00:00So in 1 Corinthians 3, the Bible says in verse 1,
00:07And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
00:15I have fed you with milk, and not with meat, for hitherto you were not able to bear it, neither yet now are you able.
00:26So a baby can only handle milk, and as a baby gets older, they can handle more food as they have teeth grown.
00:34They can start chewing up softer food, but a piece of meat, it would be foolish to hand a child, a small child, less than one year old, a piece of steak.
00:44Because they're going to choke on it.
00:46And that's what, the Bible is great because God uses things that we understand in daily life to help us understand spiritual things.
00:54And this is one of them, that Paul's telling the Corinthians that, look, you can't handle the strong meat of the word.
01:00You can't handle the strong things because you're still babies in Christ.
01:05You've not reached that level yet.
01:08And that's what he's telling.
01:09If you keep your finger in the Hebrew, and go to Hebrews 5.
01:12Hebrews chapter 5.
01:20We see the same thing worded in a different way in Hebrews 5 verse 11.
01:25Of whom we have many things to say, and are hard to be uttered.
01:29So just like there, he's saying, look, we've got things to say, but you don't get it.
01:33You don't understand it because you're still babes.
01:36Seeing you are dull of hearing.
01:37For when, for the time you ought to be teachers, you have no need that one teach you again.
01:44Which be the first principles of the oracles of God, and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
01:51For everyone that uses milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is obeyed.
01:57But strong meat belongeth to them, that are of full age, even those who, by reason of use,
02:04have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
02:09So the Bible's teaching us that there's people at different levels.
02:13And there's nothing wrong with being a new Christian, and not knowing much about the Bible.
02:19But the sermon that was preached a couple Sundays ago about Daniel's 70th week, that is strong meat of the word.
02:24And there's a lot of people that have been going to church for years.
02:27They would be confused, because they've not reached that level.
02:31And here's the problem with some churches, is they just keep teaching the same thing.
02:36God is love, sin is bad.
02:38And that's fine, but you don't ever learn anything.
02:43And I remember, you know, going out and showing and talking to people,
02:46people would say, I quit going to church because I quit learning.
02:49Now that's not a good excuse.
02:51But, because the Bible talks about constantly reiterating things,
02:57and helping us learn things that we forget.
02:59You know, we all go through life, and get busy in our lives, and we forget stuff.
03:04Just something as simple as not losing your salvation is something that can be easily forgotten,
03:10especially if you get out of church.
03:11I did it one time.
03:12I doubted my salvation.
03:15But I wasn't in church.
03:17I wasn't reading the Bible.
03:18I wasn't doing anything for God.
03:21And these things are easy.
03:22Even John the Baptist had these things happen.
03:24But the Bible is teaching us here that strong meat belongs to them that are of full age.
03:32You know, you've got to have teeth to eat meat, to chew it up.
03:36And that's what he's giving an example.
03:37Even those who, by reason of use, have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
03:43So the first thing the Bible is giving an example is,
03:46you've got to be able to discern good and evil.
03:48You've got to be able to determine what is good, what is bad.
03:51And there's some people out there, folks, I'm just here to tell you,
03:54they don't have much of a conscience.
03:56They don't have much of a moral compass, as they would say, to know what's good.
04:00They may say, well, that's not against the law, so it's okay.
04:03They don't, but the Bible says you've got to know what's good and evil
04:06before you can go to the strong meat and work.
04:08Go back to 1 Corinthians.
04:11So he's laying down the groundwork again because, guess what?
04:14In chapter 5, he's going to hit them with it.
04:16I'm just going to go ahead and warn you that.
04:18So he's laying it down.
04:19He's saying, look, you're not able to handle some of this stuff.
04:22Verse 3,
04:24For ye are yet carnal,
04:26for whereas there is among you envying and strife and divisions,
04:31are ye not carnal and walk as men?
04:35For while one said, I am a Paul,
04:37another, I am Apollos,
04:39are ye not carnal?
04:41Who is Paul?
04:42Who is Apollos?
04:43But ministers by whom ye believed,
04:45but even as the Lord gave to every man.
04:49So again, he's reiterating what he talked about in chapter 1,
04:53that some people say,
04:54Hey, Paul got me saved.
04:55Apollos, that's what he's saying when I'm of them.
04:58He's saying that Paul got them saved,
05:00gave them the gospel.
05:01Apollos got them saved.
05:03And again, he's reiterating and saying,
05:04Look, when you do that,
05:06you're of the flesh,
05:07you're not of the spirit.
05:08And carnal,
05:11just as another word for flesh,
05:13if you go to a Mexican restaurant,
05:15you get carne asada,
05:16that's a steak,
05:18that's basically what that is.
