00:00Because of the spell, Sonic leaves the hiding spot eventually and stands in front of the monster and doesn't take the hint when Tails pulls him.
00:08Eventually, Tails sees the knight from earlier and asks for help.
00:12He has some lame dialogue where he explains Sonic was made helpless by foul sorcery and calls him his liege lord.
00:19The writer calls it tacky and eventually the knight says a big scene at last because of it and pulls out his sword.
00:26The whole time the monster just conveniently stood still instead of eating like it wanted to.
00:32Eventually, the robots of the film crew and the other actors show up and waste my time bickering.
00:37Eventually, a streak of fire from a staff flies by.
00:41So a swarm of angry green and yellow parrots from the trees and aims a missile at someone's pointy hat.
00:47There's more boring dialogue and eventually Capone steals the staff, cathartically calling the person useless because he didn't just use the staff right away.
00:56And he uses the settings button on the thing, which he mentions every setting of.
01:01He uses an inferno against the monster.
01:04He really would have eaten them all in all the time they were just standing there.
01:08I guess he's programmed not to do anything for the sake of having a scene about him getting defeated.
01:13There's a bunch of padding.
01:15Where Capone's told to do another take because somehow the cameras weren't loaded.
01:20And eventually it's revealed that there's plenty of other monsters just like it nearby.
01:25So it didn't inconvenience him as much as I wanted.
01:28Finally, Tails leads Sonic away and starts a long walk to Green Hill Zone.
01:33At the end of the afternoon, Tails got to Emerald Hill on the last leg of his journey home.
01:39Where Sonic had kept stopping for a half an hour to sniff some flowers or did something equally unsonic-like.
01:46I like that he made fun of Sonic X by accident there.
01:49Just because Sonic doesn't want to see nature get polluted doesn't mean he'd want to sniff flowers.
01:56Anyone wouldn't want to see pollution.
01:58It eventually explains that Tails was getting very short-tempered and tired from what he'd gone through.
02:04Eventually a small coconut hits him gently on the back of the head.
02:08Which is what justifies the awesome moment where he raced up the tree and aims to kick at the monkey that did that and laughed at him.
02:15Only rings would protect him from that.
02:18Because really that would have killed him.
02:20First it said it was a monkey.
02:22Now it's an ape.
02:23I don't know how you get those confused.
02:25He jumps after him and is about to bash him into next week.
02:29But unfortunately he's surrounded by the flock of bats who insist on telling him to relax and lying that he didn't hurt him.
02:37So the story wastes my time for a while.
02:40It explains that the bat people can't hiss.
02:42Only squeak.
02:44Eventually they decide to get Mickey to help them.
02:48Tails makes Sonic stop eating a rock.
02:50And there's more padding where at least Tails gets to go to sleep for a while.
02:53And Mickey gets to eat a triple cheeseburger after he wakes up.
02:58It eventually explains that the contents of the magic box are laid out on the floor.
03:03And it wastes some time describing pointless details of the room.
03:07Sonic's established to be sleeping.
03:09And pretty soon Mickey gives Tails a cheeseburger.
03:13And eventually reveals he was smart enough to put on Sonic's tap.
03:16Eventually Tails somehow doesn't have any confidence in the mess of wiring.
03:21And doubts his ability to find out stuff about the box.
03:25But keeps it to himself.
03:27The only thing that's good about this.
03:29Is that it could mean he'd still learn how to be an engineer.
03:32Because he doesn't entirely trust Mickey.
03:34So he'd think he would do a better job.
03:38After some padding.
03:39Mickey states the obvious.
03:40And my time is wasted for a long time.
03:43Until he has Tails switched minds with Sonic.
03:45Which magically gets him back to normal.
03:48Which he somehow knew would work.
03:51I don't know why I had to think smart thoughts for it to work.
03:55And sadly.
03:55He doesn't tell us what those are.
03:58And said he worries that Mickey could have gotten the polarity wrong.
04:00Before he passes out.
04:02Which is more of a paranoid thought.
04:04Than a really smart thought.
04:07Tails wakes up to a concerned hedgehog.
04:09Shaking him by the shoulders.
