00:00Good afternoon. Well, it was a chilly start to Sunday morning. We actually saw the lowest
00:05temperature recorded in the UK since May, dropping down to minus 1.9 across Scotland.
00:12But it's turning downhill as we go through the rest of the weekend and into Monday with
00:18heavy spells of rain and strong winds. And this is all to do with this area of low pressure
00:22out towards the west. And the winds will really be ramping up through the rest of Sunday evening
00:28and into Monday as the area of low pressure tracks its way eastwards across the UK. So
00:35expect coastal gale, especially across western areas, but even inland, 45 to 55 miles per hour
00:42expected. But as that clears its way through, we'll start to see the winds easing as we go
00:47later on into Tuesday. So back to the rest of this afternoon. And any sunshine will turn
00:53increasingly haziest cloud builds across eastern areas. Otherwise out towards the west, an unsettled
01:00end to the weekend. Heavy spells of rain across western parts of Scotland, into Wales, and into
01:06the southwest of England. And here is where we're likely to see the heaviest downpours.
01:11Across Northern Ireland, some brighter skies developing later on in the afternoon with some heavy, possibly
01:17trenchial showers. But the best of the brightness really focused across northern Scotland through
01:22the afternoon. Best of the sunshine across Orkney and Shetland. But the winds will be strengthening
01:28as well. Southwesterly winds with coastal gales likely in the west. But underneath all this cloud,
01:34rain and strong winds, it's going to be feeling rather unpleasant out there and quite cool for the time
01:40of year. So as we go through Sunday evening, that's where we have a yellow wind warning that comes into
01:47force across England and Wales. So 45 to 55 miles per hour inland, 60 to 70 along the coasts and the hills.
01:56The rain clears its way through, so clearer skies developing across East Anglia and the southeast of England.
02:02But behind that, it's a case of blustery showers across Northern Ireland, Northern England, and into Wales
02:08and the southwest of England. But with a lot of cloud around and the strong winds, temperatures will be holding up.
02:16So it's going to be a milder start out there to Monday morning compared to Sunday.
02:23So as we start Monday morning, take care during rush hour, there could be some disruption on the
02:27roads with those strong winds. Outbreaks of rain across northern parts of Scotland, lightest winds
02:33across central areas here, but otherwise scattered showers merging into longer spells of rain across
02:40northern Ireland, northern England and running into northern parts of Wales. To the south of that,
02:46there are going to be some brighter skies developing, but some showers, but these will be rattling through
02:51pretty quickly in those strong southwesterly winds. Otherwise, well, it's still going to be feeling rather
02:58unpleasant out there. Temperatures ranging from around 16 to 19 degrees. So as we go through Monday evening,
03:07the area of low pressure will start clearing its way eastwards. We'll hold on to a lot of showers,
03:12pushing through across Northern Ireland, parts of Wales, but there'll be some clear skies in between.
