00:00
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. The Lord be with you.
00:20
Dear friends, we gather once more for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
00:24
We give thanks to God for the many gifts and blessings we have received,
00:28
but also we confidently go to Him to bring Him our prayers for ourselves, for our loved ones,
00:35
for those who are suffering, and those of the whole world.
00:39
We pray in a special way also for our brothers and sisters experiencing poverty,
00:45
because as you know, yesterday the Holy Father released His first apostolic letter called Delexite,
00:51
calling us to a greater love of our poor brothers and sisters,
00:55
and for the gift of Christian love, which bridges all of the barriers and gaps that might be present.
01:03
So we keep them very much in our intercession today.
01:07
Dear brothers and sisters, let us acknowledge our sins, and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
01:13
May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life. Amen.
01:36
Let us pray.
01:38
Almighty, ever-living God, who in the abundance of your kindness surpassed the merits and the desires of those who entreat you,
01:46
pour out your mercy upon us to pardon what conscience dreads, and to give what prayer does not dare to ask.
01:54
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you,
01:58
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen.
02:03
A reading from the prophet Joel.
02:08
Priests, put on sackcloth and lament.
02:12
Ministers of the altar wail.
02:14
Come, pass the night in sackcloth, you ministers of my God.
02:20
For the house of our God has been deprived of oblation and libation.
02:25
Order a fast.
02:27
Proclaim a solemn assembly.
02:28
Elders, hold together all the inhabitants of the country to the house of the Lord your God.
02:36
Cry out to the Lord.
02:37
Oh, what a day!
02:39
For the day of the Lord is near.
02:41
It comes as a devastation from Shaddai.
02:45
Sound the trumpet in Zion.
02:48
Give the alarm on my holy mountain.
02:50
Let all the inhabitants of the country tremble.
02:53
For the day of the Lord is coming.
02:56
Yes, it is near.
02:59
Day of darkness and gloom.
03:00
Day of cloud and blackness.
03:02
Like the dawn, there spreads across the mountains a vast and mighty host.
03:07
Such as never been before.
03:10
Such as will never be again.
03:12
To the remotest ages.
03:14
The Word of the Lord.
03:18
Responsorial Psalm.
03:19
The Lord will judge the world with justice.
03:22
The Lord will judge the world with justice.
03:26
I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart.
03:28
I will recount all your wonders.
03:30
I will rejoice in you and be glad.
03:33
And sing psalms to your name, O Most High.
03:36
The Lord will judge the world with justice.
03:38
You have checked the nations.
03:40
Destroyed the wicked.
03:41
You have wiped out their name forever and never.
03:44
The nations have fallen in the pit which they made.
03:47
Their feet caught in the snare they laid.
03:50
The Lord will judge the world with justice.
03:53
But the Lord sits enthroned forever.
03:56
He has set up his throne for judgment.
03:58
He will judge the world with justice.
04:01
He will judge the peoples with his truth.
04:04
The Lord will judge the world with justice.
04:08
Alleluia, alleluia.
04:09
The prince of this world will now be cast out.
04:12
And when I am lifted up from the earth,
04:14
I will draw all to myself, says the Lord.
04:19
Alleluia.
04:21
The Lord be with you.
04:24
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke.
04:29
When Jesus had cast out a devil, some of the people said,
04:33
It is through Beelzebul, the prince of devils,
04:36
that he cast out devils.
04:38
Others asked Jesus as a test for a sign from heaven.
04:43
But knowing what they were thinking, he said to them,
04:46
Every kingdom divided against itself is heading for ruin,
04:50
and a household divided against itself collapses.
04:54
So too is Satan.
04:56
If he is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand?
05:00
Since you assert that it is through Beelzebul that I cast out devils.
05:05
Now, if it is through Beelzebul that I cast out devils,
05:11
through whom do your own experts cast them out?
05:15
Let them be your judges then.
05:17
But if it is through the finger of God that I cast out devils,
05:21
then know it is that the kingdom of God has overtaken you.
