00:00Please welcome your host, Jeanette Munraro.
00:24Hello and welcome to your Wednesday edition of It Takes Two, live on BBC Two and iPlayer.
00:36It's Wednesday and our Strictly stars are switching into full icon mode with their minds firmly set on Saturday night's performance.
00:44And we want to make sure you're fully up to speed with all the iconic details before the big night.
00:49So, let's not waste any more precious time. Here's what we've got coming for you tonight.
00:55They hoped their cha-cha-cha would hit the judges with their best shot, but with Shirley swinging back a two, the gloves are off and the salsa's on.
01:04Can LeBron Aliash bounce back and dance their way back into the ring?
01:09On Saturday night, George and Alexis commanded the ballroom with a tango fit for royalty.
01:14With a jive on the horizon, can they continue their reign and hold court on the dance floor?
01:19And it's the first Ask the Pros of the series!
01:23Luba, Nancy and Michelle are here to spill all the secrets and answer everything about the magic behind the moves.
01:30And remember, our pros want to hear from you.
01:33So, if you've ever wondered what Luba's hidden talent is or what Nancy's favorite dance move is, then send our pros your question to our WhatsApp number 0800-0223801 or just scan the QR code on your screen.
01:51Now, sadly, due to an injury, Stefan Dennis has had to withdraw from the competition.
01:56Stefan and Diane are here to talk about their Strictly journey and how they stole the show on Saturday with a Charleston that had everyone guilty of grinning.
02:05But first, let's remind ourselves of their last dance.
02:11You came back with a bang!
02:14I think you came out of your box today, and I think that was a job well done.
02:21It needed to be loosened up a little bit. I felt you played it a little bit too safe.
02:26The timing was immaculate, the synchronicity was really banged on. This is your best dance!
02:34It's Stefan and Diane, everybody!
02:42So good!
02:43Aw, Stefan, we're so sad to hear the news!
02:45You're sad!
02:46I know!
02:47Can you tell us a little bit more about what led to you having to withdraw from the competition?
02:51Sadly, I got an injury on Saturday and it was diagnosed yesterday and I was told the bad news that I tore my calf muscle quite badly.
03:03To the point where I can't dance for the rest of the competition. In fact, I can't dance full stop.
03:09Aw, you can dance now! You can!
03:12But just do a sat-down version of everything, do you know what I mean? Give me the rest!
03:15I can do a lot of that!
03:16Yeah, exactly!
03:17That one's great!
03:18Get the one good calf up, you know?
03:21But Diane, you must be guided about leaving the competition as well.
03:24And there's been a lot of chatter online about the reasons behind why Stefan left.
03:27But is there anything that you'd like to add about saying goodbye?
03:30Yeah, I mean, obviously it's definitely not a conspiracy theory.
03:34No!
03:35You know, I feel great and obviously I would love to continue with Stefan.
03:42I just wish you the best in your recovery and I want to say you were absolutely phenomenal and I enjoyed my time with you so, so, so much.
03:53But I'm very proud of you.
03:56It's been a hard run but it's been fun.
03:58It's been so much fun.
03:59He brought you a bit of home, Di. He brought you a bit of home.
04:01He definitely brought me a bit of home and I appreciate that so much.
04:06It's the first time I've ever had a fellow Aussie dancing with me and I've really enjoyed it. Honestly, I really have. Thank you.
04:13I've enjoyed Team Aussie as well.
04:15Yeah.
04:16Well, let's go back to Saturday night because it was a great night for the two of you.
04:19Your reactions though when you finished your dance were so sweet.
04:23You were both so thrilled.
04:25Why? Why such a joyful reaction at the end of it?
04:27Because we knew we were going to have a chocolate.
04:29Yeah, we did.
04:31We just, I mean, we worked, as everyone does in this competition, we worked extremely hard but there'd been a few, it's been a rocky road, hasn't it?
04:43I mean, apart from the fact that, you know, I had great fear and trepidation for the first couple of dancers and it took me a while to get past that and then I got lumbered with the whole vertigo thing and that sort of put me out.
04:54And then came back and came back, as they all say, with a bang on Saturday night.
04:59Yes.
05:00And I thought, this is it, we've got it, we've got it, we're going to go.
