00:00So in 1 Corinthians 8, so there's several ideas in the book of Corinthians.
00:07We talked about last week about being married to avoid having fornication.
00:12That was one problem with the church at Corinth.
00:15The other thing was they were eating food sacrificed to idols.
00:21Sacrificed to idols.
00:23Look at 1 Corinthians 8 verse 1.
00:25Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge.
00:34Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.
00:37So knowledge, you can take knowledge and sometimes knowledge turns into pride.
00:42People that know stuff, the most so-called intelligent people, the world would say they are knowledgeable.
00:50But as we know that the Bible says that God says that they're foolish.
00:55So we need to understand that sometimes knowledge can make you puffed up anything that you learn.
01:02So we got to learn to, there's nothing wrong with learning stuff.
01:06In fact, I saw something today where you can go online and learn stuff on classes for free.
01:12I might do that just because I love to learn stuff, especially historical stuff.
01:16So there's nothing wrong with learning stuff, but as you learn stuff, you need to realize that it can cause you to have pride.
01:24That's what puffeth up means.
01:26So when I see this word puffeth up, I always think about cartoon characters that take their thumb and they blow up.
01:33They kind of blow themselves up.
01:34That's what they're talking about.
01:37Keep your finger there and go to James 4.
01:39James chapter 4.
01:53We've looked at this before.
01:55I just want to remind you of it.
01:56James 4 verse 6.
01:57So anybody who's proud, there's nothing wrong with being prideful about what you do, that you're saved.
02:11But when you're proud about and don't want to listen to people, that's what we're talking about.
02:18Submit yourselves therefore to God.
02:20Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
02:22Draw nigh to God and he will draw nigh to you.
02:25So anytime that you get away from God, the first step is you're drawing near to God and he will draw near to you.
02:32It's not the other way around.
02:33People are waiting for God to do something.
02:36Folks, just like salvation and anything else, you have to make the first step.
02:41God does not push himself on you.
02:42He will not force himself on you.
02:45So just like salvation, you've got to ask for salvation.
02:48You've got to believe and then ask for that salvation.
02:50Same thing, when you get to a low point, you have to ask God to help you.
02:55Whether it's being depressed or somebody died in your family or you're sad or whatever's going on or something going on or somebody's sick.
03:04You have to ask first.
03:07Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts.
03:09You double-minded, be afflicted and mourn and weep.
03:13Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your heart to heaviness.
03:16Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and he will lift you up.
03:20That's what it's saying.
03:21Is that when you humble yourself in the sight of the Lord, he will lift you up.
03:26He resists the proud.
03:27Anybody that's proud, that has pride, he resists him.
03:31Go to Proverbs 12.
03:32Of course, the book of Proverbs is just slapped full of different things.
03:40A lot of them is about pride, resisting it.
03:43There's a couple verses.
03:45Proverbs 12, 1.
03:47The Bible says,
03:49Whoso loveth instruction, loveth knowledge.
03:53So anybody who loves to be instructed.
03:55And look, nobody loves to be told they're doing wrong.
03:59But the Bible says that we, not that we should love it and say,
04:02Oh, I just love for my wife to tell me I'm doing wrong.
04:04I just love for my boss to tell me I'm doing wrong.
04:07But what it's saying is not to be bent up.
04:10Be a snowflake.
04:12You know, sometimes you try to instruct somebody.
04:15I did do it for a while there.
04:17Sometimes I don't do it anymore.
04:19But I watch people on the forklift.
04:21And the two things I've noticed about people on the forklift, two things.
04:25One, they never have the mass parallel to what they're picking up.
04:28So either the forks are like this and they push the pallet.
04:31Or the forks are like this and they mess up the pallet.
04:34Another thing is they turn the wheel too much.
04:36You don't have to turn that wheel much to move it.
04:37And for a while there, I would instruct people that you could tell they just didn't know what they're doing.
04:43Because the guy told me there's a difference in a forklift driver and a forklift operator.
04:48Anybody can drive and turn the steering wheel.
04:51And I told the guy, and he had some choice word for me.
