00:00Please welcome your host, Jeanette Munraro.
00:24Hello, and welcome to your Wednesday fill of It Takes Two, live on BBC Two and iPlayer.
00:36We're halfway through the week and our couples are well and truly getting into the groove
00:40of things ahead of Saturday, but boy do they have a lot to prove this weekend as two of
00:45our celebs will be facing the dreaded elimination.
00:48Could it be one of tonight's fabulous four to face the red light?
00:52He showed us a different meaning of a cha-cha slide, but having slid all the way down to
00:56the bottom of the leaderboard, will Ross and Yavita be able to waltz their way back up to
01:01the top?
01:03We couldn't blue weave our eyes with Jimmy and Lauren's quick step, will they be able
01:07to keep it up and champion the cha-cha-cha?
01:10And with good neighbors comes great foxtrots, but can this rising ballroom king successfully
01:16swap his smooth sway for a chasse?
01:20And it's not It Takes Two without a little treat for you all.
01:23We have an exclusive look at some of this weekend's dances with our first visit into the training
01:27rooms.
01:28Wow, we really do spoil you, don't we?
01:30And remember, you can send our couples your questions or comments to our WhatsApp number
01:350800-0223801 or just scan the QR code on your screen or email us at ittakes2 at bbc.co.uk.
01:43But now, our first celeb didn't miss a kick, flick, cartwheel flip, or split on Saturday
01:52night.
01:52I'm out of breath just saying it.
01:54Here's a reminder of that jam-packed jive.
01:57This energy, like dynamite, you attack that dance, I absolutely adore it.
02:07Sometimes less is more, and I don't think you need all the highlights and tricks because
02:12I actually believe that you could be a fantastic dancer.
02:16This is excellent.
02:17You've got it all going on.
02:18It's all fabulous.
02:19You're going to be marvelous in this series.
02:20I can feel it.
02:21It's Lewis and Katya.
02:26Wow.
02:27What a first dance to do.
02:28Did you like it?
02:29Did you like it?
02:30I loved it.
02:31I was screaming at the TV watching it on Saturday night with Lyra asleep, thank God.
02:36But I mean, that was amazing.
02:37How did it go for you?
02:38What was it like for you to do it on Saturday night?
02:40It was like more than we expected completely.
02:43Like it just went perfect.
02:45The energy in there was wild.
02:47Yeah, I couldn't be happier really.
02:49I think it went really well.
02:50You know, you never know the first Saturday how the reaction of your celeb is going to
02:55be.
02:56And of course, you live with nerves, especially him, you know, starting separately.
03:00And I could just see his eyes light up.
03:03And when we came together, finally, just kept building and building and building.
03:07Yeah.
03:08It was so exciting to me today.
03:10At 4.29 a.m. I got a text message saying.
03:15That's very specific.
03:16Yes.
03:17Why does it feel like Christmas morning?
03:20Oh.
03:21I love that.
03:22Well, Strictly is the lead up to Christmas.
03:24So you're in the right ballpark of it all.
03:26Yeah.
03:27Well, usually we like to kind of spotlight one part of the dance, but you gave us too many
03:32options.
03:33So we decided to do a little compilation of them all.
03:35Have a look.
03:36I don't even know why I did that.
03:37Oh my gosh.
03:38Because you've got a celeb that, you know, you could do so much with him.
03:57What's it like to create choreography that can be challenging with someone that can actually
04:01kind of deliver it?
04:02It's challenging for me.
04:03Yeah.
04:04I'll tell you that.
04:05Honestly, you have to balance putting in content for the judges and actually doing the style,
04:11the jive and all the basic moves within it and making it entertaining for the audience
04:16whilst creating something that you're comfortable with.
04:19So we did have to put a few changes into the routine, didn't we?
04:23Yeah.
04:24But also, I always love to leave a little window of opportunity for them to put their stamp
04:28on, you know, and be like, right.
04:30Like the table part, I didn't even choreograph.
04:33I just said, let's feel.
04:35What do you feel?
04:36What do you hear?
04:37Show me some moves.
04:38You definitely christened that for the first time.
04:41I mean, it's brave, isn't it?
04:43It is brave.
04:44I mean, they were literally watching your feet for moment one.
