Three T&T athletes left their mark at the Barbados Grand Prix at the weekend.

Veretran sprinter Michelle Lee-Ahye used her experience to take the women's 100 while US-born Zalen Nelson pipped Brandon Hinds at the line for the 800 title.

And T&T's Tyra Gittens leapt to gold in the Long Jump event.

00:00The Usain Bowl Sports Complex in Barbados was where the action was as some of the regions established and upcoming athletes competed.
00:08The inaugural Barbados Grand Prix took a team format with athletes representing four teams, the Panthers, Eagles, Outlaws and Lions.
00:17TNT's four-time national champion Tyra Gittins wasn't on any of the teams, but still took first place in the women's long jump.
00:24And she's manifesting even bigger and better things to come this season.
00:29I've been seeing amazing jumps from myself. I rarely surprise myself, but this season I have been seeing more and more of that.
00:37And so even though today it didn't reflect that, I was behind the board for the majority of my jumps.
00:43And so I expect big things this year. I can say that publicly because I've seen it, I believe it and it's happening.
00:52The TNT success didn't end there as Zayla Nelson struck goal in a close finish in the men's 800 final.
00:59Can he take the lead? Yes, he can. This is a brilliant performance. Hudson's still in the mix as well.
01:08But here comes, what a performance. The athlete there, what a performance.
01:16Zayla Nelson will take it from Brandon Hines.
01:21And one of the stars on the night was TNT veteran sprinter Misha Lee Ayi, who captured the women's 100.
01:27TNT veteran sprinter Misha Lee Ayi, who's the leader of the Panthers, is off to a good start, so it was Niles of the Lions, and in the middle it's Lewis as well from the Eagles, this is a close finish.
01:40It looks like Misha Lee Ayi, representing the Panthers, we made the confirmation on the time, but it looks like the Trinidadian takes the women's 100 meter here at the Barbados Grand Prix.
01:56And after using her experience against the younger field, she spoke about her role as a mentor.
02:03It really feels good to be an inspiration for the youth, because some of them need inspiration, and I'm really happy that some of them look out to me, and they see that I'm continuing to do my best out here, even though I'm going down in age, you know.
