00:00They are muffler pros and we're not gonna be quiet about it. Magnaflow rules! And on this
00:10installment of Overhauling, we're here at the capital of cat-back systems and high-performance
00:14exhaust. And one premium installation is ready and waiting for a certain 1968 ride. A classic
00:20Olds is about to become new. And it all happens in seven days at the only place where it can
00:25be done, where the owner gets tricked and the car gets tricked out. Right here on Overhaul.
00:30He's Chris. She's Courtney. And what do you get when you cross an exhausting head
00:59numbing car build with a car exhaust building headquarters? You get Overhauling and Magnaflow
01:04working together to shock, stun, and startle a man with the musical name of Franchimone.
01:12That's Chris Franchimone. He's the guy we're fooling all week as we grab a 68 Olds 442 and
01:18make it into a trophy worthy of a guy in love with his car. Now our main insider is Chris's
01:23wife Jennifer. She's given us a lot of dope on Chris and his Olds. He's had the car for,
01:28get this, 24 years. He was just 15 when he got it from its original owner, his grandmother. And to
01:35this day, he even carries a picture of these wheels in his wallet. Insider 2 is Chris's pal, Brian. He's
01:41going to give us tips on what his buddy wants in a cool car, as well as help us with a few
01:45diversionary moves that'll allow us to keep the ball in the air when needed. Okay, now insider number
01:50three is Scott. He's Chris and Jen's neighbor who also happens to be a car painter and an insurance
01:56adjuster. The prank that'll swipe the car for us, it involves Scott offering to give the car a paint job.
02:02The following quartet comes to us from our shop here at Magnaflow. Adam Diaz is an ace design tech in
02:09this place. Richard Waitus is another top builder, now on R18. This exhaust headquarters is also repped
02:16by the grinding and cutting Marko Milosevic. And demanding Darren Shubin has the nickname of slave
02:22driver in this neck of the woods. Okay, that's part of the team. Let's start giving some life to the
02:28dream. Like we've been saying, Chris's neighbor Scott does some car painting. For a while now, he's been
02:34telling Chris that he'll give the old heap a new coat. Chris has been reluctant, never wanting the car
02:39out of his sights for very long. But once Jennifer hooked up with overhauling, the hard press has
02:45been on. And Chris has decided to finally let neighbor Scott do the paint. So our mark dropped
02:50it off here at Scott's before the workday. And now, enter what's her name and what's his face.
02:55All right, we're leaning up against Chris's 442 right now. As you can see, it's in pretty good
02:59shape. Now, he thinks the car is going to be going to the paint shop. That's right. Let's get this thing
03:03down to the A-team because I know that we're running a little bit late. We got to get this thing going on.
03:06Let's do it. I heard this thing going on. I'm ready. Let's check it out.
03:17All right, Chris. We got your car. We look styling. Yeah, right, car? Give this thing a little
03:22test. See what it's got.
03:27So while we get this show on the road, let's meet a few more of those eager and waiting A-teamers.
03:33Original parts group is the home to overall motorhead and gearhead Jeff Farina. Craig
03:38Chaffers has created a top street rod shop known to all of Huntington Beach as CMC Designs. Matthew
03:44Harris is one busy and in-demand car builder. Automotive whiz Charlie Tisson comes to overhauling
03:50from K&A filters. And team captain Chip Foose is once again the leader of the pack. That's
03:56the rest of the gang that needs us back at the shop. But as you can see, we're having too much
04:00fun joyriding and Chris is totally ripped off 442. Love that smell. Burning rubber. Chris,
04:07this thing has some serious power. We just burned a lot of rubber and now we're on our way down
04:11to Madden the floor. We like it. We're having so much fun stealing your car. And this is just
04:18the beginning. Uh-oh. Problems. Major problems. The car just blew its water hose. We're running
04:25at close to 250 right now. Of course, a busted hose is going to let loose with all the coolant
04:31in the radiator. So as we pull over for a look-see, a peek under the hood tells us something. Yeah,
04:36it tells us that this car is not nearly as good of shape as we first thought. In fact, this old's
04:42is old. Still, we try to help things out with a little bottled water. So as we nurse along a very
04:48thirsty car, let's check back with our crew and our trusty team captain.
04:55It's day one. It is now one o'clock and we're still waiting for the car to get here.
04:59All right, we're going to keep the windows down. I got the heater cranking. That's going to relieve
05:03a little heat coming off the engine. We're going to drive very slowly like a grandma and hopefully
05:09we'll be able to make it back to Magnaflow in one piece. Yeah, because I know Foose and the guys
05:13are eagerly awaiting our arrival. We're a little behind schedule here. Sorry, Foose. I think
05:18we're just going to break for lunch and they'll come in and we'll get started after lunch. We'll
05:23see you soon.
05:32No more donuts.
05:34No more donuts or sandwiches. Lunchtime is way over and the A-Team is hungry to take a bite
05:40out of this Oldsmobile. So as we finally creep the car into our headquarters, we're immediately
05:44swarmed by a pack of guys who have now lost most of one valuable and crucial day.
05:50We made it. We barely made it, but we made it.
05:54It's here, but what's the boss's view?
05:58Got a lot of work ahead of us.
06:00Now it looks like the car obviously has been painted. It was some sort of yellow before, huh?
06:04Yeah, it was butternut.
06:05Butternut. Insert cheesy Foose joke now.
06:08Better not ask me to say anything.
06:11Oh, no.
06:12If a Foose pun won't make you groan, a lot of this car will. Some of it's in good shape,
06:18a lot of it's in bad shape, and depending on their area of expertise, each A-Team member
06:23will have a different view of the ride.
06:28Well, this is Jennifer Fran-Chamon, Chris's wife, the owner of the 442, and how are you feeling?
06:35Emotional.
06:36Why are you, why do you feel that he's so deserving of this?
06:40Because he allows me to stay home and take care of our children, and I don't have to work,
06:46and we live paycheck to paycheck, and it gets really tough, and he's had that car on the
06:51back burner since the day we met.
06:53Now, does this car define Chris?
06:55Yes, yes. To me, when I think of Chris, I think of 442.
06:59So, Richard, do you think we're going to dyno it?
07:01Well, she looks safe enough. We'll go ahead and run some quick safety inspects on it,
07:05throw her on the rollers, and see what she'll do.
07:07Since we're going to keep it, we've got to see what we're doing.
07:11The dyno process goes as follows. We're going to get inside, we're going to bring the car up to
07:14normal operating temperature, get all the conditions normalized like we do on the road,
07:18stimulate some airflow over the front of the motor and radiator, bring her up to speed, and let her rip.
07:22And let her rip, we did.
07:28All right, that was fun. Even standing still, it's fun to go 105 miles an hour in a car.