04:47It was amazing.
04:48But it was a really special night for you, Lewis, because you had some very special guests
04:51in the audience.
04:52Auntie Caroline and Nana Dot, who I'm obsessed with.
04:55What did they make of the jive?
04:56What did they think?
04:57They loved it.
04:58And obviously, they've watched the show forever.
05:00So I think they never thought that they'd ever be in the studio.
05:03And for me, Nana to be there was just lovely.
05:05It was a really nice night.
05:06And I've seen some clips of like the two of you and Katia dancing.
05:09It's been beautiful.
05:10Yeah.
05:11Right.
05:12We're going to move on to the judge's comments, including Craig's.
05:14You're very good, darling.
05:17I mean, what was it like knowing that you left Craig almost speechless?
05:22Like, I wasn't expecting it, really.
05:25Yeah.
05:26I mean, it couldn't have got any better, really.
05:28I mean, it's hard to get anything from Craig.
05:31Positive.
05:32But to say you are very good, darling.
05:36If I think it's a big deal.
05:39I'm not going to lie.
05:40I did see Katia's face standing next to you when that happened.
05:42Like, the biggest grin.
05:43Checha Kat.
05:44Yeah.
05:45Well, let's move on to this week.
05:46You did an incredible week one.
05:48But now this week, you're doing a new dance.
05:49You're doing the Viennese Waltz to this.
05:51Come loose.
05:53Come loose.
05:54I love this song.
05:55Loose control.
05:56Teddy swim.
05:57Powerful.
05:58What a beautiful piece of music to dance to.
06:00This is a complete 180 in terms of tempo compared to what you just did.
06:05Yeah.
06:06So are you looking forward to kind of slowing things down and bringing the tempo down?
06:09Like, everyone keeps saying about, like, slowing it down.
06:12But to be honest, it feels harder work this week for me.
06:15Because, you know, the control of it and, like, it's much more strenuous, I would say.
06:20And the technique is very, very different, as you can see.
06:24I mean, this is you yesterday.
06:25Yeah.
06:26You've had today as well.
06:27And you've still got tomorrow.
06:28So this is looking really good already.
06:30Look at the sweat.
06:31What about Katia?
06:32This is the first time the judges are going to see Lewis in hall.
06:34They're going to see that frame come up.
06:35Yes, absolutely.
06:36How is it shaping up?
06:37Are you happy with it?
06:38Are you liking what you're seeing?
06:39Um, good thing about Lewis is he watches back and self-cleans and self-improves.
06:47And the other day, he watched it.
06:49We trained and trained and I kept telling him we need to expand more.
06:52You've got to open up the shoulder.
06:53It feels like craziness to get to that shape.
06:56Yeah.
06:57Like, it feels enormous.
06:58And I think I'm doing it.
06:59And then when I watch back, I'm like, I'm almost like this.
07:01No!
07:02Yeah!
07:03So that's the thing.
07:04It's learning these new feelings, new sensations.
07:07And, you know, I keep telling him, you know, when I say chin up, like,
07:11you really have to put the chin up, yeah.
07:13Yeah.
07:14But, um, I think you're getting the essence.
07:17The beauty of you as a student, as a dancer, is you don't just do steps.
07:22You understand the essence of the dance.
07:24Yeah, but I think because you can really channel your acting skills for this one.
07:28So we're going to see a beautiful different version of Lewis.
07:31Absolutely.
07:32It's very different.
07:33Well, we wish you both the best of luck.
07:34If it's anything to go by, we're in for another great performance on the weekend.
07:37Let's hear it for Lewis and Katja.
07:40Our next collab reported live from Maelstree as he dazzled his way down onto the Strictly
07:47dance floor.
07:48But with the Lewis score of the evening, he's hoping his next dance will keep him on the
07:52red carpet and out of the red light.
07:54I think that you show promise.
07:58I love your attitude.
07:59Go back, study hard, you know, and keep working on the same things.
08:03Not a good one, Kiana.
08:05Very awkward and very pigeon-toed.
08:09It was very uplifting.
08:11I enjoyed it.
08:12Next week, come back with the same attitude, the same verb, the same performance, and just
08:17slightly more steps.