05:19Keep your finger there,
05:20go to Romans 8.
05:21One book backwards in your Bible,
05:25to Romans chapter 8.
05:34Romans chapter 8, verse 1.
05:36There is therefore now no condemnation of them which are in Christ,
05:44who walk not after the flesh,
05:46that's carnal flesh,
05:49but after the spirit.
05:50So, just like we talked about,
05:52I think it was a couple weeks ago,
05:53you don't have to judge yourself when you're walking in the spirit,
05:57but when you're walking in the flesh,
05:58then you do.
06:00Because you're going to be doing what's right.
06:02The Holy Spirit is going to judge you and say,
06:04Hey, what you're doing is wrong.
06:06Verse 2.
06:07For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus
06:10has made me free from the law of sin and death.
06:14For what the law could not do,
06:17in that it was weak through the flesh,
06:19God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin,
06:24condemned sin in the flesh.
06:25So, He's literally telling you,
06:27Hey, if you go out there and try to repent of your sin,
06:29that's weak.
06:30You can't do that.
06:31You're not going to be able to do that.
06:33It's through what Jesus Christ did.
06:36That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us,
06:39who walk not after the flesh,
06:41but after the spirit.
06:43For they that are after the flesh,
06:45do mind the things of the flesh.
06:47So, people that are walking in the flesh,
06:50they're constantly thinking of how they can gratify
06:53their selves and their flesh and not the spirit.
06:57But they that are after the spirit,
06:59the things of the spirit.
07:00For to be carnally minded is death,
07:03but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
07:05Because the carnal mind is enmity,
07:09means it's against,
07:11it's an enemy against God.
07:13For it is not subject to the law of God,
07:16neither indeed can be.
07:18So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
07:22So, people that tell you,
07:24Well, I'm praying to God and they're not saved,
07:27this literally tells you that God's not hearing their prayers.
07:31But not only that,
07:33saved people who are deep in sin
07:35and they resist the Holy Spirit
07:36and resist the Holy Spirit
07:37and they don't listen.
07:39When they pray,
07:41they can't please God either.
07:44They can't please God either.
07:45You've got to be in the spirit.
07:47And that's a daily thing.
07:49You have to put on the new man every day.
07:53And it's a hard thing.
07:54You know, you get up in the morning,
07:55in the morning you say,
07:56Well, I did it today.
07:57Okay, well, you're going to have to do it again tomorrow.
07:59You're going to have to wake up,
08:01get your Bible out,
08:02pray or do something to get in the spirit.
08:06Go back to 1 Corinthians.
08:13So, when the Bible is talking about meat,
08:15it's not talking about what we would call.
08:17We would call meat hamburger, steak, whatever, chicken.
08:21That's meat.
08:22But when it's talking about meat,
08:24it's just talking about food.
08:25So, it could be a roll.
08:27It could be some kind of bread or something.
08:30But when it's talking about flesh,
08:32then that's talking about what we would call meat.
08:34It's kind of confusing.
08:35That's just the way it is.
08:38Verse 6.
08:40I have planted.
08:41So, again, he's saying,
08:42I have planted.
08:43Apollos watered.
08:44But God gave the increase.
08:45So, again, God's using simple things.
08:49If you've ever planted anything,
08:50planted a garden,
08:51planted a food plot,
08:52planted anything,
08:53you know that you have to have a thing of dirt
08:55and you have to plant a seed.
08:57You have to put the seed in the dirt,
08:59cover it up.
09:00But then the next thing you have to do is water it.
09:03And you may have to fertilize it.
09:04Well, God's saying,
09:05look,
09:06there's some people that go out and plant seeds.
09:09But then there's some people you come back
09:11and you're watering those seeds.
09:13So, you may go to somebody's house
09:15that might have heard the gospel
09:16when they were a young kid,
09:18but they didn't receive it.
09:20And you may come back
09:21and they may be having something bad happening.
09:24Maybe somebody died
09:25or maybe something bad's happening in their life
09:27and they're at a low point.
09:28And then you come up there
09:29and talk about salvation.
09:31And then they accept Christ.
09:33And then guess what?
09:34You just watered that seed.
09:36But again,
09:37sometimes you go up there
09:39and you're planting and watering
09:40because they've never heard about Jesus.
09:42They've never even heard
09:43about the death, burial, and resurrection.
09:45You're like,
09:45really?
09:46I mean,
09:46what is the deal?
09:47You're in South Georgia.
09:48But there are people like that.
09:53So,
09:54then neither is he that planteth anything,
09:56neither is he that watereth,
09:57but God giveth the increase.