07:32Looks like we're working with the car with a pretty solid 245 horse and a good 320,
07:38325 foot-pounds of torque to the wheels. All in all, we'll look to see if we can get this
07:42thing to the 300 bar. Mainly, though, if we can push that 220 foot-pounds of torque
07:47to the mid-range of 375 to 400, we'll really be able to get this monster moving.
07:51And this 68 was a monster back in the day. 1968 was a big year for the 442. For the first time,
07:59442 became its own model. This two-door Sport Coupe is rare. One of only 4,282 built that year.
08:09A car with this much history means a lot to its owner.
08:12Hey, Brian, this is Chip Foose from Overhawn.
08:14So to get a few design ideas, Chip calls Chris's best pal, Brian.
08:17Been looking at his car for 20 years.
08:20What kind of guy is he?
08:23He's an active guy, likes sports. He's real meticulous. He takes care of everything he has.
08:30But he likes his muscle cars. He likes horsepower. He likes to do a nice burn out here and there.
08:37Not afraid to use his car.
08:40Is this his first car?
08:41It's the only muscle car, classic car he's ever had. He got it when he was 16 years old. When he first got his driver's license, his grandpa gave it to him.
08:51I'll definitely make the car identifiable. I'll be personalized to him. But yeah, I don't want to just do a restoration because I can open up a book and see a restored car.
09:01Right.
09:02And then when somebody sees it, they know it's the overhaul of Knolls.
09:07It's meetin' time.
09:10Chip has renamed this the accountability meeting.
09:17Accountability, as in, hey, you do it.
09:20Let's be responsible for the dash and hardware on the...
09:23Craig, you want to fit the hood?
09:25Who wants to pull the seat out?
09:26Pull the seats out.
09:27What are you doing, Foos?
09:28Me?
09:29I've got a meeting to go to.
09:30Oh!
09:32All right, that was a successful accountability meeting.
09:35That's right.
09:36Now it's time to get building.
09:37We have a direction.
09:40Let's do it!
09:41But building can't happen until a lot of un-building goes back.
09:46I'm just helping Matthew remove the bumper splash shield here.
09:50And that's not all Matt's up to. This guy has more than a few areas to tend to.
09:54We've got to make sure everything fits and aligns first before the paint's on.
09:58Because if we have to tweak something and it's painted, you can't really do it as well as you can now.
10:03It's a few thousand parts needing a few thousand tools.
10:06And just when we think that we have all the right gear to do this teardown,
10:10we suddenly hit a little rock in the road.
10:13And right now we're having trouble getting the wheels off
10:15because the lug nut key that the guys had got kind of stripped.
10:19So they're calling around trying to find a new lug nut key
10:22so we can get the wheels off so the Bear Brakes guys can start getting in there.
10:25Well, the guys went and got started medieval style,
10:28but they soon found the lug nut key in the Oldsmobile's ashtray.
10:32Yeah, but guess what?
10:34It wasn't really any kind of king-sized help.
10:36By then, a lot of the strip bolts were discovered,
10:39and the A-Team made do with a tap-down ratchet and a can of EZ-On.
10:43They got all the old wheels off,
10:44and now Bear Brakes can get under there and do all their stuff.
10:47What we're doing now is we had to remove the axles.
10:50We've got to turn down the ends so that we can fit the big brake kit.
10:53They were originally equipped with a drum.
10:55The new hat for the center of the rotor is actually quite a bit smaller.
10:59We've got to take these down from 6 1⁄4 down to just shy of 5 1⁄8.
11:05So we're going to go ahead and hook it up to the lathe here
11:07and cut it down much like you see brakes being cut down on a brake rotor
11:09to reduce the size so we can fit the new brake system on the car.
11:13Coming up, it's not easy being an insider.
11:16The secrets can get to you.
11:30On day one here at Overhaaland,
11:32our Mark Criss parted with his beloved 68 Oldsmobile,
11:35accepting his neighbor Scott's offer to paint the car.
11:38But, of course, Scott is one of our insiders,
11:41so we took it instead and drove it down here to our secret hideaway at Magnaflow.
11:45That's right.
11:45And once we got the overheated wreck here,
11:47we took it apart, made some plans, ordered some parts,
11:50and then kicked it in gear, getting a good head start on a 7-day deadline.
11:53And now, ladies and gents, stand back and get ready for the fireworks of day two.
11:58All right, so standing here with Matt,
12:02we have discovered there's a little bit of body putty on there, huh?
12:05Yeah, what it looks like is when they did the color change,
12:08it looks like they may have had just a little bit of rust bubbling through here,
12:11like what you see right here.
12:13So rather than fix it the right way,
12:15it looks like they just caked it on with some plastic filler,
12:18and you can see how it's been bubbling up through there,
12:20and then obviously it's coming through real severe right there.
12:23Okay, here we got Marco who's going to help me out
12:26and trim this old rusty panel off for me.
12:29We've got to be a little bit careful to remove just this outer skin
12:32and see what we have back there.
12:34Chances are it's going to be a little bit seedy
12:36with all that rust and such there.
12:39Matt calls it that rust and such there,
12:41but to those of us who are a bit more dramatic about it all,
12:44we like to think of it as a horrible and destructive virus
12:47that must be stopped before it can invade
12:49the rest of Chris' precious automobile.
12:51Yeah, that's about 30 years of these and we've got molding clips.
13:01There's all kinds of goodies in here.
13:04We've got a filler piece and we'll weld it in here
13:06and get rid of all this rot.
13:10We've got to do the other side and the rears too.
13:12There was a lot of it.
13:14There is a lot of rust,
13:15so we're pulling Courtney off the parts restoration
13:17and putting her to work on the brown stuff.
13:19Rust repair, rust repair, rust repair.
13:22We're getting her there.
13:23We want to get her over to paint
13:24so we can get her back for the assemblies
13:26and see what we can make of this thing.
13:29The plan is, the plan,
13:32and if we can stick to it,
13:33is to get all these rust repairs taken care of
13:37before the end of day two.
13:39Another plan underway is to vandalize the car
13:41for an upcoming prank.
13:43Hey, Foose, what are you up to with the wire?
13:44Breaking the windshield.
13:45Foose, hold on a second.
13:49You're doing my job here.
13:51It's the kind of assignment we take seriously.
13:55As part of the vandalization process,
13:58Foose is strategically, very precisely,
14:01making it look as though the windshield was cracked.
14:04Nobody puts art into a vandalization job
14:06quite like Chip.
14:08Hey, let's show Jennifer the car.
14:10Go down the car and see some of the changes
14:12we've made already.
14:13In only 24 hours,
14:14we've got it in a much different shape
14:16than the last time you saw it.
14:17Good thing he's not here.
