A resident of Olera Heights is calling for urgent action from the Housing Development Corporation, saying years of unresolved structural problems at her HDC apartment have now taken a serious toll on her health and quality of life.

00:00O'Lara Heights resident Pamela Lalchan says she's been fighting a long and exhausting battle over the condition of her HTC-issued apartment.
00:10For years I've been going through a lot of things that have been taken to me in this place. I reported to the HTC many times and they tell me I have to go to the police and never come and investigate. When I go to the police on report station, they will tell me that the HTC have to see about that.
00:32But she says the problems don't end there. In fact, they're getting worse. Flooding is now a regular occurrence.
00:40Now for two years now my apartment has been flooding, right? That is especially the bathroom and one of the bedrooms on the western side. When I call and I tell them, I go, I show them photo, they never come. I show them video, they never come.
00:59Already coping with several medical conditions including heart disease, she believes the damp and deteriorating space has further damaged her health.
01:09I came here and the place was very damp and it's a leak and the dampness and I developed asthma, right? I fell, I slid and broke my ankle here some years ago, 2012, and my ankle was broken on the joint and my kneecap was dislocated on my left leg.
01:28The situation has forced her to constantly shift her belongings to avoid further damage and she alleges her property is also being vandalized.
01:37All here is clothes that I take out. They also spread, apart from cutting up my curtains, right? Every set I put up, they will cut it.
01:47And when I started to show people who come here, how it tear up and cut, and people see that, they started to take and put marks and they stopped cutting.
01:55Now they're taking a knife and making a mark on the edge where they're stitching.
01:57The door to my clothes, my shoes, I have a lot of footwear there also, that they cut and they're damaged.
02:06Lalchen says she visited her MP's office shortly after the election but received no redress.
02:13Now, reaching out to the media is her final attempt at getting help, hoping someone in authority hears her plea and intervenes.