04:11And asks him if he's alright.
04:13He insults Eggman.
04:14And says please say you're okay.
04:16And calls him pal.
04:18Eventually Mickey gives Tails cola to drink.
04:20And he says baby talk.
04:21And pretty soon he reveals he was only kidding.
04:24Sonic's both overjoyed.
04:26And asks to resist the urge to hit him.
04:28He says sorry to Mickey.
04:30And eventually somehow Mickey says it'll all come out in the wash.
04:34About the burnt out wreckage of the magic box.
04:38Eventually a bat with annoying dialogue flies in.
04:40And eats a banana on Mickey.
04:42And eventually gets some more.
04:44And after some more padding.
04:46He says that because Mickey told him their troubles.
04:49He found a way into the big tower in the middle.
04:52As usual he talks with a bunch of baseball puns.
04:55That just pad out the book.
04:57And make him look nuts.
04:58I'm glad it doesn't tell me what his plan is.
05:01So that spares me a little padding.
05:03There's a boring villain scene.
05:05Where the only thing I care about.
05:06Is that Eggman complains.
05:07That the stupidly named Demet's configuration.
05:10Was never supposed to have been allowed.
05:12To allow the heroes to escape.
05:14So after a worthless padding.
05:15Some bats carry Sonic to the castle.
05:18To give Tails a break for a change.
05:20So that's new.
05:21Eventually they're shown some ventilation shafts.
05:24And eventually Tails catches a banana skin thrown by the bat.
05:28And puts it in his pocket.
05:31Oh right.
05:31He's wearing a dinner jacket.
05:34After some padding where Sonic thanks them.
05:36And calls Tails his buddy.
05:38They fall into the shafts.
05:39And smash through them.
05:41Eventually they see electricity beams blocking the way.
05:44Why did Eggman bother making signs warning about the electricity?
05:48The writer knows they weren't needed.
05:50So why did he write them?
05:52And they sure are magical to have 10 trillion megavolts.
05:56The story repeats itself when they look at other ducks.
05:59Eventually Tails says they have to get to the middle floor.
06:01And find a way up.
06:03Eventually Sonic says good call.
06:05And waste time a little more.
06:06Before lampshading that they're wasting time chatting.
06:09Then don't make them do that.
06:12Not when most of the dialogue is worthless.
06:15After padding.
06:17Somehow Tails wastes time asking which badnik they should attack first.
06:21In the room near them.
06:23Sonic spins to send a grill flying.
06:25And starts fighting badniks in a dark lamp.
06:28Tails says it would have been quieter.
06:30If they had just dismantled the grill.
06:32Which is dumb.
06:33Because they shouldn't know they'd easily snatch any robots to get attracted by the noise.
06:38Sonic turns on the light.
06:40And eventually lets Tails open the door.
06:41Despite wanting to smash it down.
06:44Which is nice of him.
06:45But I think he'd act without thinking instead.
06:49Although insisting that he would literally never think ever.
06:53Implies that he'd think he's a complete idiot.
06:56You're not always going to have an idea of what to do.
06:58Without thinking first.
07:00I'm conflicted about whether this is in character from him being nice to Tails or not.
07:05Because it's contradicting his recent behavior.
07:08His impatience would be higher priority back then for sure.
07:12Because while he could see his impatience in the games.
07:15He never acted like he cared about Tails in them.
07:17So he can't point to the games for everything.
07:21Eventually.
07:22They hear a low buzzing drone in the distance get louder.
07:26And Sonic tells him not to ask if he can hear something.
07:29And calls him little buddy.
07:31He's underestimating his intelligence if he thinks he'd assume he's deaf.
07:35There's padding as they explore the castle without finding anything.
07:39Sonic says they're going to have to do some badnik smashing and smirks.
07:43And sarcastically says what a shame.
07:46And Tails has good chemistry with him by sarcastically saying,
07:49Oh dear.
07:50How sad.
07:51Never mind.
07:53So that's charming.
07:54Eventually he gets threatened by the chainsaw user again.
07:57Because Jason never dies.
07:59And there's a bunch of padding with the heroes just dodging.
08:02And Tails annoyingly despairing.