04:54But that's what I'm talking about is when somebody's instructing you, you shouldn't get mad at them.
05:00You know, there's people that instruct you that they probably don't know what they're talking about.
05:04And you just, instead of arguing with them, you just listen and let it roll off your back like the water on a duck's back and not worry about it.
05:12So we have to learn to just listen to people and say, ah, that sounds like a good idea.
05:18Or, no, I'm not going to do that.
05:21Loveth knowledge.
05:22So anybody who loveth instruction, they're making a parallel of knowledge.
05:27But he that hateth reproof, which is somebody telling you, hey, you're doing that forklift wrong.
05:34Let me show you how to do it right.
05:35Is brutish.
05:36What does brutish mean?
05:38Well, I think about the show Popeye.
05:43The cartoon.
05:43I don't know about anything else.
05:45They had a guy, what was his name?
05:47His name was Brutus.
05:48But brutish is somebody who just is bullish.
05:52They don't listen to anything.
05:53They're just a bully.
05:54They don't listen to anything somebody tells them.
05:57They don't listen to any instruction.
05:58Turn one page over to Proverbs 13, verse 18.
06:05Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuses instruction.
06:10So we just saw anybody who refused knowledge, the same thing as instruction.
06:15Guess what?
06:15They're going to be poor and they're going to be ashamed of what they're doing.
06:21He that regardeth reproof shall be honored.
06:24So people who welcome to be told.
06:27I'm not, again, I'm not saying that people just, hey, can you tell me I'm doing wrong?
06:31But sometimes we do need to humble ourselves.
06:33And this is where it becomes humility is where you say, hey, is there something I can improve on at work?
06:39Is there something I need to improve on doing this as a husband, as a father, as a pastor, whatever?
06:46Those are the things we need to do.
06:48Go back to 1 Corinthians 8.
06:54Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifies.
06:59What is charity?
06:59Another word for charity would be love.
07:02So it's saying that knowledge sometimes will puff you up, but when you love somebody, that edifies them.
07:09If you love somebody enough to give them the gospel, that's going to edify them.
07:13It means that's going to give them some kind of edification or advantage that's going to help them out.
07:20Anytime you, if you help somebody who needs some food or something and they've got a job and you help them out, that charity is going to edify them.
07:30Anything you do, if somebody doesn't understand the Bible and you show them what the Bible means, that's going to edify them.
07:36That's what he's saying.
07:37If you have enough love for somebody that you don't want them to die and go to hell, then you're going to help them out.
07:42Or if you have enough love for them that you don't want them to be punished by God and say, hey, your brother in Christ, what you're doing is wrong.
07:50Let me show you, that's going to edify them.
07:52That's charity.
07:53That's love.
07:56Verse 2, and if any man thinketh, think that he knoweth anything, he knoweth nothing, yet is he ought to know.
08:04Again, if they think they know too much, look, compared to God, you don't know anything.
08:09But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
08:14So he's saying, if you love God, then God knows you and that you are known of him.
08:21As concerning, therefore, the eating of those idols that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world.
08:33We know that, and that there is none other God but one.
08:38So I think about this all the time.
08:41You know, you see people, they want you to accept their religion.
08:48Oh, Muslims, you know, we've got to accept all religions.
08:51Folks, it's an idol.
08:54They call him Allah.
08:56He's not.
08:57It's not God.
08:57It's just somebody that is an idol, that's the devil.
09:03You know, Catholicism, they worship all those idols.
09:07They worship a statue of Mary.
09:09All these other religions, if it's not the Lord Jesus Christ, if it's not the Trinity, this is how you boil it down.
09:16How do you know it's a false religion?
09:17Is it the Trinity?
09:18Is it God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit?
09:21No, it's an idol.
09:23It's nothing.
09:24It doesn't have to be a physical idol like Buddha of a man wearing a diaper.
09:28It doesn't have to be a physical idol like other religions where they actually have a statue of somebody.
09:35But anything that's not the Trinity is considered an idol, and it's nothing.
09:45For thou there be that are called gods, little g, whether in heaven or in earth, as there be God's many and Lord's many.
09:54All those are lower case.