08:18And I think you'll do fine.
08:19A big hello to Ross Ingenita.
08:25Right, Ross, first dance out of the way.
08:27Yes.
08:28Done, you've done it.
08:29What would you sum up your first ever dance on Strictly like?
08:31Well, I looked on YouTube, and I looked in the dictionary under dance, and I couldn't
08:35see anything that related to what I actually did.
08:38Right.
08:39No.
08:40No, no, no, no, no.
08:41He's so quick to put himself down with the dancing.
08:44We had fun.
08:45I know.
08:46But he gives it his all.
08:47Yes.
08:48Were you surprised with what he delivered on Saturday night?
08:50You know what, Jeanette?
08:51I'm so happy and pleased because I know that it didn't go as well as he wanted, but he
08:58never stopped.
08:59He continued.
09:00He kept up.
09:01And in the end, that beautiful smile.
09:03Oh.
09:04And that's the most important thing.
09:06Like, the joy.
09:07Yes.
09:08Of dancing.
09:09And that was a week one, first live show.
09:10He never danced before.
09:12He honestly could not stop smiling watching you dance.
09:15Oh, thank you.
09:16That's so proud of you.
09:17Really, I mean that.
09:18You were fantastic.
09:19Well, I mean, I was.
09:20I genuinely was smiling because I was loving it.
09:21You see?
09:22And I think, you know, as you were saying, you know, and it is true.
09:25I have never danced.
09:26I can't dance.
09:27And that first week when you took me in the studio, at one point I did genuinely go,
09:31maybe I need to put my hand up and go, this is not for me because I just don't think I'll
09:35even get through, you know, the actual routine from start to finish.
09:39So to actually finish, start it and finish it, I was quite happy.
09:43And I think, obviously, Javita tried to kill me with a slide at the beginning.
09:47I did love the slide in the beginning.
09:49I nearly took out three camera men.
09:51And I was also really disappointed that Craig, I thought we were giving Craig the perfect, you know,
09:55it was downhill, Ross, and then it was downhill all the way after that.
09:58No, it was not.
09:59I thought you had the chance.
10:00No, I am not having it.
10:01I am not having it.
10:03I know there's a confident man in there.
10:04I know you've got it in there because we have a couple of clips from you in rehearsal
10:08doing some very interesting things that I think might be another talent you can have.
10:13Have a look.
10:14Tomorrow will be too late.
10:21It's now or never.
10:25My love won't wait.
10:30I might be guilty on that media.
10:33You look really confident then, right?
10:35Oh, that was fine.
10:36But how far out of your comfort zone are you with dancing?
10:39Well, if this is zone and this is comfort, it's like...
10:43It's just falling off the edge of the sofa.
10:46I mean, it's completely, completely out of my comfort zone.
10:50But I also, and I've said this many times, I'm so lucky to have this very special lady by my side
10:55to get me through and to keep building things up, build my confidence and to help.
11:00And you've never once lost your temper with me, lost patience.
11:04I mean, I don't think people realise the job that the professionals do on this show.
11:09You know, what you have to deal with, what you have to go through.
11:12You know, you're like a therapist.
11:14You're a trainer.
11:15You're a teacher.
11:16But she's here for you because she believes in you.
11:18We believe in you.
11:20It was week one.
11:21Week one.
11:22It was a week one.
11:23It was a very week one.
11:26But let's go on.
11:27You had some lovely people in the audience because your sister Elaine and your girlfriend Bridget
11:31were in the audience watching you and supporting you.
11:33They flew 5,000 miles to come and watch you.
11:36Yeah.
11:37What did they think of the dance?
11:38I...
11:40My sister Elaine is such a huge fan of Strictly.
11:44Oh, really?
11:45So she was just completely enamoured to be there and be part of the audience.
11:49And so, and she'd come down from Glasgow.
11:51Bridget had flown 5,000 miles because I said, get overnight because you never know.
11:55You know, you want to get in there quickly.
11:56Just in case.
11:57Just in case.
11:58Just in case.
11:59Just in case.
12:00You don't want to waste that ticket.
12:01Yeah.
12:02So, no, they had an absolutely bold.
12:03Good.
12:04Because you know what it's like in that studio, the atmosphere, you just cannot describe it.