05:02Yeah.
05:03And it was a big bang because it was also, you scored a 26, your highest scoring dance in the whole series.
05:08Yeah, it was pretty darn good for non-battle.
05:09Monty said it was your best dance yet.
05:11Yes.
05:12Come on.
05:13Yeah.
05:14So you can leave with your head held high, you know, because surely there is some kind of small consolation in getting that kind of feedback on your last dance.
05:21Oh, yeah, that was tremendous.
05:23I mean, if they'd given me five, I still would have been happy.
05:26Only because I thought that dance was absolutely brilliant.
05:28Yeah.
05:29We just had the best fun.
05:30It was so much fun.
05:31And I think because we had fun, we both, we committed to having fun before we went out.
05:35And because we did that, we did and the dance went off without a hitch.
05:38We took the pressure off ourselves and exactly what you said, we were like, let's go and have a good time out there.
05:44And we definitely did that.
05:45And it is.
05:46It's a win in my eyes.
05:47I genuinely said to him after, I said, anything can happen now.
05:52And this happened.
05:53So it was you.
05:55I didn't mean that.
05:56I didn't mean that.
05:57But I was so proud of what you did on Saturday night that I thought, I feel complete.
06:03Yeah, good.
06:04So, you know, we did leave with a bang and we left on a very positive note.
06:08And I just wanted him to have that confidence.
06:10Yes.
06:11This wasn't about me.
06:12This was about him gaining confidence.
06:14And Saturday night, he gained so much confidence.
06:17He did.
06:18And he gained confidence throughout the series.
06:19So why don't we have a look at your journey during your time on Strictly?
06:23Shall we?
06:24Let's have it.
06:25I've got the two greatest left feet in the world.
06:28But I'm going to take the bull by the horns and go for it.
06:31Your first dance, the foxtrot.
06:37Bang.
06:38Right.
06:39This is it.
06:40We're on, baby.
06:41I'm actually impressed.
06:42I think we have a ballroom king on our way.
06:45This super summer's giving me a cuddle move.
06:48This week, Diane and I are doing the cha-cha-cha.
06:52Yeah, yeah, yeah.
06:54Stefan and I make a great partnership.
06:57It's two Aussies together in a room.
06:59We just understand each other.
07:01I don't want you ever to forget about us.
07:03I know that you're better than what you delivered today.
07:06And sometimes it happens to the best.
07:08I want to let you know that you are doing a fabulous job out there.
07:11You are.
07:16It's movie week.
07:17Now, Stefan and Diane aren't with us.
07:20Under doctor's orders, I was advised to take it easy for a few days.
07:24But I am back on board this week and I'm going to nail it.
07:27We're dancing the Charleston, which is one of my favourite dancers.
07:32I'm actually a little bit excited about this one.
07:37That was your best dance!
07:39Yeah!
07:43To lead the show is disappointing because it's been fun.
07:47I'm over the moon that I've got Diane as a partner.
07:50Because she has got the patience of a saint, she's got a great aura about her.
07:55It's so lovely to be around.
07:57I couldn't imagine myself being a partner with anyone else.
08:00Three months ago, if you'd said, you're going to be on Strictly and you're going to be a dancer,
08:04I would have gone, yeah, right.
08:06But it has been an amazing experience.
08:15Hi!
08:16Good one.
08:17You're a legend.
08:18You are a legend.
08:19Now, Stefan, you entered this competition so that you can go back and dance with your wife, Gail.
08:24Yeah.
08:25But what else are you going to carry with you from this whole experience?
08:28Well, it's something that Diane said, and that is, I, yes, that was the number one thing for me,
08:34was to learn to be able to take my beautiful wife on the dance floor.
08:40And Diane has given me, Diane and Strictly, but Diane has taught me how to actually overcome the fear of,
08:47oh, I can't dance, I can't dance, and actually say to myself now, you know what, I can dance.
08:52You are a dancer, baby!
08:54Mission accomplished!
08:55Definitely can.
08:56Well, it's been a pleasure watching the two of you.
08:58We're going to miss you, but let's hear it one more time for Stefan and Diane!
09:01Aww!
09:04Yeah.
