Transcript
00:00In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
00:18The Lord be with you, and with your spirit.
00:21Dear friends, as we meet today around the Eucharistic altar,
00:25we offer our intentions, our thanksgiving, and our love to the good Lord.
00:30Today, through the hands of Our Lady of Guadalupe, our dear Mother Mary,
00:34who in 1531 appeared to Juan Diego in the hill of Tepeyac in Mexico,
00:39and thus began a new era of evangelization of peoples.
00:45Millions of people came to be converted through the Catholic faith,
00:48thanks to her appearance, to humble little Juan Diego.
00:51So we ask Our Lady to intercede for us, for our needs, and for our families,
00:56especially during this time.
00:58We also ask her, as the Queen of Peace,
01:00to pray for peace for the whole world, and for peace in our own hearts.
01:04Dear brothers and sisters, let us acknowledge our sins,
01:07and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
01:10I confess to Almighty God, and to you, my brothers and sisters,
01:16that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words,
01:21in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,
01:24through my fault, through my fault, through my most previous fault.
01:29Therefore, I ask Blessed Mary, ever Virgin,
01:32all the angels and saints,
01:34and you, my brothers and sisters,
01:36to pray for me, to the Lord our God.
01:38May Almighty God have mercy on us,
01:41forgive us our sins,
01:42and bring us to everlasting life.
01:45Amen.
01:46Let us pray.
01:48O God, Father of mercies,
01:51who placed your people under the singular protection
01:54of your son's most holy mother,
01:57grant that all who invoke the Blessed Virgin of Guadalupe
02:01may seek with ever more lively faith
02:04the progress of peoples in the ways of justice and of peace,
02:09through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
02:11who lives and reigns with you
02:12in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
02:15God, forever and ever.
02:17Amen.
02:19A reading from the prophet Isaiah.
02:23Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer,
02:25the Holy One of Israel,
02:26I, the Lord your God,
02:29teach you what is good for you.
02:32I lead you in the way that you must go.
02:35If only you had been alert to my commandments,
02:38your happiness would have been like a river,
02:41your integrity like the waves of the sea.
02:45Your children would have been numbered like the sand,
02:48your descendants as many as its grains.
02:51Never would your name have been cut off
02:55or blotted out before me.
02:58The word of the Lord.
03:04Those who follow you, Lord,
03:06will have the light of life.
03:09Those who follow you, Lord,
03:10will have the light of life.
03:13Happy indeed is the man
03:15who follows not the counsel of the wicked,
03:17nor lingers in the way of sinners,
03:19nor sits in the company of scorners,
03:22but whose delight is the law of the Lord,
03:25and who ponders his law day and night.
03:29Those who follow you, Lord,
03:31will have the light of life.
03:34He is like a tree that is planted
03:36beside the flowing waters,
03:38that yields his fruit in due season,
03:41and whose leaves shall never fade,
03:43and all that he does shall prosper.
03:45Those who follow you, Lord,
03:48will have the light of life.
03:50Not so are the wicked, not so,
03:53for they, like winnowed chaff,
03:55shall be driven away by the wind.
03:57For the Lord guards the way of the just,
04:00but the way of the wicked leads to doom.
04:03Those who follow you, Lord,
04:05will have the light of life.
04:07Alleluia! Alleluia!
04:12The Lord will come,
04:13go out to meet him.
04:15He is the Prince of Peace.
04:18Alleluia!
04:21The Lord be with you.
04:23A reading from the Holy Gospel
04:25according to Matthew.
04:29Jesus spoke to the crowds,
04:31What description can I find for this generation?
04:34It is like children shouting to each other
04:38as they sit in the marketplace.
04:41We played the pipes for you,
04:43and you wouldn't dance.
04:45We sang dirges,
04:47and you wouldn't be mourners.
04:50For John came,
04:51neither eating nor drinking,
04:53and they say he is possessed.
04:55The Son of Man came,
04:57eating and drinking,
04:59and they say,
05:00Look!
05:01a glutton and a drunkard,
05:04a friend of tax collectors and sinners.
05:08Yet wisdom has been proved right
05:10by her actions.
05:13The Gospel of the Lord.
05:16Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
05:18Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
05:46for through your goodness we have received
05:48the bread we offer you.
05:50Fruit of the earth and work of human hands,
05:51it will become for us the bread of life.
05:54Blessed be God forever.
05:55Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
06:12for through your goodness we have received
06:13the wine we offer you,
06:15fruit of the vine and work of human hands.
06:17It will become for us our spiritual drink.
06:19Amen.
06:19Amen.
06:19Amen.
06:19Amen.
06:20Amen.
06:25Pray, brothers and sisters,
06:33that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God,
06:36the Almighty Father.
06:38May the Lord accept the sacrifice of your hands
06:40for the praise and the glory of his name,
06:43for our good and the good of all his holy church.