14:19Yeah, he wouldn't be too happy, huh?
14:20Because the famous last words to our neighbor was,
14:24he liked his vinyl top, but it's gone.
14:28I love this emotion right here.
14:30This is just raw, loving emotion
14:33for her deserving husband.
14:35For you, Chris.
14:36Well, I'm either so dead
14:38or he's going to be so happy, but...
14:41It's the latter, for sure.
14:42Yeah.
14:42I know that he didn't want it
14:44to look like his grandmother's Oldsmobile.
14:46He didn't.
14:47I know he doesn't really care
14:49for the original Rams.
14:51Well, those two things
14:52are being changed for sure.
14:54And I think he's going to owe me after this.
14:56Absolutely.
14:58Chris, I hate to have you witness this,
14:59but authenticity is where it's at, man.
15:03Here's your original headlight from 1968.
15:04We're getting new ones for you.
15:07Don't worry.
15:10Oh!
15:12Oh!
15:12It worked.
15:13All right, so we're halfway through day two,
15:16and the car is on the dolly.
15:17On its way out the door,
15:19ready to be totally vandalized.
15:21We're going to spray paint the heck out of it.
15:23We're going to make it look like all blast was broken.
15:25It's going to look like it was completely gutted.
15:28And then we're going to take pictures
15:29and show them to you, Chris.
15:34Chris, we only felt it was fair
15:40that we messed with your car.
15:41Like, what about this?
15:45Before making it the coolest 442 you've ever seen.
15:49This is what's called thinking ahead.
15:51We can't play this gag out yet for Chris.
15:53At the moment, our mark doesn't even know
15:55that his car was stolen.
15:56But once he is informed of that,
15:58the man is going to be bummed.
16:00Well, more like devastated.
16:01A bit past the time when he's informed,
16:04we'll claim that the car turned up.
16:06And guess what?
16:07We'll have the photos to prove it.
16:12Happy 40th birthday.
16:15See, we get to have our cake and eat it, too.
16:17We tell Chris that the car's gone,
16:19then that the car's back,
16:20but not in a condition
16:21where he can have it returned right away.
16:23Complicated?
16:24You bet.
16:25Fun?
16:25You don't even know the half of it.
16:26The goal is to get the car
16:31into body and paint
16:31within the next hour or so.
16:33And that means we have to work really fast.
16:37That may be her goal,
16:38but realistically,
16:38it might take a smoolder longer than that.
16:41It'll happen according to the clock
16:42if it's up to the gang from Hotchkiss.
16:45Scott and the guys plan on doing the incredible
16:47in a time frame that's impossible.
16:49You better appreciate this, Chris.
16:51You're getting the best here.
16:53It's going to handle about like a Corvette.
16:55That's a fine-looking rear end.
16:58Right now, we're reinstalling the rear end.
17:01You just put whole urethane bushings on
17:03and also lower training arms
17:05and upper training arms and mount braces.
17:07Mount braces, rear ends.
17:09It's a lot of talk and a lot more work.
17:12The Hotchkiss Posse is determined
17:13to do all this installing
17:15without falling behind schedule.
17:19Presenting yet another speed demon.
17:21He's been sitting on the ideas
17:22for a couple days now,
17:23but once he starts drawing,
17:25the friction of pens and pencils
17:26could set the page on fire.
17:33I'm pretty happy with this sketch.
17:35I kind of like this.
17:36What it does is it incorporates
17:37the original color of the car
17:38as well as his favorite colors.
17:42I've got black here right now.
17:44I'm going to do this one
17:44where that's in a dark blue
17:46because he really likes blue.
17:47And we'll see how that looks as well.
17:55Color after color and page by page,
17:57the final design becomes
17:58more and more solidified,
18:00coming together in a way
18:01that's going to delight the paint team
18:02over at M2.
18:04That's the shop next door
18:05and they're ready and eager
18:06to put the hue on the car.
18:07With the drawing this solid,
18:09the exercise now is to follow the picture.
18:11Coming up,
18:12how much can a man love a car
18:15more than you can believe?
18:28On days two and three
18:30here at Overholland,
18:31work continued on Chris's 68 Olds
18:33and a couple of visitors
18:34stopped by our set
18:35here at Magnaflow.
18:36It was Jennifer and little Vinny,
18:38the wife and son of our Mark Chris,
18:40two of our insiders
18:41who came to check out the action
18:42and give us the scoop.
18:44And now as day four begins,
18:45I'm reminded of a question
18:46we tend to kick around
18:47here at Overholland.
18:48Which is more fun,
18:50the tricking out
18:50or the just plain tricking?
18:54Have you seen the sketch?
18:55This is actually the sketch
18:57that Chip came up with.
18:58And Chip, you can kind of explain that.
19:00She was just telling me
19:00that Chris was kind of looking
19:01for a silvery graphite color
19:03and you've kind of captured it
19:05in the lower half of the two-tone.
19:07Explain to us what you're thinking was
19:08when you were drawing it.
19:10When we pulled the vinyl top
19:11and saw that it was a butternut color,
19:13I wouldn't want to go
19:14with that original color.
19:15I'd want to richen it up.
19:16He liked the 442
19:17Yeah, that rally stripe
19:18looks really cool.
19:19And do that in a blue
19:20because you say he likes blue.
19:22Do the stripe between them in blue.
19:24And then this stripe
19:26is also reminiscent
19:26of the original Hurst Oles.
19:29That's right.
19:29Which you said he liked that.
19:30That's right, yes he did.
19:31So I'm taking that line,
19:32just the bottom half of it,
19:33and pulling it around to the back
19:35and use that as a two-tone breakup.
19:36I'm going to go next door
19:37and they've got a color chip.
19:40So I'll look at that chip
19:41and then I'll find a mustardy,
19:42like a Dijon mustard color
19:44that I think would go with it real well.
19:46All right, so this is Brian Newman.
19:47He's Chris's best friend.
19:49You guys have been friends for 22 years?
19:51A lot of years, yeah.
19:52Yeah, since I was 14, 15,
19:54back in high school
19:56and about the same time he got the car.
19:58Are you excited to be part of this prank?
19:59Oh, I'm stoked.
20:00Oh, it's perfect.
20:02It's a perfect payback
20:03because he helped me get my car back.
20:05So if there's some way
20:06I can help him get his car back,
20:07it'd just be perfect.
20:08Brian, what do you think his reaction's going to be
20:10when he finds out that it's missing?
20:12Oh, he's going to freak.
20:13He's going to freak
20:14because his grandpa gave him the car.
20:20So the car's been in the family for a while,
20:22and according to Foose,
20:24as long as it's going to stay in the family,
20:25it should be cool.
20:27And to be as cool as Chip wants,
20:29the car's going to need body mods.
