00:00There's more wet weather to come as we go through the end of the week and into the weekend,
00:04but not everywhere we'll see that much rain.
00:07Actually, the rain's kind of just going to be in the same place over and over again
00:11because currently we have this frontal zone across us
00:14and this lingering front is going to stay really over parts of northern England into Wales.
00:19And then the next frontal system, it's all the same trailing system
00:23and it stays in a similar place, albeit by the weekend,
00:26signs that it's going to push more across parts of England and Wales.
00:29So more widely seen the wet weather by then.
00:32But for the meantime, it's really, yes, in this zone across parts of northern England into southern Scotland,
00:38also north Wales, where overnight we're going to have some outbreaks of rain,
00:41which could be quite persistent, maybe even heavy at times.
00:44And then, yes, there will be some rain pushing north over parts of Scotland,
00:47but actually otherwise there will be a lot of dry and often quite clear weather.
00:51And because of the clear skies, some places, some rural spots will see temperatures dropping into single figures,
00:56but generally many places holding up in the low to mid-teens.
01:00And so another rather mild night for most of us.
01:03Then through Friday, still staying quite wet across those similar areas, really.
01:08That front is continuing to linger across parts of northern England, southern Scotland,
01:13into parts of northern Wales, fringing into parts of northern Ireland as well.
01:17Early rain across the far north of Scotland, that will clear away.
01:19And then, yes, there will be a few showers around, but actually across much of Scotland and northern Ireland,
01:24it will be largely dry with some bright, sunny spells.
01:27Best of the sunshine, though, across central, southern, eastern parts of England.
01:31And here on Friday, it's also going to be pretty warm and humid across the London area up towards East Anglia.
01:37We're looking at temperatures peaking around 26, 27 Celsius, a few degrees fresher than this elsewhere.
01:44And obviously where it's wet and a bit blustery, it's not going to feel particularly warm at all.
01:48That front continues to linger as we go through Friday night into Saturday.
01:53Away from it, though, more clear skies, more dry weather.
01:56And so actually for some, I'm expecting it to be a slightly fresher, a bit cooler night than this coming night.
02:03Temperatures more widely getting close to those single digits, even in some towns and cities dropping into single figures.
02:09Again, though, where it's cloudy, where it's wet, it is going to stay that bit milder.
02:14And notice some of that rain by this point feeding more across parts of Wales and into the far southwest of England as well.
02:21And then through Saturday, this frontal system, it peps up.
02:25We're going to see some heavier rain building and it's going to become a bit more widespread, particularly across parts of Wales, northern England.
02:31That's where we're likely to see some fairly heavy rain.
02:34We're talking potential for 75 to 100 millimetres of rain in a day or so.
02:38So that's enough to cause some impacts.
02:40Also, some heavy rain across parts of Northern Ireland, too.
02:43So there is the potential of some localised flooding, travel disruption, that kind of thing, which is why we do have a couple of warnings out.
02:50It's also the windy weather that we need to watch out for strong winds, particularly across western parts, southwestern areas, having gales, maybe even severe gales around some exposed spots, so coastal areas, higher ground, that kind of thing.
03:03And even further north, we do need to watch out for the blustery weather as well as the heavy rain.
03:08Now, everywhere, seeing the especially strong winds or the very wet weather, some places avoiding most of it and actually having a good deal of fine weather through the weekend.
03:17Worth noting, though, that temperatures are dropping down as we go through into Saturday.
03:21Still warm enough if you're in the shelter from the breeze and catch any bright sunny weather, of which there will be a decent amount across some central parts of England.
03:29We're looking at temperatures 22, 23 Celsius, so a few degrees down on Friday, but still fairly warm nonetheless.
03:36Further north, however, there's fresher air in here, and this fresher air is going to feed its way through as we go into the latter part of the weekend.
03:44The more unsettled weather drifts away, and instead we have cooler air pushing its way in.
03:49So whilst it's going to turn a bit drier as we go into the beginning of next week, temperatures are also going to drop a little bit as well, not just by day, but also by night.
03:57So you may want to think about turning the heating on.