08:04Until he flings a banana skin and Jace slips on it and Sonic knocks him out.
08:09Mythbusters proved how insanely unlikely it is to slip on a banana peel.
08:13To the point where they tried to slip on a huge amount of banana peels for nothing.
08:18So that was forced.
08:19But I appreciate that they had a solution against a bad guy that the Sonic characters don't usually use.
08:25But it's also a cliche.
08:27It could be explained by the banana skins on Mobius being that slippery.
08:32Magically.
08:32So ultimately when you combine it with they already dealt with this guy and he's doing nothing new.
08:38None of this scene should have existed.
08:41Pretty soon clanking noises come from the direction Jace had appeared from.
08:45Sonic plans to attack.
08:46And Tails somehow thinks nothing bad would happen if they left him here.
08:50And wastes time with boring redundant blathering.
08:53During which Jace could have gotten up.
08:56He says they don't want to waste energy here and reminds him they have to get to the top.
09:00So after complaining Sonic admits he was talking sense.
09:04So eventually they run and close the door which puts them in darkness.
09:08And Sonic ends up pressing the button for the prototype lab.
09:11And each hanging lab coat has a badge with the name Dr. Ernest Leviter on them.
09:16Because they were going too fast to see the period in front of the E and thought it was an elevator door.
09:23Eventually Sonic prods a metal cage and there's a loud ringing sound of metal hitting the floor.
09:29Which makes the door behind them lock and an alarm go off.
09:32Eventually they see that a big spider with glowing red eyes was let loose.
09:36So the book wastes a bunch of time describing it.
09:41Why don't they just go into a spin dash?
09:44Anything that'd run into them would die.
09:47They also have to dodge some acid spin at them.
09:50Eventually crawlers go into the room.
09:52And Eggman sees a bomb badmik blow up the spider and equipment and most of the crawlers.
09:57So the heroes leave the room and there's a lot of padding.
10:01Rhaegor takes forever to blame Spielbot for their victory because he talks so much.
10:06Eventually Tails pulls Sonic into a small cleanup room to hide from badmiks passing them by.
10:12Again.
10:13Eventually they leave.
10:15Why did one of the robots drop Eggman's business card about a funeral?
10:19Then it has a lot more padding.
10:22I don't need to see an entire scene of Spielbot where it takes several paragraphs for him
10:27to discover his fate.
10:29Why don't the robots know for a fact who he is?
10:32Why is he able to lie about his identity and scare them into leaving?
10:36Wouldn't robots be able to connect to a database that would tell them who every robot is?
10:41Especially since the slicer had a holographic image of Spielbot installed into his brain.
10:47Well that was a worthless scene.
10:49After some padding, Rhaegman tells Eggman to have the entire film crew melted because he somehow
10:54thinks they're spies.
10:55Eggor doesn't shut down the central computer access in his haste to catch up with Eggman.
11:02Even though he's supposed to be obedient.
11:04It wastes my time for a while until the heroes find a door with the red electronic arrow pointing
11:10upwards flashing.
11:12Tails tells Sonic to hide from Spielbot so they hide in the elevator and use it.
11:17Back in the computer lab.
11:19Spielbot tries to find out why an order had been given to Meltan but he's not experienced in using
11:23computers and didn't know Eggman's access codes so eventually he gets mad enough to smash
11:28a metal fist into the console which has something vital making the screens go black for a couple of
11:33seconds as opposed to permanently somehow.
11:36What was he able to do that when he'd know Eggman wouldn't want him to?
11:39A power unit in the corner explodes which blows metal sheets into the room to shatter a group of
11:45computers and eventually the entire building gets a power outage.
11:50This never would have happened if Eggman hadn't wasted his time making a robot capable of feeling
11:55angry when it wasn't meant for fighting.
11:58It was sadistic of him to do that though and since he's got all the world's evil in him and was
12:03already shown to be irrational it's in character that he'd impulsively make every robot able to
12:08be mad despite the loyalty risk.
12:11When you're that evil you can't be that logical.
12:14You're blinded by your evil.
12:16But it's a shame that this happened because Eggor forgot to do something in his haste which you
12:22didn't need Eggor specifically to do.