10:00So,
10:00he said,
10:00look,
10:01don't glory in being the water
10:03or the planter
10:04because Christ is literally
10:06the,
10:07I guess you'd call him the farmer.
10:09Without Christ,
10:10you don't have the seed.
10:11It's just not going to happen.
10:12Now,
10:12he that planteth
10:13and he that watereth
10:14are one.
10:15Every man shall receive
10:17his own reward
10:17according to his
10:19own labor.
10:21For we are laborers together
10:22with God,
10:23ye are God's husbandry,
10:25and ye are God's building.
10:27Keep your finger there
10:28and go to John chapter 4.
10:33John chapter 4.
10:34John chapter 4.
10:44Again,
10:45God's using simple things.
10:46People understand planting crops.
10:49John 4 verse 34.
10:51And Jesus said to them,
10:54My meat,
10:55again,
10:56that's my food,
10:58my meal,
11:00is to do the will of him
11:01that sent me
11:02and to finish his work.
11:05Say not ye,
11:06therefore months,
11:09and then cometh harvest.
11:11Behold,
11:12I say unto you,
11:12lift up your eyes
11:13and look on the fields
11:14for they are white already
11:15to harvest.
11:17And he that reapeth
11:19receiveth wages.
11:20And gather fruit
11:23and life eternal.
11:24That both he that soweth
11:26and he that reapeth
11:27may rejoice together.
11:29And here's a saying true.
11:31One soweth
11:32and another reapeth.
11:33I sent you to reap
11:34that whereon
11:35ye have sowed no labor.
11:38Other men labored
11:39and ye are entered
11:41into their labor.
11:42So,
11:42again,
11:43he's given an example
11:44of reaping
11:46and sowing.
11:47Sowing is putting seeds
11:48in the ground.
11:48Reaping is,
11:49you know,
11:49pulling the plants out.
11:50And here's the corn's out.
11:52Same thing as watering.
11:55And what he's saying is,
11:56look,
11:56I'm sending you places
11:57where you didn't plant
11:59any seeds.
12:00You did no labor.
12:02And that's what he's telling them.
12:03And that's what sometimes we are.
12:05When we go to a door,
12:06we didn't labor there.
12:08It may be somebody's grandma,
12:09grandpa,
12:10or somebody else
12:11that has labored
12:12and we just happen to reap.
12:13Go back to 1 Corinthians.
12:15And then 1 Corinthians
12:19chapter 3,
12:21verse 9.
12:23For ye are laborers
12:23together with God,
12:25ye are God's husbandry,
12:26ye are God's building.
12:28I already read that.
12:30According to the grace of God,
12:32which is given to me,
12:33unto me,
12:34as a wise master builder,
12:37I have laid the foundation,
12:39and another buildeth thereon.
12:40Let every man take not heed
12:43how he buildeth thereon.
12:45No other foundation
12:46can no man lay
12:47than that is laid,
12:49which is Jesus Christ.
12:51So he's giving you
12:52another example
12:53of a physical thing.
12:56Back then,
12:56if you built this building
12:58from scratch,
12:59you would have to
13:00set the corner.
13:02And when you set the corner,
13:03everything had to be level
13:04and plumb and straight
13:06because if you didn't,
13:08your building's
13:09going to be crooked.
13:11Well, that's what
13:12he's giving an example.
13:13He's talking about
13:13the cornerstone
13:15has to be laid in a way
13:18that it's parallel
13:19and it's plumb
13:21and it's flat
13:22because if it's not,
13:23all the rest of the bricks
13:25are going to be like this.
13:27And he's giving the example
13:28that he's a wise master builder.
13:31What is that?
13:32Well, we could say
13:33he's a big time carpenter
13:35or contractor or whatever.
13:38That he's a master contractor
13:40that because he's using
13:41Jesus Christ as that
13:43and he's building on it.
13:44The Apollos
13:46and these other people
13:48that he got saved,
13:50Silas and all these other people
13:52in the book of Acts,
13:53he's building on
13:55that cornerstone of Christ.
13:57And then when they build on it,
13:58they build on to it as well.
14:00The problem with the things,
14:02all these new Bible versions,
14:04they change corner to capstone.
14:08If you will,
14:09go to Ephesians 2.
14:11Keep your finger there
14:12and go to Ephesians 2.
14:18So look at Ephesians 2, 19.
14:20Now, therefore,
14:24no more strangers and foreigners
14:27but fellow citizens
14:29with the saints
14:30and of the household of God
14:32are built upon the foundation
14:34of the apostles and prophets.
14:37So the foundation
14:38is where it started,
14:41which is Jesus Christ
14:42before Genesis 1.1.
