00:00Welcome back to another Luan T-Mod review. Today we are looking at scientifically accurate TNT.

00:07This is a drop-in replacement for the TNT mod that is included in my test game and many other

00:13games.

00:15So you will find that it pretty much just replaces the TNT mod and it changes a few things up.

00:22So TNT isn't actually made from gunpowder. Sorry to break it to you.

00:28However, there are things that are actually made of gunpowder.

00:31I do like how this is scientifically accurate TNT, but then it makes completely inaccurate gunpowder.

00:38So we do still have gunpowder available by the TNT mod, which is created with coal and gravel.

00:43And it will give you gunpowder.

00:45And then you can make gunpowder barrels out of a variety of different woods.

00:51Yeah, just two gunpowder and then a bunch of wood to make the barrel.

00:54So you do still have that if you need a lower power explosive.

00:59But TNT actually has a kind of complicated process in real life to make.

01:08As does gunpowder, it's a little more complicated than just coal and gravel.

01:13But we won't dwell on that too much.

01:17So to make TNT, we're going to need a handful of different elements.

01:21So let's start by getting some beakers.

01:24So I've already cooked up a bunch of sand to make the beakers because that's what beakers are made from.

01:32I mean, in a roundabout way, that's what beakers are made from.

01:38Eight may or may not be enough.

01:40So let's just go ahead and do like 32 of them.

01:46Yeah, all right.

01:48So then we are going to need some methanol as our first ingredient.

01:53And we can get that by using algae.

01:56And now the algae mod provides...

02:02Oh, they don't become stackable.

02:04That's a shame.

02:05Provides a few different versions, I suppose, of algae.

02:10So we'll go ahead and just spin around and take a quick peek here.

02:14Just find it at the shore.

02:16No, this isn't about algae too much because that's a different mod, but it just adds floating algae on top

02:21of water.

02:22So just go, you know, gather up a little bit of that to make our methanol.

02:28Now this would be made by...

02:31Is it decomposing algae to make the methanol?

02:34I believe...

02:35I'm not a scientist.

02:36I didn't really research this too much.

02:38Um, and then we're going to need some benzene, which is...

02:43I don't know how accurate any of this actually is.

02:47Again, I'm not a scientist.

02:49But we're going to make coal beakers.

02:51Not stackable either.

02:53Okay.

02:53So make that by mixing some coal in a beaker.

02:57And then we're going to go ahead and cook this.

03:02And I...

03:03I don't know why the coal all went to the tops.

03:05I prepped myself here for this by setting up a bunch of furnaces.

03:15Because I knew we'd be needing that benzene.

03:21Nice, nice.

03:23Um, and now we're going to craft the benzene and the methanol together to get...

03:35Tollene?

03:37Oh, and we get a beaker back.

03:41Noice.

03:43Still not stackable, which is fine.

03:47Noicity, noicity.

03:48Alright, so now we have some tollene.

03:50Um, now we've got to go find some sulfur.

03:53And you're going to find that down by caves.

03:56So, I will just, uh, cut to that because it's going to take me a hot second to find some

04:00sulfur.

04:02And here we go.

04:03We got some sulfur.

04:06Now, I don't know if one lump of sulfur is going to be nearly enough.

04:11One sulfur block.

04:12Uh, there is a bunch more sulfur down here.

04:16But it's kind of buried behind everything.

04:19And I don't know if I can really get to it without dying.

04:24So, let me just make a quick little tunnel here that I can hopefully jump into safely.

04:31Sweet, sweet.

04:32So, now if I go ahead and, uh, turn on...

04:36I suppose I could have done that without jumping into a little tunnel, huh?

04:39So, if we noclip around, we'll see there is a bunch of sulfur.

04:43But it's all under the lava.

04:45Um, which would make it kind of hard to get to.

04:50Theoretically, some of this, I guess if I blocked off the source lava, would become slightly more accessible.

04:59Um, I'm not 100% sure if the sulfur is kind of formed from the lava.

05:05Or if it's a, whoops, or if it's a map-gen thing that's placed.

05:10Because a lot of this lava, you know, came from flowing down the hills.

05:16And I'm not really seeing any sulfur anywhere around any of this lava.

05:21So, it could be a map-gen thing.

05:23I'm not entirely sure.

05:28Um, I may try and illegally get some of this.

05:36But I feel like I might die doing this.

05:40Um, and, yeah.

05:43Okay, well, um...

05:49I'm pointing at default stone.

05:52And we're in the lava.

05:53So, we're just gonna leave it at that, I guess.

05:56Alright, so, back at home, we now need a beaker filled with water.

06:02I guess to get sulfuric acid.

06:05Uh, I'm not sure, do I...

06:08Can I just pick water up with the beaker?

06:11No, I can't.

06:12Okay.

06:12No problem.

06:13I took some buckets earlier.

06:16Because I wasn't sure how this worked.

06:20So, now I have some buckets with water.

06:22Do I just craft this with a beaker to get...

06:24I sure do.

06:27Um...

06:27I've sort of run out of inventory slots.

06:30But I think this will do me.

06:34Okay, so I have two beakers of water.

06:37And I craft sulfur with a water beaker to get sulfuric acid.

06:41So, I'm assuming a single of each.

06:43Yep.

06:44Sulfuric acid.

06:46Yay.

06:48Is that like toilet bowl cleaner or something?

06:51Uh, okay.

06:52So, now I need some fertilizer.

06:55Uh, how do we even get fertilizer?

06:58That's from the bone meal mod.

07:00Don't I need bones?

07:02Oh, I need bone meal and mulch.

