00:00Sonic the Hedgehog Robotnik's Revenge, 1994
00:04It starts out explaining the backstory of Sad AM in a few paragraphs.
00:09Why is it called a roboticizer by a lame other name?
00:13The Robo Machine.
00:15Too bad it starts out with a scene from Eggman's point of view with nothing happening for the longest time.
00:21So that's really boring and unnecessary.
00:24I'm only calling him Eggman because it's faster.
00:27The scene has someone get roboticized, but it's not someone we were already introduced to and so on.
00:34And anyone reading this would already know about the concept.
00:38The heroes aren't in this scene, so I couldn't care less about it.
00:43It is a well-written moment to Eggman that when Snively barges into his room without knocking with important information and paperwork for him,
00:51he tells him to leave and knock first before coming back in.
00:55It's a bit annoying, but it's supposed to be because he's the bad gun.
00:59And understands how petty Eggman actually is.
01:03Eggman tells Snively he shouldn't be rude to his pet Robot Chicken.
01:08I guess he only says that to spite him.
01:11I can understand why they got rid of Pluck in the later season.
01:14It doesn't make any sense that he would care about a pet.
01:17He calls Snively his fumbling fool and gets thanked for it.
01:22It's pathetic of Snively and it's supposed to show that Eggman's got that much power and intimidation factor.
01:28It seems like Snively becoming Ruten later in the series missed the point.
01:33His character was only respectful to him when he was just like this.
01:38Snively says he just found out from a network of spies that Eggman's sworn enemy Sonic has joined the Freedom Fighters.
01:47How is Sonic already Eggman's sworn enemy?
01:51He knew him when he was five, but he didn't do anything to him.
01:55So this is an alternate universe where Sonic was constantly pranking on before now.
02:01Eggman makes it clear that he's never had to deal with the Freedom Fighters until very recently.
02:07Snively gives him the idea to capture one of the weak ones for bait.
02:12Eggman pretends that it was his idea.
02:15This is backwards.
02:17Eggman should be the one who came up with the idea.
02:20The whole appeal of Sadie and Eggman is his showing Eggman respect by showing his intimidating and competent side from the games.
02:29Snively was already helpful by bringing in papers and info.
02:34Eggman already had a moment of pettiness, so this just comedy at its expense.
02:40The good moments with Eggman and Snively were worth the scene existing.
02:45It just should have started the story with Snively going to talk to him.
02:49This was a problem with Sadie and Em as well.
02:52There shouldn't be any padding in the scene from Eggman's point of view, because a scene like that is already padding.
02:59Sonic runs into the forest and sighs in relief because he doesn't have to worry about swapbots in here.
03:06Which only makes sense because in Sadie and Em he doesn't fight them.
03:10So I have to assume he knows they're invincible.
03:12Or he'd have no excuse for this.
03:14To the uninitiated this would be a very frustrating line.
03:18Because the same story that started out recapping the backstory of Sadie and showing a redundant roboticization.
03:25Didn't explain why Sonic would think robots are something for him to be scared of.
03:30It's not like they have a fiery force field around them.
03:33Maybe that would make it feel right.
03:35Like in the pilot of Sadie Em he goes into the top of a hollow stump to use a slide to reach Knothole.
03:43Which is called an underground home.
03:46Unlike the pilot where it's not underground.
03:48So here it's going with the Archie idea before the show came out which is vastly superior because I don't have to wonder how Eggman hasn't found the village with flying robots.
03:57Sonic appreciates the slide and calls it cool.
04:02And Sally just tells him to report like a buzzkill douchebag instead of being glad he's happy.
04:07Though she says please at least.
04:09Which is more than most characters ever do.
04:12And he complains and says she's always so serious.
04:15So at least it's sort of trying to give her a consequence to being this way.
04:19She insists that they've got to be serious to beat Eggman.
04:24Sonic wasn't being serious in most of Sonic's forces and still overthrew Eggman.
04:29But Sonic Sprite in Sonic 1 and 2 always had him look serious.
