00:00After losing the T20 and one day series to New Zealand, the West Indies will be hoping
00:05to reverse the odds in the test series. Will the longer format change their approach? Well,
00:11they added the experienced fast bowler Kemar Roach to the squad. The 37-year-old has played
00:16in 85 test matches and has taken 284 wickets. He last played for the West Indies against Pakistan
00:24in the second test in Multan, where the Windies won by 120 runs. Was he the good luck champ that's
00:30been missing in the team that's coming off of dismal performances against India and Australia?
00:36The Windies selectors will also be calling up 29-year-old OJ Shields, who makes his debut.
00:42Shields and Roach, among other players named in the squad, have completed a two-week high
00:47performance camp in the region. Kavim Hajj makes his return to the team as well. He joins at the
00:52regional squad on the back of his previous success against Pace, while Kari Peer has been left out
00:58of the squad. Alzari Joseph and Shemar Joseph have been ruled out of action for the remainder of the
01:04year as they continue rehabilitation from injuries sustained earlier this year. The team is being
01:10captained by Ruston Chase, with Jamel Warrican as the vice-captain. Other faces returning include
01:16Tate Narayan Chanderpaul, John Campbell, Alec Athanese, Shea Hope, Tevin Imlak, Johan Lane,
01:23Anderson Phillip and Jaden Seals. Brandon King gets a call-up as well as he hopes for better luck in
01:29the longer version of the game. Time will determine if poor results in this series may see further
01:34changes to the leadership of the team going into 2026. The three-test series runs from December 1st
01:41to the 21st. The series forms part of the 2025 to 2027 ICC World Test Championship and will be
01:49the West Indies' final fixed year for 2025. Sergio Dufour, TV6 Sport.