09:05Now, sadly, we have to say goodbye to Stefan and Diane, but for Jimmy, Karen, Lewis and Amber,
09:11Saturday night is round the corner and they're all gearing up for ICONS Week.
09:15Here's how they're getting on in training.
09:17Toe, toe.
09:18In the Americans move, we have a lot of moments in hold.
09:21Back.
09:22It's about getting the posture right and getting the neck long.
09:27Back.
09:28It's a lot of toes and heels.
09:30Heel, heel toe, heel.
09:31Heel toe.
09:32Heel toe.
09:33Hit forward.
09:34That was really good.
09:35I do think there's an element of boring boy in the way that Jimmy dances.
09:39Anything else?
09:40Oh, there's so many things, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank.
09:43So many things.
09:44The fluidity in the rhomba is the most difficult part.
09:49There's a lot of hip movement.
09:51There's a lot of foot control.
09:52Yeah.
09:53Four.
09:54That's your timing.
09:55There's about a billion types of walking.
09:57Oh, delay delay delay delay.
09:59We're going to really slow down everything.
10:02I think in this one I'll be able to really take my time and we haven't had that chance yet.
10:08Extend and zoom, go, go, go.
10:11Ha!
10:12Beautiful.
10:13In quick step, everything's got to be pulled up and stretched like a string of a guitar.
10:20Ping!
10:21And ping, ping, ping, ping.
10:23There's a lot of ping.
10:25It seems to be our new word at the minute.
10:27Ping.
10:28It's ping.
10:29Yeah, it's got to be like ping.
10:31Ping!
10:32It just kind of makes you jump into the next moment.
10:35Oh, one, two, three, four, five.
10:36Ping!
10:41I actually find the cha-cha-cha difficult for one reason.
10:45It's all about legwork and footwork.
10:47This possibly may be just the hardest step.
10:50Okay.
10:51Straight away.
10:52Yeah, nice.
10:53It's actually all about technique.
10:54You do.
10:55Let me see from the front.
10:56Go.
10:57Knees together.
10:58Feet together.
10:59It's quite an unnatural feeling.
11:02Your feet are sometimes a bit...
11:04But mine are the general, like the general feet.
11:08My feet.
11:10Next up.
11:11In the red corner, the couple with big hair, big moves, and a cha-cha-cha that took quite
11:22the blow.
11:23It's LaVuan Aliash.
11:24And in the blue corner, four judges who pack a mean right hook and delivered a score that
11:34wasn't quite the knockout our duo hoped for.
11:37It's the Strictly judges.
11:39Five, four will come out on top.
11:42Let's remind ourselves of their performance.
11:49There was no rotation.
11:51There was no hip action.
11:52Your legs were bent instead of straight throughout.
11:55The bum spin.
11:56Your legs were fully akimbo, darling.
11:59Try to get a bit more flexibility in our body.
12:02A little bit more leg action.
12:04You never got off to a good start from the beginning.
12:07You just had one of those days.
12:10But we love you.
12:11You can come back strong from this.
12:14It's Chris and Eliash, everyone.
12:21Right.
12:22Let's go straight into Saturday night.
12:24We've got to.
12:25I couldn't watch that.
12:26I've never watched that.
12:27You sat there and go, I can't look at myself.
12:28I can't look at it.
12:29But when I watch it back, she did the choreography she was given.
12:32She did.
12:33But not exactly the way it was supposed to go.
12:37No.
12:38OK, I'll take that.
12:39So what do you make of the night then?
12:40What was it?
12:41I just think the size of the hair and the boxing ring and there's so many factors that were added in.
12:48I'm blaming Wardrobe because she was perfect.
12:52She was great, yeah.
12:53No, you know, it wasn't a great night.
12:55And it was so disappointing when you put that many hours of training and training for it to go that wrong.
12:58I was genuinely mortified watching it back for her.
13:01I just think like, you know.
13:02It happens.
13:03It happens to professionals.
13:04It happens all the time.
13:05Sometimes live is live, isn't it?
13:06It's live.
13:07That's true.
13:08And that's genuinely so nice to hear because I think as a celebrity on this, you feel like you guys just get it right all the time.
13:13Oh, no, no, no, no.
13:14And then I started work with Aliash and I was like, oh, it goes wrong and wrong.
13:17Exactly.