04:33So it's no wonder I always pictured him looking serious the whole time he's fighting a mech of Eggmans.
04:38So he can concentrate fully on not getting hit.
04:42The only time Sonic looks happy in Sonic 1 and 2 in canon is right after an adventure.
04:48And this is right after an adventure.
04:50So naturally he's happy.
04:52So there's no reason that him being happy when he's not in danger anymore would make it impossible for Eggman to get beaten.
04:59When he's only going to get beaten when he is on an adventure.
05:03And he wouldn't be Sonic if he was acting serious here.
05:06At least she says please again.
05:09Blaze might have been the same way in her position.
05:12Blaze has a lot of stuff in common with Sally.
05:15Sonic says there's no sign of robots within a 15 mile radius of the forest.
05:22So what?
05:23Not all is underground.
05:25There could be robots all over the forest for all it mattered.
05:28The whole village is underground isn't it?
05:31No one's going to leave the village.
05:34What's the point of having him on patrol?
05:36Just him saying Eggman's name gets his uncle Chuck and Mutsuki scared from bringing back bad memories.
05:43Oh, it's nice that Chuck's in this story, but why are they making him easily scared?
05:49He's not remotely afraid of planning against Eggman in the show.
05:53And all those bad memories would have had him be a robot with tough metal skin so he wouldn't have been in any danger.
06:00The narration unnecessarily reiterates that Chuck invented the rings.
06:05Which only works in the context of the show where you only ever see one ring at a time.
06:10It would take him forever to put all the rings in Green Hill Zone.
06:14It would be better if they explained that these are fake rings with the same wavelength and properties.
06:20Tails made a fake emerald and I never saw anyone complain that that should be impossible.
06:25Because it's said to be fake.
06:27It says Sally helped Sonic free Chuck from Eggman's clutches.
06:32That never happened in the show.
06:34So this really is an alternate universe.
06:37It says that Chuck and Mutsuki were de-roboticized permanently.
06:42With the rings alone.
06:44That's sort of overpowered and defeats the whole edge that roboticization has over badniks where it's much harder to undo when it comes to one individual Robium.
06:52To be fair, rings disappear after being used up and there's only ever a few rings around at a time.
06:58The most there ever were at once in Sadiam was a few.
07:02In Sadiam, the lake of rings can only produce one ring every 12 hours after the retcon.
07:08That's still only a few de-roboticizations a day when there would be thousands in one city alone.
07:14So there is still a point to having a roboticization to make Eggman threatening in a way that lasts for a whole show.
07:20If only Sadiam had rings be able to de-roboticize.
07:24Then there could be a lot more rescuing people in it so the heroes' missions would have a real point.
07:29In a show that took until the second season to have continuity.
07:33And even then that shouldn't be literally all they're doing. That would be repetitive.
07:38Sonic's reassuring to Chuck that Eggman will get beaten.
07:42Why is Roeder described as a sea lion instead of a walrus?
07:46In the picture before this page he looks the same.
07:50So it's only barely more creative because his race name is different in a way that's just inaccurate.
07:57He doesn't look like a real walrus anyways so it's inaccurate either way.
08:02But it's even more inaccurate.
08:04Roeder says he's making a portable robot detector so they'll know they're coming ahead of time.
08:10Which is only useful in a world where the robots can't be one-shotted.
08:14I don't know why they don't just call the SWAT bots robots when they're the only robots Eggman ever uses.
08:21Which is realistic but boring.
08:24Did they think the term robot sounded impossible to take seriously?
08:28It is but the word SWAT makes it sound sillier.
08:32And the word roboticize is a little hard to take seriously too.
08:35Maybe that was on purpose because it's a kids show.
08:38To downplay the dark tone with dissonant comedy which is always misguided.
08:43Humor and whimsy are supposed to relieve tension after scary moments, not join them.
08:48But season 2 had even more comedy so it's probably using silly terms for the same reason.
08:54I don't see the point of this scene dragging on past the Chuck thing.
08:58Anyone reading this already knows all of the sad AM cast.
