00:00JANETTE MUNRARO
00:19Please welcome your host, Jeanette Munrara.
00:21Hello, and welcome to Friday's It Takes Two on BBC Two and iPlayer.
00:33It's Blackpool Eve, but before we head off to the Vegas of the North,
00:36tonight I'm putting on a show that wouldn't feel out of place
00:39in the entertainment capital of the world.
00:41So, are you ready to rock?
00:43Yes!
00:44Good, because in just 24 hours and 4 minutes,
00:48our couples head on to the famous sprung floor.
00:52But who will be jumping for joy?
00:54We'll have to tune in tomorrow.
00:55Until then, let's take a look at what we've got coming up for you tonight.
01:00Our roving reporter Tasha has found her way into the famous Tower Ballroom,
01:04and she'll be chatting to all six of our celebs performing tomorrow night.
01:09And get your dabbers ready, because our statsman OJ Borg is back,
01:12and he's here to break down all the Blackpool numbers
01:15with a fun bingo twist.
01:18Plus, life's a beach for these strictly superfans.
01:21And when it comes to our couples, this lot are totally on the ball.
01:25It's the return of our Friday panel!
01:27Nice, nice.
01:32Yeah, thank...
01:33No, we really practiced that, didn't we?
01:35All right.
01:36And...
01:40We've got another huge exclusive lined up for you.
01:44We'll be revealing what it is a little later in the show.
01:48But first, it's time to head over to Tasha, who has exclusive access backstage in the Tower Ballroom.
01:54And she's bumped into two of the boys, Lewis and George, ahead of the big night.
01:58Take it away, Tasha.
01:59Thanks, Jeanette.
02:01As you can see, the group rehearsal's going on.
02:03Hi, guys.
02:04How are you both?
02:05Very well.
02:06Really, really good.
02:07How exciting is it to be here?
02:08I know.
02:09What's your first impressions of the famous Blackpool Tower?
02:12Big and cold.
02:15No, it's beautiful.
02:16It's actually really...
02:17It's ornate, I'd say.
02:19Mmm.
02:20Love it.
02:21What about you, Lewis?
02:22I think it's super beautiful.
02:23I mean, it almost takes your breath away, the size and the grandeur of it.
02:27And you can kind of, like, feel an energy in the air of history of dancing.
02:30And it's just super exciting.
02:32You've both got high energy routines.
02:34How are you planning to use this one block to your advantage?
02:38Yeah, I think we're both kind of hoping it is an advantage because it's...
02:42Everyone keeps mentioning the sprung floor.
02:44How sprung is this floor?
02:46How sprung could a floor be?
02:47Like, does it actually make you jump?
02:48I mean, yeah, you literally go flying up through the roof and back.
02:51Well, at least that will cut out some of the time for the dance.
02:54Well, soon you're bound up for yourself.
02:56It is quite springy, I would say.
02:57Yeah.
02:58I'm looking forward to it.
02:59I mean, I feel like it will surely just add a bit of energy.
03:01Mm.
03:02Up the party vibes.
03:03More is more.
03:04Oh, more is always more.
03:06And Katya's never had a 10 in Blackpool.
03:08How are you hoping to change that?
03:09Oh, don't put that pressure on me.
03:11I have to ask the question.
03:12I'm sorry.
03:13No, we'll just, like we do every week, we'll just try our best
03:16and then kind of the rest is out of our hands.
03:18Yeah, and Alexis' first time in Blackpool,
03:20and also your first time getting to share this amazing experience with her.
03:23Yeah, we've got the same level of experience, me and Alexis.
03:26No, I think it's nice to sort of be able to experience this place together.
03:32I mean, the magic isn't lost on me, but I know it will be really special for her,
03:37so that's quite cool.
03:38It's a very special place and good luck tomorrow.
03:41Really take it in and just go for it.
03:43Of course.
03:44Back over to you tonight.
03:45Thanks, Tasha.
03:48Right, with everyone heading off to Blackpool,
03:51luckily we found three strictly mega-fans wandering the halls of L Street.
03:55Let me entertain you with our Friday panel.
03:58She made a living from watching TV.
04:01Now every time she's on the telly,
04:03she lights up our lives like the Blackpool illuminations.
04:06It's Scarlett Moffat!
04:07Yay!
04:09Hi, I've seen you!
04:11Looking gorgeous!
04:13Yes!
04:14Hang on, hang on.
04:15Cut the music.
04:16Now, the rest of the panel will be out in a minute,
04:19but before they do, I'm here to tell you what your big Strictly exclusive is.
04:25Drum roll, please.
04:26Oh!
04:27I'm so excited!
04:28I am officially this year's first Strictly Christmas special fantastic!
04:34Yay!