20:32Obviously, we're shaving those door handles,
20:35got the patches in.
20:36We'll do a little hammer and dolly work now
20:38to finalize that fit and alignment of that panel.
20:41This team's got to hustle.
20:43The car needs paint, and soon.
20:45Yeah, this door's just about ready to roll.
20:47This was his teenage Oldsmobile,
20:49and now he's almost 40.
20:50Now he needs his midlife crisis Oldsmobile.
20:53That is what I want to give him.
20:57That's awesome.
20:59It's darker than that one,
21:00but it's awesome.
21:01They're real similar.
21:02This is a little warmer.
21:04Warm is good.
21:05Yeah?
21:06Come on.
21:07You're Chip Foose.
21:08You do what you want to do.
21:10What do you think his reaction's going to be in the end?
21:13I think he's going to be stoked
21:15because it's something that he dreamed about doing,
21:18but he could never afford to do something like this.
21:21I mean, everything like that all at once.
21:24Just no way.
21:24Okay, remember how Scott was going to paint Chris's car?
21:28Well, it's time for the mark to get some bad news.
21:32I don't know how to tell you this,
21:34but last time my buddy's shop got broken into.
21:37Oh, no, no.
21:38Somebody borrowed the car and, you know,
21:41your car and another car
21:42and filled up all his equipment.
21:45Are you serious?
21:48Yeah.
21:49I had a couple of the parts taken off.
21:51I had probably about 30 hours worth of work done on the back.
21:54You know, but...
21:59You're serious?
22:00Yeah, I'm serious.
22:01Does this guy have any idea who might have done it or...?
22:04No.
22:05He's clueless?
22:07Yeah.
22:07I don't know what to say, man.
22:08Oh, I don't either.
22:09Trust me.
22:13Oh, Scott.
22:16Scott.
22:18Oh, man.
22:21Talk about a left view.
22:23I just want it back, man.
22:24I don't care if it's painted or not.
22:25I don't care if it's in pieces or not.
22:28He doesn't care if it's painted.
22:30He doesn't care if it's in pieces.
22:32Hey, I mean, that's where we are right now,
22:34so we could hand it back over at this very second.
22:37But we did, Chris, and we did this old,
22:39so it's not being returned until it's overhauled.
22:42It's getting there,
22:43and it's getting over to the nearby M2 Collision Care Center,
22:46where this newly blocked body
22:47is going to get the treatment of its life.
22:50We're finishing up the body work on this car
22:52and going over the last few details,
22:55and we're going to be getting ready to put it in primer.
22:57That's Jason,
22:58and his team of finishers and painters
22:59are going to attack this old
23:01like exterminators in a grudge match,
23:03soldiers letting loose on a breed of bugs
23:05who make cars old, stale, and totally uncool.
23:08And after a few hours of spraying,
23:10one thing is clear.
23:11This crew is winning.
23:14Well, the sealer's done.
23:15Now we're just waiting for a chip
23:16so we can start putting on the base.
23:17The outside's happening,
23:19but we've got to get under the hood, too.
23:20With that covered,
23:22it's time for the Foos News.
23:24Jason just got the car sealed.
23:26We're ready to start painting it.
23:27We'll get the yellow, the silver,
23:28the fade, the vertical stripes.
23:30Untape it all.
23:31Make sure everything's fine.
23:32Get the clear on it.
23:33Tomorrow we'll be able to black it out,
23:34start color sanding and rubbing it,
23:35get it to the other side,
23:36and start assembling.
23:39Okay, so now we're just going to do this stripe here on?
23:41Yeah.
23:41Last.
23:41All right, I gotcha.
23:42It's last call for Chip.
23:44The plan on paper,
23:45the now perfect body,
23:46the color mix.
23:48It's all speak now or forever hold your peace
23:50because it's going on and it's for good.
23:52So Foos just wants to be sure,
23:54especially this many days into the gig.
23:56Early morning day five.
23:57It's 1.30 right now.
23:59We've got the two-tone laid out.
24:01We'll get the silver, the dark blue on it,
24:03get it cleared.
24:04Tomorrow we'll get it over to the other side
24:05and start assembling.
24:06Chip has a full palette on this ride.
24:08He has his own sense of style,
24:10the Mark's menu of desires,
24:11and the history of this old 442.
24:14In 68,
24:14Olsenbill had a vertical stripe
24:16with a 442 package.
24:18And Chris had mentioned
24:19that he liked that graphic.
24:21I hope that's correct, Chris.
24:22And he also liked blue,
24:23so you're going to get a little blue on your car.
24:25He's getting blue?
24:27Chris is already blue.
24:28And he's going to stay blue
24:30until he gets this car back.
24:31But that won't happen
24:32until this painting is done.
24:34This is a long night of spring.
24:36You're watching overhauling.
24:38He's full color.
24:39It looks like a big win
24:42for Chip, Jason, and the gang
24:43here at M2 Collision Care Center.
24:45And of course,
24:46after all that hard work,
24:48who else but Foosh
24:49would be ready for more?
24:51I like it.
24:51I want to start getting
24:52some pieces on it.
24:53Detail.
24:54And so while the details
24:55climb aboard the olds,
24:56it's time for insider Brian
24:58to take our Mark's call.
25:02Hello.
25:02Hello.
25:03Hello.
25:03What's up?
25:06Rizzy, what's up, man?
25:07It's working, man.
25:09Hey, I got a good one for you.
25:10What's that?
25:11My car's gone.
25:13What do you mean, gone?
25:15My old is gone.
25:18It's, uh...
25:19I don't understand.
25:21It's missing in action.
25:22It's been ripped off, stolen.
25:25Dude, how?
25:26Remember that guy
25:27that took your truck, too,
25:27to have him take a look at it?
25:28Oh, yeah, yeah.
25:29The guy that was going
25:29to paint my truck.
25:31Right.
25:31Yeah.
25:31I've been after him
25:33for quite a while
25:33to paint my car,
25:34and he's always really busy.
25:35Right.
25:36He didn't want to do it
25:37at his house.
25:38Yeah, but how did somebody
25:39get it?
25:39I mean, didn't he lock it up
25:41or something?
25:42He took it to the shop,
25:43and he worked on it Monday,
25:45worked on it Tuesday,
25:45didn't work on it last night,
25:47and he got a call
25:48from his buddy this morning
25:49that said his shop
25:49got broken into,
25:50and they stole my car,
25:51they stole a truck.
25:54I'm sorry, man.
25:55Really.
25:56That's your fault.
25:56You dig it?
25:57I'll forgive you.
25:59I wish I could.
26:00I'd give it back to you, man.
26:01Chris, I hate to do this
26:05to you, dude.
26:06But you got to go?
26:06Yeah, I got to go.
26:07I got people waiting.
