Transcript
00:00In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you.
00:19We acknowledge our sins, but more importantly, the great compassion, the mercy, and the love of God.
00:30You are with us in good times and in bad times.
00:36Lord, have mercy.
00:38You call us to truly love as you love.
00:41Christ, have mercy.
00:44And your love is bigger than our doubts and fears.
00:46Lord, have mercy.
00:48May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us into healing and life everlasting.
00:55Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of goodwill.
01:01We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you.
01:06We give you thanks for your great glory.
01:09Lord God, Heavenly King, O God, Almighty Father, Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son,
01:16Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
01:24You take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer.
01:28You are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.
01:33For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ,
01:39with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father.
01:43Amen.
01:44Let us pray.
01:46Almighty ever-living God, by whose gift we venerate in one celebration the merits of all the saints,
02:01bestow on us, we pray, through the prayers of so many intercessors,
02:06an abundance of the reconciliation with you for which we earnestly long.
02:11Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God,
02:18forever and ever.
02:20Amen.
02:20Amen.
02:20The first reading is from the book of Apocalypse.
02:32I, John, saw another angel rising where the sun rises, carrying the seal of the living God.
02:40He called in a powerful voice to the four angels, whose duty was to devastate land and sea.
02:47Wait before you do any damage on land or at sea or to the trees until we have put the seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.
02:56After that, I saw a huge number, impossible to count, of people from every nation, race, tribe and language.
03:13They were standing in front of the throne and in the front of the Lamb, dressed in white robes and holding palms in their hands.
03:21They shouted aloud, Victory to our God, who sits on the throne and to the Lamb.
03:27And all the angels who were standing in a circle around the throne, surrounding the elders and the four animals,
03:34prostrated themselves before the throne and touched the ground with their four heads,
03:38worshipping God with these words.
03:40Amen.
03:41Praise and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honour and power and strength to our God forever and ever.
03:51Amen.
03:52One of the elders then spoke and asked me,
03:55Do you know who these people are, dressed in white robes, and where they have come from?
04:00I answered him,
04:02You can tell me, my Lord.
04:04Then he said,
04:05These are the people who have been through the great persecution,
04:09and they have washed their robes white again in the blood of the Lamb.
04:16This is the word of the Lord.
04:18Thanks be to God.
04:20Your response will be,
04:22Lord, this is the people that longs to see your face.
04:26Lord, this is the people that longs to see your face.
04:30The Lord's is the earth and its fullness,
04:33the world and all its peoples.
04:35It is he who sets it on the seas,
04:39on the waters he made it firm.
04:41Lord, this is the people that longs to see your face.
04:45Who shall climb the mountain of the Lord?
04:48Who shall stand in his holy place?
04:50The man with clean hands and pure heart,
04:53who desires not worthless things.
04:56Lord, this is the people that longs to see your face.
04:59He shall receive blessings from the Lord
05:02and reward from the God who saves him.
05:05Such are the men who seek him.
05:07Seek the face of the God of Jacob.
05:10Lord, this is the people that longs to see your face.
05:14The second reading is from the first letter of St. John.
05:18Think of the love that the Father has lavished on us
05:23by letting us be called God's children.
05:27And that is what we are.
05:29Because the world refused to acknowledge him,
05:32therefore it does not acknowledge us.
05:36My dear people,
05:37we are already the children of God,
05:39but what we are to be in the future
05:42has not yet been revealed.
05:43All we know is that when it is revealed,
05:48we shall be like him,
05:50because we shall see him as he really is.
05:55Surely everyone who entertains this hope
05:57must purify himself,
05:59must try to be as pure as Christ.
06:04This is the word of the Lord.
06:06Thanks be to God.
06:08Your Gospel Acclamation.
06:11Alleluia, alleluia.
06:12Come to me, all you that labor and are burdened,
06:16and I will give you rest,
06:18says the Lord.
06:19Alleluia.
06:26The Lord be with you.
06:28And with your spirit.
06:29A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
06:32Glory to you, O Lord.
06:35Seeing the cry of Jesus went up the hill.
06:39There he sat down
06:40and was joined by his disciples.
06:42Then he began to speak.
06:45This is what he taught them.
06:48How happy are the poor in spirit.
06:51Thus is the kingdom of heaven.
06:55Happy the gentle.
06:56They shall have the earth for their heritage.
06:59Happy those who mourn.
07:00They shall be comforted.
