24 November - National Morning Forecast presented by Kathryn Chalk
Transcript
00:00Good morning.
00:01Well, it's not going to be as cold as the week just gone, but it's still going to be
00:05chilly in places, especially Tuesday night and into Wednesday.
00:09But back to the rest of this morning, we've actually got low pressure in charge, bringing
00:13further showers across England and Wales with strong winds, especially across the south
00:18and west with coastal gales, but that soon clears its way through.
00:22Brighter skies developing across Northern Ireland, Western Scotland, eventually into
00:26Wales in the southwest of England, perhaps some glimmers of sunshine in the south and
00:30east.
00:31But with the northerly wind developing, we have a focus for showers across eastern coasts.
00:37So across eastern Scotland, they could fall a little bit wintry over the mountains and
00:41into Northern England as well.
00:44Otherwise, it's still going to be feeling rather chilly, especially across the southeast now,
00:49compared to Sunday, where you had more in the way of sunshine, feeling more pleasant across
00:53Northern Ireland though, but when you're exposed to that northerly wind, take a few degrees off
00:58there and it will feel more like four or five degrees.
01:01So as we go through Monday evening, then we still hold on to a rash of showers across eastern
01:06parts of Scotland, running down across eastern England and across the north and east.
01:12There's still a few showers as well across western parts of Wales and into the southwest of England,
01:17but for the vast majority, there'll be some clear skies as we start Tuesday morning.
01:22And into parts of Wales and northwards, that's where we could see a touch of frost and perhaps
01:26some icy stretches in places to start Tuesday.
01:30So a cold start for some of us as we start Tuesday morning, but a bright star out there.
01:36There should be a good deal of sunshine as we actually have a ridge of higher pressure
01:40toppling in.
01:41So most of the showers in the west will start fading as we go through the afternoon.
01:45A focus still for those showers though, running down the North Sea coasts.
01:50But otherwise, most of us should see some sunshine, especially Northern Ireland,
01:54Scotland and Northern England as well.
01:57And there'll be lighter winds too, still temperatures around 6 to 10 degrees.
02:04So as we go through the week ahead then, this is the ridge of high pressure that's bringing the
02:09settled conditions through into Tuesday.
02:11That leads to actually a widespread frost on Wednesday morning.
02:16But then as we go midweek, we will start seeing the temperatures rising.
02:20So it's going to be turning milder as we go midweek, but also wet and windy.
02:26We'll have some stronger winds, but outbreaks of rain moving through on Thursday.
02:31That's all from me for now though, but make sure to hit subscribe
02:33so you don't miss an update.
02:34And I'll see you soon.
02:35Bye-bye.