12:07You can't explain the magic.
12:08No, exactly.
12:09But the good thing is you're going to feel it all over again.
12:11Absolutely.
12:12Because onwards and upwards as we step gracefully into this week's dance where you'll be doing
12:16the waltz to this.
12:19This is Sunshine on Leith, The Proclaimers.
12:22I mean, listen to that.
12:23How beautiful of Chloe is that?
12:26Talk me through the training room.
12:27How is it going this week, Ross?
12:29Again, you know, there is not one bit of our training that I have not enjoyed.
12:35Look at you.
12:36Look at that.
12:37I believe this was yesterday.
12:38How does AI suddenly put in a little fat stocksman?
12:41Look at that.
12:42This is really good, Ross.
12:43That is actually from today.
12:46This is today's rehearsal.
12:47Oh, wow.
12:48And yeah, Ross is doing so well.
12:51I think Borum is more close to your heart.
12:56Ooh.
12:57Because Ross loves a heel lead.
12:59Ah.
13:00He just adores starts from the heel.
13:03So this time is allowed.
13:05This time it's allowed.
13:06And it's important.
13:07So yes, he can do it.
13:09He loves the song.
13:10Oh, I get beautiful every time.
13:12Yes, actually, you do.
13:13I do.
13:14You do.
13:15Even now, I'm like.
13:16Aw.
13:17And it's just so beautiful because the song means a lot.
13:19We actually, we're dancing for Scotland this week.
13:23Beautiful.
13:24So we dedicate the dance to Scotland.
13:26So I think we need to go into this week with a massive smile, not just in your face but in your heart.
13:30Oh.
13:31Because you're going to be brilliant at the weekend.
13:32Absolutely.
13:33Well, thank you.
13:34Yes.
13:35We're going to do our best.
13:36I mean, as we always say, we do.
13:37That's the one thing.
13:38You know, I think what the judges said, I took a lot from it.
13:40Yes.
13:41I paid attention to what they were saying.
13:42Yeah.
13:43And I think they were fair.
13:44As I said, you could put all the heel leads you want on this one.
13:46Oh, my God.
13:47Best of luck for Saturday night.
13:48You're more than welcome.
13:49All right, let's hear it for Rosting Evita.
13:54They've tackled their first week on the dance floor.
13:56And from toe taps to mishaps, let's take a sneak peek at how Alex, Vicky Thomas and Harry are getting on with the training so far.
14:04One, two, three.
14:06I thought I knew about the song number, but I realized that I don't.
14:09Your legs go under together in the vent.
14:12You're under where?
14:13My leg.
14:14The first attempt we're not going to talk about.
14:16Now go all the way under, push us up.
14:18Nice.
14:19I don't even know how I'm going to be able to do that on the day.
14:23But I'm game.
14:28This week, Kai and I are going to be dancing the Foxtrot.
14:32Soft.
14:33Requires me to be a great big graceful giraffe.
14:35Mop, mop, mop, mop.
14:36Not your head.
14:37In reality, I'm just an angry little badger.
14:39Wee!
14:40Heel turns.
14:41Reverse turns.
14:42Turns.
14:43Little ronde.
14:44Keep saying ball tore.
14:45Bow's ball, ball flat.
14:46Ball, ball.
14:47And then finish on a ball flat.
14:48I don't know how to tell him.
14:49You may as well be speaking French.
14:50Okay.
14:52This week, we're doing the Salsa.
14:54I've never moved my hips in my life.
14:57But I'm going to give it a go.
14:58I'm going to do everything I possibly can to get those hips moving.
15:03Why is it so difficult?
15:05And I'm not going to give up.
15:07One.
15:08Two.
15:09Yay!
15:10Mate, what am I doing with my life?
15:11Tick.
15:12Tick.
15:13The quick step is very aerobic.
15:18Hop.
15:19Step.
15:20Hop.
15:21Step.
15:22Let's say you have a duck in the water.
15:23The legs are going really, really quick.
15:25The upper body is very, very still.
15:27I can feel that, yeah.
15:28Yeah.
15:29I'm used to going for 10 seconds, not 90 seconds for a full sprint.
15:32I felt the power.