09:56Because he's saying they may call them God or Lord.
09:59That's why when people say, hey, I believe in God.
10:02Who cares?
10:03Big deal.
10:04Well, if the devil believes in God, then you have really not done anything, in my opinion.
10:09Because what you're calling God may be something else.
10:14May be a statue.
10:15May be the devil.
10:16A lot of people call the devil God.
10:20That's what the guy at Rolling Stone said.
10:23He's going to have to answer to God.
10:24He's talking about because he gave his soul to the devil for rock and roll.
10:29That's who he's talking about.
10:30He is going to have to answer to Jesus, but he's talking about the devil.
10:34But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things.
10:41But we in him and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
10:50Again, the Trinity, by God the Father, and then through Jesus Christ, that's how we pray.
10:58We pray through the name of Jesus to God the Father.
11:02That's the way it goes.
11:03Keep your finger there and go to Daniel chapter 1.
11:09So I think about this all the time.
11:13And look, I'm not the best at it.
11:14A lot of times I don't do it openly.
11:17I just say stuff in my head, which is still fine.
11:20But I'm telling you, this day and time, with the genetically modified animal-based goofball animals,
11:27you've got a prayer of your food that you can digest it.
11:32Because it may be sacrificed unto idols.
11:36Look at Daniel 1 verse 4.
11:38Now people like to twist this and try to say that Daniel was a vegetarian or a vegan.
11:43I don't believe that.
11:45I believe that he just did not want to eat the king's meat.
11:50Look at verse 4.
11:51Children in whom was...
11:53Go to verse 3, I'm sorry.
11:56And the king spake unto Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs,
11:59and he should bring certain of the children of Israel and of the king's seed and of the princes,
12:04children whom was no blemish, but well favored and skillful in all wisdom and cunning and knowledge
12:09and understanding and science and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace
12:17in whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.
12:23And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat
12:27and of the wine which he drank so nourishing them three years
12:33that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.
12:36So what happens is, Daniel says, we're not going to eat your food no more
12:41because, go down to verse 8,
12:45but Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself
12:50with the portion of the king's meat, with the wine which he drank.
12:53Therefore he requested the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
12:57Now God had brought Daniel into the favor and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs
13:01and the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel,
13:04I fear my lord the king whom hath appointed your meat and your drink
13:09for why should we see your faces worse liking than the children which are of the sort?
13:15Then shall you make me endanger my head to the king.
13:19Then said Daniel to Melzar whom the prince of the eunuchs had said
13:24over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,
13:28prove the servants of the Sisi ten days and give us pulse to eat and water to drink.
13:35I don't know what pulse is, but he's saying, look, for ten days we'll eat pulse
13:39and you eat your food and we'll see who's in better shape.
13:43And let our countenances be looked upon
13:47before thee in the countenance of the children
13:49that eat of the portion of the king's meat
13:51and as I see us deal with thy servants.
13:55So he consented to them this matter and proved to them ten days
13:57and at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer
14:00and fatter in the flesh than all the children
14:03which should eat the portion of the king's meat.
14:05So I don't know if he was eating some kind of carbohydrates.
14:09I'm sure his face was fatter.
14:10I don't know.
14:11But I do know that one of two things,
14:14the reason he did not eat the king's meat
14:16is because he didn't want to defile himself.
14:17So it could have either been pork
14:19or it could have either been, I believe,
14:20it was something that was sacrificed unto somebody else.
14:24Go to Romans 14.
14:29We'll see that in Romans 14.
14:36Look at verse 5.
14:38One man esteemeth one day above another,
14:42another esteemeth every day alike.
14:43Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
14:46He that regardeth the day, regardeth it of the Lord.
14:49But he that regardeth not the day,
14:51to the Lord he does not regard it.
14:53He that eateth, eateth to the Lord,
14:55for he giveth thanks.
14:56And he that eateth not to the Lord,
14:59he eateth not and giveth God thanks.
15:01So it sounds like a tongue twister,
15:03but what he's saying is,
15:04this is why when people tell you,
15:06hey, you've got to keep the Sabbath day,
15:09it's a commandment of God.
