensity
01:40that he is bringing to the table.
01:42And he does it every single game out.
01:44And I think I saw a little bit of that missing in the first half.
01:49And it'll be big for them to have that.
01:51And I'm certain it ratches up on a playoff game.
01:53Well, I don't think there's any doubt that you miss Kamari Lassiter in just a –
01:58I mean, he is a tone setter.
02:00He's the thermostat in the room.
02:01You want people hype, he's going to get them hype.
02:04You want to force a practice to be a physical practice, let him loose, right?
02:09Let him off the leash and let him go.
02:10So, I mean, look, to your point, I think – I told Henry Toa Toa this.
02:16I think there's – I think they all swarm.
02:19You know, everybody at the second and third level plays downhill
02:22with the exception of maybe Stingley.
02:26Two people this season that jump off the screen more to me than anybody
02:32is Henry Toa Toa and Kamari Lassiter.
02:36I mean, those two – I mean, everybody plays downhill.
02:38I'm not minimizing anything that anybody else does.
02:40You just mentioned disease.
02:41You mentioned, you know, and there's obviously Petrie's in there.
02:44But with every single game you turn on the film, Henry Toa Toa and Kamari Lassiter,
02:51it stands out brighter than day that they are the most aggressive,
02:55downhill, physical human beings on this defense.
02:58And Kamari, I think if you went down a list, because on top of being exactly like embodying
03:06what D'Amico Rhines wants his team to look like, on top of that, he's also the kind of dude,
03:13you know, off the field and mentally that you want this team to look like
03:17and this roster to look like.
03:18I think if you went down a list, if you made a list of D'Amico Rhines players,
03:26the guys that he wants his team to image, mirror image, I think Will Anderson's at the top.
03:35Absolutely.
03:36But I think Kamari Lassiter's too.
03:38I think Aziz is three.
03:39He really loves Aziz.
03:40No, he loves Aziz.
03:41But I'm talking – yeah, you're right, you're right.
03:44It may be – but you got Will, you got Aziz, you got Kamari.
03:49I think there's a love for Henry Toa Toa there.
03:52I do think that Daniil fits in there at some point in time.
03:55Petrie, yeah.
03:56I mean, Petrie, like you said.
03:56But those three, though.
03:57Yeah, man, but Lassiter's just one of them top dogs.
04:01And I just think he takes the – I guarantee you he takes the locker room
04:06before you take the field, the tunnel before a game, before you take the field.
04:11He makes that environment.
04:13Well, you watch him, it looks like, man, I got to pick it up.
04:16Yeah, no doubt.
04:17You know what I mean?
04:17Like, I got to pick it up.
04:21And that's a big difference.
04:22Well, it's real.
04:23It's authentic.
04:24You know what I mean?
04:24It's not like when him getting up and beating on his own head.
04:27Like, I don't think that's for show.
04:29Like, that's just what – like, he is that amped.
04:31Aziz, a lot of the stuff Aziz does, like, it's so authentic that people from anywhere,
04:37any age relate to it and respond to it in a positive way.
04:42Yeah, so, yeah.
04:44Not just his play on the field, but all of the other stuff.
04:47All right, Clint.
04:48Dan Orlovsky, he was on Get Up today on ESPN.
04:53And they got to talking about Arch Manning.
04:56And what's – was it Jordan Rodgers?
04:59What's Aaron's brother's name?
05:00Jordan, yeah.
05:00Jordan Rodgers.
05:02Jordan's left eye had a twitch when he came with this take.
05:07They were talking about Tyler's favorite, Arch Manning.
05:11Listen to Dan's assessment of Arch Manning in the draft.
05:16And the pick would already be made.
05:17The Las Vegas Raiders would have no chance of passing on him.
05:21They would have to make the pick.
05:22One, he's 6'4", 225 pounds.
05:27He's an unbelievable athlete.
05:28I think in the Michigan game, he ran at, like, 21 miles per hour, which is absurd.
05:33He's only gotten better.
05:34He's very strong-armed.
05:36He's unbelievably athletic.
05:37He's really smart.