09:02It stops being valuable after that because I already know that Sonic's friends with all of these guys.
09:08And what they're like.
09:09And that's what the scene's about now.
09:11And they're just like they are in sad AM.
09:14So I don't care.
09:15It should've just immediately caught to Sonic having an adventure.
09:19I hate that Sonic not only calls Tails little guy.
09:23But turns down Tails going on patrol with him because he's young.
09:27When not only is he older than the games in sad AM being 10.
09:31But he had him in his backpack in the pilot episode.
09:34And he never got hurt because of it.
09:36Since he outruns the robots.
09:38And having him in his backpack was stupid infantilization.
09:43Because Tails can keep up with Sonic by flying.
09:47And by just running in general.
09:51It's reasonable to assume that the people who made sad AM never saw a commercial for the Sonic games.
09:56And just naturally assumed that they were given all of the information about the games already.
10:01Because it would make no sense for Sega not to tell them something that matters.
10:06But they had too much faith in Sega.
10:10It is a shame they never even went to the genesis of a kid they knew and played a little bit of the games just to make sure.
10:17But that would require them to even consider that they weren't being given all of the information.
10:22And gamers keep forgetting that most adults aren't in the habit of playing games.
10:27Especially not back in the early 90's.
10:29It's easy for us to say because we're already gamers.
10:33It's not that non-gamers would hate to play a game.
10:36They just feel nervous about trying to start doing so because it could be difficult.
10:40Which is how I feel about starting a new file even in games I expect to like.
10:45And I don't hate video games.
10:47If they didn't like games that would have been nothing personal against Sonic the series.
10:52It'd be bad faith and childish to assume that for no reason.
10:56That's no different than assuming I hate Zelda because I don't want to play Skyward Sword because it's a motion control heavy game.
11:03It'd be over sensitive to assume that.
11:06I wish they played the games but their job description was just to make it cartoon.
11:11And Google didn't exist until 1998.
11:14Sega could have told them to play the games.
11:17Because then they would have made it more accurate.
11:20It'd be bad faith to assume they wouldn't have for no reason.
11:23Because there's nothing wrong with the games story wise.
11:26So it's Sega that deserves all the blame for stuff like this.
11:30I wish they didn't put Tails in the show.
11:33It wasn't worth it because it was almost never useful and his portrayal was insulting.
11:38All they were given when it came to Tails was just this concept art of him spin dashing.
11:44And he does spin dash in the pilot.
11:47So they got him right.
11:49The only reason it looks like they didn't is that they didn't have him spin dashing into robots all the time.
11:54And that's a problem with every character in the show.
11:57The only thing good is that he admires Sonic instead of being sarcastic with him.
12:02Which is a low bar if that's not enough for anyone.
12:06But Tails just a tiny part of Sadie M.
12:09So that doesn't make the story bad.
12:11It's a minor problem objectively speaking.
12:14It still pisses me off every time I see it.
12:17So I feel like it's a lot more of a big problem than it is.
12:21Sally gets interrupted by some boring typical greeting between Sonic and Bunny.
12:26I don't know why Bunny says it's good to see you.
12:29Because it's not like this is the first time she's seen Sonic in a very long time.
12:34I wonder if Sally would have been received well if she was like Bunny.
12:38Bunny doesn't get nearly as much hate.
12:41And she's a canon foreigner too.
12:43And then I get to see Antoine interrupted in his whiny lampshitting of the boring chitchat.
12:48When planning a scouting mission really is better.
12:52Sonic tells him to move aside brushing past them.
12:55And says they should start planning.
12:57Which is just what he said.
12:59It's nice to see Antoine be annoyed.
13:02But this is basically the same thing Eggman did to Snively.
13:05When he pretended he had his idea alone.
13:08So why draw that parallel?
13:10Sure they're both arrogant.
13:12And they both live by their own feelings.
13:14That's part of their whole appeal.
13:16But you're not supposed to make the main hero petty.
13:19When the whole point of showing Eggman's pettiness is that he's the bad guy.
