00:00well hello there nice to see you're back and today we're going to carry on with tampers plate
00:16tampers now this particular one is called a reversing plate tamper we'd call it about a
00:21mid-range tamper there's the smaller ones that are only directional they only go forward and
00:26we have them larger in this but this is a great tamper if you're going to do your own driveway
00:32now this will compact down to about 18 inches or so again it's a factor of moisture and compaction
00:39and you can do it in layers maybe six or eight inch layers your stone but this is called a reversing
00:46plate for the reason that once you put this down onto your stone and you start it it's very easy
00:53to use because your handle controls your forward and your reverse motion so you can push it forward
00:59it'll naturally go forward you can pull the handle back and it'll come back so it makes it nice and
01:06easy to get into those areas right up by the front of the garage or the carport areas because that's
01:13where they usually your your driveway will sink a bit so this way you can get right up against it
01:18and give it good compaction and because you're putting vehicles on the driveway you must use a
01:24bigger plate tamper the smaller plates that are used for patios and your maybe your little walkway
01:32areas sidewalks it doesn't give you enough compaction when you're putting heavy weight on it and you sure
01:38find that out within a few years after you've done it especially your stone if you start getting that
01:43washboard effect which is where the tires are on your driveway and that's what gets compacted down
01:48because of the vehicle and especially if you've got larger vehicles or you got campers or something
01:53like that you'd want to use at least this plate tamper and it's well worth a little extra cost to
01:59to use it's regular fuel Honda engine easy to service up easy to add fuel and the nice feature as well
02:08as it's got these wheels on the back so that you can tip back and easily move it around and it's about
02:17400 pound maybe 325 350 pounds but at least it's manageable and it's something that is going to give
02:24you a lot better compaction so there's another idea that you can use and good luck with that project
02:30and don't forget to subscribe
02:38you