26:09Keep your fingers crossed.
26:10I'll do that.
26:11I'll keep both hands,
26:12all of them.
26:13Right on.
26:14That's all I can have.
26:15All right.
26:16Yeah, I'll talk to you
26:17again later, dude.
26:19All right, Brady.
26:19Thanks, man.
26:20You got it.
26:21Later.
26:21Bye.
26:22Oh, man.
26:25He's wrecked.
26:27So, Brian,
26:28how do you think
26:29he's going to take it?
26:29Sounds like he's bought
26:30it all in.
26:31Oh, he's buying it.
26:32Hook, line, and sinker.
26:34Definitely.
26:34Someone looks like
26:35he's really tied up
26:36with that car.
26:36Oh, yeah.
26:37Well, yeah,
26:38he pretty much said it.
26:39He doesn't know
26:39anyone else
26:40that's had a car
26:41for that long
26:42and pretty much
26:43basically said
26:44he's sick.
26:45He's sick, sick.
26:47As a matter of fact,
26:48he said he's not
26:49going to sleep
26:49until he gets
26:50his car back.
26:52So as day five
26:53of our impossible
26:54schedule comes
26:55to a late
26:55and rolling close,
26:57we'd like to think
26:58that we might be
26:58ahead of the game
26:59for once.
27:00But there can be
27:01a bit of trouble
27:01that comes with
27:02finding a little
27:02too much confidence.
27:04Yeah, that's for sure.
27:06It can sneak up
27:06and bite you
27:07right when you
27:08least expect it.
27:09Say, at a time
27:10when you forget
27:10that a car really
27:11should have a working
27:12engine before anyone
27:13is allowed to truly
27:14call it a car.
27:19Coming up?
27:22Uh, now about
27:23that working engine
27:24we just mentioned.
27:38Alright, well Scott
27:39from Hotchkiss
27:40Suspension is here
27:41and he brought us
27:41all kinds of stuff.
27:43Tell us what we
27:43have going on.
27:44Pretty much what
27:45we have here is
27:46everything to rebuild
27:47the chassis.
27:47We have sway bars,
27:49upper control arms
27:50that work with
27:51the bare brakes.
27:52We have a 3-inch
27:53lowering coil
27:54supplied by OPG.
27:56Trailing arms
27:57to tighten up
27:58the rear end.
27:59Everybody loves
27:59a tight rear end.
28:00That's right.
28:01We've got that.
28:02We've got shocks.
28:04Also hardware,
28:05everything else.
28:07Tie rod ends.
28:08As you can kind of
28:09see the difference
28:10between stock
28:11and the upgraded
28:13parts that we have
28:13here.
28:14Big difference.
28:15He's going to be
28:15set up completely.
28:17Alright, so you're
28:17happy with this
28:18package.
28:18Oh yeah, definitely.
28:20This almost handled
28:21like a new Camaro.
28:23Unbelievable.
28:24Yeah?
28:24Yeah.
28:24Perfect for the
28:25442.
28:26Oh yeah, definitely.
28:27What are you
28:27thinking of the car?
28:28Oh, it's in pieces
28:30right now.
28:31It's an exploded
28:32view, but it'll
28:33be phenomenal.
28:34Oh yeah, it'll
28:34come together great.
28:35Alright.
28:45I'm going to be able
28:46pop man.
28:47I'm coming out.
28:51Whether you like it
28:51or not, buddy.
28:53You've got to rewire
28:54this thing as well.
28:58Coming out.
28:59Boy, that was an easy
29:00job.
29:01How many hours?
29:02One slide down.
29:04You don't want to tell
29:05the whole world now.
29:08Where's he?
29:08Where's he going?
29:09You're a copie, man.
29:11It only took five hours.
29:12I'm sitting here with
29:15Craig Chaffers, who is
29:17acting as our kind of
29:18project manager on
29:19the 442.
29:21Craig, how you doing?
29:22Doing good.
29:22Excellent.
29:23Now, you have a shop
29:23called CMC Design.
29:25Correct.
29:25Tell us a little bit
29:26about what you do.
29:27We do just sheet metal
29:28fabrication.
29:31Just doing the minor
29:33body mods that can make
29:34the car.
29:35A lot of guys can do
29:36their own stuff in their
29:37garage where they want it
29:38to be hands-on, but
29:39there's certain stuff they
29:40can do, maybe weld or
29:41fabricate or a couple
29:42little design areas that
29:43they can help with.
29:44So we like to help them
29:46kind of with their car.
29:48Because a lot of people
29:49want that feeling of
29:50they did it themselves.
29:51So we can take it, make
29:53some seat belt brackets
29:54or make some center
29:55console or do things
29:56like that, then they can
29:57take it back, finish it
29:58off.
29:59We'll custom touch it.
30:00But if we have another
30:01one, we should check the
30:02fit on it.
30:03I want to get this whole
30:03front end back together
30:04again before it goes
30:05over to the paint shop.
30:07Double check all those
30:08things.
30:08Probably looking pretty
30:09good.
30:09I'm going to keep
30:10these.
30:10Okay.
30:11Oh, we're keeping
30:12those?
30:12Yeah.
30:13Okay, great.
30:15There is never a dull
30:17moment when Matthew
30:18Harris is on the build.
30:20I'll tell you that.
30:21What are you most
30:22passionate about?
30:24Just the overall
30:25building of cars.
30:26I mean, it's just one of
30:27those things that without
30:28it, my life doesn't even
30:30really exist.
30:31If you ask me what my
30:32hobbies are, there's only
30:34one.
30:34If you ask me what I do
30:35for a living, there's only
30:36one thing.
30:37And it all revolves
30:38around the automobile.
30:39Have you ever done a
30:40build in seven days?
30:42No, never.
30:43We've hardcored a bunch
30:44of cars to get them
30:45ready for some shows and
30:46things like that and trips
30:47across country, but never
30:50in seven days.
30:51You think we're going to
30:51do it this week?
30:53Without a doubt.
30:54What's your specialty?
30:55What's your forte?
30:56My forte revolves around
30:58sheet metal fabrication.
31:00That's what really sparks
31:03it for me.
31:04What's your favorite part
31:05of the design, though, of
31:06what's happening with this
31:08442?
31:09I'm liking the smooth thing,
31:10the two-tone, always great,
31:12kind of incorporating the
31:14hearse theme into it.
31:15You know, the blend of the
31:17original and modern, just
31:20that kind of thing, it just
31:21sparks a real interest for me.
31:23Well, the most important
31:24thing is that you are doing
31:25what you're passionate about.
31:27You're following your heart
31:28and, you know, it sounds
31:30cheesy, but it's so true.
31:31That's what life is about.
31:32That is, it is indeed.