12:25The blackout gets the hero stuck in an elevator.
12:28Eventually Sonic reassures Tails and fails to burst the metal door off
12:33and gets a bump on the head instead because of how great its material is.
12:37He eventually reassures him and calls him Buddy and Eggman rages about what happened.
12:42So there's a whole lot of padding where it turns out Eggman was smart enough to have backup power
12:48that somehow works when the backup systems are damaged.
12:51But at least he'll only have power for less than a half hour.
12:55Eggor says he's just checked the weather report and because he did that at a time like this he
13:01tells him to melt himself down but eventually gets him to listen to his plan.
13:05So that was a little funny.
13:06Eventually Tails reveals that he knows what a spanner is when the average person doesn't and even I don't
13:14and says that they could have gone plate folds off with one.
13:17I love that he was smart enough to know that.
13:20This wasn't like the games at the time so it's a miracle.
13:23And it's just proof that you don't have to be like the games to be good.
13:27Sonic says it's because they're not plumbers and he says he's working for the good guys instead.
13:33It only makes sense on a meta level because his brand competed with Mario.
13:37Eventually he sees Tails staring at a glass box with a spanner in it and a hammer next to it.
13:44Why didn't that get noticed and used earlier?
13:47Eventually they get to the top of the elevator cubicle and plan to start climbing the chains and
13:51lovers above them. After two worthless scenes about O.C.'s blathering who deserved to be called
13:59that because of being shown preferential treatment.
14:02Eventually Sonic Spin jumps through a door and ends up seeing that the torches on the wall are just
14:08lit with light bulbs. Eventually they run to the master lab with Eggman who's about to get into an
14:14eggmobile from a wall hatch. It's thundering out and the story stupidly says that the entire planet's
14:21having a really bad night when it's not like an entire planet's at night at the same time.
14:26Unless it's really small and only has the same gravity from magic.
14:31It's owls we're meeting to consider a suicide pact.
14:36There was no reason for the narration to say this so it's just shock value.
14:41The story wastes my time and the Eggmobile flies away which wouldn't have happened if Sonic had
14:45attacked it instead of standing still just to listen to his typical taunting.
14:50He could have jumped at the Eggmobile while he was laughing because at that point it didn't seem
14:54like he was going to give him any useful info. After a bunch of padding they see some pieces of
15:00paper with a hidden computer lab on them and realize that they've got to go back to the middle floor.
15:07How does Sonic know he's standing on a trap door? If he was it would have already made him fall.
15:13He says he bets there's a secret set of steps leading down to the middle floor under it.
15:20If he's right what a creator's pet. How would he know that? Just have the stairs be visible from the
15:27start. After padding Spielbot gets threatened by Sonic. He tells him what his troubles are and
15:33eventually Tails says they were sent to dismantle him instead but might spare him if he gives them info.
15:38Sonic looks at him impressed. And Tails says they need to know about Eggman's movies so they could
15:44help fix the damage. Why doesn't Spielbot know what Sonic and Tails look like so that he'd know
15:49they're not actors working for Eggman that he can trust? While making every robot know that would
15:55be effort he doesn't think he needs. It also justifies that he's too scared to think straight.
16:02But it's so frustrating compared to just having them knock him over and threaten him into giving
16:06them info without the flimsy lie. He would say anything to protect himself anyways. How's he
16:13programmed to be able to betray Eggman even to protect himself? There's a worthless scene of
16:19nothing but OCs. Where the writer says illuminate instead of illuminated. It's good that some badness
16:25gets smashed. There's some more padding. I don't need to be told something they're already going to
16:31find out on their own. Somehow Spielbot's able to figure out the identity of Sonic and Tails for no
16:36reason when he didn't earlier. Tails has a spanner on Spielbot and says talk or else. So that was cool.
16:45Eventually. Because of a thunderclap Tails eventually figures out where Eggman's gone because he needs
16:51electrical power and there isn't any left here. Sonic wastes time saying he's right and so Tails
16:58tells him to follow him. Sonic threatens the robot into staying still and eventually, well I assume it's
17:05Sonic who says they'll look through the hatch Spielbot showed them. They tug at the sealed doors until they
17:12get them apart from each other and Tails points out the radio antenna on a tower. So after padding,
17:18Sonic insists on calling him silly and eventually they run up the secret staircase. There's a bunch
17:24of padding again as it wastes time on Capone who at least compliments the robot who says it was nothing.
