00:01After winning 18 consecutive test series at home, India were finally swept 3-0 by New Zealand late last year.
00:08West Indies coach Darren Sami says the men in Maroon will take inspiration from that and go to India with the intentions of also coming out on top.
00:16The 10 days leading up to the test match, we'll be drilling in all these things and planning very well as to how we're going to beat India in India.
00:29We're definitely going down there with the mindset to win. We're not just going to go down there and think, oh, it's India. No, New Zealand went there and did incredibly well.
00:42The coach is fully aware that in order to win, the opposition has to be dismissed in both innings and he believes his pacers can make it happen.
00:50Where you have Shemar Joseph who's very skinny, Jaden who has a strong front leg who can swing the ball both ways and then you have Al-Zari Joseph with his height and the bounce he could extract.
01:04So again, we take confidence in that, especially the way they've been bowling over the last year, the ability to take 20 wickets.
01:13Batsman Kavim Hodges' omission once again has raised several questions. However, Sami says the squad is selected on merit.
01:22We do a lot of information, a lot of data collected and we try to come up with the best squad in terms of the roles and the skill set required and then the personnel come in.
01:37So again, that's, that's how the selection process goes. Um, and it's, it's, it's all, it's all fortunate that, um, Hodge, Hodge misses out again.
01:48The two match test series in India bowls off on October 2nd in Ahmedabad.