31:34And I'm just, I have to say,
31:35I'm so fortunate to be a
31:36part of all of it.
31:37I mean, that's kind of
31:38cheesy to say, but my gosh,
31:40I'm incredibly grateful just
31:41to be able to do what I
31:42really love.
31:44So why does a car nut like
31:46our Mark Chris have such an
31:47insane love for this Olds?
31:49Well, a lot of it goes beyond
31:51getting the car when he was
31:51just 15.
31:53Yeah, you see, a lot of people
31:54claim that Oldsmobile created
31:55the first hot rod when they
31:56stuffed its hot, new, full-size
31:58Rocket V8 into its mid-size
32:00line of cars.
32:01That's when they created
32:02the Oldsmobile 88 and Super
32:0488 line way back in 1949.
32:07But it wasn't until 1964
32:08that Olds returned to that
32:10concept, encouraged by the
32:11success of the Pontiac GTO.
32:13Olds was the first GM division
32:15to follow Pontiac's lead,
32:16offering full-size muscle in
32:18their mid-size Cutlass models.
32:20The power kit included was
32:21called the 442, originally
32:23signifying the engine's
32:24four-barrel carburetor run
32:26through a four-speed
32:27transmission and out a dual
32:28exhaust.
32:29Although specifications would
32:31later change, that great name
32:32442 stuck.
32:34Although it was never the
32:35bestseller of the GMA bodies,
32:37the 442 was known for its
32:38balanced performance,
32:39exceptional handling, and the
32:41Hurst editions that would
32:42come out years later.
32:43Which brings us to the 1968
32:45442 belonging to our Mark
32:47Chris.
32:48You see, 1968 was a big year
32:49for the 442.
32:50It was the first year that the
32:52442 was its own model, still
32:54based on the Oldsmobile A-Body
32:55platform.
33:08On days four and five of
33:10overhauling Chris's 68 Oldsmobile,
33:12the paint started spraying and the
33:14fibs started flying as Chris was
33:15told that his cherished 442 had been
33:18stolen.
33:19Stolen while his neighbor Scott was
33:20supposed to be painting it.
33:22But now it's time to whip this
33:23old into perfection because
33:24there's only a couple days left
33:26before Chris gets his car back.
33:27So let's get full soon.
33:30As Chris's wife and son arrive
33:32for a look at the car,
33:34Jennifer is more than a little
33:35shocked by the progress.
33:37He cloned my husband into a car.
33:41He just wanted an average paint
33:43job and his phone was recrobed.
33:46That's all he ever wanted.
33:47Oh, man.
33:48I don't even think you'll even
33:50have to explain to him what he
33:51did in time.
33:53It's the old.
33:55It's him.
33:57It's together.
34:00A car.
34:02This is one insider who knows the
34:04emotional bond between man and
34:05car.
34:06So as Jennifer and Vinny spent some
34:08quality time at M2, the clock on
34:10the wall tells us that we got to get
34:11over to our mark for a little face-to-face
34:13photo bag.
34:15So it's day six, and we're about to
34:17pull a prank on Chris.
34:18This is Eric Apple.
34:19He's going to be one of our
34:20pranksters here on Overhawn.
34:21You ready to mess with him?
34:22We're ready to throw it down,
34:23see hopefully we can rile him up.
34:24Nice.
34:24Eric's going to be playing an
34:25insurance adjuster who is a friend
34:27of Scott's, our insiders.
34:29He's going to go try to rile Chris
34:31up a little bit, see if you can get
34:32him going.
34:34This is my agent, Eric.
34:36This is Chris.
34:36Chris?
34:37Nice to meet you.
34:37Chris, nice to meet you.
34:38How you doing?
34:39Sorry, it's not under the best
34:40circumstances.
34:42I'm going to give you my card for the
34:43insurance company.
34:44Okay, so no word yet, huh?
34:46No, the news is the sheriff's
34:47found your car.
34:48Where was it?
34:48They found it here in Orange
34:49County with a lot of other stolen
34:50cars.
34:51Straight out of the movies.
34:51It's a full-on chop shop.
34:53Basically, I mean, I have your
34:54description of the car.
34:55We're 99% sure that it's your car.
34:57I want you to take a look at some
34:58pictures and just...
34:59That's it.
35:00That's my license plate right there.
35:04See that?
35:06Well, they took it apart for me
35:07anyway.
35:07Why don't it take so much apart now?
35:10Oh, my God.
35:11Look at this freaking pallet laying
35:12all over.
35:13Oh, man.
35:15Yeah, the axle's missing.
35:17It looks like the axle and the
35:18transmission's gone from the rear end.
35:20You're kidding me.
35:21That's jacked up, man.
35:23I'll probably be in contact with you
35:24or my secretary will call you Monday
35:26morning and let you know the status
35:27and try to give you a better ETA
35:29when you can pick it up.
35:31Okay.
35:31All right, sir.
35:32Literally pick it up, huh?
35:33Literally come down with the tow truck.
35:35How do I even get that thing...
35:37Put the tow it back up?
35:38Put it on a flatbed?
35:38Put it on a freaking dolly or drag it up
35:40on a flatbed?
35:41Yeah, probably a flatbed because it has no wheels.
35:42Yeah.
35:45I might be able to get a dolly.
35:45All right, sir.
35:46Sorry it's under better circumstances.
35:47Okay.
35:48It was nice to meet you.
35:49Hey, thanks for coming out on Saturday.
35:50At least they found them relatively fast.
35:54So reality is setting in
35:56and Chris is upset.
36:00It looks like Chris needs a walk
36:02and let's hope it's a long one
36:04because once he gets his deluxe car back,
36:06this guy will never get out
36:07of his street machine again.
36:10Wow, it got shiny.
36:12Whose car is that?
36:15It's yours, Chris.
36:17Oh, wow.
36:20Going up, first floor,
36:25Richard and Team Magnaflow
36:27are headed to the land down under.
36:29Our Mark Chris is a real car guy,
36:31so he'll know something
36:32that a lot of folks
36:33don't think all that much about.
36:35All this cool plumbing going in.
36:37It's totally crucial.
36:38It's a way tough installation at this level.
36:41And nobody but nobody does it
36:43as well as these guys here.
36:46And on the seventh day,
36:47there was exhaust.
36:48Kids, this is why you should never believe it
36:52when you hear that a bath is good for you.
36:54During the pressure washing,
36:55obviously some of the water got in
36:56through the exhaust valves and whatnot.
36:58We're going to go ahead
36:59and pump out the motor first,
37:01put some fresh fluid in it,
37:02try to evacuate any residue
37:04that's left over in the motor,
37:05and then go from there.
37:06So now it's up to Richard and his guys
37:08to un-irrigate the engine.