13:24And you're supposed to hate him.
13:26You're supposed to hate Antoine.
13:28But you're also supposed to hate Snively.
13:30I think the message is it's okay for Sonic to be arrogant.
13:34Because he's a good person.
13:36The problem is everyone thinks they're a good person.
13:39So the message to them would be it's okay for me to be arrogant.
13:42Sally's polite enough not to call out Sonic on pretending that getting down to business was his idea entirely.
13:49She makes her disapproval obvious.
13:52But it's worth noting that she's still displaying better morality than some people by not being worse.
13:57The next morning.
13:59Why the next morning?
14:00Bunny, Sally, Antoine, and Rotor leave Knothole to go scouting.
14:05The narration's redundant.
14:07Of course they had to leave Knothole.
14:10They weren't going to do scouting inside the confounds of that place.
14:14The reason Sonic stayed behind was because he was the one who went out the day before.
14:19So that's Sally being nice to Sonic again in a subtle way.
14:23Or at least she's trying to be.
14:25Because I think he would be fine either way.
14:27He likes adventures.
14:28If he wasn't okay with this, he would have insisted on going with them.
14:33Why is Sonic staying behind and not hold them?
14:36So in this continuity, he'd rather sit around playing video games.
14:40Or watch TV.
14:41I would have said he should be just exploring the world for fun.
14:45But Sonic would have seen all the world by now after over a decade of having super speed.
14:51So if he did that, he'd be revisiting a place.
14:54What's the point of that?
14:56It's something that sounds like it makes sense because you can run really fast.
15:00But it doesn't really make sense.
15:02What could he do there that he couldn't do at home?
15:05To be fair, he could be playing baseball with himself by using his super speed.
15:10It's more good faith to assume that we're supposed to think he's doing something like that for fun.
15:14Because that's more in character, using his speed.
15:17And we should explain what he was doing.
15:19He's the protagonist of the franchise.
15:22And he's from the continuity that the most people are familiar with.
15:26Of course we'd want to know what he was doing.
15:29It's such a blatant convenience for Eggman that Sonic's not going with the other heroes
15:33because apparently they take turns.
15:35But in Satiem, I'm pretty sure they didn't take turns.
15:39And always all went together on every single adventure.
15:43Because it's strength in numbers.
15:45And it's a violation of common sense that the heroes would go on an adventure without Sonic.
15:50The only person in the team that has any magical powers.
15:54The rest of them are all just the rookie from forces.
15:57Personifications of the idea that anybody could be a hero.
16:01And all of them being that it's overkill.
16:04My point is, you'd think Sally would insist on having Sonic along as the bodyguard on every single adventure if she was really a good leader.
16:13The brilliant strategist.
16:15But the writing makes her out of character because the plot matters more to this writer.
16:20So it's not that she's dumb in general.
16:23I assume because that usually isn't the case in Satiem.
16:26Rotor has to know this is a bad idea since he's a genius.
16:29So why doesn't he tell her?
16:31Because he knows she's too stubborn?
16:34I hate that Antoine ever somehow thinks he could protect Sally or anybody.
16:39When not even Sonic is shown to be able to fight the robots with his own power.
16:44So what is Antoine supposed to do if robots show up?
16:48Bunny's needlessly rude by telling her friends to stop talking.
16:52At first I agree because this talking isn't engaging.
16:56In fact, usually the story isn't because it's nearly nothing I haven't seen before.
17:01Sally reassures Antoine that the world's going to go back to not being a depressing place when Eggman's defeated.
17:08That's nice.
17:09She didn't have to say that.
17:11He was naive to think it wasn't always depressing.
17:14He was 5 when he took over so what would he know?
17:17Bunny calls for help because of a bunch of buzzbombers trying to fire her energy at her and Rotor.
17:23Who would run for cover behind a boulder.
17:25But I love that they used animal shaped robots in this.
17:29Because that's nostalgic and more interesting to look at than swamp fonts.
17:33I wish the whole show had these.
