00:00Welcome back to another Luanti mod review. Today we are looking at the Wisps mod. Now Wisps are like these mythical creatures, kind of like fairies, I guess. And you can catch them in jars. You'll find them in the woods. So to make a jar, we're just going to need some glass and wood planks or anything in group wood, honestly. I don't have any Aspen planks on me right now, but we'll use those.
00:25Now it does expect glass. This is just for the recipe. It expects glass to be in group glass, which it's not for some reason. So I had to manually change the recipe to just use default glass instead of group glass. So you may have to do that as well.
00:44Now, like I said, Wisps kind of just show up in the woods. And they come in a few different colors. And they float around and you can catch them in a jar. I don't know if we... Oh, there one is.
01:01I see you boys. You've got a Wisp.
01:03Oh, I caught it. Sweet.
01:07Oh, right. Now it said that Wisps can be hard to catch because they can, like, go through solid objects.
01:16And they fly away, but that poor Green Wisp didn't really seem to have a whole lot of a chance. Maybe I'm just too fast on my feet.
01:26There are three colors. I want to say blue, red, and green. Or was it yellow, blue, and red? I don't remember.
01:33But they do different things.
01:39So I want to catch a couple more. We'll spend just a few moments here.
01:44And if I can't catch one, not to worry because I can cheat and get myself one elseways.
01:55He's running away from me. The tree is in the way.
02:02Stupid tree.
02:04Oh, that's just a firefly.
02:07Is it stuck in the tree? I don't know. I can't get into the tree to catch it, though.

02:37But this is how you would normally catch them.
02:39You know, you just run around in the woods and find them.

02:43Run up on them with a jar and catch them in the jar.
02:47Just like you might do catching fireflies in real life.
02:51Now, because nobody wants to actually be around for night time, we're going to go ahead and make it daytime so we can see.
03:01Now, I think they may actually appear during the day as well.
03:05But it just seemed easier to me to do at night time because they do kind of light up.
03:12There's one stuck in this tree.
03:14It's another green one, though.
03:16So, I don't know.
03:20I got them, though.
03:21Sweet! I got two green wisps.
03:24Didn't need a second green wisp, but, you know, that's fine.
03:26Alright, so what do the wisps do?
03:28Well, you know, I'm not 100% sure.
03:35So, we have poor green wisp caught there.
03:43The green wisp must be the wisp that makes things grow.
03:47So, let's go down.
03:50Alright, at the beach.
03:52Just, you know, tilling some soil here so we can plant some seeds.
03:56I've got a couple seeds.
03:58Just some wheat seeds, so nothing too special.
04:01But, again, I don't know what other seeds I could possibly have other than cotton.

04:10Oh, I got some more.

04:13So, now we're going to put this green wisp down.

04:25Alright, so the green wisp is doing its green wispiness.

04:32I haven't noticed anything changing there, but I have seen...
04:39I have definitely seen that some of this grass has grown.
04:44Because this didn't used to be full-sized grass.
04:48Hasn't done a single thing for my, uh...
04:52For my wheat seeds here, though.
04:54But this is what the green wisp does.
04:56It makes things grow.
04:58So, if I just go ahead and take some of the 34 grass that I have.
05:03And we'll just throw those out here.
05:06Now, normally speaking...
05:09Grass does not grow.
05:10Uh, it just kind of stays grass.

05:17This is definitely making all of the grass grow.
05:20It's not doing anything for my wheat, though.

05:28That leads us into the blue wisp.
05:31Which, I want to say, prevents fires.
05:35Um, now, of course, in order to do that, we're going to continue to start a fire.

05:47What do I need?
05:47I need flint and steel.
05:49So we can start a fire.
05:50And while we're at it,
05:52let's go ahead and grab the red wisp as well.

08:56So this would be great if, you know, you needed to kill a bunch of plants.

09:04So that is worth keeping in mind.

09:14It means you're not getting any value out of it.

09:18I already have a wisp in this jar.
09:22So I don't imagine I can catch it again.
09:25The blue wisp, you know, I was told this story that it would put out fires.
09:29And it's just not doing as hot of a job as it could have been.
09:33But that's the wisps.
09:37Just maybe don't trust your force to the blue wisps care.
09:41Because they just really ain't doing such a hot job of putting out these fires.
09:48And, I mean, I have, like...
09:51You know, that's the basic flame.
09:53I think, actually, they're all technically basic flame and just different draw types, right?

09:59Just really not doing a hot job of fire prevention here.