17:30There's no way a king that calls Sonic a freak from bigotry would warm up to a robot and accept it as
17:36part of his team. Eventually Sonic sees a messy damaged lab with buzzers so the story has nearly a wall
17:44of text describing it for padding. And eventually it takes another nearly wall of text to describe the
17:51giant Franken Sonic which we could picture ourselves based on the name except for I'm not having shoes
17:58and being green and wearing a metal skull hat. After padding where the predictable happens, the radio
18:06antenna is hit by lightning and somehow isn't destroyed despite its metal struts flying off from it.
18:14Eventually the Franken Sonic sits up and there's more padding. Why doesn't just fight as soon as Eggman
18:20talks? The heroes could only watch helplessly apparently. They're past Eggman being blocked by the
18:27last of the grounders as he hopped into the Eggmobile and flew away. Why didn't they spin dash through
18:32the grounders instantly or jump over them and destroy the Eggmobile? It's the last book. He should
18:39have just had them make a citizen's arrest. The Franken Sonic leaves and the generators explode.
18:45So after padding they see the council get crushed by the rig and blown up. And it goes back to wasting
18:52time. It doesn't need to say that Franken Sonic smashed through the walls of the tower base to
18:57escape. I think that was obvious and I thought it already did that because it just said the castle
19:02was destroyed. So that must have happened after this. Of course there's homing devices in Frank and
19:09Sonic's brain so that's how he knows how to go to Green Hill. After some padding, Frank and Sonic gets
19:16distracted by all of the OCs. He tries to squish them but then he's distracted by another group of
19:22people swarming at holding torches led by Sally. Because she was so smart that she just assumed from
19:29Eggman's monster theming that he was going to make a giant Franken Sonic. Well I guess if he actually
19:36tried to predict how the plot was going to go, anyone would have figured that out. The writer says
19:42they had been keeping the torches burning even in the pouring rain. It'd be better to explain how. Just say
19:49it's the kind of fire that doesn't get put out by rain because of what's burning. Like Greek fire.
19:55It seems like a dangerous idea of Sally's that only worked out because of Frank and Sonic had
19:59Capone and his actors distract him. Which she couldn't have known about. Frank and Sonic's being
20:06given the idiot ball of being unable to handle the sheer amount of people he's seeing at once.
20:11Why didn't Eggman give him a better robotic brain? It's trying to be inspiring by having all of the new
20:16characters be helpful and I appreciate the effort but not the fact that it's having a huge amount of
20:22pointless words with nothing happening. Eventually the director robot pulls the head off the robot
20:28who was narrating in front of the camera and this is good because it makes his film crew cheer.
20:33After padding Capone uses the staff to burn slicers. It's realistic that he almost falls
20:40over backwards from the recoil of the huge cloud of fire. I'm glad there was a staff of fire.
20:47It makes it absolutely clear that this kind of thing wouldn't feel out of place in this kind of
20:51franchise. Eventually Mickey, who told Tails to get him up to Frank and Sonic's head, grabs one end of
20:58the long stitched line and unzips it to reveal cogs and circuit boards. So eventually he tells Sonic to use
21:05his spanner to unwind a nut and Sonic undoes every bolt. Which he already did in an Archie Sonic issue.
21:14The one where Snively tried to get a jungle destroyed. It probably happened way after this though.
21:20I'm glad Sonic got to do it because I like him more. So eventually everyone cheers from the Frank and
21:26Sonic falling without the book having the guts to have him attack anybody even once.