04:35I'm so excited!
04:38Congratulations!
04:39I'm so excited!
04:40Come on, sit down, sit down, sit down.
04:41The rest of the panel can wait.
04:43This is big.
04:44This is big.
04:45We'll keep them hiding in the back.
04:47What incredible news.
04:48I'm so honest.
04:49I just keep crying all the time.
04:50You can say it now.
04:51You can say it.
04:52I know I can say it out loud.
04:53I'm so excited.
04:54So how excited are you to be a part of the Strictly Christmas special?
04:56Like this, it's just a dream.
04:58Like honestly, this is like the top of my bucket list,
05:01which I never thought I was going to be able to do.
05:04Yeah.
05:05And now I get to do it.
05:06I get to do it.
05:07And what does it feel like knowing you're going to be such a big part of so many people's Christmas day?
05:11Oh, docks, I will cry.
05:12I think for me, like this has been a tradition in my family that we sit down and watch Strictly on Christmas Day.
05:19And the fact that my little boy Jude gets to then watch his mom.
05:23Watch his mommy.
05:24I'm just so excited.
05:25Oh, isn't that amazing?
05:26But we are going to be finding out as well which pro you're going to be dancing with.
05:30Mmm.
05:31And it is...
05:33Mito Koukouka!
05:36There he is.
05:40How much of a dream pairing is that?
05:42Well, I feel like we're the same person.
05:44Obviously, there's a couple of differences.
05:46But we're the same person.
05:49Just a few differences there.
05:51Now, we won't be revealing the dance style just yet, but what's it been like in training with Vito?
05:55Oh, honestly, even better than I could have imagined.
05:58Like, we've just laughed from start to finish.
06:00But I've also discovered muscles that I didn't think I had.
06:04Things wobble that I didn't think would wobble.
06:07But every day is a school day, isn't it?
06:10Keeping you humble.
06:11Yes, yes.
06:12And you are a super, super Strictly mega fan.
06:15Yes.
06:16How much are you hoping that you're going to take home the Christmas glitter ball?
06:19Do you know what?
06:20I don't mean to sound like her, but I genuinely already feel like I've won.
06:23Like, the fact I get to be part of it, I'm dancing with Vito.
06:26However, I am leaving a little space on me mantelpiece, just in case.
06:29Yeah, why not?
06:30Just in case.
06:31Just in case.
06:32Oh, I am so thrilled for you.
06:34Congratulations, Scarlett!
06:35And make sure you tune in to Scott Mills Breakfast Show on Radio 2 on Monday for another Christmas reveal.
06:43I know.
06:44Give it up for Scarlett Buffett, everybody!
06:46Yay!
06:47All right, let's get the rest of the Friday panel out, shall we?
06:50Hit the music!
06:51One more time!
06:52He's a man who doesn't need a sprung floor to fly.
06:56It's a member of gravity-defying dance troupe, Diversity.
06:59The one and only, Ashley Banjo!
07:03There he is!
07:06Aw, come here, you. Give me a cuddle. Give me a cuddle.
07:09We would have been great partners on Strictly, do you reckon?
07:11How are you?
07:13Nice to see you. Come and join the couch.
07:15He's a former police officer turned TV presenter who appeared on Strictly back in 2009.
07:22And we still think it's a crime he didn't make it past week four.
07:25It's Rob Weldon!
07:31Hey, you. Come here. I'm gonna give you a hug. Give me a hug.
07:33Welcome to the show, darlings.
07:38Well, nice to have you and nice to see you to see you nice.
07:42Ashley, last Sunday we saw the amazing collaboration between Diversity and the Strictly professionals.
07:47What a number. What was it like for you to be part of it?
07:50It was, honestly, we have never had the pleasure of performing on Strictly before.
07:55It was incredible.
07:56The timing was right, the stars aligned, and yeah, honestly, the response has been immense.
08:00Can't thank everybody enough, and hopefully it's not the only time.
08:03Not the only one. Yeah, hopefully more to come, right?
08:05Yeah.
08:06And speaking of more to come, Diversity are gonna be going on tour early next year.
08:09But Strictly's gonna be in Blackpool tomorrow night.
08:12How are you feeling about Strictly in Blackpool?
08:13I think, well, listen, you talk about the tour.
08:15I know when we go on tour, Blackpool is always an absolute, just incredible venue.
08:21So when we go, I'm super excited to be in Blackpool.
08:24So I kind of know how they're feeling because, you know, we're not there yet.
08:27But it's coming in the future.
08:28So it's got a really special, a special dance energy.
08:31There's something about it, right? There's something about it.
08:33Exactly.
08:3416 years since you did Strictly. Can you believe it?
08:38It hurts a little. It hurts a little.