07:03Happy those who hunger and thirst for what is right.
07:05They shall be satisfied.
07:06Happy the merciful.
07:09They shall have mercy shown them.
07:12Happy the pure in heart.
07:13They shall see God.
07:15Happy the peacemakers.
07:17They shall be called sons and daughters of God.
07:21Happy those who are persecuted in the cause of right.
07:24Thus is the kingdom of heaven.
07:28Happy are you when people abuse you and persecute you
07:31and speak all kinds of calumny against you on my account.
07:35Rejoice and be glad for your reward will be great in heaven.
07:39The gospel of the Lord.
07:44Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
07:48These two days, all saints and all souls,
07:55remind us of the great communion of love
07:57between us who are still on the journey,
08:01not fully reborn yet,
08:04and those who have gone before us
08:06and are now in the fullness of life.
08:10We remember that God's love is a purifying love.
08:15As we die, we are purified by God's love
08:17to move on to the next stage,
08:19which is our destiny,
08:20to be with each other and with our God forever.
08:24But that communion is prefigured now,
08:27starts now,
08:28that great destiny that we are called to.
08:32And the church is called to witness
08:33to that in the world that we live in.
08:36We are called to love each other.
08:40The world we live in,
08:41when people disagree,
08:43they say,
08:43I'll go my way,
08:44you go your way,
08:44that's the end of it.
08:47We just break the bond.
08:52That's not what we do as Christians.
08:54We forgive.
08:55That doesn't mean you're everybody's best friend,
08:58spending all the time with everybody.
09:00We are human beings.
09:02And yet,
09:03we're called to continue finding bridges,
09:05to build bridges,
09:08not to have ideologies
09:11and other things separating us.
09:15We're called to oneness in Christ,
09:18oneness in love.
09:19We're called to love as God loves.
09:21And that's not possible in a way,
09:25and yet,
09:26something to keep aiming for.
09:29When we give ourselves,
09:31we find ourselves.
09:33But we don't give ourselves to find ourselves.
09:36We do it because love
09:37is sufficient unto itself.
09:38It becomes more possible
09:41when we spend time in prayer,
09:44when we spend time with God.
09:46If you are close to someone,
09:48you become a bit more like them.
09:49You share.
09:50You become more like each other
09:51when you spend time together.
09:54Doesn't mean you lose your identity,
09:56but you enrich each other.
09:58When we spend time in prayer,
10:00we are enriched by God
10:02and become more like the one
10:04whose company we are in.
10:05Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
10:24for to your goodness
10:25we have this bread to offer,
10:27which earth has given,
10:28human hands have made.
10:29It will become for us
10:30the bread of life.
10:31Blessed be God forever.
10:33By the mystery of this water and wine
10:36may we come to share
10:37in the divinity of Christ,
10:39who humbled himself
10:40to share in our humanity.
10:45Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
10:47for to your goodness
10:48we have this wine to offer.
10:50Fruit of divine work of human hands
10:52it will become a spiritual drink.
10:55Blessed be God forever.
10:57And today is a special solemnity
10:59and I should have a decree.
11:01Shalom.
11:01I believe in God,
11:05the Father Almighty,
11:06creator of heaven and earth,
11:08and in Jesus Christ,
11:09his only Son and Lord,
11:11who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
11:14born of the Virgin Mary,
11:16suffered under Pontius Pilate,
11:18was crucified,
11:19died and was buried.
11:21He descended into hell.
11:23On the third day
11:24he rose again from the dead.
11:26He ascended into heaven
11:27and deceived at the right hand of God,
11:30the Father Almighty.
11:32From there he will come to judge
11:33the living and the dead.
11:35I believe in the Holy Spirit,
11:37the Holy Catholic Church,
11:39the communion of saints,
11:40the forgiveness of sins,
11:42the resurrection of the body,
11:44and life everlasting.
11:46Amen.
11:52Let us pray,
11:53brothers and sisters,
11:54that my sacrifice and yours
11:55may be acceptable
11:56to God,
11:57our Almighty Father.
11:58May the Lord accept
11:59the sacrifice at your hands
12:01for the praise and glory of his name,
12:03for our good and the good of all
12:05of his own church.
12:06May these offerings
12:07we bring in honor
12:07of all the saints
12:08be pleasing to you,
12:09O Lord,
12:10and grant that just
12:11as we believe the saints
12:13to be already assured
12:14of immortality,
12:16so we may experience
12:18their concern
12:18for our salvation.