15:33I've been holding back.
15:34You're like, all right.
15:35Where's my super pump?
15:40Our next celebrity is no stranger to impressive footwork.
15:43And after scoring a hat trick of sevens on Saturday night,
15:46they're determined to hassle bank another top place on the leaderboard.
15:53You moved wonderfully.
15:55Amazing flow.
15:56I thought that was a really, really excellent performance.
15:59Well done.
16:00You need to work on selling it.
16:03Like, enjoying more.
16:04And the joy you feel inside, spread it with us.
16:09Some beautiful footwork.
16:10A great frame.
16:11I mean, you're setting the bar for sure.
16:13Well done.
16:17It's Jimmy and Lauren.
16:20Well done.
16:21I just had to tell you again.
16:22Well done.
16:23You were brilliant on Saturday night.
16:25But you looked so calm.
16:26You were like cool, calm and collected in Claudia's area in the Claudatorium.
16:29What did you do to prep for the performance?
16:32I feel like there's something else happening.
16:34Nothing calm at all.
16:36He was nervous.
16:37Were you?
16:38Yeah.
16:39I was so nervous.
16:40Really, really so nervous.
16:42It's out of my comfort zone.
16:44Oh my gosh.
16:45I didn't know what was coming.
16:46And I was trying to hold it together.
16:48And I was trying to hold it together for you.
16:50No, no.
16:51You were amazing.
16:52You were brilliant.
16:53Like what she said.
16:54And to calm me down.
16:56And yeah, you can see just before we started that we had like a little moment.
17:02And yeah.
17:03Well, you could have fooled all of us really.
17:05Because you looked so calm.
17:06I loved it.
17:07It was amazing to see you so.
17:08Yeah, I've got this.
17:09But once you were on the dance floor and clearly you were in the zone, Lauren did her thing and you were ready to go.
17:14How different did it feel from when you were on the pitch?
17:17Oh, totally different.
17:18Oh, you can't compare the two.
17:20Better or worse?
17:21The nerves.
17:22Worse.
17:25Because, obviously, playing football, you just do easy.
17:30You just do.
17:31It's like how Lauren is dancing, really.
17:34Yeah.
17:35You know?
17:36And I am trying to concentrate at the steps.
17:40And at football, you don't really, well, when you're at that level,
17:43you don't really concentrate.
17:45You just do it.
17:46He's in flow state.
17:47And that is the big difference.
17:50Well, you hit the flow state on Saturday night.
17:52You were brilliant.
17:53And Lauren, you were praising Jimmy for all the hard work that he was putting into the routine.
17:57Do you think he pulled it off?
17:58Were you happy with what he did?
17:59I was so, so happy.
18:00I could see his nerves before the show.
18:02Yeah.
18:03But he held it together.
18:04We were working on frame a lot, weren't we?
18:06Yeah.
18:07And he kept that all the way through.
18:09And I was just really, really happy with his performance.
18:11Really, really happy.
18:12The hard work played off because you definitely made time for plenty of fun in the training
18:17room because Jimmy has even taught you a few tricks, Lauren, hasn't he?
18:20Yes.
18:21We've been swapping skills.
18:22I said it from the beginning.
18:23Since I was a kid, I wanted to learn how to do keyboards.
18:25Well, it's okay.
18:26You don't need to talk because we're going to see it.
18:27Oh.
18:28Okay.
18:29Sixteen.
18:30Sixteen, Lauren.
18:31I mean, pretty good.
18:33Yeah.
18:34That was good.
18:35That was good.
18:36You really are determined, Lauren, aren't you, to kind of change the narrative that footballers
18:38leave the competition early.
18:39Yes.
18:40So what makes you think that Jimmy can go all the way with that?
18:55Okay.
18:56So the minute I saw him put his arms up, I was like, oh, he's got frame.
18:58Yeah.
18:59This guy's got frame.
19:00So he's going to tick the boxes in the ballroom dances.
19:03And then I saw the hips.
19:05So we can work with the hips.
19:07We've got plenty, plenty to work with.
19:09So I'm determined to break that stereotype.
19:11The canvas was lovely.
19:12Yeah, exactly.
19:13Exactly.
19:14Amazing.