08:41I know.
08:42I was 12. I was 12.
08:45But Scam Safe Week is coming up on the BBC.
08:48So can you tell us a little bit more about why it's all happening?
08:50Well, it's just really important to spread the message, how to keep yourself safe.
08:54Like, we all know someone who's either been targeted by scammers or have been themselves.
08:58So I think it's just getting across all the BBC platforms like we are today, talking about it today.
09:02Just making sure as many people as possible can stay safe from these scams.
09:06Yeah, we love it. We want to protect everybody.
09:08All right. Shall we get into this year's couples?
09:10Let's do it. Yes.
09:11So first up, we're going to start with Karen and Carlos. They're doing a Paso Doble.
09:14Now, Rav, how do you think Karen is going to cope with the Blackpool occasion?
09:18Well, we know that it's the biggest occasion she's going to have so far during Strictly because being in Blackpool, it's huge.
09:24And she's performed so many times on the highest level internationally.
09:28Yeah, true.
09:29So I think this is where she can really shine. She's not going to be scared of a bit of pressure.
09:32Oh, she's not.
09:33She's done it nearly 150 times for her country.
09:35So I think she's going to be amazing.
09:36And she's brought it home. And she's brought it home.
09:39Scottie, the Paso has both topped the leaderboard and been at the bottom of the leaderboard.
09:44She's had a bit of a rollercoaster of a dance in terms of scores.
09:47Are you expecting an up or down weekend for Karen?
09:50I'm thinking up.
09:51Me too.
09:52Because she's fierce, you know, and it's like, in the words of me little boy, it's an angry dance.
09:56And I feel like I could imagine her, like, really getting into that. Do you know what I mean?
10:00Yeah.
10:01I'm here for it.
10:02And what about yourself, Ashley? What do you make of Karen and Carlos?
10:04I think she's underrated.
10:06Yeah.
10:07I do. I think she's great.
10:09There are some weeks I'm, you know, not as blown away and other weeks I go, oh, wow.
10:14So I think that I'm just really looking forward to seeing what happens on the occasion.
10:17She's fiery.
10:18So I think we're going to get that from her.
10:19Yeah.
10:20Let's go now to Amber and Nikita.
10:21They're going to be doing a quick step.
10:22Now, Ashley, since being in the dance off on week five, she has been so strong and consistent every single week.
10:28What have you made of her resilience?
10:30Oh, she is, I think she's like a secret weapon.
10:33I think she's still got more in the arsenal that we haven't seen yet.
10:37When someone has got that much ability, it's exciting to see what they come up with, especially because of that, you know, fiery connection.
10:43Yeah, you look forward to the dance, right?
10:45Absolutely.
10:46Because you know you're going to get something good.
10:47Rav, you were eliminated on the quick step.
10:49I know I brought up 16 years elimination.
10:52Who am I?
10:53It's because I love you.
10:55I love you.
10:56But do you think there's any chance of Amber having that same fate with the quick step?
10:59No.
11:00Listen, when I did a quick step, I looked like a rhino treading on Lego.
11:03So I don't think Amber's going to look the same when she does it.
11:05She's going to be a lot better than me.
11:07I think she's going to be absolutely fine.
11:08It's a good dance for her.
11:09She's a good dancer, isn't she?
11:10What do you make of her, Amber?
11:11Yeah, she's amazing.
11:12And, like, I remember seeing her in theatre in Great Gatsby.
11:16And that's, you know, and that was a little bit Charleston, a little bit quick-steppy.
11:19So I think she's going to sweep the floor.
11:21She's going to be amazing.
11:22I hope so, too.
11:23Right, let's go now to Belventa and Julian.
11:25They're doing an Argentine tango.
11:26Scarlett, this is the dance she's been wanting to do from day one of the series.
11:31Do you think it's going to suit her?
11:33I think it will because I feel like when she's in closed hold, that's when she excels.
11:38I feel like they've got a really good partnership.
11:40And this is all about, like, being led and, you know, and I think she's going to be amazing.
11:44And the drama.
11:45She's going to bring the drama as well.
11:46But, Ashley, she's been in the dance-off four times.
11:49Can you believe that?
11:50Can the sprung Blackpool floor help her bounce back up?
11:53Probably not.
11:54Oh!
11:55No, no, no.
11:56But that's okay.
11:57I'm a huge, I'm a huge fan of her.
12:00I'm a huge fan of her.
12:03We love honesty here, actually.
12:04So this is good.
12:05I'm a huge fan of an underdog as well.
12:07But, you know, there comes a point in a competition when I look around now and there are some incredible couples.
12:12And I think maybe, I think she should make the most of the Blackpool experience.
12:15Yeah.
12:16And she's obviously a fighter.