13:18Exhibit A.
13:19I'm kidding.
13:20But Aliash, the cha-cha-cha isn't an easy dance at all.
13:24So how impressed were you with the fact that Chris just kept like, well, the war kept like fighting through all the way to the end?
13:29Yeah, I mean.
13:30She didn't stop.
13:31No, it was impossible.
13:33Which would have been easier.
13:34In a way, maybe better.
13:35No, I'm joking.
13:36Do you know what?
13:37It was, it's funny.
13:39Just checking you're paying attention this time.
13:41Yes.
13:43Well done.
13:44Oh, I like that's my favorite one ever.
13:47Do you know what?
13:48I'm very impressed because in cha-cha-cha, if you unintentionally do a step on a one.
13:53Yeah.
13:54And then you try to keep it up and try to get back into the stepping on a two, it's impossible.
14:00And I'm really glad that we had a couple of moments in the routine where we kind of sort of went to a little bit of a boxing sequence.
14:06So we kind of could get away from the cha-cha-cha for a second to get back into it.
14:10Although when it went really wrong, that could have gone really wrong.
14:13Imagine if it went wrong.
14:14Imagine if that went wrong, I wouldn't be sitting here.
14:17Medics don't stand by.
14:18Well, you did, Lavoie did say to the judges that if they would have judged the routine, what it looked like on the Wednesday, it would have gotten very different scores.
14:26Yes.
14:27So shall we have a look at what it looked like on Wednesday?
14:29No.
14:30Yes.
14:31No.
14:32Show everyone.
14:33Yes.
14:34What if it's worse?
14:35Cha-cha, wait.
14:36Cha-cha-cha.
14:37Cha-cha-cha.
14:38Wait for me.
14:39Two and three.
14:40Four and one.
14:41Two and three.
14:42Four and one.
14:43Wow.
14:44Yes.
14:46Well done.
14:47Jeanette, you've saved me from the nation embarrassment.
14:49I've saved you.
14:50You're so welcome.
14:51We wore colour tonight because you wanted to be uplifted, didn't you?
14:53Yeah.
14:54Because normally when we're on here with Fleur, she wears beiges and things, you know, earth tones.
14:58I mean, to be fair, I'm brown as well.
15:00Well, I didn't like to say, but you do love an earth tone.
15:02I do, I do.
15:03It suits the vibe.
15:04I can't comment.
15:05Listen, moving on.
15:06We need to move on because we're going to talk about the judges' comments now.
15:09Yes.
15:10You're not the nicest, but you both reacted like this to the score that Shirley gave you.
15:17I mean, I don't really know what we were expecting.
15:19I know.
15:20But what went through your mind, Aliash?
15:21When you saw the two, what went through your mind?
15:23Completely nothing, to be honest.
15:25It was, I was expecting that it's not going to be kind.
15:28But when I saw a two, I was, I was a little bit surprised.
15:31But look, we, I feel like because the dance could have been really, really well and maybe
15:36the two was more sort of the, along the lines of knowing how good it could have been.
15:41And it never really got there.
15:43Sort of along the lines of what she said.
15:45I do understand.
15:46But yeah, two was harsh though.
15:48But it's okay.
15:49It's okay.
15:50You know why?
15:51Because you're still here.
15:52You're still here.
15:53Yes.
15:54And do you know what?
15:55It could have been my lowest point, but I think it was my strongest week because I got the support of the nation behind it.
15:59You did.
16:00Which was a beautiful thing.
16:01Exactly that.
16:02So thank you.
16:03And you're coming back with a bang because you're doing a cha-cha, well you're doing a salsa this week.
16:06Yeah.
16:07And you're going to be doing it as Cher.
16:08Yes.
16:09And you are dancing to this.
16:11Oh, I'm strong enough.
16:14That is strong enough by Cher, the goddess, the goddess of pop.
16:19The goddess.
16:20Absolute goddess of pop.
16:21What was going through Lavoie's mind when she got Cher?
16:23Oh, and she's so excited.
16:24I mean, she's been doing Cher since the first facelift that Cher had.
16:28And now we're into double figures of the facelifts and Cher, you know, Cher's still going, Lavoie's still going.
16:33I think it's one of her favourite divas.