15:10That's why this don't make sense.
15:12Because that's the Old Testament.
15:14Just like, you know, when people tell me that,
15:16say, well, am I supposed to go sacrifice a goat or sheep?
15:20Because that's the Old Testament.
15:21That's done away in Christ.
15:22And what Paul's trying to tell them,
15:24you couldn't, if the Lord's Day on Sunday
15:27is the day that you regard as the Lord's Day,
15:30so be it.
15:31That's up to you.
15:32But you can't judge somebody and say,
15:35hey, you're not doing,
15:37you're not sitting at the house,
15:38taking a nap or whatever on Sunday,
15:40like you're supposed to and rest,
15:42because that's not what he's saying.
15:44He's saying that it's not necessary.
15:47So when people talk about it,
15:49now look, if that's your conviction
15:50and you want to do that,
15:51and your family is to,
15:53you don't want them to do anything on Sunday,
15:55but I'll tell you this,
15:57according to the Bible,
15:57according to the New Testament,
15:58if you wanted to go to church on Sunday
16:00and you wanted to go deer hunting or fishing
16:02or mow the grass or whatever,
16:05nothing wrong with that.
16:06And don't let anybody tell you that.
16:07They just don't know the Bible.
16:08They want us to be stuck in the Old Testament.
16:10But the other thing is, Sam,
16:12that whatever you eat,
16:14you're eating to the Lord.
16:15And it's not that you're eating it for the Lord.
16:18You're really eating for yourself.
16:20Think of food as fuel.
16:22What he's trying to say is,
16:23back in the Old Testament,
16:24these were things they did.
16:25They did what?
16:26They worried about the Sabbath day.
16:29They made it holy.
16:30The food they ate had to be a certain thing.
16:33It had to be done a certain way.
16:34What he's saying is,
16:36as long as you're eating it to the Lord
16:38to do His work,
16:40and you realize that,
16:41it doesn't matter what you eat.
16:44Because food is fuel.
16:46For none of us liveth to himself,
16:51and no man dieth to himself.
16:54For whether we live,
16:55we live unto the Lord,
16:56and whether we die,
16:57we die unto the Lord.
16:58Whether we live, therefore,
16:59or die,
17:00we are the Lord's.
17:02For to this end,
17:03Christ both died,
17:04and rose,
17:05and revived,
17:07that He might be Lord,
17:08both of the dead,
17:09and living.
17:11So he's saying,
17:11look,
17:12don't worry about what you're eating,
17:14or doing,
17:15and all that stuff.
17:16You're doing it for the Lord.
17:18Go back to 1 Corinthians 7.
17:19I'm sorry,
17:201 Corinthians 8,
17:21verse 7.
17:22How be it,
17:28there is not in every man that knowledge.
17:31For some with conscience of the idol,
17:33unto this hour,
17:34eat it as a thing offered unto an idol.
17:38And the conscience,
17:39being weak,
17:40is defiled.
17:41So he's saying,
17:42look,
17:42not everybody knows
17:43that what they're eating
17:44is being sacrificed into an idol.
17:47He's saying,
17:48and while they're doing it,
17:49their conscience is being defiled,
17:52at that time,
17:55because they don't know.
17:57And he's trying to tell them,
17:59hey,
17:59what you're eating is being offered to idols.
18:03But me commendeth us not to God,
18:07for neither if we eat,
18:08or are the better,
18:10neither if we eat not,
18:12are we the worse.
18:13So the word commendeth,
18:14we understand this word,
18:16but go to Romans 5, 8.
18:17Because this is where people like to change the Bible.
18:26In Romans 5, verse 8,
18:28but God commendeth his love toward us,
18:31and that what we're yet sinners Christ died for us.
18:33The new Bible version says demonstrated.
18:36But what it means is that
18:38Jesus Christ entrusted his life
18:40to God the Father.
18:42When he died,
18:44he said,
18:45I commend my spirit.
18:46He didn't let it say,
18:47I'm demonstrating my spirit,
18:49or whatever.
18:50Some people say,
18:51he says,
18:51commit my spirit.