07:07Eh, fantastic.

07:08Well, give me a minute to collect some of this.

07:13Alright, I have some bones.

07:14Don't ask me how I got the bones.

07:16But I've got bones.

07:17So, we cook these down to get...

07:22Hoo-wee.

07:23We cook these down in order to get bone meal.

07:27Which now I need to mix with my mulch.

07:31To get fertilizer.

07:33Now we take the fertilizer.

07:36Uh, with some water beaker again.

07:41Okay.

07:46Dude, YouTube's gonna think I'm like teaching people how to make a bomb.

07:49So, just to be clear, this is all...

07:52You know, how to do this in Minecraft.

07:55We're not actually making bombs in real life.

07:58We're doing it in a video game.

08:03Okay, so now we have some nitric acid.

08:07Yay us.

08:08So, now we take the nitric acid...

08:13The nitric acid.

08:14The sulfuric acid.

08:16Um, and some toluun together to get a lump of...

08:34I have no more sulfuric acid.

08:38Oh, well.

08:40I have one lump of this stuff.

08:42So, that's great.

08:44So, now I'm gonna need some paper.

08:47Are you kidding me?

08:49Now I need paper?

08:50Okay, well, let's go get some paper.

08:53Well, that didn't take long at all.

08:55I now have paper.

08:57I'm just cheating and using the give command, by the way.

09:01I don't actually know what my...

09:04Oh, that's not.

09:05Okay.

09:06All I know is I crafted this with paper to get a stick of TNT.

09:11I suppose I could just look at the recipe, huh?

09:15Oh, no, you get two sticks of TNT.

09:18Whoa, what a bonus!

09:20The instructions say craft...

09:25Trinitrotooline with paper to get a TNT stick.

09:27But it actually gives you two TNT sticks.

09:29What a bargain!

09:31No, I do need nine TNT sticks to make a...

09:38TNT cube.

09:40So, we're just gonna go ahead and do this.

09:42Yeah, there you can see I was all my cheating.

09:45Give me TNT, TNT, 20.

09:48I think I actually did 209.

09:50Oh, no, I wanted the TNT sticks.

09:52Oopsies!

09:55Yeah, TNT stick, and I wanted 20.

10:00Alright, so now we can...

10:03As a four, how you would make TNT.

10:07We now have more TNT.

10:09Whoopee!

10:11Surprisingly, yeah, there we go.

10:13Alright, so now the big question.

10:34Okay, so now that we can see, let's check out this, uh, the TNT compared to some other things.

10:42Uh, I do think I'm gonna need a torch to ignite this, don't I?

10:46I'm not 100% sure.

10:47I'm imagining so.

10:50Good thing I can make a torch real quick.

10:52I might be out of inventory slots to store this in, though.

10:55Uh, well, you know, I don't really need the buckets.

10:57So, bye-bye, buckets.

10:59Alright, so, one TNT.

11:03I don't think anything changes as far as how explosive it is.

11:10So, there was our one TNT.

11:12Yay.

11:13Okay, let's try some gunpowder.

11:23I'm a little worried putting that so close to the fire.

11:28But no, it seems okay.

11:31There we go, it's burning.

11:34Maybe I put that too close.

11:36Um, it did appear to be a smaller explosion.

11:42Let's, let's try this again.

11:46Uh, yeah, let's just put it right here.

11:49I need my torch back, please.

11:53Alright, so there's our gunpowder.

11:59And, yeah, it made a, a three by three.

12:02By three, I suppose.

12:05Let's take this TNT, put it here.

12:08See what kind of explosion that gives us.

12:11I think it was definitely larger.

12:13Um, also, unfortunately, kind of set the tree on fire.

12:17Wasn't, wasn't part of the plan specifically, but, oops.

12:22Yeah, definitely, the TNT is a little more, a little more powerful than the gunpowder is.

12:31Which, I would hope it would be.

12:34Oh, well, I'm just gonna burn.

12:35Whatever.

12:36I would hope it would be with, uh, how much more work is involved in making the TNT.

12:43Well, there went my whole workshop.

12:47Look at all the drops from my, from my furnaces.

12:53Bones and bone meal and coal.

12:57I do like that the algae burns.

12:59That's kind of funny.

13:02You would think algae would be wet enough that it wouldn't burn.

13:05Anyway.

13:07There we go.

13:08New and improved TNT.

13:09See, I will say this.

13:11This is definitely a good case for some sort of an automation mod to be used to make all

13:17of this stuff because that's kind of a bit of a pain in the butt to collect all of this

13:22just to get some, some old TNT.

13:27But it is far more accurate, which, uh, I guess is what it set out to be.

13:31Um, kind of, you know, makes it that if you're using this on a server, people have to work

13:38a little harder in order to be able to just blow stuff up.

13:41Um, cause yeah, getting gunpowder is really not that difficult.

13:47So, with that funness out of the way, I suppose it would only be fitting to do like a nice,

13:58nice sized explosion of a little, little, little, little, little, little, little, that's really

14:05not much at all.

14:06This is probably a safe place to stand in though.

14:08Okay, maybe it wasn't quite so safe, but safe enough.

14:11All right.

14:12Well, there you have it.

14:15The scientifically accurate TNT replacement to the TNT mod.

14:20Um, it is on the content database.

14:22If you are interested in it, you can just go ahead and search for TNT.

14:25It'll pull right up.

14:25Uh, like I said, this does overwrite the normal TNT.

14:30So, it's not a use this in addition to, it's a use this in place of.

14:35Um, so it will work with any games that have the TNT mod, theoretically.