16:35She's iconic.
16:36Yes.
16:37She never lets Fia show in a Cher show.
16:39So Lavoie's got to channel that as well.
16:41Yeah.
16:42But the timing, Aliash, in the cha-cha-cha is tricky.
16:44Yeah.
16:45And the timing in the salsa is also a bit tricky.
16:46It's a one, two, three, a five, six, seven.
16:48So because of what happened last weekend.
16:50Oh, those are the counts.
16:51You're welcome.
16:52I'm here every week.
16:54But the counts for the salsa are also a bit tricky.
16:55So what are you doing to make sure that this week we hopefully don't get a repeat?
16:58What are you doing?
16:59In the face.
17:00What are we not doing?
17:01Because we can't have a two again.
17:02To get it right now.
17:03Do you know what?
17:04Salsa is one of those dances that it's a social dance that's supposed to be filled with fun and everything.
17:09Plus, cha-cha to step on the two, try at the home.
17:12It's really difficult to do that.
17:14Salsa is much more sort of to the rhythm.
17:17Yes.
17:18It flows better.
17:19I think song is perfect for our salsa.
17:21Yes.
17:22It's very upbeat.
17:23And I think we both love it.
17:24It's going to be amazing.
17:25And we've been working with Jenny and Sean on the choreography.
17:26Oh, it's just incredible.
17:27It's been incredible.
17:28It's been really nice.
17:29Finally have a good choreographer this week.
17:31Structure.
17:32Structure.
17:33But listen, you are here.
17:35We are so happy to still have you here.
17:36Good luck at the weekend.
17:37Thank goodness, Jeannette.
17:38You're going to be amazing to share.
17:39Thank goodness, Jeannette.
17:40Make sure you share-ish every moment.
17:42Oh, sorry, share-ish.
17:43Right?
17:44You ruined the joke.
17:45I'm sorry.
17:46I'm sorry.
17:47You could have said coming back with a bang, bang, a share.
17:49That would have been good.
17:50Right, okay, right.
17:51I believe this is happening.
17:52It's Chris and Alya.
17:53Oh, my gosh.
17:57I love these two.
17:58Next up.
17:59These girls don't just dance, they dish.
18:01A place where no question is too tricky and no costume secret stays hidden.
18:05It's time for Ask the Pros.
18:07Here come the girls.
18:21It's Luba.
18:22Nancy and Michelle.
18:24Here come the girls.
18:30Hello.
18:31Hello.
18:32And we go.
18:36Oh, I see.
18:37Like the judges.
18:38Like the judges do.
18:40Well, hello, ladies.
18:41Hello.
18:42This is nice.
18:43Now, we have a lot of questions, so I think we should go straight into it.
18:46Is that okay?
18:47Yeah.
18:48We're going to kick it off with you, Michelle.
18:49So this question has come in from Jeff in South Oxfordshire.
18:51I would love to know how long it takes professionals to learn a new routine.
18:55They have so many dances with their celebrities and with the professional dances.
18:59They must be constantly learning new choreography.
19:02This is true.
19:03It sort of becomes our life, just learning new choreography.
19:06I mean, during the time where we learn all the group numbers in the beginning,
19:09we learn a different dance every day.
19:11Yeah.
19:12So is that nine to five?
19:13Yeah.
19:14To learn a new dance?
19:15Yeah.
19:16And then by the end of that period, so that month,
19:18I think we're all having to buy more storage.
19:20Well, there are some days where we didn't learn it yet on the day.
19:24Yeah.
19:25Yeah, so we're needing to buy more brain storage.
19:27A very brain storage.
19:28Exactly.
19:29But it all comes out in the end.
19:30Yes.
19:31It all comes out.
19:32For the music acts, we've got about a couple of hours, I'd say.
19:33Yeah.
19:34At most to choreograph and film it.
19:37Yeah.
19:38It's kind of long.
19:39Not long.
19:40But Nancy, this one is for you and it's from Emma in Ireland.
19:42She is asking, hi, Nancy.
19:44In the past years, what has been your favorite dance to teach your celebrity partners?
19:47What style has been your dance to teach?
19:49Well, say hi to Emma first.
19:50Yes.
19:51Hello.