19:15And, well, you scored 27, which tied you third on the leaderboard.
19:19That is an incredible week one score.
19:22We were surprised, weren't we?
19:23Yeah.
19:24Like, didn't know what to expect.
19:25I didn't really know what to expect or what was coming.
19:30Thank God, because I was concentrating more on the dance.
19:34And, obviously, when the score came out, I was really, really happy.
19:39Well, you're doing the right thing.
19:40Focus on the dancing.
19:41Who cares what they have to say?
19:42Yes.
19:43Speaking of the dancing, we're through to this week, right?
19:45We're going into week two.
19:46And you're going to be doing a cha-cha-cha to this.
19:51I heard it through the grapevine by Santa Esmeralda.
19:56We had four cha-cha-chas last week.
19:58There's been a range of scores from all of them.
20:00So, how have you found the training for the cha-cha-chas?
20:03Very different from what you did week one.
20:05Oh, gosh.
20:06Oh.
20:07Oh.
20:08Where do I start?
20:09Where do I start?
20:10The training is so different.
20:12It's different, yes.
20:13And it's so hard.
20:15It's like...
20:16Look at that groove, baby.
20:18What is it that you find so hard about it?
20:21What's the difference?
20:22It's the feeling of the music and then putting it together and then knowing exactly when to go and when to hold back.
20:31And it's just totally different than the quick step.
20:34Yes.
20:35Very, very different.
20:36But it's fun.
20:37Don't get me wrong.
20:38She's been on the floor laughing and stuff.
20:41And it's...
20:42Not are you dancing.
20:43I just want to make that clear.
20:45No.
20:46We've had so much fun doing it.
20:49So much frustration as well.
20:51But so much fun.
20:53And that makes it all nice.
20:55And I know that your family, specifically your two daughters, they are huge fans.
20:58They are dancers and performers themselves.
21:00So what homework have you given Jimmy to take back to work on with his daughters?
21:03Well, we've got this exercise because we've got some zigzags.
21:06Oh, yes.
21:07Where we're hands on the wall to get the rotation.
21:09Hands on the wall with zigzags.
21:10So he's been doing that at home in the hallway, haven't you?
21:13Yeah.
21:14And they love being a part of it with you, don't they?
21:16They are a part of it.
21:17They are.
21:18They are the core.
21:19And every day when I come home, we talk about it.
21:22I show them.
21:24They say their comments.
21:25And then, obviously, training.
21:28Yeah.
21:29Well, listen, you were brilliant on Saturday night.
21:31And we can't wait to see the cha-cha-cha this weekend, baby.
21:34It's Jimmy and Lauren.
21:38Before we chat to our last couple, let's catch a glimpse of Karen, Balvinder, Amber and Lavoie in training mode.
21:47The tango is really challenging me.
21:50These two legs have to be together.
21:52Nice.
21:53You get your feet right, but then you've got your top part wrong.
21:55No, no.
21:56Try to go up.
21:57Go up.
21:58If you get your top part right, you'll get your feet wrong.
21:59Why did you cross?
22:00Judges will be on Karen with every detail.
22:03There's no way to hide.
22:06Oh, I feel dizzy.
22:07We are learning to do the Charleston and it is so much fun.
22:14Seven, one.
22:15Trying to get Bal to lean a bit more forward so the weight's more in the balls of the fish.
22:20Last week, I was told not to be pigeon-toed and the Charleston requires you to keep your feet in.
22:26It's proven to be quite difficult.
22:28What happened?
22:32This week, we're dancing the Samba.
22:34This fits my personality a bit more.
22:37It's a little bit more fierce.
22:38One and a two.
22:40Good job.
22:41Amber is doing great.
22:43She's listening to every single thing that I'm telling her.
22:47Six.
22:48Good.
22:49I'm really excited about this one.
22:51I feel like I'm living my best strictly life.
22:53Exactly.
22:57This week, we're doing the jive.
22:59In my head, that's this.
23:01The hand jive.
23:02That's all I know.
23:03Jive is all about being compact.
23:05Faster the music, smaller the steps.
23:07Oh, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.
23:09It's so many feet.
23:13I don't even think I'm doing it to speed.
