00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Wednesday morning which is wet for many.
00:04Rain has moved in overnight and is tracking northwards with some strong winds in the south.
00:08Rain warning is in force until this afternoon across southern parts of Wales as well as the west country.
00:13Some heavy downpours here. You can see some heavy rain elsewhere as that low tracks towards the northeast.
00:19And then a blustery day on Thursday. A showery regime. More heavy showers to come.
00:23Some sunshine in between but notice high pressure lurking just towards the south allowing for some quieter weather.
00:29Particularly across central and southern areas through Friday as this rain just grazes the far northwest of Scotland.
00:36And again winds could be strong but it turns warmer as we head into the weekend.
00:41Now for the time being if you are stepping out first thing there will be some showers around.
00:44Some brighter skies across the northwest of Scotland.
00:46Showery rain across central, eastern and southern areas of Scotland.
00:49It's a wet start across northern Ireland and some sporadic bursts of rain likely across central and northern areas of England and Wales.
00:55Heavier pulses of rain continue from the south and expect some coastal gales through the morning into the afternoon here.
01:02Notice some heavy rain around. It will come and go through the morning into the afternoon.
01:07But as you're stepping out you may catch some heavier downpours through the morning.
01:12Through the morning then we watch as this whole mass of cloud and rain continues its passage northwards.
01:18This rain warning represents the fact they could see some heavy downpours particularly towards the southwest covered with some strong winds here.
01:25And then showers will follow with the risk of thunder through the afternoon as we see more persistent rain just arrive in effect central and northern areas of Scotland.
01:33So a showery end to the day for Northern Ireland.
01:3516 degrees Celsius here.
01:3717 for the central belt of Scotland.
01:39For mid Wales down towards the southeast.
01:4121 to 22 Celsius.
01:43Similar situation for eastern counties.
01:45But notice that wind.
01:46It's going to be a windy one particularly across England and Wales.
01:50And those strong winds extend northwards through the night particularly for the northeast of Scotland.
01:55A blustery night elsewhere with further bands of showers moving in from the southwest.
01:59Some clearer skies elsewhere.
02:01And temperatures probably holding around double figures across England and Wales.
02:06But where you see some shelter towards the south temperatures will be lower.
02:09Then Thursday it's sunshine and showers.
02:13Those showers cluster together through the morning but they'll be fairly scattered through the afternoon.
02:17But with that breeze they'll move across the country quite quickly.
02:20But some sunshine to end the day.
02:22Temperatures then through the afternoon on Thursday.
02:24Coming in again the mid to high teens across the north.
02:28Just scraping 20 further south and southeast.
02:32So that's the picture on Thursday.
02:34As I said high pressure extending its influence across England and Wales on Friday.
02:39And what that means.
02:40For some you'll see some brighter breaks if not some sunshine and a lighter breeze.
02:44There could be some rain across the far northwest of Scotland.
02:46For most it's a drier day with a few light showers and temperatures on the up 17 to 22 degrees Celsius.