05:39He's getting trained the right way.
05:40He's wired the right way.
05:42He's been knocked down and picked himself back up.
05:44I think he's an –
05:45Ultra cannot be – would not even be close.
05:48He would be – already be selected as the number one pick.
05:50That's bold.
05:56That is.
05:57What, I mean –
05:58I'm in the Hall of Fame already.
06:00I mean, just go ahead and do that.
06:00The bold part – the bold part is his reasoning.
06:05You know, I don't doubt that two things – I don't doubt – I'm not saying it would happen.
06:09I'm just saying I can somewhat entertain the conversation.
06:13I'm not saying he's way off on the reasoning.
06:15No, I am.
06:16I'm saying – not – let me try that again.
06:19I'm not saying he's way off on the reasoning.
06:22What I'm saying is his – the reasons that he's giving, yes, he is athletic, more athletic.
06:30Yes, he has been raised the right way.
06:33Those things are – many of those things are true, but that still doesn't mean, yeah, man,
06:38he's going to be the no doubt.
06:40Wouldn't it be a question number one pick?
06:41I don't doubt that Brady and the Raiders or whoever else is up there in the top of the draft,
06:48I don't doubt that they would say we can't pass on an opportunity to take a Manning.
06:56I don't doubt that they would say he's tougher than nails.
07:01He's a great leader.
07:02I don't doubt that they would say we – that name and a bad quarterback draft.
07:08This is a bad quarterback draft.
07:10It's not an elite quarterback draft.
07:14It's not a deep quarterback draft.
07:15It's not a top-heavy quarterback draft.
07:18It's not like you have to do and have a highlight reel that's ridiculous to be – to show to tangibly be better.
07:25There's no super – there's no superpower with Mendoza.
07:34Really, there's nothing about – I like Ty Simpson.
07:36I think he's going to be a good pro, but there's nothing superpower about Ty Simpson.
07:40I'll be honest with you, I haven't watched Dante more enough.
07:43I watched him the other day in that one game where they beat –
07:46where they beat Tech, and I didn't see a superpower, right, with him.
07:51And so, is there a world where a Manning that doesn't deserve to be the number one overall pick
07:57jumps in and is the number one overall pick because his name and the market –
08:01This sounds like the story of what Arch has been the last couple years.
08:04Correct.
08:05Is there a world where that could happen?
08:07Absolutely, 100%.
08:09That is – I mean, it's monkey see, monkey do, scared to pass on him because if he turns –
08:13if they passed on a Manning and he went at the bottom of the first round
08:16and he went out there and played well, I mean, Las Vegas would never live it down.
08:20So, is there a world?
08:21Yes.
08:22I just wholeheartedly disagree with him.
08:24I mean –
08:24I just wholeheartedly disagree.
08:25The level of confidence that he is saying it is.
08:27He said super athletic.
08:29But the level of confidence that he's saying – I mean, they wouldn't have a choice.
08:34What did he say?
08:34He said –
08:35He said super strong arm.
08:37I just disagree with all of that.
08:38Because I think –
08:39I mean, the Michigan game was impressive, but I don't think –
08:42I know that was – I know that was Jordan Rodgers who chimed in with no way.
08:46Is that what he said?
08:47He said there's no way.
08:49Yeah, no, I don't – I don't – I would have listened and if he just said,
08:53yeah, it's a Manning and it's a bad quarterback, Jeff, I'd be like, oh, okay.
08:56I disagree, but I don't – but going into the whole spiel and trying to talk his way through
09:01those guys being better and him being better than the others and being –
09:06I'm not going to lie to you.
09:08I like Dan.
09:09I enjoy Dan.
09:11And I think he's really good at this.
09:13And I'm not even going to just flat accuse him of this.
09:16But it – when hearing that, it feels like, Tyler, he's – he was sitting around like,
09:22I got to come up with something.
09:23I got to come up with –
09:24What's my hot take going to be today?
09:26Like, I got to come up – I got to come up with something because that is –
09:30that's beyond aggressive.
09:31I'm not going to listen to that.
09:46Okay.
09:46Here we go.