14:44Jesus Christ himself
14:46being the chief cornerstone.
14:49Again, Jesus is that cornerstone,
14:52not the capstone.
14:53That's a different stone.
14:56In whom all the building
14:57fitly framed together
15:00groweth unto an holy temple
15:02in the Lord
15:03in whom ye also are built together
15:05for an inhabitation of God
15:07through the Spirit.
15:08So it's talking about
15:10building a building
15:11starting with a cornerstone.
15:13Go to Luke 20.
15:16Luke 20.
15:19Luke 20, verse 17.
15:36And he beheld them and said,
15:38What is this then
15:40that is written,
15:42the stone which the builders rejected,
15:45the same has become
15:46the head of the corner.
15:48Now where did that come from?
15:50Well, I wrote above there
15:51Psalm 118, verse 22.
15:53That's where that came from.
15:55Because anytime the New Testament,
15:57when it says,
15:57and was said,
15:59where it's written,
16:00that's where it was written.
16:01It was in Psalms 118, verse 22.
16:05And that's what it says.
16:06Whosoever shall fall upon that stone
16:08shall be broken,
16:10but on whomsoever shall fall,
16:12it will grind him to powder.
16:16So if you think about
16:17a millstone,
16:19what is that?
16:19Well, a millstone is a big heavy stone
16:22where they took the corn
16:22or the mill
16:23and it would turn
16:25and it would grind it into powder
16:27so they can make bread.
16:28Well, that's what he's given an example,
16:30that Jesus is that stone
16:32and he will grind them into powder.
16:34Now, when I started looking this up,
16:36what the difference in a capstone
16:38and a cornerstone was,
16:41AI and these other places
16:43and on the internet,
16:44they kept saying that
16:45Jesus is the cornerstone
16:47because he's the beginning
16:48and he's the capstone
16:49because he's the end.
16:51And that is true,
16:52but that's not what they're talking about.
16:54And they try to use a verse
16:55in Zechariah chapter 4.
16:57If you will, go to Zechariah chapter 4.
17:04It's towards the end of the Old Testament.
17:07Malachi is the last chapter
17:08and then it's right before Malachi.
17:12So, Zechariah chapter 4.
17:15Now, you've got to understand,
17:17you know, I've been doing
17:17the chronological error
17:20that I've got through the Old Testament
17:21while I'm riding down the road
17:23and I've listened to it.
17:24And Zechariah is talking about what?
17:26The building of the second temple.
17:28So, when you get that into context
17:30and I've found going through
17:32the chronology of the Bible
17:33has helped because it's not like it's laid out.
17:36It's helped the light.
17:38So, Zechariah chapter 4, verse 4.
17:42The Bible says,
17:43So, I answered and spake to the angel.
17:45So, this is an angel showing Zechariah something.
17:48That taught with me, saying,
17:49What are these, my Lord?
17:51Then the angel that taught with me
17:53answered and said unto me,
17:54Knowest thou not what these be?
17:56And I said, No, my Lord.
17:58And I notice it's a small L
17:59because it's like his boss
18:01because he's an angel.
18:03Then he answered and spake unto me,
18:04saying,
18:05This is the word of the Lord
18:06unto Zerubbabel,
18:07which is the guy who
18:08clearly, in Ezra,
18:11he's the one that is building the temple.
18:13Not by night, might,
18:15nor by power,
18:16but by my spirit,
18:17said the Lord of hosts,
18:19Who art thou, O great mountain?
18:21Before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain
18:24and shalt bring forth the headstone thereof.
18:28With shoutings, crying,
18:30Grace, grace unto it.
18:31More of the word of the Lord
18:32came unto me,
18:33saying,
18:34Then he tells him something else.
18:36So, when we know about a headstone,
18:38what is that?
18:38Well, you can go to the cemetery
18:39and you'll see all kinds of headstones.
18:41Here lies so-and-so,
18:42that whatever,
18:44birth date, death date.
18:45That's what a headstone is.
18:47Well, they change that to capstone.
18:50Not the same thing.
18:52If you will, go to 1 Peter 2.
18:561 Peter 2.
18:57This is the one that they changed completely.
18:59Now, 1 Peter 2 is a great verse
19:02about who Jesus is.
19:061 Peter 2.
19:14Starting in verse 4.
19:16To whom coming,
19:19as unto a living stone,
19:22disallowed indeed of men,
19:23but chosen of God and precious,
19:25ye also as lively stones.
19:27So, the example is that
19:29Jesus Christ is that stone
19:30that nobody wanted to accept.
19:33But then he's saying,
19:34your lively stones
19:35are built upon a spiritual house.