12:17She is coming back week on week delivering.
12:19And, Rav, what do you make of that?
12:21I think it's a good dance for her.
12:22Yeah.
12:23I think she's going to be good.
12:24She's promised something special in Blackpool.
12:25This is her chance.
12:26I think she can do it.
12:27Yeah, fingers crossed.
12:28Well, we'll see.
12:29We'll chat about our remaining couples a little bit later.
12:31But for now, let's hear it for the Friday panel.
12:33And our Christmas.
12:36Oh, I love it.
12:37All right.
12:38Now, it's time to head back up north to see how Tasha's getting on.
12:41And this time, she's with Kaz and Bal.
12:43Thanks, Jeanette.
12:44We are in the Blackpool Auditorium and rehearsals are in full swing.
12:48Hello, both.
12:49Thank you for joining me.
12:50How are you feeling walking in this space here?
12:52Oh, I feel, I'm mesmerised.
12:55Look at the lights, everything, the history.
12:57It's unbelievable.
12:58How much of a sense of the history can you feel?
13:00I mean, I think it just feels really magical, right?
13:02So you walk into the place and you're literally transported into another world.
13:06And that's really special.
13:08Like, yeah, the lights and all of the architecture as well.
13:11Like, you do feel like you've stepped into, like, an old, old theatre.
13:15It's gorgeous.
13:16It's a magical feeling, isn't it?
13:17Yeah, totally.
13:18It's a bit different from Mousetree.
13:19Yeah, I was literally just saying that.
13:21It feels really, really different.
13:23And trying to navigate your way round as well.
13:25I've been lost about three times.
13:26Yeah, it's massive.
13:27So if I'm late for the show, it's because I'm lost.
13:29So, yeah.
13:30And, Cass, you've played in front of some quite big crowds before.
13:34Now, 620 can fit in this space.
13:36Wow.
13:37How are your nerves feeling?
13:38I actually said to Carlos when we walked in, I said, Carlos, I'm nervous.
13:41I was like, I'm really nervous because it's Blackpool, because it's so big and so vast.
13:47So I do feel really nervous about this, to be honest.
13:50Yeah, yeah.
13:51And, you know, you've been here for quite a few days with Julian.
13:54What have you been up to apart from rehearsing?
13:56Yeah, I mean, it doesn't leave a lot of time to do much.
13:59But we did go on the Skyflyer, which was quite exciting.
14:02Yeah, it's a ride and it goes up quite high and I was screaming like a little kid.
14:07It wasn't even that, like, you know, like fast or anything.
14:11It just sort of whizzes round very slowly.
14:13But you can see the whole of Blackpool from up there and it was gorgeous and the tail was just in front of you.
14:18We've had a walk along the beach, fish and chips, really, really lovely fish and chips.
14:23Yeah, yeah.
14:24And the weather's been amazing.
14:25Gorgeous.
14:26Massive, massive fish.
14:28I think Julian described it as a shark.
14:31He's like he served up a shark with chips.
14:34But yeah, no, it's been really lovely.
14:36Well, good luck to you both tomorrow.
14:39You've got the Argentine tango and the Paso.
14:41Go for it, enjoy it, take it all in.
14:44Back over to you, Jeanette.
14:46Thanks, Tasha.
14:47Right, Strictly has a storied history at Blackpool.
14:50But to really understand how the past might impact this year's couples, it's important to look at the numbers.
14:55So I drafted in somebody who, when it comes to facts and figures, has got a lot of balls.
15:00It's time for Borges' Blackpool Bingo!
15:11Hello, OJ. This is me.
15:13I was trying to copy your moves there.
15:15Yeah, stick with me, baby.
15:16All right, so what have you got for us today?
15:17Well, Jeanette, I'm here to crunch the numbers.
15:19But a question for you.
15:20What's the first thing you think of if somebody would say the words Blackpool?
15:23Oh, rock and stick?
15:24What, rock?
15:25Fish and chips?
15:26No, fish and chips, no.
15:27What else?
15:28What?
15:29Seagulls?
15:30Donkeys?
15:31No, it is bingo!
15:32Bingo!
15:33I'd like to reveal my Borgs Blackpool Bingo cards.
15:36Let's have a look.
15:37Hey!
15:38Years have worked that.
15:39Years have worked.
15:40Now, behind each number is a stat that relates to Strictly History at the famous Tower Ballroom.
15:44So, eyes down.
15:45Okay.
15:46Have you got your Dabra at the ready?
15:47I think so.
15:48And let's play Borgs Blackpool Bingo!
15:50Yay!
15:51Hey!
15:52All the frees, 33!
15:55Oh, look at that.
15:56I'm enjoying these cheers.
15:57You're very welcome.
