00:00Hello, very good evening to you. There have been plenty of blustery showers across particularly northern areas through today, but
00:07they are easing as we go overnight and into Wednesday.
00:11That's because the low pressure system has brought the showery blustery weather that's clearing eastwards, moving down the North Sea,
00:18whilst high pressure builds in from the west.
00:20So that's going to quieten our weather down for much of Wednesday, but worth highlighting another weather system that's going
00:26to arrive in from the west in time for Thursday.
00:29So that's going to bring some cloudier weather, windier weather to western parts for sure.
00:34Now, looking at the details and through the rest of Tuesday, still a fair few showers across northern parts in
00:40particular, but maybe some central western parts as well as we go overnight.
00:44Most of the showers will be dying out, but not all of them.
00:47And as that low pressure drifts down the North Sea, it's going to take the strongest gusty winds with it.
00:52So still quite blustery towards those North Sea coastal parts.
00:56Still a few showers here, but elsewhere the wind's easing and there will be a lot of dry, clear weather
01:01to be had through the early hours of Wednesday.
01:03But although the winds are easing, there will still be a bit of breeze around, so temperatures perhaps not dropping
01:09as low as you might otherwise expect.
01:11So most towns and cities hold up in double digits.
01:15But yes, some sheltered glens of Scotland here we could see low single figures, perhaps can't rule out a touch
01:22of grass frost.
01:24Then through Wednesday, still some blustery showers at first in the far east and a few showers coming through the
01:29Irish Sea affecting parts of Wales, maybe western England as well, and perhaps northern Ireland.
01:34But most of any showers that do develop, well, they will ease as that high pressure builds its way in,
01:40just a few perhaps lingering over East Anglia.
01:42So by the mid to end of the afternoon, it's looking dry for much of the country.
01:48Worth noting that after a fairly sunny start, there may be a bit more cloud by the afternoon.
01:54And some of that cloud bubbling up infilling across England, Wales and Northern Ireland in particular.
01:59For Scotland, actually largely sunny skies.
02:02And with lighter winds and fewer showers, more sunshine than today, well, it is going to feel a fair bit
02:08warmer, even if temperatures are just, well, they're around average.
02:11Mid to high teens towards the north, high teens, low 20s further south.
02:16High pressure continues to dominate later on Wednesday.
02:19And so a fine end to the day for most of us, some late sunshine perhaps, especially across central eastern
02:25parts.
02:26Eastern areas will cling on to the clearer weather through much of the night.
02:30But further west, that weather system that I mentioned at the start, that makes its way in.
02:34So we're going to see cloud, rain and strengthening winds as well.
02:38In the east, where we have those clear skies for longest, it could be a bit fresh, a bit fresher
02:43than this coming night.
02:44All places perhaps getting into single digits could see a touch of grass frost in some prone spots towards the
02:51south perhaps first thing on Thursday morning.
02:53But further west, with that cloud, the rain, the strengthening winds, well, that will stop those temperatures dropping especially low.
03:00And then through Thursday itself, more rain coming in.
03:03So the rain could turn a bit heavy at times, a bit persistent initially across parts of Northern Ireland, the
03:09Republic of Ireland.
03:10But then that heavier, more persistent rain feeding in across many parts of Scotland, starting off in the southwest, but
03:15driving further north and east.
03:17And some parts of western England and north Wales also likely to see some rain further east and southeast staying
03:24drier here.
03:25Even some sunny weather to be had.
03:27And temperatures, well, similar to Wednesday, really.
03:29High teens, low 20s towards the southeast, mid to high teens further north and west.
03:34But with the cloud, the rain, the strong winds, well, it's going to feel pretty unpleasant at times, even if
03:39temperatures are fairly similar.
03:41Later on, we see that system eventually moves its way through.
03:45It could invigorate for a period of time overnight Thursday into Friday before it kind of breaks up.
03:51But nonetheless, some rain could be affecting far southeastern parts first thing on Friday morning.
03:57That then clears away.
03:58And apart from a few showers, Friday is actually looking like a mostly fine day.
04:02But worth highlighting at this stage, there is another weather system waiting to bring some wet and windy weather to
04:08northwestern parts this weekend.
04:09We will, of course, keep you updated about that.
04:12I'll see you again soon.
04:13Bye-bye.