18:53He doesn't say that.
18:53He says,
18:54I commend my spirit.
18:56In fact,
18:57I wrote down here,
18:58Luke 23,
18:5946,
19:00because that's where he says it.
19:01So it doesn't make any sense
19:03for people to change that
19:03to demonstrate.
19:05To demonstrate,
19:05it's a whole lot different than commend.
19:07Commend means
19:08that you're entrusting something to somebody.
19:14So,
19:15a commendation
19:16is like when people get great praise
19:18for doing something.
19:19But what Jesus was talking about
19:20is he said,
19:22I commended my spirit to God.
19:25Why?
19:25Because right after he died,
19:27his soul,
19:28his body was in the grave,
19:29but his soul was in hell for three days,
19:31and he was commended
19:31and trusting his spirit
19:33to who?
19:34God the Father
19:35and the Holy Spirit
19:36to bring him out of hell.
19:38Well,
19:39that's what it's talking about here.
19:40If you go back to 1 Corinthians 8,
19:42he's saying,
19:43but meat
19:44does not
19:46entrust us
19:48to God.
19:50So whatever you eat,
19:52and meat
19:52just means food,
19:54it doesn't mean actually flesh.
19:55When the Bible says flesh,
19:56it's talking about
19:57what we would call meat
19:58or steak
19:59or whatever.
20:00When it says meat,
20:01it's just talking about anything,
20:03any kind of food
20:04that you put in your body
20:05for sustenance.
20:07And he's saying like,
20:08the food that you eat
20:09does not mean
20:10that we're to God.
20:12It does not
20:12entrust us to God.
20:13God's not saying,
20:14you've got to eat this
20:15or you're not part of me.
20:17That's not what he's saying.
20:18That's not what
20:19Christianity is at all.
20:21He's saying,
20:21if we eat it,
20:22we're not any better.
20:23If we don't eat it,
20:24we're not any worse.
20:25But take heed,
20:26lest by any means
20:27this liberty of yours
20:28become a stumbling block
20:31to them a week.
20:32He's saying,
20:33look,
20:33even though you know this,
20:35make sure you understand this
20:37because they may see you
20:39just willy-nilly
20:40eating whatever
20:40and they think
20:42they can do the same thing.
20:43They don't realize
20:44that some of that food
20:45is sacrifice idols.
20:46That's what the whole chapter
20:47is about.
20:49That you should be warned
20:51about being a stumbling block.
20:54That's what he's saying.
20:55Because you're just
20:56not paying attention
20:57or just doing whatever.
20:59You may have the knowledge,
21:00but people may see you
21:02and not realize
21:05that you understand.
21:06Keep your finger
21:07there and go
21:07Proverbs 16.
21:13This really goes
21:14with anything in life.
21:15You know,
21:16you may know
21:17what the Bible says
21:20about certain things,
21:21but the person beside you
21:22may not.
21:23Your spouse may not.
21:24You know,
21:25hopefully they do.
21:26And you may be doing
21:27what you know is right,
21:29but in their eyes,
21:30they may think
21:31that you're doing wrong
21:32or they may think,
21:35let me back up,
21:36they may think
21:37that
21:38they may justify
21:41what they're doing.
21:42Let me give you an example.
21:43Go to Proverbs 16, 18.
21:46Pride goeth
21:47before destruction
21:48and an haughty spirit
21:50before a fall.
21:51We don't want to ever
21:52compare ourselves
21:53to other people.
21:55And I've made
21:56that mistake before.
21:57You know,
21:58you don't want to ever
21:59look at somebody else
22:00and say,
22:01well,
22:01that person's pretty godly
22:03and they're drinking,
22:04they're doing this,
22:05they're doing whatever.
22:06It must be not that bad
22:07of a deal.
22:09And it is.
22:10So that allows people
22:14to watch you
22:16and justify their sin.
22:18Go ahead
22:18to 1 Corinthians 8.
22:22Verse 10.
22:24So we don't want to ever
22:25be a stumbling block.
22:26What is a stumbling block?