19:52I think for me, you see, my personality is really loud and dramatic.
19:57No.
19:58So obviously, I love all the dramatic dance to teach them.
20:01Pastor Dobli was definitely one of them.
20:03That's your favorite.
20:04Yeah, because you can show the face, show the shape.
20:06Power.
20:07Yes.
20:08Drama.
20:09Drama.
20:10It's this waka.
20:11Yeah, waka.
20:12My favorite Nancy word.
20:13Waka.
20:14Samantha in Teesside wants to know, how do you like to unwind after rehearsals and also
20:19the live shows?
20:20What do you do to relax after a busy day?
20:22What is that?
20:23I don't know.
20:24Unwind?
20:25Unwind?
20:26Unwind.
20:27I guess I will be in my pyjama with my face mask, watching a movie and sending you
20:36some gifs.
20:37Yes, you do send me a lot of gifs.
20:39You should see my phone.
20:40Okay.
20:41It's Luba all over the DMs.
20:42All right, this is for all of you.
20:43Yeah.
20:44And it's from Freya.
20:45So I'm going to start with you, Michelle.
20:46Which icon would you want to be on Icon Week?
20:48It's got to be Beyonce.
20:50Beyonce, Nancy.
20:51Lucy Liu.
20:52Lucy Liu.
20:53Lucy Liu.
20:54Luba.
20:55Citrus.
20:56Iconic, ladies.
20:58I think we should do a pros one where all of you get to be our icons.
21:01That would be amazing, wouldn't it?
21:02That would be amazing.
21:03I'm going to pitch it as next year's pro dance.
21:04Okay.
21:05Michelle, this question is from Malcolm in Sheffield.
21:07Malcolm.
21:08Do you get as excited as the celebs do when you see your new costumes for the first
21:11time?
21:12And are you allowed to keep your favorites?
21:14Do you know, I do get as excited because actually we don't see the costumes until the
21:18day of the show because I know Vicky and her team are so busy.
21:21Yes.
21:22They've got so much to do.
21:23So sometimes they're not ready until the very last moment and then you see it and it's
21:26like, wow.
21:27Sometimes you're on the stairs and they're still stitching you.
21:29They're still stitching you like five seconds before you go on.
21:31Yeah.
21:32So yeah, they're always incredible.
21:33Do I get to keep them?
21:35I have an idea.
21:36Shh.
21:37I don't know.
21:38Okay, Nancy.
21:40Rania sent us this question for you.
21:42Is there a specific song you've always wanted to dance to and also what has been your favorite
21:47group routine you've done on Strictly?
21:49Okay.
21:50I'm going to answer opposite.
21:51Okay.
21:52The group routine you may find out by the end of the season.
21:56Ooh.
21:57There's one coming out?
21:58And one of my favorite dances I've done, which I just did, it was guest music cut.
22:04Guest music.
22:05You were amazing.
22:06Reflections.
22:07With Lang Lang doing Mulan.
22:08Oh.
22:09Yes, with Lang Lang and Goga.
22:11I remember I cried and I messaged you going, this was so beautiful.
22:15Okay.
22:16I was in motion when you sent me that.
22:17Yeah.
22:18I was already in motion and when I heard the voice message, I said, do you?
22:21It was beautiful.
22:22Okay.
22:23And lastly, this is for all of you again.
22:25Okay.
22:26Actually, sorry, not for all of you.
22:28Luba.
22:29Very important question.
22:30This is Luis from Germany.
22:31He's got in touch and this is, I'm really tall and my dance partner is slightly smaller than
22:36me.
22:37Do you have any advice for the ballroom dancers so that the leading and following works better
22:41and a hold looks better?
22:43So height difference.
22:44Right.
22:45How can you help?
22:46Well, funny enough, I've been there, done it a few times.
22:49Yes, you're too.
22:50You know what?
22:51And I'm short.
22:52Demo time.
22:53Let's demo it.
22:54Let's demo it.
22:57Right.
22:58This is so nice.
22:59This is awesome.
23:00Will you be my follower?
23:01I will be a follower.
23:02Right.
23:03So I will be a leader, you will be a follower.
23:04Yes.
23:05I will do the ballroom hold.
23:06In this case, I will obviously have to have a lower heel and she will need to have the
23:11highest heels.
