00:00Welcome back to another Luan theme mod review. Today we are looking at the Paintings Gallery mod, which adds, I think it's about 200-ish different paintings.
00:11Now, I guess, I should probably mention this right off the bat, these are AI-generated images, so if that's not your thing, yeah, I guess it's not your thing, that's fine.
00:21But yeah, here we go. I didn't place all 200 of them, that would have taken forever. This alone took forever, and this is only a small portion of them.
00:31So, they do come in a variety of different sizes, we have simple 1x1, we have 2x1, 1x2, 2x2, that's as big as I want, but there's also 2x3, and 3x3, and 4x4, and I'm assuming 4x3 as well.
00:48So, let's, yeah, it comes out to 7 pages. Let's take a look at some of the recipes.
00:55So, there's 2 different ways you can get these. Let me find a blank canvas.
01:01So, everything starts with a blank canvas, which a 1x1 canvas is a piece of wool and 4, or 4, sorry, 8 sticks surrounding it.
01:10And then, to make a larger canvas, in any of the variety, how do you make a 4x4? That's interesting.
01:21Because, oh, you know, I wonder if the 4x4 is not made by combining two 2x2s, or four 2x2s, I guess.
01:28So, yeah, 9 of them will give you a 3x3, so let me go ahead and grab one of these 2s.
01:39How do I make the 4x4?
01:41I guess it would be easier just to look at one that's a 4x4, and see what its recipe is.
01:47But, as you can see, all of these different paintings require a blank frame, and then some dye, essentially, to act as your paint.
01:57And this is how you are able to select, hey, it almost looks like Mona Lisa, but it's not the Mona Lisa.
02:03This is how you're able to select which specific painting you want.
02:07So, for example, if I wanted a painting of gooseberries, I would need a 3x3 painting, and then green dye, and magenta dye.
02:14Okay, so let's just go ahead, so I know how to spell goose, and I'm just going to plop that right in front of this.
02:24So, there we go, a lovely painting of gooseberries.
02:28Now, it is visible from both sides.
02:30I don't know if that's a pro or a con.
02:33If you place it on the ground, you know, part of it does get cut off, because this is a 3x3.
02:39So, we have two nodes above ground, one node below ground, because this is the node that's being placed.
02:45As far as placement goes, a 1x1, of course, works exactly as one would expect.
02:50It places where you point it.
02:512x2, sorry, 2x1, it's to the top.
02:55And this is to the left, which is, again, how I would expect the place at least.
03:012x2 to the top right corner.
03:03If you do try placing another node into that node space, it does place to the front of it.
03:11However, I expect that can be exploited.
03:16So, if we dig this one and place a 1x2 here, yeah, they intersect.
03:20So, they are not specifically checking to make sure that the items can or cannot be placed.
03:30The second way to get a painting requires using the paintbrush.
03:37So, if I go ahead...
03:40Where is the paintbrush, actually?
03:42Um, don't tell me I can't.
03:44Oh, here we go.
03:45So, the paintbrush can be...
03:46Wait a second.
03:50So, I can only get the paintbrush if I have the paintbrush?
03:54That doesn't make sense.
03:56How do I use the paintbrush in my own recipe?
03:57Okay, well, I guess you need your own method of getting a paintbrush.
04:03But if, somehow, you get yourself a paintbrush, you can do something like this.
04:09Say, you know, I don't really like this guy laughing in the fire.
04:12That's kind of creepy.
04:13I'll just change it with my paintbrush.
04:15And it'll change your painting.
04:17Um, it does not necessarily respect the size of the original painting.
04:22So, you'll see it just selects any random old painting.
04:24And also, uh, and I don't know why this is the case.
04:29It rotates them.
04:31Seems like a bug to me.
04:32So, like, if I place this old car painting here.
04:37Okay, that was a bad word to place it.
04:40If I place this painting of this car.
04:43Nice car.
