00:00Good afternoon. Further spells of heavy rain to come for many of us through the rest of this week.
00:05And for northern areas, it will turn much colder as this afternoon goes on.
00:09That's because we've got a cold northerly wind developing across northern areas of Scotland through this afternoon.
00:14Weather front moving away here, but to the south and west we've got the next batch of rain arriving into parts of Wales.
00:20South western England, there's a rain warning and a wind warning in force through the rest of today.
00:25That's because we've had quite a lot of rain here already recently.
00:28Now, further south and east, away from that area, that weather front, we've got a southerly wind.
00:32So it will feel fairly pleasant in the sunshine across the south and east.
00:36And also there's a slice of dry weather across parts of Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and some parts of northern England.
00:42But the rain will slowly start to spread into parts of northern England and southern Scotland as this evening goes on.
00:48And it's going to persist across this area through tonight and through tomorrow morning as well.
00:53But we've not had as much rain here recently.
00:55So although there is probably going to be some water on the roads through Thursday morning, we're not expecting any flooding impacts around here at the moment.
01:03Now, further north, we've got this northerly wind that could bring a few snow showers to northern areas of Scotland, particularly over the high ground.
01:11But further south and west, it will turn much drier as the night goes on.
01:15Now, there is a chance of seeing the northern lights tonight, but with limited clear skies.
01:20I don't think many people will spot it, but there is a chance.
01:23So if you do catch clear skies, make sure you look out the window at night tonight.
01:28And it's going to stay mild across the south, away from that northerly wind, 11 or 12 degrees with that blanket of cloud around.
01:35Colder, though, further north, temperatures down in the low single figures.
01:39And it will be quite a bitterly cold morning to start on Thursday morning.
01:43Now, this rain, as I said, will linger across parts of Northern Ireland, parts of Scotland as well, will turn heavy for a time.
01:49But further south, much drier interlude to come across Wales, much of England, a few showers here and there.
01:55But it's going to be a much drier and brighter day.
01:57And we're still in the warmer air across southern areas of the UK.
02:01The temperatures climbing into the towards the higher teens across the south and east through Thursday afternoon.
02:08However, as I said, there is further rain to come.
02:11We've got a weather front pushing up from the south through Friday, Thursday night into Friday.
02:16There is a risk of heavy rain across England and Wales.
02:18Some areas could see almost a month's worth of rain in just 24 hours.
02:23So it's worth keeping up to date with our warnings.