37:14Did our initial test fire,
37:16everything looked good,
37:16so we're going to give her some fuel
37:17and fire it up and see what she sounds like.
37:20Awesome.
37:21Well, Chris,
37:21I don't think this is what you had in mind
37:24when you sent the car out
37:25to be painted by the neighbor,
37:27but you're a lucky dog, boy.
37:32Road trip,
37:33and this is my first ride in the Speedbird,
37:35so I'm very psyched.
37:36These two need Chip's custom Speedbird.
37:39It's day seven,
37:40and we still don't have our seats,
37:41so speed it up there, foos.
37:43All right.
37:44Here we are at Stitchcraft.
37:46We're going to talk to Revo,
37:47see how the seats are coming.
37:48Chip designed,
37:49because it's kind of sporty
37:50to match the back seat.
37:51With so much of the early focus
37:52on the rest of the car,
37:53it always seems like
37:55it's those interior guys
37:56who've got to feel the crunch
37:57in the 11th hour.
37:58Revo and his team need to hustle
37:59to get the seats
38:00and that audio console completed.
38:02Beautiful.
38:03Meanwhile, back at Magnaflow,
38:05the old's has yet to start.
38:08Fan's hitting.
38:09Fan's hitting the shroud.
38:10All right.
38:12I need a flat-light screwdriver.
38:16We don't have pressure.
38:21We clean and rebuild Chris's engine,
38:25and this is a thanks we get
38:26from that stubborn old motor.
38:28We'll see what we can do.
38:29We have a little bit of a fuel leak
38:30from the fuel pump.
38:31We'll tap that off
38:32and see what else we can find.
38:33They got to see what they can find,
38:35and fast.
38:36This car is hours from going back.
38:38And while I know it's sometimes tough
38:40for men to break out the manuals,
38:41I'm glad they did.
38:43Meanwhile, Chris and Chip
38:44continue with their shopping spree,
38:46heading over to Original Parts Group.
38:48See this right here?
38:49It's heat air.
38:50Convertible air.
38:51And on today's menu,
38:55one center console,
38:56one steering wheel,
38:57and one Hearst emblem.
38:59All extra rare.
39:07Hey, what are these doing on set?
39:10Cool.
39:11Intro came through.
39:12These are actually a copy
39:14of the original Hearst Olds wheel
39:15from the 60s.
39:17And just in time to see those wheels
39:19and everything else,
39:20a sibling of the Mark.
39:22Now I understand that this could have been your car.
39:24Yeah.
39:28At least you're keeping it in the family, right?
39:33Yeah, exactly.
39:34They're keeping it all in the family.
39:36But the family will probably want the car to start.
39:42Okay, one of the problems is we're splicing into
39:47what was already a spliced-in factory harness.
39:50So what I'm thinking now,
39:52or what we're thinking is perhaps some of these other wires triggering
39:57may also be bad splices or something like that.
40:02Guys, I command you to fix this thing!
40:05It looks like we've found a trace problem of one of the wires.
40:08We're looking for constant power
40:10and also switch power to the coil,
40:12and it looks like one of our sources was bad.
40:15We're trying to trace it through the harness right now.
40:17Matt's got the razor blade out.
40:19We're kind of doing some of the work we did
40:20to try to correct some of the things,
40:21and we're seeing that the wire itself
40:23looks like it goes to a dead end.
40:25Oh, man, we don't want to be hearing about dead ends.
40:30And if you think we got problems,
40:33Jennifer's trying to keep Chris
40:34from going off the deep end back home.
40:36Yeah, he finally got mad the day
40:38after he was shown the pictures of the carcass.
40:41Finally, I just, I realized where he's at.
40:43He's sad, but he hasn't cried.
40:47And he's PO'd, but he's happy he got the car back.
40:51But he's mad at himself for letting it out of his sight.
40:56And he's not mad at Scott,
41:00but Scott told him, dude, we'll make it right.
41:03Part of making it right, this gear from Stitchcraft.
41:07A lot of great names are going into this interior
41:09and this sound system.
41:11Kenwood Audio, powered by Optima,
41:13who's also driving an ATS protection system
41:15to watch over the goods.
41:17Up next, my co-host, a fake mustache
41:20and one really ticked-off mark.
41:32On day six and seven of Oberholland...
41:34But work continued on the car,
41:35and tension kept rising
41:36as our insider Jennifer told us
41:38that her husband was beside himself.
41:41The old mobility he has loved
41:42since he was 15 years old is completely thrashed.
41:45Now that's messed up.
41:46Yeah, but all that messing is about to end
41:47because D-Day is just inches from now.
41:50And when Chris sees his remade ride,
41:52man, oh man, it's going to be a shocker!
41:56Courtney was right.
41:57But the only shocker right now
41:59is the fact that this 442 still won't start.
42:02So the solution?
42:03Jeff heads over to Original Parts Group
42:05for a brand new coil box.
42:08Okay, the new part is in.
42:10But is that going to make it right?
42:12Well, it looks like we're contending
42:19with some point contacts.
42:20The wires itself actually broke apart from it.
42:23You can actually see them laying loose
42:25in the bottom there.
42:26So we need to go down and replace some wires.
42:29All right, there's a real sense of urgency here.
42:30Chris is on his way.
42:32And the guys have been dealing with a wiring issue
42:34since 11 o'clock last night.
42:36They just replaced a module,
42:37fixed some of the wiring,
42:38and we're hoping that it's going to fire
42:40in just a second here.
42:41Are you wondering why I'm looking like this?
42:42I had to get myself in disguise
42:43because we don't want Chris to recognize me
42:45when he comes over to the lobby at M2.
42:47We're about ready to give the car back.
42:48Hopefully they're going to fire
42:49this bad boy up right now.
42:52Okay, try and light it.
43:04So as Chris and I prepare
43:05to meet up with our mark,
43:06the team bugs out like never before.
43:09All right, so check it out.
43:10The thing fired up.
43:11That is very good news
43:12because like Courtney said,
43:13Chris is on his way.
43:14We don't have any time to waste it all.
43:16We are minutes away from a reveal.
43:18Let's do this.
43:18It's going to be badass.
43:23Parts, pieces, fasteners,
43:25and even pinstriping
43:26thanks to our pal Dennis Rickless.
43:28It's a new definition of crunch time
43:31as the car comes together
43:32and the big reveal
43:33is about to become big and real.
43:35Pulling up right now.
43:39He just pulled in
43:39with his pickup truck.
43:41Our insider, Scott,
43:42is waiting outside.
43:43Chris is parking right now.
43:45It's money time, baby.
43:48Well, I can have him call you
43:49when he gets back in.
43:51That's the best I can do.
43:53Okay.
43:53All right, I will.
43:54Okay, thank you.
43:55Hi, fellas.