23:21Next up, we're saying good-eye to our former Strictly champion partnered this year with fellow Ozzy and Ramsay Street's notoriously evil Paul Robinson.
23:31They took us down under with a foxtrot smoother than a koala's cuddle.
23:35Struth.
23:36You moved beautifully.
23:39You flowed.
23:40It was seamless.
23:41You've got a lovely top line.
23:43You need to drive across the floor a lot more with this.
23:47It lacked any swing and sway, but we can't really expect that on day one.
23:51How long?
23:52I'm actually impressed for the first week.
23:54You've got everything under control.
23:55It's calm.
23:56It's collected.
23:57It was smooth.
23:58I think we have a ballroom king on our way.
24:03Thank you, Stefan and Diane.
24:05Now, before we get into things, a massive round of applause to you, Stefan, for winning Best Daytime Star.
24:12Oh, thank you very much.
24:13Oh, thank you very much.
24:14Yeah.
24:15Thank you very much.
24:16Thank you very much.
24:20And welcome to Diane and Jill on the wonderful baby news.
24:23We all love you here at Take Sue.
24:24It's amazing.
24:25Absolutely amazing.
24:26But let's talk about the dancing.
24:27Yeah.
24:28Because this is, I mean, you had such an amazing Saturday night, the two of you.
24:31I loved the dance.
24:33You looked like you enjoyed every second of that.
24:35What was it like for you on Saturday night?
24:36I was actually having fun, believe it or not.
24:38I thought when I stepped out there and I thought, oh, audience, live audience, oh, lots of people watching and all of that.
24:43And I thought I was going to be really nervous.
24:45But I think because of the work that we'd put in and her wonderful training, I was actually completely and utterly ready for it.
24:53So it was like an opening night where you knew the play absolutely backwards.
24:58You could do it with your eyes closed.
25:00And so it was, no, I felt reasonably relaxed.
25:03I mean, you still have a twinge of nerves, but I was.
25:06Probably got millions of people watching you at home.
25:08The odd one or two.
25:09Yeah, yeah.
25:10But, but no, I felt really good.
25:12I think we did.
25:13We both had a lot of fun, didn't we?
25:14We did.
25:15I enjoyed it very, very much.
25:16It looked like you both did.
25:18And Diane, I mean, not just a fellow Aussie, but also from a Ramsey Street, Ramsey Street legend as well.
25:23Do you think that gives you a bit more of a connection to the two of you?
25:26Absolutely.
25:27Honestly, all we do is talk about Australian TV commercials.
25:31We do like all day like, do you remember this commercial?
25:34Do you remember that?
25:35We like recite the whole poem or whatever it was, the song.
25:38We talk about Australian food and Australian chocolates.
25:42Now we're on Australian words.
25:43I know.
25:44Yeah.
25:45Now we're on Australian words.
25:46We just, yeah.
25:47There's so many things that, yeah, that we have in common that I love.
25:50That's brilliant.
25:51And yeah, it does definitely make us have a strong little connection.
25:53It adds a little bit of extra magic.
25:54It's very special.
25:55It's so cool to have someone from my home country with me doing this.
26:00I love it.
26:01And vice versa, because I thought I was going to be thrown into this show that I knew nothing.
26:04Well, when I say I know nothing about, because we have Dancing with the Stars over there.
26:07But it's, but I really didn't know much about Strictly and the phenomenon of Strictly.
26:10So I thought, I'm just going to walk into this place and not know anybody.
26:14So, ba-dum!
26:15Ba-dum!
26:16It was brilliant.
26:17Here she comes.
26:18I just had a thought.
26:19Imagine we had two Cubans doing It Takes Two.
26:20Very different show.
26:21Very different show.
26:22Right.
26:23We have to mention some of your neighbour co-stars, because they were watching the audience tonight.
26:26Yes.
26:27We had April Pangilli and Alan Fletcher, a.k.a. Carl Kennedy.
26:30Yeah.
26:31What did they think of your performance on Saturday night?
26:33Oh, they were chuffed.
26:34I got the biggest hug from Alan when I went over and I said g'day to them at the end of the show.
26:39And he just took me in his arms and gave me a big kiss on the cheek and said, mate, you were brilliant.
26:43Aw.