15:58I'm enjoying the cheers.
15:59So, 33.
16:00We're starting with some good Blackpool stats here.
16:02The average score for a dancer Blackpool is just over 33.
16:05Oh, hi.
16:06To be precise, it's 33.27.
16:08But, if you were to ask my age, I would round it down.
16:11So, we're rounding this down to 33.
16:13Down is nice.
16:14This year, unless they all get zero, we're going to surpass the 4,200 points mark in scores.
16:19Wow.
16:20Currently on 4,159.
16:21Wow.
16:22They're not going to get zeros.
16:23No, surely not.
16:24It's not going to happen.
16:25Craig can't be that bad, right?
16:26No, no.
16:27Don't say it out loud.
16:28I know.
16:29There's been a remarkable 123 tens from 125 scored dances.
16:34Nice.
16:35Three show dances weren't scored in a final.
16:36So, we're averaging nearly 110 per dance.
16:39Really good.
16:40Yeah.
16:41All right.
16:42So, what's the next number?
16:43Number four.
16:44Mmm.
16:45Look at that.
16:46What?
16:47Did you just spider manage?
16:48I just did the death.
16:49Spider woman.
16:50Four relates to 40s at Blackpool.
16:51There have been four non-final 40s at the Talboran.
16:54They are Ashley and Pasha.
16:56They did a jive.
16:57Yes.
16:58Danny and Oti did a Charleston.
16:59Ali and Brian did a Vianna's Walls.
17:01And Fleur and Vito, our very own Fleur and Vito, the couple's choice.
17:04Amazing.
17:05Yes.
17:06There have also been four final 40s at Blackpool.
17:09Harry and Aliona with a quick step.
17:11Oh, brilliant.
17:12You've got Jason and Cristina with a show dance.
17:14Harry and Aliona again with an Argentine tango.
17:16The first ever Blackpool 40?
17:18Jill and Darren.
17:19Yes.
17:20With a jive.
17:21What a jive though.
17:22What a jive.
17:23Now, four is a number that means a lot at Blackpool.
17:24Remember what Shirley says.
17:25Four plus four, eight.
17:27She's a wise woman.
17:28Yes.
17:29If I knew what that was in Latin, I'd have it tattooed on my neck.
17:31Easy.
17:32Cuatro con cuatro son ocho.
17:33Right, next number, please.
17:35Three and six.
17:3636.
17:37Look at that!
17:39That's going to haunt me.
17:4136, that's about the average for a couple's choice at Blackpool,
17:44which Alex and Johannes are doing.
17:47Now, the couple's choice has the highest average score in the Tower Ballroom on Strictly.
17:52There we go, 36.4.
17:54This list, however, it doesn't include the show dance.
17:56It felt just a bit unfair as it had only been done in the final.
18:00Now, couple's choice has topped the leaderboard three years of Blackpool,
18:03so it's a good dance to have.
18:04Really good dance.
18:05Johannes has never done a couple's choice at the Tower Ballroom,
18:08so it's a new experience for him.
18:10But, this will be his fourth Blackpool appearance in a row,
18:13which matches Oti for consecutive Blackpool appearances.
18:16Yes.
18:17He's still two behind the all-time leader for consecutive Blackpool appearance, who is...
18:20King Kev.
18:21King Kev.
18:22King Kev.
18:23The lord and master of Blackpool with six.
18:25Yes.
18:26Yes, right.
18:27Next number, please.
18:28Two dozen.
18:2924.
18:30Look at that.
18:3124.
18:32Here we go.
18:3324 is the highest number of tens from a dance style at Blackpool.
18:36Oh, wow.
18:37That is the Quickstep, which Amber will be doing tomorrow, to Reach.
18:40Reach.
18:41By S Club 7.
18:42Yes.
18:43She's not going to do that, is she?
18:44No, she'll be here.
18:45Okay, good.
18:46Lovely posture, nice line.
18:47The Quickstep is way out in front.
18:48Yes.
18:49It's a good dance to have at Blackpool with that famous sprung floor, which you said makes
18:52a difference.
18:53Yeah, it does make a difference.
18:54Quickstep, jives, Charlestons, it really helps.
18:56Yeah.
18:57Four of those tens were for Harry and Aliona in the final.
19:00The Quickstep's only perfect score in Blackpool.
19:02Wow.
19:03All right.
19:04Next number, please.
19:05Woman alive, number five.
19:07Yeah, I like that conversion.
19:08The woman who's managed to stay alive loads of times already this series, that is Balvinda.
19:12Yes.
19:13This will be the fifth time for the Argentine tango's been performed at Blackpool.
19:17It has a high of 40 and a low of 25.
19:19Ready for something interesting?