17:36They can look like they're still using badniks and have roboticization in it.
17:41But there's no reason that he would actually put animals in badniks if he can outright roboticize them.
17:46Well it could be that there's only a few roboticizers.
17:49Why are the heroes staying in one place instead of running home?
17:53Shall I stress out from the situation enough to ask, didn't your detector warn you about this rotor?
17:59When meta wise, it's intuitive that the swamp bot detector wouldn't have detected a different type of robot.
18:05Somehow he was dumb enough to make it too specific.
18:08But you'd think the way that it would have to work, it would work for other robots too.
18:14Because it would be detecting lines of programming that every robot has in common.
18:19Why would it only be programmed to detect literally all of the programming of a robot instead?
18:24So her saying this only draws attention to the plot hole.
18:28Bunny starts pounding on the swamp bot's head.
18:32Finally, someone starts trying to fight these things.
18:35Good thing it was explained in the book that the heroes have almost just started.
18:39So she doesn't know better yet.
18:41Sally runs towards the swamp bot like she'd have any chance of being strong enough to get to let Bunny go.
18:47Because she's completely driven by her emotion of the situation.
18:51And the idea of running away like a smart person didn't cross her mind.
18:56Because that wouldn't be as nice for someone who wanted Sonic to be serious just because she was coming up with a plan.
19:02Yeah, this definitely hurt me out of character.
19:05Because this is here to make her heroic.
19:08I'd rather she look heroic by actually accomplishing something.
19:12And Antoine repeatedly calls her Princess instead of Sally.
19:16When he and her are friends.
19:18And the reason he does that is because he's the simp for her.
19:22Not Sonic obviously.
19:23Sonic talks back to her every chance he gets.
19:27Looks like he's not even trying.
19:29Rhoda's using his tools on the swamp bot detector.
19:32Saying out loud to comfort himself that if he can reverse the electrical currents that detects swamp bots.
19:38He could send an outgoing signal to them.
19:41And overload their circuits with electricity.
19:43But while it's simply reversing it also results in an increase of electricity.
19:48It's just written for techno babble to make him have a smart moment.
19:52For him to not get grabbed in all of the time he was talking.
19:56The robots must have been pretty far away from him.
19:59So he must have gotten himself pretty far away from his friends first.
20:02The swamp bot explodes.
20:04So he did also increase the voltage.
20:07And just didn't feel like saying it in the stress of the battle.
20:11It actually worked.
20:13And he gets to get rid of all of them that way.
20:16By the standards of Sad AM this is awesome.
20:20I thought he was going to fail and all of them were going to get kidnapped at once.
20:24So now the Sonic heroes have no excuse for not doing this to every robot from now on.
20:29And Rhoda would have no excuse for not making extra versions of this invention just in case.
20:35And giving them to everyone.
20:38And it would be such an anticlimactic easy way of beating the robots too.
20:43But it lays out the creativity of them getting beaten in a way I haven't seen a billion times.
20:47But it's novelty value would wear out after a while.
20:50Really quickly actually.
20:52Because the visually interestingness of fighting robots the game's way.
20:57Has a lot more lasting power than just he holds it near something and it explodes.
21:02It would have always had to have the robot explorer get destroyed to justify a visually interesting fight with them.
21:09As opposed to them just exploding with the heroes doing nothing.
21:12And how could it get destroyed when the robots wouldn't have gotten the chance to move?
21:16Oh right.
21:17It is a shame that Tails didn't get to do this instead of Rhoda.
21:21I already basically said that when I complained about him not being allowed to go along.
21:26But I didn't address the stupid he's not inventor thing.
21:30I wasn't thinking about him because he wasn't in the scene.
21:33It couldn't be helped though.
21:35Second America must have never known that he was a gadgeteer.
21:39I say that because Tails wasn't one in most of American Sonic for the longest time.
21:44So it was a miracle there was one episode of AMCH where Tails invented a flying bike and was called a genius.
21:51Since it's an outlier it must have just been a coincidence that only happened from the sheer amount of ideas in that show.