26:44And I thought that was really nice.
26:45I feel like Australians just say everything's brilliant, don't they?
26:48They're such good people to be around.
26:50That was great.
26:51Yeah.
26:52That was so good.
26:53Didn't even see any mistakes.
26:54It was brilliant.
26:55It's like, you can stay with us all the time.
26:56You are quite positive.
26:57I've noticed that about Diane through the years.
26:58She's quite a positive person in general.
27:00But let's talk about this week.
27:01We're going to move on to the next dance.
27:02And you've got actually a message from someone that I think you might recognise
27:06that is going to give you a little bit of a push into the next week.
27:09Have a look.
27:10Hey, guys.
27:12Steph.
27:13Well done, mate.
27:14You're opening.
27:15First week is out of the way.
27:17That's always a tough one.
27:19But listen, you're going to smash it, mate.
27:22Big smiles on your face.
27:24I'm looking forward to this week.
27:27And the Aussies.
27:28Come on, the Aussies.
27:30Yay!
27:31Thank you, Jason Donovan.
27:33Oh, that's so cool.
27:35Isn't that cool?
27:36I mean, he knows.
27:37He's done it.
27:38He can walk around.
27:39Yeah, he was doing it.
27:40But looking ahead this week, you're doing the Cha Cha Cha and you're dancing to this.
27:43That is Give It Up by Casey and the Sunshine Band.
27:50Steph, after years of scheming on Neighbours, you're finally going to be able to show off
27:55a more fun, excitable, lighthearted side to you.
27:58How are you feeling about the Cha Cha Cha?
28:00Well, the Cha Cha is definitely going to do that, isn't it?
28:02Yes.
28:03We've got a couple of tricks up our sleeves.
28:04Oh!
28:05It's not even Halloween yet.
28:06And it is.
28:07It's so far removed from Paul Robinson.
28:09It's not funny.
28:10So this is you yesterday.
28:11This is really good because then you've had today and you've still got all day tomorrow.
28:15Yeah.
28:16How are you feeling?
28:17And Diane, you're dancing to an 80s classic.
28:21Yes.
28:22Such a tune.
28:23So what can we expect to see when you take us back in time with the Cha Cha Cha?
28:26Well, it's kind of like a video clip style of dance.
28:30So we're taking you back to like an 80s video clip.
28:33Ooh.
28:34And we're going to have the full 80s outfits.
28:37We're going to look like we're in that era.
28:39We're either going to look totally ridiculous or really cool.
28:42Yeah.
28:43There might even be a mullet.
28:44Yeah.
28:45Sorry.
28:46There might be.
28:47A mullet.
28:48I don't know yet, but there might be.
28:49Oh my gosh.
28:50We need to see this.
28:51Can you quickly though, now that I've got, I need to know, can you quickly tell me in
28:55three words what you think it's going to be like then?
28:57Oh, exciting.
29:00Anything could go wrong at any point, to be honest.
29:03But colorful.
29:04Colorful.
29:05Fun.
29:06Entertaining.
29:07Are you the one wearing the mullet or is it Diane?
29:08Entertaining.
29:09Look, I've asked for both of us, but.
29:11That's the surprise.
29:13That's the surprise.
29:14Oh my gosh.
29:15I love the Cha Cha Cha.
29:16And it's a great one to do on the first couple of weeks.
29:18I know it's very different from what you did on week one, but coming into doing this dance
29:21on week two, after the character that you play on the show as well, I think it's going
29:24to be lovely because we're all going to get to see a completely different side of you.
29:28Yeah.
29:29Good luck this weekend.
29:31I hope it goes well.
29:32You're both brilliant.
29:33One more time, congratulations to all the amazingness that's happening.
29:36Let's hear it for Stefan and Diane.
29:38Yay!
29:39Thanks all for tonight.
29:40I'm back tomorrow to uncover all the backstage fun from Vicky and Kai, Tom and Amy, and Chris
29:44and Nadia.
29:45Plus, we have the return of our strictly fairy godmother, Vicky Gill.
29:48All from 6.30 tomorrow.
29:50So we'll see you then.
29:51Bye-bye.
29:58Bye-bye.
29:59Bye-bye.
30:00Bye-bye
