00:00It's been pretty cool and showery through the last couple of days.
00:04The cool feel is going to stick with us for a little while yet,
00:07but most of the showers are going to start to ease out.
00:10It's all been due to this northerly flow that we've had across the country
00:14because of low pressure sitting just to the east of us.
00:17Now, that low pressure is not going anywhere particularly fast,
00:19so we stick with that northerly flow.
00:21But it is easing a little bit as we go through into the weekend,
00:25so turning drier for a time before a weather system approaches from the west.
00:30Notice the colours. It's not getting much warmer any time soon.
00:34But through the rest of Thursday and a showery picture for many of us,
00:39many of those showers, however, will be easing and dying out.
00:43It's going to be in the areas still exposed to that northerly wind
00:46where we continue to see showery bursts of mostly rain.
00:49There could be a bit of hail and thunder at times.
00:52But it's, yeah, northern parts of Scotland.
00:54Here, there could be some winteriness, so some sleet and snow.
00:57Northern parts of Northern Ireland, parts of Wales, maybe southwest England,
01:01and also down the eastern side of England as well.
01:03Here, some showers are still likely through the early hours of Friday morning.
01:07Elsewhere, it's drier, and there will be clear skies.
01:10Maybe quite cloudy towards the southeast, but elsewhere, quite clear skies.
01:14So perhaps temperatures dropping a little bit lower than last night.
01:17In some prime spots, temperatures falling low enough for a touch of frost, yes.
01:22Either way, it's going to be a bit of a chilly, fresh start to the day on Friday morning.
01:26But perhaps a drier morning than we've seen of late.
01:29Still some showers, some showers across parts of Wales, some showery bursts,
01:33then feeding into southern parts of England, and also showers continuing in those areas exposed to that northerly wind.
01:38So across parts of Scotland, across parts of Northern Ireland,
01:41and perhaps some western and eastern parts of England and Wales as well.
01:44But many places actually having a drier, brighter, sunnier day than we've seen of late.
01:50Still some strong gusty winds in the northeast, so particularly affecting the northern Isles.
01:55But most places seeing the winds easing a little bit, and with those lighter winds and a bit more sunshine,
02:01perhaps.
02:02Even though temperatures on paper are similar to what they've been through the last couple of days,
02:07it might feel ever so slightly less cool, less cold than it has done recently.
02:12A few more showery bursts through Friday evening in similar places, really, to where we've seen through the day.
02:18Can't rule out a few showery outbreaks across more inland areas for a time.
02:22But as I said, that flow is easing, and we're seeing more of the showers dying out through Friday night
02:28into Saturday morning.
02:29Now, in the west, we'll see cloud and some rain approaching because of that frontal system I mentioned earlier.
02:34But elsewhere, a lot of dry, a lot of clear weather.
02:37So it could perhaps be a touch chillier through Friday night than this coming night.
02:42So more widely seen temperatures, mid to low single figures, perhaps a greater chance of a touch of frost in
02:47some prone spots.
02:48First thing on Saturday morning.
02:50But for many, yes, it is a bright, fine start to the day.
02:53Just a few showery bursts in a few spots.
02:56So lots of sunshine through Saturday morning.
02:58But cloud building from the west, turning increasingly grey and cloudy as we head through towards lunchtime and into the
03:05afternoon.
03:05And then that front arriving from the west, so things turning quite damp.
03:09It doesn't look especially heavy, the rain, in association with this.
03:12But it does look like it will turn, yeah, a bit damp, a bit soggy as we go through into
03:17the afternoon.
03:18That rain clearing from Northern Ireland by the evening with a few showers then following in behind.
03:23The further east you are, the longer it's going to take for that front to arrive and it's going to
03:27be weaker by the time it gets there.
03:29Temperature's not really picking up too much just yet, but there are signs of something warmer as we look further
03:35ahead.
03:36It's going to take a little while for any significant change into Sunday.
03:41We're still under the influence of this front.
03:42It's going to take quite a while to make its way across the country.
03:46So some rain at times.
03:47There's further weather coming in from the northwest through Sunday as well.
03:51And even in between these two features, there will be some showery outbreaks of rain.
03:55So not a total washout of a weekend by any means.
03:57There will be some dry weather, but there will also be some rain at times for most of us as
04:01well.
04:02Like I mentioned, however, there is a warming trend to come as we go through next week.
04:07It may take a little while for that to happen, but I will have more information about that on this
04:12week's Weather Studio Live.
04:13So join me this Friday and also Aidan at 12.15 on our YouTube channel.
04:17Bye-bye.