04:44It'll rotate it.
04:46No, it's a wolf.
04:47Cool.
04:48If I put a...
04:51I don't know, we'll put the...
04:52The hourglass here.
04:55Sideways.
04:56And I paint that.
04:58That'll maintain the same rotation.
05:01But anytime you paint anything, it ends up running in the...
05:04Which axis is this?
05:06It makes it run...
05:08If I could find it, I'm looking out.
05:10West and east.
05:10East and west.
05:12Is what it'll face.
05:14This is going north-south.
05:16I use the paintbrush to change it.
05:18And it rotates it.
05:19I don't know why.
05:21Again, I feel like that's probably a bug.
05:25So now the question is, does the screwdriver work on this?
05:30It does.
05:31So I can at least somewhat fix it.
05:38It's just annoying that I even have to do that because I shouldn't.
05:43Carrying on, let's actually look at some of the larger paintings.
05:48Because I am curious.
05:49How am I supposed to...
05:50Okay, well, that's weird.
05:59So...
05:59Oh, this is because these aren't being displayed as items.
06:06I see.
06:07Okay.
06:07So let me find one that's a 4x4.
06:09So this cello, or the village...
06:12The village is a 4x3.
06:14So let's go ahead and find out what the recipe is for village.
06:17That's a 4x3 canvas.
06:20So that uses a 4x3 canvas, which is a 3x2 and a 3x2 to make a 4x3.
06:26That makes sense.
06:28Okay.
06:29So then I would assume the 4x4, if I can find one of these, that's a 4x4.
06:37I thought they went up to 4x4.
06:39Here we go.
06:40Read2.
06:41So let's check what read2 is.
06:45That requires a 4x4 canvas, which is made of a 4x2 canvas, which is made of a 2x2 canvas.
06:54So yeah, we're just stacking a bunch of canvases to get them.
06:57I am kind of intrigued to see what the corgi looks like.
07:01So we're going to go ahead and put a corgi painting in here.
07:06Sorry.
07:06Sorry, things.
07:07You need to go.
07:09That looks very much like the Mona Lisa.
07:11Holding a corgi.
07:13Very quirky.
07:14Very quirky.
07:16Alley painting.
07:17That sounds intriguing.
07:18I'm also interested in what these runes are.
07:22So we're going to go ahead and put both of those up.
07:24Okay.
07:25Okay.
07:27And this is like...
07:32I suppose...
07:36I wouldn't really consider that an alley, but...
07:40I guess...
07:42It's not the type of alleys I have by me, but, you know, that's fine.
07:46It's whatever.
07:47So yeah, that's a small taste of the available paintings.
07:55Let's see.
07:56What else is there to say?
07:57These are...
07:59No, I don't play Minecraft, so I don't know.
08:02These are supposed to sort of mimic the style of the paintings available in Minecraft.
08:09I don't know.
08:11But that's what the listing says.
08:15On the content database.
08:18Again, they do all have craft recipes, so they can be crafted.
08:21So it is a survival available.
08:27Survival friendly, however you want to phrase that.
08:30Where you can craft them all.
08:32Instead of just having to grab them out of inventory.
08:35Via creative.
08:35I don't know what else there is to say about it.
08:40I mean...
08:41It adds a bunch of artwork.
08:43It's compatible with a bunch of different games.
08:46Obviously, our recipes...
08:49Whoops.
08:50Our recipes are pretty much just using...
08:52Dyes, and then...
08:55Sticks and wools.
08:56So any game that has sticks, wools, and dyes...
08:59More or less, I guess, will work.
09:04I'm not sure about any of the mine clone versions.
09:08But anything, I guess, that's based off of my test game.
09:12Even very loosely based off my test game.
09:14Should work just fine out the box.
09:17Yeah, I think that's going to wrap this one up.
09:20So thanks for watching.
09:20If you're interested in downloading this, you can find it just by searching for paintings...