19:20Go on.
19:21Here we go.
19:22Here's all the dances that have at least one ten per dance ratio.
19:25Oh.
19:26Even though there are dances with more tens when you do the maths, such as here, the Argentine
19:30tango has the highest average number of tens per dance.
19:33So you might really get a ten on the Argentine tango?
19:36Yes, it could be a dance to have.
19:37Although if Balvinda ends up in the dance-off again this week, she'll go into the points
19:42lead for dance-offs with Jamelia, who was on five and was eliminated on her fifth.
19:47Oh, no, no, no, no, no.
19:48Fingers crossed she's not, but next number, please.
19:50All right.
19:51On its own, number eight.
19:52I like yours.
19:53Oh.
19:54I'm mixing you up, I'm mixing you up.
19:56Okay, this fact relates to George who's doing a salsa which has been danced eight times
20:00but has never received a ten.
20:01Has it not?
20:02No tens, no, no.
20:03The salsa is the most dance style at Blackpool which has never had a ten.
20:07Amazingly, the waltz has never had a Blackpool outing.
20:10Never been to the waltz?
20:11I guess it's slow.
20:12Wow.
20:13You know, you want party dances.
20:14Well, yeah, I guess.
20:15It won't again this year, but George can't change it.
20:17What he can change, though, is the fate of the salsa tomorrow night.
20:20George will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of his mate Joe Sugg who claimed three tens
20:24in Blackpool in 2018 with his quick steps.
20:27I think he might be able to do it, but right.
20:29Next number, please.
20:30Another one.
20:31Unlucky for some.
20:3213.
20:33I'm going to do it.
20:34Hey!
20:35We'll just never be in steps.
20:36No.
20:37To demonstrate this, I'm bringing back an old favourite inspired by former Strictly contestant
20:41Charles Venn who danced to samba at Blackpool and got two tens.
20:45It's my Charles Venn diagram!
20:50There we go.
20:51Let's look at this then.
20:52Blackpool tens there at 13.
20:53Top of the leaderboard is three.
20:54Zero eliminations.
20:55What do we find in the middle?
20:57Well, what fits?
20:58It is...
20:59The Pasadogla.
21:00The Pasadogla.
21:01Great dance to do in Blackpool.
21:02It is.
21:03Karen and Carlos will be dancing this.
21:04I reckon a pretty good one to get at Blackpool.
21:07It's Carlos' third time at Blackpool.
21:09He's made it with all three of his partners.
21:11A perfect record.
21:12Nice.
21:13Now, his other two times with Molly and Angela, he got 35 and 38 respectively, so good scores
21:18and three tens in there as well.
21:20Okay, right.
21:21Next number, please.
21:22Can we do this one together?
21:23Three and four.
21:2434.
21:25Oh!
21:26Okay, Lewis comes into Blackpool with an average of 34, the highest in the competition this
21:30year so far.
21:3135.9 is the average Charleston score at Blackpool, so it could be a good dance of him.
21:36Although, Katya was eliminated last year at Blackpool with a Charleston.
21:39Oh, she was, wasn't she?
21:40Yes.
21:41Yeah, bad omen.
21:42But there's good stuff though.
21:43Here we go with the good stuff.
21:44Charleston has topped the leaderboard in Blackpool the most times of any dance.
21:48Wow.
21:49I love a pie and I love a chart.
21:50Let's have a pie chart.
21:51Oh, I love it.
21:52Now, these figures don't include the finals of the time everybody danced.
21:55The samba, the Charleston also had one perfect score.
21:57Who can forget Danny and Oti?
21:59Yes.
22:00Amazing dance.
22:01Yes.
22:02I love a pie chart.
22:03I love a pie.
22:04It's making me hungry.
22:05Yeah, me too.
22:06Pies afterwards?
22:07Yeah, go on.
22:08We're in.
22:09Will Lewis and Katya add to the only perfect score this series here?
22:10I think they've got a good chance.
22:11I think so too.
22:12Next number please.
22:13Come on, we can do this one.
22:14Number six.
22:15There we go.
22:16And do you know what it is?
22:17It's a line.
22:18It's a bingo.
22:19We've done it.
22:20We've made the line.
22:21How will our six couples get on tomorrow night?
22:23I cannot wait to find out.
22:25Well, this has been very insightful.
22:27Let's hear it for OJ Borg, everybody.
22:29Yay!
22:30I'm going to bingo home.
22:31You're going to bingo home.
22:32All right.
22:33Thanks for coming in.
22:34Right.
22:35Back now to Tasha in Blackpool for the final time this evening.
22:39Thanks, Jeanette.
22:40Hi, ladies.
22:41Thank you for joining me.
22:42Hello.
22:43You're here.