23:12Highest heels.
23:13And this arm is very important because we bring it to the height of the eyes of the
23:17follower.
23:18Yes.
23:19And that way we're going to have not too lovely.
23:22Oh, thank you.
23:23Beautiful.
23:24I should dance.
23:25You should.
23:26Think about it.
23:27And in case of opposites, if you will be a follower, which you are a wonderful follower,
23:32I obviously go shorter heels and I will really go down with my knees and create a more shape
23:40in the up body.
23:42So then, but this is beautiful.
23:45And then this will be...
23:46This is gorgeous.
23:47This is gorgeous.
23:48You only look that good because I'm leading.
23:50Absolutely.
23:51Because in case of our situation with the hugs, this is our usual hug, which we do, which
23:57I am much taller than you.
23:58I'm like about three foot off the floor when you do that.
24:01Okay.
24:02Last question.
24:03This is the last question.
24:04Yeah.
24:05The judge wants to know about hidden talents.
24:07So give me one word.
24:08Three, two, one.
24:09Hidden talent.
24:10Big.
24:11Big.
24:12Singing.
24:13They're hidden for a reason.
24:14Acting.
24:15Acting.
24:16Right.
24:17Ladies, this has been fun.
24:18We could talk all day.
24:19Let's hear it for Luba, Nancy and Michelle.
24:26All of them.
24:27All of them.
24:28Next, our last couple took to the ballroom with a tango worthy of a king and queen.
24:32And despite the tiny royal slip up, the judges still crowned it a success.
24:36Let's remind ourselves of that majestic dance.
24:41You have a quietness about what you're doing, which is so important.
24:46Keep that and work on the other bits.
24:49I love the storytelling.
24:50And then in the middle, it got a little bit lost.
24:52I saw this tanglement and then this weaving on the wrong side, the wrong fork going in.
24:57You have an intense way of moving.
24:59You use the floor.
25:00You have such a strong focus.
25:03You are amazing.
25:04I love the whole world.
25:07It is George and Alexis, everyone.
25:13Wee.
25:15A true royal affair on the dance floor.
25:18How was Saturday night for you?
25:19It was good fun.
25:21I feel like I did it okay.
25:24More than okay.
25:25More than okay.
25:26I was a bit annoyed.
25:27More than okay.
25:28I feel like I get in my head about things.
25:29You do get in your head about things.
25:30We're going to talk about that in a second.
25:31Yeah.
25:32But you said that you used some of your Paso flair though.
25:35Yes.
25:36That you brought into the tango.
25:37So can you tell us any particular moments where you really felt like the Paso really helped?
25:41I feel like the initial, the sort of start pulling her off the throne and sort of that whole back and forth, that felt a little bit Paso-y.
25:49The drama of it.
25:50Yeah.
25:51And the end as well, that felt very Paso-y.
25:54The battle.
25:55The battle scenes.
25:56Where he wanted the end.
25:57Yeah.
25:58Again.
25:59And Alexis, George is really starting to embrace and understand dance now on a much deeper level.
26:05As a teacher though, how valuable is it to see that kind of growth happening within him?
26:10It's so validating and special.
26:13And just seeing him blossom, understand things, it is so cool to watch.
26:19Yeah.
26:20And I think that is the most like magical part about this job is seeing someone who's never done any of this before understand and just grow.
26:27I know.
26:28And I'm just so proud.
26:29He's going, oh, I know what that means now.
26:31I love it.
26:32We watch videos back and I don't even have to say anything sometimes because he's like, oh, I did this, did this, did this.
26:38That's a special sticker for you as a student, that one.
26:41Well, George, it seems that the more you immerse yourself into the dance world, the more you've got your own dance lingo going on.
26:48Shall we have a look at this?
26:49Let's do it.
26:50Yeah.
26:51Don't you dare take those tiki tiki's away from me.
26:52I've not spent any time on the tiki tiki's.
26:54Just let them.
26:55Well, I want to get the flow of them.
26:56Let them marinate.
26:57You like the tiki tiki's now, don't you?
26:59Well, maybe the tiki tiki's can stay.
27:02So, we need to know what is a tiki tiki and can you show us?
27:06We can show you a tiki tiki.