06:47Accept, O Lord, these offerings,
06:49and by your power change them
06:50into the sacrament of salvation,
06:52in which, fulfilling the sacrifices of the fathers,
06:57is offered the true Lamb, Jesus Christ, your Son,
07:00born of the ever-Virgin Mary,
07:02in a way beyond all telling,
07:04who lives and reigns forever and ever.
07:07Amen.
07:08The Lord be with you,
07:09and with your spirit lift up your hearts.
07:12We lift them up to the Lord.
07:14Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
07:17It is right and just.
07:18It is truly right and just,
07:20our duty and our salvation,
07:22always and everywhere,
07:24to give you thanks,
07:25to praise your mighty deeds
07:28in the exaltation of all the saints,
07:30and especially as we celebrate
07:32the memory of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
07:34to proclaim your kindness
07:37as we echo her thankful hymn of praise.
07:40For truly, even to earth's ends,
07:42you have done great things,
07:44and extended your abundant mercy
07:46from age to age.
07:48When you looked on the lowliness
07:49of your handmaid,
07:50you gave us through her,
07:52the author of our salvation,
07:53your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
07:56Through him, the host of angels
07:57adores your majesty
07:59and rejoices in your presence forever.
08:02May our voices, we pray,
08:03join with theirs
08:04in one chorus of exultant praise
08:07as we acclaim.
08:09Holy, holy, holy Lord,
08:12God of hosts,
08:13heaven and earth are full of your glory.
08:15Hosanna in the highest.
08:16Blessed is he who comes
08:18in the name of the Lord.
08:20Hosanna in the highest.
08:25You are indeed holy, O Lord,
08:27the fount of all holiness.
08:29Make holy, therefore,
08:30these gifts, we pray,
08:31by sending down your Spirit
08:33upon them like the twofold,
08:35so that they may become for us
08:37the body and blood
08:38of our Lord Jesus Christ.
08:40At the time he was betrayed
08:43and entered willingly
08:44into his passion,
08:45he took bread
08:46and giving thanks,
08:48broke it
08:48and gave it to his disciples,
08:50saying,
08:51Take this, all of you,
08:53and eat of it,
08:55for this is my body,
08:57which will be given up
08:59for you.
09:00For you.
09:00For you.
09:00For you.
09:01For you.
09:01For you.
09:02Let's go.
09:32When supper was ended, he took the chalice, and once more giving thanks, he gave the chalice to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me.
10:02Let's go.
10:32Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.
10:45Humbly we pray that, partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
10:53Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Leo our Pope and Charles our Bishop and all the clergy.
11:01Remember your servants, Lydalina and Nicolina, whom you have called from this world to yourself.
11:09Grant that they who were united with your son in a death like his may also be one with him in his resurrection.
11:15Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection and all who have died in your mercy.
11:23Welcome them into the light of your face.
11:25Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, we blessed Joseph, her spouse, with the blessed apostles and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages.
11:37We may merit to be co-heirs to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.
11:48Through him and with him and in him, O God, Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours, forever and ever. Amen.
12:00At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say,
12:08Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
12:18Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
12:27And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
12:33Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days,
12:37that by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress,
12:43as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
12:48For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever.
12:52Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles,
12:55Peace I leave you, my peace I give you.
12:58Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church.
13:01And graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will,
13:06who live and reign forever and ever.
13:09Amen.
13:10The peace of the Lord be with you always.
13:13Let's offer each other the sign of peace.
13:16Peace be with you, wherever you may be.
13:18Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
13:40Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
13:44Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.
13:49Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world.
14:15Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.
14:19Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof,
14:23but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.
14:27My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
14:33I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul.
14:38Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
14:41comely spiritually into my heart,
14:44I embrace you as if you were already there,
14:46and unite myself wholly to you.
14:49Never permit me to be separated from you.
14:52Amen.
14:53Let us pray.
14:56May the mysteries we have received, O Lord our God,
15:00always show forth your mercy in us,
15:03that we who commemorate in faith the mother of your son
15:06may be saved by his incarnation,
15:09who lives and reigns forever and ever.
15:13Amen.
15:14And it is this mystery of incarnation, of course, dear friends,
15:16that we are observing, celebrating,
15:19and looking forward to in this Advent and coming Christmas season.
15:22So again, I wish you and your families all the best
15:25as you prepare now, as we prepare now,
15:28closer and closer for the coming Feast of Christmas.
15:31This coming Sunday is already the third Sunday of Advent,
15:34which is usually when you would see some of your priests wear rose vestments.
15:38An expression of joy as the coming of the Savior is more and more towards us.
15:44So dear friends, I pray for God's blessings
15:46and for the prayers of Our Lady for you,
15:49your families, and your intentions,
15:51in a most special way for those who are currently unwell
15:53or unable to truly join us for Mass in parishes.
15:58May you know, especially through these online Masses,
16:01that we wish to be close to you.
16:03We are praying for you.
16:05And we very much embrace you in the presence of God each day.
16:08The Lord be with you.
16:10May Almighty God bless you.
16:12The Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
16:15Amen.
16:16Go and announce the Gospel of the Lord.
16:18Thanks be to God.
