00:00You just started dating a girl and you're wondering how to get to know a girl over text.

00:05Well, the reality is you really shouldn't be trying to get to know her over text,

00:08but there are some exceptions, especially if you're in a long-distance relationship

00:12or you're in a situation where you can hardly get a chance to meet her.

00:16So if that's you, keep watching and learn how you can get to know a girl over text

00:19and the things you can do to avoid scaring her away.

00:37So let's jump into it.

00:43I'm going to focus on guys who are in long-distance relationships

00:45or just so busy that it's hard to get a date.

00:48It's hard to go out and meet that girl that you like.

00:50But anyone can use these strategies, even if you just met a girl.

00:52But first, why you shouldn't get to know a girl over text.

00:55If you have time and you're not in a long-distance relationship,

00:57this is really one of the worst strategies to try to get to know a girl.

01:01If you're texting with her, you're missing your eye contact,

01:04you're missing hand gestures, you're missing your body language,

01:07you're missing your voice, you're missing all these other cues

01:09which are going to signal to her your attraction for her.

01:12It's also much easier for her to misinterpret what you're saying by text.

01:16And if you send a miscommunication and she gets the wrong impression, that could be it.

01:20Now, if she's avoiding meeting you and that's why you want to get to know her over text,

01:23then basically it's already over, right?

01:25There's not really much point in messaging with her because she's just wasting your time.

01:29A lot of girls won't mind texting you even though they won't meet you.

01:32So it's not worth sticking around and continuing to message these girls

01:35who aren't serious enough to go face-to-face.

01:38Another exemption would be if you've already been dating for a long time

01:40and naturally you're going to start texting each other more and more, right?

01:43And that's fine.

01:44You can have conversations by text.

01:46But, you know, it's the same thing though.

01:48You're still going to be missing a lot of communication points.

01:50It's better to communicate in person, but it's natural to start texting with somebody that you like a lot.

01:55As long as she's participating, you're having active conversations, then it's all good.

01:58And you probably don't need this video at all.

02:00Some strategies to get to know a girl over text.

02:02Try these strategies to get to know a girl over text if you're in a long-distance relationship.

02:05Number one is focus on her.

02:07People like talking about themselves, so get her to talk about herself.

02:09Number two is talk about mutual interest.

02:11It's going to be a lot easier to chat and throw some energy into it and some enthusiasm

02:15if you're interested too.

02:16And you're going to want to find out what kind of mutual interest you have anyways.

02:19Number three is talk about future plans and ambitions.

02:21It's a great way to build some enthusiasm because you're talking about future ambitions,

02:25things you're really interested in, you want a future you want, a lifestyle you want,

02:29and it's going to be a lot easier having that back and forth communication.

02:32Number four is plan trips or plan to meet each other.

02:34If you're in a long-distance relationship or you can't meet each other very often,

02:38plan to meet each other, right?

02:39You know, set up some kind of date and something you can look forward to so it's not just texting.

02:43Number five is learn why she likes what she likes.

02:46Learn what's behind her interest, right?

02:47What really drives her.

02:49Number six is learn about her ideal lifestyle.

02:51Number seven is pay attention.

02:52Pay attention to what she writes and that way it's going to be a lot easier to continue

02:55the conversation because you can follow up on different threads of topics that she's mentioned.

02:59Number eight, if you have to wait to actually meet her, try to get some video chats if you can.

03:02Even if they're really short, it doesn't have to be long.

03:04And in fact, it's better if it is short, keep it short and sweet.

03:07But at least you'll have some visual communication in there as well.
