This mod let's you control a blackhole by safely stowing it away in a box, waiting for you to unleash it's fury. Once you've grown tired of the blackhole doing blackholey things you can stash it back away into it's box where it can't do anymore harm.
00:00Welcome back to another Luan Team Mod Review. Today we are looking at the Black Hole Containment Box, which adds this kind of scary-looking chest-looking thing, which is how we summon a black hole, essentially.
00:17Now, before we get into anything, you can't craft this, so if I go ahead and search for black hole, you'll see I only pull up black wool, black dye, etc, etc. The black hole box, not craftable, you do have to obtain it with creative or via the give me command.
00:35But once you do have it, you place it in the world as per usual. It's perfectly benign. Is benign the right word? It's perfectly safe. You can punch it, it doesn't do any harm, until you right-click on it.
00:52Then you get this really loud sound, and the fun starts.
00:59So, as you can see here, it kind of acts as a black hole, and it sucks everything into itself.
01:07In a 20x20x20 box, so pretty much a, I was going to say 10-node radius, but it's square, so I don't know if radius really is the right word, because it's not a spherical volume, it's a cuboid volume.
01:23But as you see, it destroys everything, and then it pulls it all into itself.
01:29So here we can see these dropped entities moving towards the black hole containment box.
01:37Now ones that fall underground, or to a level below their own, do try to get pulled into it as well, but the whatever behind it doesn't lift them up.
01:52So you will get some dropped entities kind of stuck if there are lower points in the ground.
01:58Now we can retrieve these from inside of it as such, or if we, oh, wait a minute.
02:05I do need to right-click while not holding anything on it.
02:13Try that again.
02:15It should close.
02:16Oh, punch it.
02:19Punch it to close it.
02:21Right-click it to open it, punch it to close it.
02:23Which I guess kind of makes sense, because you right-click and you're holding something in places.
02:26And then it just kicks everything off to the side.
02:27So now we can select, well, if I wasn't holding an apple, we can pick up all of the items that it gathered for us.
02:34So 79 leaves, 15 trees, 4 tree trunks, 1 apple, and some wheat seeds.
02:40Now we can go ahead and take this.
02:43Because that wasn't a very good example, you know?
02:46Because, oh, as we saw here, it doesn't go below itself, so it won't be floating in the air.
02:52But it's a little more impressive when we go someplace, like a cave.
02:59Oh, this will be perfect.
03:02Yes, let's do it.
03:04Um, you know, that's going to mess up water.
03:10No, actually, let's do it there.
03:12I'm interested, how does this work with water?
03:14So we're going to put it here.
03:15So now this is below the height of the water by two nodes.
03:19So if we go ahead and open this up, again, very loud sound.
03:25Because we do have a wall behind it, we can see quite a bit more carnage taking place.
03:31Uh, we do get these little dropping effects from all of the items as they fall.
03:36And we can see it is just chewing through this wall.
03:41Now, as you may have noticed, that happens in a semi-random, or maybe fully random, I don't know.
03:50But it doesn't just go by layers.
03:52It does randomly select.
03:54And the entities, when they drop on the ground, do sort of go in a spiraling pattern around the black hole containment chest.
04:02Uh, now here for the water, it does look like...
04:06I mean, I guess, I don't really know what I expected it to do.
04:10Uh, because you can't really break water nodes.
04:13Um, so that behaved as expected.
04:17Oh, this didn't, though.
04:18This seems to have broke.
04:20Should have completed closing, and it's not.
04:23Oh, there we go.
04:24Interesting.
04:25Now, I'm going to collect all of these.
04:28Or maybe not.
04:29My inventory could be full.
04:30My inventory is full, which isn't too surprising, seeing as how there was quite a bit of materials that were dropped.
04:39Uh, and the reason I'm trying to collect this...
04:41Although, you know, it really wouldn't matter if it's collected or not.
04:43Let's reopen it up.
04:45And we're going to come out here.
04:46And I am going to...
04:49Keep in mind, I do have creative turned on, so I can just fly around.
04:53Um, it continues to run on newly placed nodes in the area.
04:57So, having one of these...
05:01There we go.
05:03We can now see the...
05:05The sort of swirling pattern that the nodes are taking, because we have a clear shot from the top.
05:11So, you can see how they kind of go in a circular pattern.
05:17Would that be like a vortex, I guess?
05:19As they come on in.
05:21Uh, you know, I wonder.
05:22Can I...
05:23I can just drop the full stack.
05:25Because I'm interested.
05:26What would happen?
05:32Ah, yes.
05:35Now, see, if I wasn't in...
05:37Uh, if I didn't have fly, when I held shift, I could drop stacks by one.
05:41And we could get a big ol' stack of dirt running.
05:44And we could very...
05:45Very good...
05:47Very good, yes.
05:48We could very easily see the swirling pattern of the trapped items.
05:53Now, again, because our ground level isn't actually flat,
05:57we do get a bunch of trapped entities down here on a lower level.
06:00But, you know, I suppose, honestly, we could, uh...
06:04Or could we?
06:06Uh, we would have to do this.
06:07I think I can make this work.
06:09Um, oh, hey.
06:11I figured itself out.
06:13There we go, I was gonna say.
06:15We just have to pop it out of the ground,
06:17so then it comes up into that circular pattern.
06:20And, there again we go.
06:22And then we punch it to close it.
06:24All of our items get dropped to the exterior.
06:27Practical use case for this?
06:29I don't really know.
06:31I don't know what practical value you have.
06:33I mean, sure, you'd clear out an area really quick.
06:35But, uh, I feel like if you were trying to do that,
06:40you would probably just get yourself a world edit or some similar mod to do that.
06:47Now, of course, this does let you, uh, collect the materials from it.
06:51Um, but again, we're going to assume if you were using this to clear an area,
06:56you probably already have the ability to just give yourself items as well.
07:00So, again, I don't really see a lot of value in it as such.
07:07Also, it doesn't look like it combines all the stacks for you necessarily.
07:10So, that's slightly annoying because we're picking up one piece of dirt at a time.
07:14Or one piece of stone at a time.
07:16Which is going to take a hot minute to collect all of this.
07:20Um, yeah, again, there is no craft recipe.
07:23So, if you were to use this, you would probably have to add just some way of obtaining it.
07:28Either, you know, legendary drop from some kind of a mob.
07:32Or, just add a craft recipe to it.
07:35Honestly, it's not that hard.
07:37But, that is the Black Hole Containment Box mod.
07:42Uh, somebody left a comment on one of my previous videos requesting a review on it.
07:48Um, so I suppose I should just throw a plug out from myself doing that, I guess.
07:53If you have a video you would, or a video, if you have a mod you would like me to review,
07:57you can leave a comment on a YouTube video here or whatever platform you're watching this on.
08:02Or, the better way is to use the form of my website or just send an email.
08:06And, I will do what I can to make that video happen.
08:10Um, yeah, that's going to do it.
08:11So, thanks for watching, and I will see you next time.
