If you've ever found yourself needing a storage solution that you can bring along on a trip these baskets could fit the bill. When placed they act like chests and you can put/remove items, but they can be dug and carried around in your inventory with their respective inventory being stored.

00:00Welcome back to another Bluanty Mod Review. Today we are looking at the Baskets Mod.
00:06Baskets Mod adds baskets. Surprise, surprise, right?
00:09So let's look at the craft recipe first. It's pretty simple.
00:13You're going to need yourself a handful of wood and some string.
00:18One piece of string. I think it works with any wood.
00:22I really should have grabbed some other wood than just default wood.
00:25But yeah, there we go. We have a basket.
00:28Now the baskets, you interact with a normal node, so you place it on the ground.
00:33I suppose I could do that with this fresh new basket that I just created.
00:36I'll put it over here.
00:38So it pretty much acts as a chest.
00:41So in this basket, I'm going to throw some stone and I'm going to throw dirt.
00:45And then I'm going to call this Earth Materials, because why not?
00:53Okay, hitting enter does not work, so you do have to click OK. Not a big deal.
00:58I wasn't sure if that was the case, so hitting OK.
01:02And now I've set the name of this basket to Earth Materials.
01:05So here we'll see it's Earth Materials.
01:07It tells us, I don't know if this will come through on video too well, but two of 32 slots are filled.
01:12There's 93 stone and 10 dirt in this basket right now.
01:16Now I can dig up this basket, and it's now in my inventory, and you can see the same information.
01:24It's Earth Materials is its name, two of 32 slots filled with 93 stone and 10 dirt.
01:30And then I have a few other baskets here that I have already placed out.
01:33So this one's just an empty basket.
01:34So with no name at all, it just shows up as Portable Basket.
01:39See here, it's an empty basket.
01:41So if I go ahead and dig this, and then open my inventory, it's just labeled as Portable Basket.
01:47That does make me wonder, though.
01:50Can I stack the empty baskets?
01:53I can.
01:56Empty baskets are stackable, but baskets with material in them, for obvious reasons, are not stackable.
02:02So here I have one that's called Food, just because I named it Food, and I have some blueberries in there.
02:09And so we'll see when I look at inventory what that does.
02:14And we have some flowers in here.
02:16You can shift-click to move things in and out as per usual as far as inventories go.
02:22And then this one, I have some plants.
02:24So I'll throw my grass in there and some wheat seeds in there.
02:27Kishore, why not?
02:28That sounds about right.
02:30Now if I go ahead and look at these in my inventory, I have flowers.
02:33Five of 32 slots filled.
02:3511 orange tulips.
02:36Four yellow dandelions.
02:37Two blue geraniums.
02:38And more.
02:39It won't list out every single item.
02:41As I'm sure you can imagine, having 33 lines listed in the tooltip.
02:48Can we call that the tooltip?
02:49Could get a bit excessive.
02:51So it just truncates it down to four or five, depending on how you want to count.
02:56If you want to count and more as an item.
02:59I'm assuming these are just listed off in the order.
03:05But I don't know.
03:06Is the orange tulip?
03:06Yeah, orange tulip is first.
03:07So if I put the orange tulip like way over here.
03:11No, it still lists orange tulip first.
03:13Is it listed by count?
03:15Ah, I bet it is.
03:16So let's put one orange tulip in.
03:19Ayy, that's exactly how it works.
03:21They are listed by quantity in the basket.
03:23Which I guess kind of makes sense.
03:26Well, actually, before I dig that one, because I know everybody's going to want to know if you can do this.
03:31So here we have, as you can see, a basket that has things in it.
03:39The food, the earth materials, the plant stuffs.
03:42Those I cannot put inside of another basket.
03:44But I can put empty baskets inside, as well as stacking them.
03:48So, if you were thinking, oh, I'll make one basket to store all my baskets.
03:54It only will store empty baskets.
03:56You can't put filled baskets inside of other baskets.
03:59Which, um, kind of makes sense to not completely, uh, not completely overwhelm your inventory and just give you an infinite inventory glitch.
04:12A hack.
04:13I don't think that would really be a glitch.
04:14I am curious to see what happens when one dies.
04:20I would assume the baskets would just go into your bones, as per usual.
04:24Um, but I see some liquids up ahead here.
04:27I'm assuming it's just normal water, but it looks really light.
04:30But that's probably because of the reflection and such.
04:34I should go ahead and set my home here.
04:41Alright, that way, after I perish, I will be near to where I want to be.
04:50Because if I'm not around, how am I supposed to check out my bones?
04:55Alright, so here we are.
04:57We'll just let that happen.
04:58Um, let's go back to, actually it's the first one listed right here.
05:04It is group wood.
05:05So any wooden planks.
05:07Any type of wooden planks will work.
05:08And then some string, which of course is made from two cotton.
05:11Um, or, depending on what other mods you have, there could be other recipes for string as well.
05:18Um, but yeah.
05:21Very, very inexpensive inventory agnostic system.
05:27I know some inventories, I want to say unified inventory has like a bags option.
05:31Um, but that obviously is dependent on unified inventory because that's how you actually interact with it.
05:36Whereas these are just actual nodes.
05:38Which shouldn't matter anything about changing around inventory systems or the like.
05:45And we are about to pass away here.
05:47So this is...
05:49Stealer.
05:50Okay.
05:51Um, this is not where I want to be, but that's why I set a home position.
05:55Wait, was that where I wanted to be?
05:56I guess it was.
05:57It just didn't look familiar.
05:59Alright, well let's head on out to the bones.
06:02Or, lack of bones.
06:03I don't know why this stuff didn't drop into bones.
06:06That's kind of weird.
06:08So it dropped bones, but did not place my items inside of the bones?
06:15What?
06:16I don't know what that's all about.
06:19So I'm going to have to imagine everything is still in our baskets.
06:23Flowers, food, yeah, all of our stuff is still in our baskets.
06:26So, unlike the bags mod from Unified Inventory, which persists after death and you still have
06:35everything in those bags, you do have to go back to retrieve your baskets to get your
06:39items.
06:41Uh, yeah.
06:42You can name them.
06:45And I don't know what else there is to say.
06:49I think that's pretty much it.
06:53So, we'll wrap things up here.
06:58Thanks for watching.
06:59Oh, if you want to download it, it is on the content database, so you can use the in-game
