T&T have set themselves up, for more medals at the Pan American Track Cycling Championships.

Defending Men's Sprint gold medalist Nicholas Paul showed why he's the favourite, after booking a spot in the final eight.

And Njisane Phillip is in the medal hunt as well, fighting his way into the elite eight.

00:00After repeating his success in the men's karen yesterday, Nicholas Paul's name was constantly mentioned as action got going in
00:07the men's sprint event.
00:08And as the defending champion in that event as well, the 28-year-old lived up to his billing as
00:13favorite.
00:36Paul clocked the fastest qualifying time, stopping the clock in 9.400 seconds.
00:42But he wasn't the only TNT cyclist in the top three, as veteran Jacin Phillips takes his claim.

01:09Cwesi Brown was also among the qualifiers as he stopped the clock in 9.884 to show off TNT's strength
01:16and depth in men's track cycling.
01:18But with the stakes increased in the round of 16, Brown bowed out to Canada's Cole Dempster.
01:33While Jacin Phillips showed he had more legs in the battle of the 34-year-olds against Mexico's Edgar Verdugo.
01:52And it was less of a challenge for Nicholas Paul against Mexican Jafet López Gonzaga.
