00:00Welcome back to another Luanti mod review. Today we are looking at the Oxidizing Copper mod, which, as the name suggests, adds an oxidization process, I suppose, to copper and additionally to bronze as well.
00:15So, I have a little workspace set up here, we could say, I suppose. And I have some copper slabs and some bronze slabs. Oh, hey, sweet. And then I have some full blocks here. So, I have three bronze, three copper, or what were three copper. And then I did the same thing here, three bronze, three copper. And then I did another set of three copper and three bronze. I think I said the last one in reverse order. But no matter, honestly.
00:45And yeah, here they are in close proximity to water. And yeah, we can see they oxidize. This one, being just one node separated from the water, suffers no oxidization side effects, consequences.
01:03What would the chemical term for that be? Because when it oxidizes, it's like undergoing some sort of a chemical something or another, right? Anyway, I'm not a scientist. That's why I do this instead of, you know, working in a lab someplace.
01:21Now, I should just quickly throw out, I did speed up by about 10 times. Or no, I take that back. I changed the chance. I made it about 10 times more likely that these change. So, yeah, the ABM runs every 20 seconds with 125 chance, and I dropped it down to a 12 chance.
01:41So, it's 10 times more likely that these change. So, you can see here I have just grabbed a few of these just for lulzies. And man, that takes a long time to dig. I'll go ahead and throw another one out there.
01:57And also, I already had a few in inventory. So, the oxidized blocks, we can turn into slabs, and stairs, and all of the normal things that you could do. How do you turn slabs back into blocks? It's just a stack like this, isn't it? Yeah, okay.
02:18We get all the normal things that you could do. Is there a way to turn these back? I guess so. Okay, sweet.
02:27I really didn't need those. That was for demonstration purposes only. So, see, we can get that. And what's the stair where it's the other corner?
02:39There's one more corner. How do we make it? I don't remember. Yeah, how do we make this one? Oh, it's an open space in the middle. Okay.
02:48There's really no reason to demonstrate that it works, seeing as how we literally just saw those before. But we can do that, too.
02:54And yes, that does also mean that any stairs or slabs of bronze or copper will also turn into the oxidized variants if they are left in contact or close proximity to water.
03:09Now, the oxidized blocks themselves are the same regardless or irregardless.
03:22Be they from copper or from bronze, they turn into the same oxidized variant.
03:28The oxidized cannot be un-oxidized, non-oxidized, anti-oxidized.
03:33I don't think there's a word for that. You can't remove the oxidization from them.
03:39So, once it's oxidized, it's oxidized.
03:42They don't really suffer any ill effects from being oxidized, other than obviously it's a change of texture.
03:50And they do seem to take a lot longer to dig.
03:53But that could just be me.
03:57Is that any longer? I don't know.
04:00It kind of feels like it is.
04:02Maybe it's not.
04:03There is supposed to be a craft recipe, so you can do this or do this.
04:13Clearly, that is not working at the moment.
04:15There is a bug. I have discovered and I have reported it to the mod author.
04:19So, hopefully that does get fixed in the near future.
04:24But yeah, that's pretty much it.
04:27The oxidizing copper mod.
04:30It just makes your copper get oxidized.
04:31So, if you don't want it to happen...
04:34Well, if you don't want it to happen, you just wouldn't install the mod.
04:38That would be the obvious solution.
04:42If you don't want it, don't use it.
04:44Otherwise, build away from water if you're using bronze or copper.
04:47But at that point, you may just not even install the mod if you don't want to have oxidized copper.
04:51So, yeah.
04:54I guess take that for what you will.
04:58Yeah, it doesn't really add any new uses other than just it's a new block you can build with a different color.
05:05You still get all your stairs and slabs and stuff.
05:07So, it's neat for that.
05:09I guess we'll just quick pull it up here.
05:13Oh, that's the only thing that pulls up in inventory, which is weird.
05:15Why doesn't it pull up, like, the stairs and stuff?
05:20Oh, of course I know why.
05:21Because stairs aren't called that.
05:27So, I bet if I search for oxidized, it'll pull them all up.
05:31Yep.
05:32Because these are technically registered in the stair namespace instead of in the X copper block.
05:37Or X copper, or whatever it was called again.
05:43The, like, technical name of the mod.
05:46But, yeah, that's going to be this mod.
05:48So, you can download it from the in-game content browser,
05:51or I'll have other links on my website, which will be linked in the video description below,
05:54if you would prefer to go that route.
05:56Thanks for watching, and I will see you next time.
05:58Are you looking for custom models to bring your mod to life?
06:02I can create static or animated meshes for your project.
06:05Or, maybe you need some help with code, textures, or voice talent.
06:08As it so happens, I'm in the freelance business.
06:11If it relates to Luanti, I'd be happy to try and help you out.