05:27
So long as a strong man fully armed guards his own palace,
05:31
his goods are undisturbed.
05:33
But when someone stronger than he is attacks and defeats him,
05:38
the stronger man takes away all the weapons he relied on
05:41
and shares out his spoil.
05:44
He who is not with me is against me,
05:47
and he who does not gather with me scatters.
05:51
When an unclean spirit goes out of a man,
05:53
it wanders through waterless country looking for a place to rest.
05:57
And not finding one, it says,
05:59
I will go back to the home I came from.
06:01
But on arrival, finding it swept and tidied,
06:06
it then goes off and brings seven other spirits more wicked than itself.
06:10
And they go in and set up house there,
06:13
so that the man ends up by being worse than he was before.
06:17
The Gospel of the Lord.
06:19
The Gospel of the Lord.
06:47
Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
06:51
for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you.
06:54
Fruit of the earth and work of human hands,
06:56
it will become for us the bread of life.
06:58
Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
07:08
for through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you.
07:11
Fruit of the vine and work of human hands,
07:13
it will become for us our spiritual drink.
07:15
Pray, brothers and sisters,
07:27
that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God,
07:30
the Almighty Father.
07:31
Accept, O Lord, we pray the sacrifices instituted by your commands.
07:43
And through the sacred mysteries which we celebrate with dutiful service,
07:47
graciously complete the sanctifying work
07:49
by which you are pleased to redeem us,
07:52
through Christ our Lord.
07:54
Amen.
07:57
The Lord be with you, and with your spirit.
08:00
Lift up your hearts.
08:01
We lift them up to the Lord.
08:02
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
08:04
It is right and just.
08:06
It is truly right and just,
08:08
our duty and our salvation,
08:09
always and everywhere,
08:11
to give you thanks,
08:12
Father most holy,
08:13
through your beloved Son, Jesus Christ,
08:16
your word through whom you made all things,
08:18
whom you sent as our Savior and Redeemer,
08:21
incarnate by the Holy Spirit,
08:23
and born of the Virgin.
08:25
Fulfilling your will,
08:26
and gaining for you a holy people,
08:28
he stretched out his hands,
08:30
as he endured his passion,
08:32
so as to break the bonds of death,
08:34
and manifest the resurrection.
08:36
And so with all the angels and all the saints,
08:39
we declare your glory,
08:40
as with one voice we acclaim,
08:43
Holy, Holy, Holy Lord,
08:45
God of hosts,
08:47
heaven and earth are full of your glory,
08:49
Hosanna in the highest.
08:50
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord,
08:53
Hosanna in the highest.
08:57
You are indeed holy, O Lord,
08:59
the fount of all holiness.
09:01
Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,
09:03
by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall,
09:06
so that they may become for us the body and blood
09:09
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
09:11
At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly
09:14
into his passion, he took bread,
09:16
and giving thanks, broke it,
09:18
and gave it to his disciples, saying,
09:21
Take this all of you and eat of it,
09:24
for this is my body,
09:26
which will be given up for you.
09:44
In a similar way,
09:52
when supper was ended,
09:54
he took the chalice,
09:55
and once more giving thanks,
09:57
he gave it to his disciples,
09:58
saying,
09:59
Take this all of you,
10:00
and drink from it,
10:01
for this is the chalice of my blood,
10:04
the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
10:07
which will be poured out for you and for many,
10:10
for the forgiveness of sins.
10:12
Do this in memory of me.
10:40
The mystery of faith.
10:42
When we eat this bread and drink this cup,
10:44
we proclaim your death, O Lord,
10:47
until you come again.
10:48
Therefore, as we celebrate
10:49
the memorial of his death and resurrection,
10:52
we offer you, Lord,
10:53
the bread of life
10:54
and the chalice of salvation,
10:56
giving thanks that you have held us worthy
10:58
to be in your presence
11:00
and minister to you.
11:02
Humbly we pray that,
11:03
partaking of the body and blood of Christ,
11:06
we may be gathered into one
11:07
by the Holy Spirit.