43:56Hey, how's it going?
43:56Welcome to Clearing Center.
43:57Hey, I'm Scott.
43:58Hi, Scott.
43:59This is Chris.
44:00Jacob told us that his car
44:01was towed in here.
44:02Mobile 68.
44:03You know what?
44:04I just had that file here
44:05in just a second.
44:06Oh, whoa, whoa.
44:09Matchable.
44:1168 old, right?
44:13Correct.
44:13Okay, can you guys hand it one second?
44:14I just have to go to the back real quick.
44:16Yeah.
44:16I think it was a theft recovery.
44:18Okay, one second.
44:19Let's place it back here.
44:26So you haven't seen it, have you?
44:27Nah, just those pictures.
44:29All right, well, what happened was
44:30we released a car to the guys
44:34from the insurance company,
44:36and they put it up on a tow truck,
44:38and they said that they were
44:38bringing it down to the wrecking yard.
44:42Take it to the wrecking yard?
44:43What wrecking yard?
44:44I don't know.
44:45I mean, I just have written in my notes here
44:47that it was picked up by Metro Insurance,
44:49and taken to the wrecking yard,
44:50and that car...
44:51What were they going to do with it?
44:52I don't know.
44:53I mean, well, usually when they take cars
44:54to the wrecking yard, they wreck them.
44:56Yeah.
44:57Call them up.
44:57Because I saw the car,
44:59and I mean, honestly, man,
45:00I don't even know why you would want that car,
45:02because it was just thrashed.
45:04Well, that's a long story right there,
45:05but I mean, I haven't even seen it,
45:08and I seriously didn't authorize anybody
45:09to total it.
45:10I, you know...
45:11Can't we call a tow company?
45:12You got a manager here?
45:13No, I mean, all I did...
45:14You don't even know what tow company was there?
45:16No, they brought their own truck with them,
45:18and they said, we're here to pick up the car.
45:20Metro Insurance brought their own truck?
45:21Yeah.
45:23Okay, well, somebody needs to come out here.
45:24I mean, honestly, when I put the...
45:25You got to get the tow truck guy back here.
45:27I helped them put the car on the flatbed.
45:30I mean, it was a pile of junk.
45:32I mean, I can understand maybe
45:33if you wanted to use it for parts or whatever.
45:34You know what?
45:35It wasn't a pile of junk when it got taken from me.
45:37This guy came out
45:38and showed me pictures of the car in impound.
45:40Right.
45:41And granted, the car was stripped at the time,
45:42but it wasn't a piece of junk.
45:44I mean, that's just my opinion.
45:45I mean, I'm a car guy,
45:47and I just thought it was a total piece of junk,
45:48so I don't even know why you would...
45:49It's kind of a specialty car.
45:50That's your opinion, I guess?
45:51I don't know.
45:52You know what?
45:52I've had this car.
45:53I've had this car for 24 years,
45:55and I don't care if you think it was a piece of junk.
45:56I feel bad because I...
45:57It's still my car.
45:58You know what?
45:59I don't care what it...
46:00I don't care how vandalized it is.
46:02I want to see it.
46:04I want it back.
46:04No, I mean, I mean,
46:05if you love the car this much,
46:07you're not going to want this back,
46:08but why would you want the car back anyway?
46:10It's totally trashed.
46:11I don't really care.
46:13If it's totally trashed,
46:14and it's kind of like,
46:15don't you think it's my decision to say,
46:16okay, this car's trashed.
46:17It's not worth it.
46:18No, I'm just asking you personally
46:19because I wouldn't really know
46:20why you would want a car in that condition back.
46:22Because I've had it for a long time.
46:24I've had it for a long time.
46:25I've had it for 24 years.
46:27My grandparents had it when it was new.
46:29That car's been in my family since it was brand new.
46:32And I'm not about to just let it go
46:33because some insurance guy says it's a piece of crap.
46:35No, he didn't say that.
46:37I said that.
46:38Okay, well, then,
46:38I need to talk to this guy
46:40to find out what he's thinking,
46:42why he's going to total my car.
46:42We need to get the tow company on the phone.
46:45You need to get your car back.
46:46You know what?
46:46Let me get my supervisor,
46:48and maybe she can handle this.
46:49Hold, just hang on one second.
46:55Oh, man.
46:56I can't believe this is happening.
46:57Hey, how can I help you?
46:59Can you get my car back?
47:00I'm Courtney Hanson.
47:01Courtney Hanson.
47:03Why do you look familiar to me?
47:04Ah, no way.
47:05Hey, what's going on?
47:07You tell us?
47:08What do you think's going on?
47:09I have no idea.
47:10You can't be telling me my car's been overhauled.
47:12No way.
47:15Are you guys serious?
47:18You can't be serious.
47:19Are you really serious?
47:21Oh, man, I was hating you.
47:25Are you...
47:25No.
47:27This can't be overhauled.
47:29This can't be overhauled.
47:30No, wake up, man.
47:31The car's gone.
47:32And this guy now,
47:33what do you think now?
47:35Great.
47:37How's it going?
47:38Thanks a lot.
47:39You guys have anything to do
47:40with what you've done to me?
47:41Congratulations, Chris.
47:42Thank you very much.
47:44That money has saved up.
47:45You can use the counseling now.
47:46That's for sure.
47:49Oh, you guys are killing me.
47:51Where's my car?
47:52Is it here?
47:53Yes.
47:53Are you serious?
47:54Yes.
47:54A little bit.
47:56I got to know.
48:00This can't be happening.
48:00Guess what, Chris?
48:03It is happening.
48:05And now it's time to see
48:06your totally overhauled
48:071968 Oldsmobile 442.
48:21After one long and painful week for Chris,
48:23it's clear that all the pain
48:25has somehow vanished.
48:26I don't know what to say, man.
48:29This thing is beautiful.
48:31This thing is beautiful.
48:32I can't believe that's my car.
48:35It's a transformation that's complete,
48:38still maintaining all the ideas
48:39and details that Chris has been
48:41dreaming about for decades.
48:48I want to hug it.
48:50I want to kiss it.
48:51I want to drive it.
48:54This is crazy.
48:59Well, he watches the show.
49:01He recognized Courtney.
49:02And now here comes another familiar face
49:04from the two.
49:08Chip, I can't believe this.
49:10This is beautiful.
49:12It's time to meet the team
49:15that made it happen.
49:19I love it.
49:20Of course, don't forget the woman
49:22who put the whole plan
49:23into gear for us.
49:25The help of my new computer.
49:27Friends, family,
49:29everybody just has to see
49:30Chris freak out over his ride.
49:32And after all those motor problems,
49:34well, the problems are gone.
49:36Another mark, another car,
49:46another party on our hands.
49:48My name is Chris Francho