22:44You've made it to Blackpool.
22:45Yeah.
22:46Tell me, how do you feel right now?
22:48We were just in awe.
22:49Yeah.
22:50Just looking at that ballroom floor.
22:52It's so much bigger than you think it's going to be.
22:55Yeah.
22:56And it's so beautifully ornate.
22:58I mean, I literally had no idea.
23:00It just doesn't translate on the television screen.
23:03You have to come and see it for yourselves.
23:05Yeah.
23:06It is extraordinary.
23:07This is your first time in Blackpool ever.
23:10Yeah.
23:11Yeah, it is.
23:12What's your first impression in Blackpool?
23:13Well, you know what?
23:14The nice thing is, even though it's been cold, we've had lovely weather.
23:17Yes, we have.
23:18You know, it's been bright sunshine.
23:19So that's been lovely.
23:20Because as long as you are dressed up warmly, you can then handle it.
23:25But everybody's super friendly.
23:27They love Strictly.
23:28They love it.
23:29Yeah.
23:30The way the town comes together and supports us is beautiful.
23:34Yeah.
23:35And the lights.
23:36Yeah.
23:37The lights are fabulous.
23:38So magical, isn't it?
23:39Yes.
23:40Yes.
23:41Oh my gosh.
23:42If I was a little girl, I would think I was in Fairyland, actually.
23:44Well, when I came here when I was little, the tower seemed so much bigger.
23:48Now that I'm an adult.
23:49I'm like, wow.
23:50Right.
23:51I don't remember it being that small.
23:52Amber, you've just rehearsed on the sprung floor.
23:55I have.
23:56How does it compare to Elstree?
23:57It's like, it's magical.
24:00The vibe is completely different.
24:02There's nerves, but it is more excitement this week.
24:06New venue, you know, bigger lights, more dancers.
24:09Yeah.
24:10More dancers is epic.
24:11It's just a dream come true.
24:14And what about the floor?
24:16I haven't danced yet, so is it springy?
24:18It is springy, but I was too busy thinking about my next move to even notice it.
24:24I was like, what's coming next?
24:26It's funny.
24:27You can see the floor shaking and moving.
24:29Yeah.
24:30Really?
24:31Yeah, it's very springy.
24:32When you go on, I'll have a look.
24:33And you just had the costume fit in.
24:34Yes.
24:35Did it live up to the diva status?
24:36We're getting there with the diva status.
24:38I'm definitely going to give diva vibes, but there needs definitely to be a little bit
24:43more adjustment to my costume before I'm ready to go on the floor with it.
24:47Well, I'm sure they're all going to look gorgeous.
24:49Massive good luck tomorrow.
24:50Thank you so much.
24:52Back over to you, Jeanette.
24:53Bye.
24:55Let's welcome back my Friday panel.
25:00We've still got three more couples to talk about, and we're going to start tonight with
25:04Louis and Katya.
25:05Now, they're doing the Charleston.
25:07Rav, we heard earlier from OJ that he's going into Blackpool as the highest scorer of
25:12the series.
25:13What has impressed you about them?
25:15Literally everything that he does is incredible.
25:19Great couple.
25:20Katya's choreography is going to be brilliant, especially at Blackpool.
25:23They're going to pull it out of the bag.
25:25Yeah, it's going to be really, really good.
25:26Sorry, I said highest score, but I meant highest average score in the competition.
25:29And actually, the Charleston is full of tricks.
25:31It can have lots of different elements to it.
25:33What are you most looking forward to about the routine?
25:35I'm going to call it, I think this might be their best routine, their best performance
25:40of the series.
25:41I don't know why.
25:42I just feel like going to Blackpool, the Charleston, their partnership, his skill,
25:46I think it's going to be special.
25:47Yeah, I mean, they got a perfect score for the couple's choice.
25:50Yeah.
25:51Ooh, okay.
25:52Watch this space.
25:53Scarlett, he's a fellow Count of Durham lad.
25:55Yeah, he's a pit yakker.
25:57He's a what?
25:58A pit yakker?
25:59A pit yakker.
26:00A pit yakker.
26:01That's genuinely what we call it.
26:02I just think the things that he's doing for our area, he's amazing.
26:05Like, everything he does, it's, yeah, he was born to do this, wasn't he?
26:09He's a pit yakker?
26:10He's a pit yakker.
26:11No, you're attending sometimes.
26:14Okay, George and Alexis, we're going to move on to this.
26:17They're doing salsa.
26:19But he is Jude's favourite in the competition.
26:22He is.
26:23Your little boy's favourite.
26:24So what have you both made of George and Alexis' performance?
26:26They're just always so fun.
26:27You know, like, we get up and we dance along to them.