11:08
Remember, Lord,
11:10
your church spread throughout the world
11:12
and bring her to the fullness of charity,
11:14
together with Leo our Pope
11:16
and Charles our Bishop
11:17
and all the clergy.
11:19
Remember also our brothers and sisters
11:21
who have fallen asleep
11:23
in the hope of the resurrection,
11:25
and all who have died in your mercy.
11:28
Welcome them into the light of your face.
11:31
Have mercy on us all,
11:32
we pray that with the blessed Virgin Mary,
11:34
Mother of God,
11:36
with blessed Joseph, her spouse,
11:37
with the blessed Apostles
11:39
and all the saints
11:40
who have pleased you throughout the ages,
11:43
we may merit to be co-heirs to eternal life
11:45
and may praise and glorify you
11:48
through your Son, Jesus Christ.
11:50
Through him and with him and in him,
11:52
O God, Almighty Father,
11:54
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
11:56
all glory and honor is yours
11:58
forever and ever.
12:00
Amen.
12:02
At the Savior's command,
12:04
informed by divine teaching,
12:05
we now dare to say,
12:07
Our Father who art in heaven,
12:09
hallowed be thy name.
12:11
Thy kingdom come,
12:12
thy will be done on earth
12:14
as it is in heaven.
12:16
Give us this day our daily bread
12:17
and forgive us our trespasses
12:19
as we forgive those
12:21
who trespass against us.
12:23
And lead us not into temptation,
12:26
but deliver us from evil.
12:28
Deliver us, Lord, we pray,
12:30
from every evil.
12:31
Graciously grant peace in our days,
12:34
that by the help of your mercy,
12:36
we may be always free from sin
12:37
and safe from all distress
12:39
as we await the blessed hope
12:41
and the coming of our Savior,
12:43
Jesus Christ.
12:47
Lord Jesus Christ,
12:48
who said to your apostles,
12:49
Peace I leave you,
12:50
my peace I give you.
12:52
Look not on our sins,
12:53
but on the faith of your church,
12:55
and graciously grant her peace
12:57
and unity in accordance
12:58
with your will,
12:59
who live and reign forever and ever.
13:02
The peace of the Lord
13:03
be with you always.
13:05
Let's offer each other
13:06
the sign of peace.
13:07
Peace be with you.
13:08
Lamb of God,
13:21
you take away the sins of the world,
13:23
have mercy on us.
13:25
Lamb of God,
13:26
you take away the sins of the world,
13:28
have mercy on us.
13:30
Lamb of God,
13:31
you take away the sins of the world,
13:33
grant us peace.
13:34
Peace be with you.
13:38
Behold the Lamb of God,
13:55
behold him who takes away the sins of the world.
13:58
Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.
14:01
Lord, I am not worthy
14:03
that you should enter under my roof,
14:05
but only say the word
14:07
and my soul shall be healed.
14:10
My Jesus,
14:11
I believe that you are present
14:13
in the most blessed sacrament.
14:15
I love you above all things,
14:17
and I desire to receive you into my soul.
14:20
Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
14:23
commonly, spiritually, into my heart,
14:26
I embrace you as if you were already there,
14:28
and unite myself wholly to you.
14:31
Never permit me to be separated from you.
14:34
Amen.
14:35
Let us pray.
14:39
Grant us, almighty God,
14:41
that we may be refreshed and nourished
14:43
by the sacrament which we have received,
14:45
so as to be transformed into what we consume,
14:48
through Christ our Lord.
14:50
Amen.
14:51
Thank you, friends,
14:52
for your prayerful company today.
14:54
Wish you all of God's blessings
14:56
for yourself,
14:56
your families,
14:58
the ones you look after,
14:59
and also your communities,
15:01
wherever you may be.
15:03
The Lord be with you.
15:05
May almighty God bless you,
15:06
the Father and the Son
15:07
and the Holy Spirit.
15:10
Go and announce the Gospel of the Lord.
15:12
Amen.
15:12
Amen.
15:21
Amen.