27:07Yeah, let's have some music.
27:08Let's have some music.
27:09Show us the tiki tiki.
27:10It's a syncopated sashay.
27:11I know exactly what that means.
27:12How am I going this way?
27:15You're going here.
27:16Oh, gosh.
27:17You're going to go this foot first.
27:18We go tiki tiki and then we have to go into our next shape.
27:22Aha.
27:23So, it's a syncopated sashay.
27:24Syncopated sashay.
27:25I think I prefer calling it a tiki tiki.
27:27Oh, it's a lot.
27:28It's a lot.
27:29It's a lot of frustration.
27:30I just stood in front of you for a bit.
27:33I'm sure the camera enjoyed it.
27:36I'm glad that we got the explanation from Alexis.
27:39Yeah.
27:40But the title from you.
27:41So, we'll go with that.
27:42Now that you have had...
27:43Now, listen.
27:44I know the tiki tiki is exciting.
27:46Yes.
27:47But we've got to talk about this.
27:48Yes.
27:49The mistake.
27:50It wasn't a mistake.
27:51It is a mistake.
27:52I know you don't want to dwell on it and you don't want to talk about it too much.
27:54But can we talk about it?
27:55Of course.
27:56Can you clear it up?
27:57Um, no.
27:58I...
27:59It's...
28:00Yeah.
28:01I think I...
28:02In, like, reality, it's not...
28:04It wasn't like a big thing.
28:06But because I know I could have done it better, it was just like playing on my mind.
28:11Yeah.
28:12Because like all the run-throughs beforehand, that wasn't a thing.
28:14Yeah.
28:15So, like, the fact that it did happen, I think I was just in my head like, oh, I could have done better, but...
28:19Yeah.
28:20But listen, you weren't Lavoie.
28:21Well...
28:24No, but I mean that in a...
28:25Like, it happens.
28:26Yeah.
28:27It's just about carrying on and you did it.
28:28You carried on beautifully.
28:29Oh, thank you.
28:30And you carried on so well that you are through to this week.
28:32Yes.
28:33Yes!
28:34I'm not going to lie, I am extra excited for yours because your icon is Harry Styles.
28:38I thought I was going to say disappointed.
28:39People know.
28:40People know.
28:41And you're down to your jive to this.
28:45That is As It Was by Harry Styles.
28:49How are you going to embody the character of the biggest heartthrob, Harry Styles?
28:54Well, I feel like I've been doing it for the last few years.
28:56Don't disappoint me.
28:57No.
28:58I feel like he's very just sort of in his own world when he's on stage and just enjoying himself.
29:05You look good.
29:06I don't know about that.
29:07You've got Harry Styles vibe shoes going on there.
29:09I look sweaty is what I learned actually.
29:12He's locked in.
29:13Yeah.
29:14But Alexis, the judges were a little bit split when it came to kind of the synchronization
29:18that the two of you had in the couple's choice.
29:20There's a lot of side-by-side dancing that exists in the jive.
29:22So how are you working on that to try and make sure it really gets together?
29:26I think we're really drilling it and making sure that we're cleaning everything.
29:31It has a little bit more freedom in the upper body, so I'm not having us be too in sync,
29:36but at least the legs we're trying to make super clear.
29:39A lot of repetition.
29:40A lot of repetition.
29:41A lot of repetition.
29:42And freedom in the upper body, which is lovely.
29:43Of course.
29:44Yes, of course it is.
29:45Yes.
29:46Well, good luck.
29:47I know how proper you are.
29:48Good luck at the weekend.
29:49I can't wait to see you as Harry Styles.
29:51I don't know if you know, but I'm a mega fan.
29:53I can tell.
29:54Harry, if you're watching, I can't wait.
29:55But anyways, it's George and Alexis, everybody.
30:01That's all for tonight.
30:02I'm back tomorrow with Amber and Nikita and Louis and Katya.
30:05Plus, the fabulous Vicky Gill will be giving us a sneak peek at her dazzling looks for Icons Week.
30:11And Tasha Gori will be going behind the scenes to get all the ballroom backstage gossip.
30:16All from 6.30 tomorrow.
30:17Have a great evening, everyone.
30:19Bye-bye.
30:21Bye-bye.