26:30So the fact he's doing salsa, we're going to be there on our couch
26:33with our snake hips cheering him on, yeah.
26:35And the song.
26:36I know, it's such a good song.
26:37The song is iconic.
26:38And Rav, he's had ups and downs in the recent weeks.
26:42What kind of performance are you expecting from him in Blackpool?
26:44Well, I don't think last week was necessarily his strongest
26:47with the Roomba.
26:48So I think this week, being the party vibes of the salsa,
26:51I think he can up it.
26:52And I think he's got a good chance of doing really well this week.
26:55I hope he does.
26:56And it was such a contrast to go from the Roomba to the salsa.
26:59Surely that'll do him favours, right?
27:00Let's hope so.
27:01You're asking me like I know about dancing.
27:03It's been shopping out.
27:06You did it for 16 years.
27:08I had faith.
27:09Rav, I had faith.
27:10OK.
27:11And actually, what about you?
27:12What do you think of George and Alexis?
27:13Well, as an expert in the salsa, I think he's going to be great.
27:18No, I...
27:19Rav, I'm so glad you didn't try and black that one.
27:22I like that one.
27:23No, I...
27:24Do you know what?
27:25There are some people, technicality aside, that you just enjoy watching.
27:28Yeah.
27:29He's one.
27:30I don't know what it is.
27:31Just gives you like a warm feeling.
27:32I think he's just really genuine and I just really love watching him dance.
27:34Yeah.
27:35And there's such a beautiful partnership as well, the two of them.
27:37Yeah, absolutely.
27:38Let's go now to Alex and Johannes.
27:39They'll do a couple's choice.
27:40Actually, there'll be extra dancers in this routine.
27:43And as someone that is used to dancing with diversity and a troupe,
27:46do you think this is going to really help them?
27:48Game changer.
27:49Yeah.
27:50Especially when it comes to energy and performance.
27:52The synergy you get with your partner is one thing,
27:55but I think when that's sort of backed up and enhanced by a group of people,
27:59especially a group of people that are willing you on to do well,
28:02it really does add a lot to the performance.
28:04I think it will help a lot.
28:05It'll spring them up.
28:06It springs them up, exactly.
28:07And, Scarlett, the couple's choice is going to be a little bit more jazz,
28:10theatre-inspired.
28:11Oh, yeah.
28:12Do you think that's going to suit Alex?
28:14Yeah, I love a jazz band.
28:15They're going to be...
28:16Dude!
28:17Yeah, they're going to be fab at this, aren't you?
28:19Yes.
28:20Because I actually think she's been a bit of an underdog.
28:22Mmm.
28:23Do you know what I mean?
28:24But I think she's amazing and her technique's fab.
28:26Yeah.
28:27Well, she's going great.
28:28I'm looking at you because you...
28:29Yeah, yeah, yeah.
28:30As a technique.
28:31Yeah, I was an expert in it.
28:32I think...
28:33I think you're right.
28:34Yeah.
28:35I agree.
28:36OK, well, thanks for all of your expert opinions, everybody.
28:38It's about to get a bit choppy, though, because it's time to see
28:41whose boat you think will capsize by the sea.
28:44Ooh.
28:45Who do you think will be leaving the competition this weekend?
28:48Scarlett.
28:49Hang on.
28:50Find it.
28:51I've only got little limbs.
28:52Ooh.
28:53Oh, balance.
28:54Oh, God.
28:55All right, Ashley.
28:56I have to think about this.
28:58Um...
28:59Balance, okay.
29:00And lastly, Rav.
29:02Controversial.
29:03I think everyone else is going to up their game.
29:05This one could be in trouble.
29:07Ooh!
29:08Amber and Nikita.
29:10Well, this is the beauty of this series that we cannot call it.
29:13He's not an expert.
29:14It literally can beat anyone this weekend.
29:16Well, you guys have been great, I'll tell you that.
29:19You can come back.
29:20Give it up for our Friday panel.
29:21Ooh!
29:22Brilliant.
29:23OK.
29:24That's it for tonight.
29:25Thanks to all my guests.
29:26Flo will be back on Monday with the next couple to leave the
29:31competition.
29:32Shirley Ballas will be stopping by to talk all things Blackpool.
29:36So if you have any questions, please do send them in.
29:38And don't forget to tune in to Tess and Claudia on BBC One tomorrow
29:41at 6.45.
29:42Right.
29:43I've got a bus to catch.
29:44Have a lovely weekend, everybody.
29:45What made you different from other girl bands?
30:00Probably my girl band.
30:02Just the most electric feeling.
30:05Young, rich, famous.
30:07Fif musun.
30:08And I thought that was a good competition.
30:10Аrogen.
30:12Sorry, back to kommen is in.