21:57Playing the games that were out at the time would have never given you the idea that he was a gadgeteer or programmer.
22:03He was a pilot but piloting is a different skill than inventing and programming.
22:08Obviously seeing him do that wouldn't give anyone the idea that he should be able to do the same thing Rotor does here.
22:14It's not like people say Sonic should be inventing things because he piloted the plane if you played as Tails.
22:21And again the concept art they were given for the pilot doesn't even remotely hint at it being an inventor.
22:29Tails Adventure was the first time he was an inventor.
22:32But that was released several months after this.
22:36In its obscure Game Gear game.
22:38Of course it didn't change the continuities.
22:41So there was just no possible way the writer or Sega of America could have known he should have had Tails do this.
22:48Sega of Japan knew.
22:50But never cared enough to tell him.
22:52Interfering with an American property wouldn't make any sense when they had a Sega of America for that.
22:59What else would it be for?
23:01Sega of Japan could have and should have told Sega of America all the information about the characters just for Tails' sake.
23:08The blame rests solely on them.
23:10If they really loved the world and characterization of the games and thought it was the superior way,
23:15You'd think they would have made the case universally.
23:19So their series would be the best it could be and be their way as many times as possible.
23:25For the sake of both their egos and quality control.
23:28They must have not seen a point to that because they wouldn't have gotten to see every story that'd result from that from start to finish.
23:35Since only people not in Japan would have seen the continuities produced by Deacon, Archie and so on.
23:40The type of TV companies and comic publishers that never produced Japanese versions of things.
23:46The only believable reason for why they didn't care enough to make sure their ideas about Sonic is were known by every branch of Sega.
23:54Was that if they couldn't become fans of those other continuities,
23:57Why not have the other continuities be inaccurate so their stuff would look better?
24:02It matched up with a rule forcing the classic Eggman design to be exclusive to Japan.
24:07Which is what forced SEC and the others to switch them to the OSDH design.
24:12Just because this cynical accusation doesn't mean it can't be true.
24:16When humans run companies instead of emotionless robots.
24:20So of course they're going to make entirely emotional decisions at times.
24:24Like the board of directors of Sega of Japan discontinued the Genesis out of jealousy because it was doing really well.
24:31While the Genesis and Japan flopped.
24:34The other explanation wouldn't make them look good either.
24:38That they were too stupid to think of the obvious idea of telling every branch of Sega everything about Sonic.
24:45I'm not saying they should have forced them to do it their way.
24:49Just tell them what their ideas were.
24:51But it'd be impossible to be that stupid.
24:54So that'd be the real bad faith answer.
24:58More likely they never cared about Sonic story wise.
25:01Because it is just a video game platformer series to them.
25:04Miyamoto also never cared about story in his own video game series.
25:08And it was Sega of America that had to convince Sega of Japan to even make a Sonic franchise in the first place.
25:15When Sega of Japan just wanted to be a demo for the Genesis.
25:18Sally says Bunny's been taken by one of the robots.
25:22So the Swatbot carrying her had run far enough away by the time Rotor finished.
25:27And Sally plans to go home to tell Sonic instead of have Rotor chase after Bunny.
25:32So she must have known that a robot would run faster than Rotor.
25:36So it's not like he'd be able to catch up with it to blow it up.
25:39What she should be saying is.
25:41He doesn't have enough stamina to just keep running after it.
25:45So they're gonna have to stop.
25:47And by the time they catch their breath.
25:50It's gonna be way too far ahead of them.
25:52Sally tells Sonic what happened to Bunny.
25:54And states the obvious that she's afraid Eggman will roboticize Bunny.
25:58It took me out of the story because she should know he'd already know this was a concern.
26:03It's not necessary.
26:05It should have just had the narration say that everyone was afraid of this.
26:10The narration says Sonic grew serious.
26:13But then he has a lame line that this calls for a supersonic rescue mission.
26:18And it clashes.
26:20He's taking it seriously but still sounding arrogant.
26:24He wants to run to Robotropolis.