12:20Through Christ our Lord.
12:21Amen.
12:28The Lord be with you.
12:29And with you, O Seer.
12:31Lift up your hearts.
12:32And lift them up to the Lord.
12:33Let us give thanks
12:34to the Lord our God.
12:35It is right and just.
12:36It is truly right and just,
12:37our duty and our salvation,
12:39always and everywhere
12:40to give you thanks,
12:42Lord, Holy Father,
12:43Almighty and eternal God.
12:45For today,
12:46by your gift,
12:48we celebrate the festival
12:50of your city,
12:51the heavenly Jerusalem,
12:52our mother,
12:53where the great array
12:55of our brothers and sisters
12:56already gives you
12:57eternal praise.
12:59Towards her,
13:00we eagerly hasten
13:01as pilgrims advancing by faith,
13:03rejoicing in the glory
13:05bestowed upon those
13:06exalted members of the church,
13:07through whom you give us
13:09in our frailty,
13:11both strength
13:11and a good example.
13:14And so,
13:14we glorify you
13:15with the multitude
13:16of saints and angels,
13:18as with one voice
13:18of praise,
13:19we acclaim,
13:20Holy,
13:21Holy,
13:22Holy Lord,
13:23God of hosts,
13:24heaven and earth
13:25are full of your glory.
13:27Hosanna in the highest.
13:29Blessed is he
13:30who comes in the name
13:31of the Lord.
13:32Hosanna in the highest.
13:34You are indeed
13:35holy,
13:35O Lord,
13:36the fount of all holiness.
13:37Make holy,
13:38therefore,
13:38these gifts,
13:39we pray,
13:40by sending down
13:41your Spirit upon them
13:42like did you for,
13:43so they may become for us
13:45the body and blood
13:46of our Lord Jesus Christ.
13:48At the time
13:49he was betrayed
13:50and entered willingly
13:51into his passion,
13:52he took bread
13:53and giving thanks
13:54broke it
13:55and gave it
13:56to his disciples,
13:57saying,
13:58Take this,
13:59all of you,
13:59and eat of it,
14:00for this is my body
14:02which will be given up
14:03for you.
14:10In a similar way,
14:12when supper was ended,
14:13he took the chalice
14:14and once more
14:16giving thanks,
14:17he gave it
14:18to his disciples,
14:19saying,
14:19Take this,
14:20all of you,
14:21and drink from it,
14:22for this is the chalice
14:23of my blood,
14:25the blood of the new
14:26and eternal covenant,
14:28which will be pulled out
14:29for you and for many
14:30for the forgiveness
14:31of sins.
14:33Do this
14:34in memory of me.
14:42The mystery of faith,
14:44save us,
14:45Savior of the world,
14:46for by your cross
14:48and resurrection
14:48you have set us free.
14:52Therefore,
14:53as we celebrate
14:54the memorial
14:54of his death
14:56and resurrection,
14:58we offer you,
14:58Lord,
14:59the bread of life
15:00and the chalice
15:01of salvation,
15:03giving thanks
15:04that you have held us
15:05worthy
15:05to be in your presence
15:08and minister to you.
15:11Humbly, we pray,
15:13that partaking of the body
15:14and blood of Christ,
15:16we may be gathered
15:16into one
15:17by the Holy Spirit.
15:19Remember, Lord,

15:21throughout the world
15:22and bring her
15:23to the fullness
15:24of charity,
15:25together with Leo,
15:26our Pope,
15:27me, your unworthy servant
15:28and all the clergy.
15:31Remember also
15:32our brothers
15:32and sisters
15:33who have fallen asleep
15:34in the hope
15:35of the resurrection.
15:36and all who have died
15:41in your mercy,
15:42welcome them
15:43into the light
15:44of your face.
15:46Have mercy
15:47on us all,

16:24and formed
16:24by divine teaching,
16:26we dare to say,
16:27Our Father,
16:28who art in heaven,
16:30hallowed be thy name.
16:32Thy kingdom come,
16:33thy will be done
16:34on earth
16:35as it is in heaven.
16:37Give us this day
16:38our daily bread
16:39and forgive us

16:41as we forgive
16:43those who trespass
16:44against us
16:45and lead us
16:46not into temptation
16:47but deliver us
16:48from evil.
16:50Deliver us,

17:08and the glory
