00:22The Ministry of Foreign and Caracom Affairs announced on Sunday that Trinidad and Tobago will now benefit from zero reciprocal tariffs on key agricultural exports, including nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers, entering the United States market.
00:36ProMond said the removal of the U.S. tariffs on nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers for the U.S. market supports one of Trinidad and Tobago's leading exports and further reinforces the country's position as a stable, reliable supplier within the global fertilizer and energy value chains.
00:54ProMond said that as the largest tenant and employer on the Pondilisus industrial estate, it's among the world's top 10 leading fertilizer producers, supplying products essential to farmers worldwide to ensure the healthy plant growth and crop yields needed to feed a growing global population.
01:14ProMond also said the U.S. remains Trinidad and Tobago's single largest trading partner and ProMond's largest export market for UAN, which is a product derived from natural gas.
01:26ProMond quoted its managing director, Anand Ragbeer, as having said that this is a significant boost for Trinidad and Tobago's UAN export market and reinforces the critical role of competitively priced fertilizers in global food security.