22:27Well,
22:28if you've ever seen
22:29these videos
22:29a long time ago,
22:30you see somebody skating
22:31or something,
22:32somebody throws something
22:32in front of them
22:33and they fall.
22:34That's what it's talking about.
22:36Is anything
22:36that makes somebody
22:37stumble and fall,
22:39whatever it may be.
22:42Verse 10.
22:43For if any man
22:43see thee
22:44which has knowledge
22:46sit at me
22:47to the idol's temple,
22:48shall not the conscience
22:49of him which is weak
22:50be emboldened
22:52to eat those things
22:53which are offered
22:54to idols?
22:55He's saying,
22:56look,
22:56if you go
22:57to the idol's temple
22:58and go and eat
23:00those things,
23:00even if you've
23:01blessed it
23:02in the name of the Lord,
23:04they don't know that.
23:06It's going to
23:06embolden them
23:07which means it's going
23:08to make them
23:09bolder to do that
23:11to commit sin.
23:13That's what he's saying.
23:14And through thy knowledge
23:16shall the weak brother
23:17perish
23:18for whom Christ died.
23:20Again,
23:20this is what
23:21we need to understand.
23:23Look at the next verse.
23:24But when ye sin
23:25so against the brethren
23:27and wound their
23:29weak conscience,
23:31ye sin against Christ.
23:32So what he's saying
23:33is
23:34if you don't
23:36let people know
23:37what you're doing,
23:39people may
23:40make assumptions.
23:41Now they shouldn't
23:42do that.
23:43But he's saying
23:43if you go into this,
23:45apparently they're going
23:46into the temple
23:46of the idol,
23:48wherever this temple is,
23:50and going in there
23:51and sitting down
23:52whether they're eating
23:53meat or not,
23:55and people were,
23:55while they're there,
23:56I don't know.
23:57But apparently
23:58that's what they're doing.
23:59He's saying
23:59the conscience of people
24:01who are weak
24:02in the faith,
24:03they're going to be
24:04emboldened to do
24:05that as well.
24:08And because you're
24:10doing that,
24:10don't think you're
24:11just sinning
24:13against the brother,
24:14but you're sinning
24:15against Christ.
24:16And we need to
24:16understand that.
24:17Anytime that
24:18we're sinning,
24:21it's going to hurt
24:22lots of people.
24:23It could hurt
24:24our family members.
24:25It's not just yourself.
24:26Don't ever think,
24:26well,
24:26it's just hurt me.
24:28No,
24:28it can hurt your
24:28family members.
24:30It can hurt
24:30your friends.
24:32And the one person
24:33you need to realize
24:34is that the more
24:35you sin,
24:35you're just piling on
24:36sins for Christ
24:38to die for.
24:40And that's what
24:41it's talking about.
24:42Verse 13.
24:44Wherefore,
24:45if meat make
24:46my brother to offend,
24:47I will eat
24:48no flesh
24:49while the world
24:51standeth,
24:51lest I make
24:52my brother to offend.
24:53He's saying,
24:54look,
24:54if the flesh
24:56that were here,
24:57wherever they're at
24:58in Corinth,
24:59he said,
25:00if that's going to
25:00make my brother
25:01to offend,
25:03it means that he's
25:03going to make
25:04my brother to stumble.
25:05He says,
25:05I'm not going to
25:06eat any.
25:07I'm just not going
25:08to eat any.
25:08And we wanted to
25:09worry about it.
25:10Go to 1 Timothy 4.
25:121 Timothy 4.
25:16Look,
25:17I've got some
25:17experience with this.
25:20Years ago,
25:21me and a guy
25:24I worked with,
25:25we used to sell
25:26goats.
25:28And when we did,
25:30we had a guy,
25:31a couple guys
25:31came out here.
25:32And look,
25:33I wasn't sure
25:33what they were,
25:35but they wanted
25:37to kill the goat
25:38on the property.
25:40And I said,
25:40well,
25:40why are you doing
25:41that?
25:41He says,
25:42well,
25:42we're going to,
25:43he said,
25:43you believe in God?
25:44I said,
25:44yeah,
25:44I believe in God.