26:27And Sally grabs his arm.
26:29And instead of telling him to bring the robot explorer with him.
26:33And point him in the direction of where Bunny was being taken.
26:39And then go there alone.
26:41She says they've gotta come up with a plan.
26:44That's a plan.
26:45That's the only plan they should be doing.
26:48And all the time she spent running here at least someone would have thought of that.
26:53And for no reason she states the obvious again.
26:56They already know they've gotta rescue Bunny.
26:59Sadly the story goes away from them to bore me focusing on Bunny when she's not able to do anything.
27:06And the writers should know we'd know they wouldn't have the guts to fully roboticize her.
27:10How do the prisoners here look hungry?
27:13You don't look in a different hungry.
27:16They want to have been kept here long enough to get dinner.
27:19She's put in a cell and I get to see her tell Eggman his plan's gonna fail.
27:23She's not half robot yet so she can't bend the bars off.
27:27Sonic somehow feels it necessary to state the obvious that they have to go to Robotropolis and save Bunny.
27:34And then he adds on that they have to destroy the roboticizer.
27:37Antoine asks how they could even get inside Robotropolis because it has swap bots.
27:43Even though Eggman had complained at the start of the story that the heroes were being a thorn in his side lately.
27:49And why would he say that if they weren't going to Robotropolis?
27:53Which isn't called Scrap Brain Zone because that name is obviously lame.
27:58Granted so is Robotropolis because Robo's in it.
28:01But at least the word brain's not in that name.
28:04There was also no scrap there. Just metal.
28:07Metropolis Zone has nothing wrong with it as a name.
28:10It also doesn't tell you anything and it's a rip off of Superman.
28:14But when that's all that's wrong they should have just gone with that.
28:18Not every name has to be as blatant as possible or the naming scheme would get too on the nose.
28:24And people like Superman.
28:26I never complained in Sonic the comic that Eggman's capital city wasn't called Robotropolis.
28:32And now I really know why.
28:34Antoine really is a moron.
28:36It should be obvious that Sonic could get the robots blown up with a robot exploder.
28:41But nobody says this.
28:43Sally's idea is to tell Chuck to design a giant motorized robot that looks like Eggman.
28:50It sounds cool but I'm just distracted by how convoluted it is that she won't have Sonic use the robot exploder.
29:00The writer either forgot all about it or made the hack narrative cheat of not letting it exist anymore or at least not letting the memories of it exist anymore.
29:10Because then it'd get in the way of the plot it wants to tell.
29:14How do you think even kids wouldn't be insulted by this?
29:18Geez, while it would be frustrating the writer could have had Antoine trip on a rug while holding a drink and ruined the robot exploder.
29:27That'd at least justify it not being used and give Antoine an Antoine moment in the doing things department.
29:34Anyways, why does Sally say motorized like a robot wouldn't be guaranteed to be motorized?
29:40And says it should take a long time to make a robot, why is she even suggesting this idea?
29:45Everyone must have assumed that Eggman won't roboticize Bonnie unless the heroes are there to witness it.
29:51This isn't how Eggman was like in Sadie M when Antoine and Sally were captured in his base.
29:58His writer ended up understanding Eggman from the games better.
30:02The same guy who insisted on fighting Sonic himself in the Eggmobile, which could only be from sadism, is of course going to do something else just out of sadism.
30:13Of course he's sadistic.
30:15And while his wife is taken as a girl who did what aouse.
30:17But he doesn't know what to do.
30:18Still a man who never lost a man named Friedman.
30:19Just as a child, he will be hurting him.
30:20So you fell to the only one.
30:22He was trying to be a guy who was trying to be mad.
30:24He was trying to avoid his true suckers with my kid.
30:26He was trying to be a guy who was trying to fight against him.
30:28And as a boy who was trying to fight against him,
30:31He was trying to be a girl that he wouldn't say anything.
30:32So you get a girl who had a girl who had to be killed.
30:34And as a girl who was trying to pick up on a guy who had to do something else,
30:36And he was trying to fight against him.