21:31Not Capone or any of the annoying D&D cosplayers. It wouldn't have been annoying if they just
21:37talked like normal people instead of medieval stereotypes. After some padding, Word sadly
21:44reveals that Capone did get caught on film. The radical's babe gets told once again to fawn over
21:51him but gets stopped by an actress droid in scanty, vaguely medieval clothing and asks her forcefully
21:57if she could have a word with her about gender stereotyping and equal rights. And the gleam
22:03that lit up her eyes said they were the best words she's heard in years. It came out of nowhere but
22:09it's good that it made her happy. Sally Acorn in Sadie M was already feminist so this really shouldn't
22:15come out of nowhere. What does it even mean by vaguely medieval clothing? That's all it says. And how does
22:22a droid have the ability to talk like this? Why did Spielbot survive long enough to tell Sonic he's
22:29going to be an independent movie maker? He's going to make a movie about an alien who befriends a
22:34hedgehog that reveals the wickedness of their ways and it references E.T. That's nice but how
22:40is he able to think like this? He's annoying and even Sonic knows it so why did he survive? Tails says
22:47Pork is recovering as he gets to eat a burger. He guesses that when they destroyed the castle they
22:52destroyed whatever was turning him into a monster. When I assumed that what was turning him into a
22:58monster was something that got injected into him by a bat brain biting him but apparently destroying the
23:06castle destroyed the thing that was constantly sending the nanobots in him a signal and them not
23:12having the signal magically caused them to undo the damage they did. That's nice. I guess the nanobots
23:19are programmed like that just in case they get inside Eggman because of Sonic. It's not satisfying to
23:25not see him get better and why is he taking credit for the council's destruction when it was the lightning
23:31and frankinsonic? I hate that Sonic sarcastically says that would explain it for no reason while
23:37magically knowing there were only pages left to clear this up. If the writer didn't have padding
23:43he would have had time to clear it up. I don't know why the writer thinks it wasn't cleared up properly.
23:49That makes more sense than Eggman getting away because there was a magic box in this book. When
23:55Mickey says he's been researching frankinsonic's CPU I hate that Sonic says half seriously that he's
24:00worried it'll be like Robotnik because he doesn't trust tinkering with electricity and brains.
24:05How can you say that half seriously? And he doesn't have a brain. He's a robot.
24:13Mickey says the stupid defense for himself that he couldn't end up like Eggman because he hates eggs
24:18and prefers banana shakes. Which is a little bit more interesting than him just liking bananas as he
24:24stereotypically did. But he's missing Sonic's point. I guess he's doing that on purpose as a joke.
24:30Because he's completely confident that he won't turn out like Eggman. Eventually Sonic tells Sally
24:37she had a good plan and calls her pal. I guess his logic is that if the monster hadn't gotten confused
24:42by her group he would have just moved enough to shake Sonic off it. I like that Sally says modestly
24:48that she did just a little bit of help. The story wastes my time until Sally reminds him that Eggor still
24:54wasn't smashed. Since Sonic remembers that when Kevin was free he came close to supposedly stealing
25:01one of his best buddies from him. He tends to just worry about his missus and all those kids. At least
25:07the narration says he's talking unkindly. There's only padding until the story ends. Where Sally says it
25:14doesn't matter that Eggman got away because Sonic will always stop him. Which isn't a defense because it's
25:20the last book in the UK. I'm sure Sonic appreciated people cheering his name out of respect as most
25:26people would. But it could have been anyone who used the spanner to beat Frank and Sonic. Sonic just
25:31did it fast. It's too bad the story ended without the animal and Eggor getting freed. It was a bit
25:38disappointing how he used them since he never interacted with the main characters. This book by Carl
25:44Sargent sucked because it had more boring parts than the other books and the promising premise
25:50of Eggman wanting to make a monster movie in a castle only leads to Sonic and Tails taking a walk
25:55or running most of the time and boring dialogue with annoying characters that are either lame failed
26:01comedy relief or rude. It started out interesting but the O.C.'s ruined the book. They deserve to be
26:08called O.C.'s with all the focus on them when they've got no connection to the main characters.
26:14The premise of Eggman making a movie doesn't age well because Sonic Boom went on to do it in a
26:19better way where entertaining stuff was happening way more often. I talked about this book the least.
26:25There's so many conversations and narration that I didn't talk about because it wasn't important to
26:30the plot and there was nothing good or bad to say about it aside from the all-encompassing boring.
26:36The fact that the book tries to be funny so often is the problem.