25:46Now look,
25:46my faith wasn't
25:47as strong by then.
25:48I would have told
25:48him real quick like,
25:49but I did have
25:50enough knowledge
25:51to know,
25:51I said,
25:52well,
25:52who is your God?
25:53Because he looked
25:54like a Pakistani.
25:56So my first thinking
25:57is this guy
25:58is probably a Muslim.
25:59He said,
26:00Allah.
26:01I said,
26:01no,
26:01no,
26:01no.
26:02I said,
26:02you want to go
26:03sacrifice your animal?
26:04I said,
26:04you got to get off
26:05my property
26:05and do it.
26:07Which I thought
26:08was weird.
26:08I mean,
26:08you're cutting
26:09the throat
26:10of a goat
26:10and bleeding
26:12it all over the ground
26:13and then you got to
26:14tote in the back
26:15of your car.
26:16I don't know.
26:17It's weird.
26:17But I did not want
26:19him to do that
26:20and I feel good
26:21about it now.
26:22The buddy I was with
26:23he's like,
26:23man,
26:23it ain't no big deal.
26:25But look at what
26:25the Bible says.
26:26It's always better
26:27to be right with the Bible
26:28than with your friends.
26:301 Timothy 4,
26:313,
26:31forbidding to marry
26:32and commanding
26:33to abstain
26:34from meats
26:35which God
26:36hath created
26:37to be received
26:39with thanksgiving
26:39of them
26:41which believe
26:42and know the truth.
26:44For every creature
26:45of God
26:45is good
26:46and nothing
26:47to be refused
26:48if
26:50to be received
26:51with thanksgiving.
26:52So that's why,
26:53look again,
26:54you don't have to make
26:55a big ordeal.
26:56You just say,
26:57Lord,
26:58thank you for this food.
26:59Have it nourished
26:59my body,
27:00whatever.
27:01In your mind,
27:02you don't have to say a word
27:03but I do believe
27:04in this day and time
27:06with the genetically
27:06modified garbage
27:08and the lab-grown meat
27:11and stuff,
27:12you should do that
27:12or you may not
27:14be able to digest.
27:15I don't know.
27:16Maybe God allows us
27:17to help us digest it.
27:18But then later on,
27:20this same instance,
27:22I found out later
27:23that this guy,
27:24he has a store
27:25and he was serving
27:29up his goat meat
27:30and the friend of mine
27:32that I work with,
27:33he says,
27:33hey,
27:34you need to go down
27:34and get some
27:35of that goat meat
27:35and I did not
27:37because I know
27:40what happened.
27:41He was sacrificing
27:42it to Allah,
27:43which is the devil
27:44and I didn't have
27:45any need to it.
27:46I don't know
27:46if it was any good.
27:47The guy ended up
27:48getting shot at the store
27:49and murdered and killed
27:50so he's in hell now.
27:52But,
27:53so there's nothing
27:53I can do about that.
27:54But I will tell you
27:56that that was
27:58an instance I had
28:00and I feel good
28:01about it now.
28:02I felt kind of weird
28:03about it before.
28:05But again,
28:05you don't know the Bible.
28:07Sometimes the Holy Spirit
28:08leaves you anyway
28:09and just tells you,
28:11hey,
28:11this ain't right.
28:13And look,
28:13I didn't know anything
28:14about the Scripture.
28:15I mean,
28:15let me back up.
28:16I didn't know anything
28:17about that in the Scripture.
28:20I knew that it wasn't right.
28:21I knew I shouldn't be
28:21eating anything,
28:23being sacrificed,
28:24you know.
28:25But I thought maybe
28:26it wasn't a big deal.
28:27I'm glad I'd done
28:28what I did.
28:29If I had to do it over again,
28:30I would have definitely
28:31done the same thing.
28:33And we just need to understand
28:34that what we eat,
28:36no matter if it's at
28:37the fast food joint
28:38or whatever,
28:38we just don't know
28:39what it is.
28:40And we should be giving
28:41God thanks anyway
28:42because that's just
28:44what we should do.
28:44Let's fire your head
28:45and have a word of prayer.