19:37Again,
19:37the example of Jesus Christ being what?
19:39That cornerstone,
19:41and then us being laid on it.
19:46And holy priesthood,
19:47to offer up spiritual sacrifices
19:49acceptable to God
19:51by Jesus Christ.
19:53Wherefore also,
19:54it is contained in the Scripture,
19:55Behold,
19:55I lie in Zion,
19:58a chief cornerstone,
20:00this is where they change it,
20:01they say chief capstone,
20:04elect, precious.
20:06And he that believeth on him
20:07shall not be confounded,
20:10unto you,
20:11therefore,
20:11which believe,
20:13he is precious,
20:14but unto them
20:15which be disobedient,
20:17the stone which the builders disallowed,
20:19means they rejected.
20:21The same is made
20:21the head of the corner
20:23and a stone of stumbling
20:24and a rock of offense
20:25even to them
20:26which stumble at the word,
20:28being disobedient,
20:29whereunto as they were appointed.
20:32So, the Bible is talking about
20:34Jesus Christ
20:34being that cornerstone,
20:36but they rejected that cornerstone.
20:38In fact,
20:38they kept saying,
20:40we will not have this man
20:41to reign over us.
20:42We don't want Jesus.
20:43We won't have him
20:44to reign over us.
20:45So, what they're saying
20:46is that when they rejected Jesus,
20:48he's a stone of stumbling.
20:50If somebody's walking around
20:52and you threw a stone out there,
20:54they would fall down on the ground.
20:55That's what Jesus is
20:56because they're thinking,
20:57oh, one God, one God.
20:58They didn't know
21:00what was going on
21:00in the New Testament
21:01because they didn't study
21:02for themselves.
21:04But then he's also
21:05a stone to make people
21:08into powder.
21:09So, they say capstone.
21:12And again,
21:12I don't have any evidence
21:14for this at all.
21:15This is strictly in my own head.
21:17But the evidence I do have,
21:18if you look at the dollar bill,
21:20all the other bills,
21:21500,
21:22done away with,
21:23100,
21:2320,
21:2450,
21:2510,
21:25all of them have been changed
21:26except the one dollar bill.
21:28Now, I ask you,
21:29and I've asked you this before,
21:30why is there a pyramid
21:31from Egypt
21:32on the dollar bill?
21:33What does the United States
21:34have to do with Egypt?
21:36Nothing.
21:37But,
21:38when you see,
21:39when they build a pyramid,
21:42they got a flat spot
21:43and the last thing
21:43they would put on there
21:44is a capstone.
21:47And when they finished that,
21:48that was to tell them
21:49it's done with.
21:51We're not putting anything on.
21:52The building is done.
21:53What does that have to do
21:54with the United States?
21:56I have no idea.
21:57Why is it on the dollar bill?
21:58I can't answer that.
21:59But what I do believe
22:00is that because they've changed it
22:03in the Bible
22:03to show from cornerstone
22:05to capstone,
22:06there's a reason for that.
22:08Don't just think that
22:08they've just tried
22:09to read,
22:09do whatever.
22:10They're trying to make something.
22:12What I believe
22:13is that that capstone
22:15is what the Antichrist,
22:17at some time,
22:17he's going to say
22:18he is that capstone.
22:19I don't know that for a fact.
22:21But I do believe
22:22that God has limited
22:23the Antichrist
22:24from saying some things.
22:25But if he,
22:26why are these things changed?
22:28I don't know.
22:29But I believe that,
22:30that's what I personally believe.
22:32I could be totally wrong.
22:33But there has to be a reason
22:35why they keep changing.
22:37Go back to 1 Corinthians.
22:39And you just look up
22:42every time it says cornerstone
22:43and there's quite a bit
22:44in the Bible.
22:45Capstone,
22:46never there.
22:47The only thing closest
22:47to capstone
22:48is a headstone.
22:49We're talking about graves.
22:54Again,
22:55I don't know.
22:55I don't want you to say,
22:56oh,
22:56you said this.
22:58Look,
22:58I don't know.
22:59But there has to be a reason
23:01why they took the time
23:02to change God's word
23:03because we know
23:04what's going to happen
23:05in Revelation 22.
23:07If you change God's word
23:08and that changes it.
23:11Go back,
23:12go to verse 12
23:13in 1 Corinthians 3.
23:15Now,
23:16he's talking about the building.
23:18Now he goes and says,
23:18if any man build upon
23:20this foundation
23:21gold,
23:22silver,
23:23precious stones,
23:24wood,
23:24hay,
23:25and stubble,
23:26every man's work
23:27will be made manifest
23:28for the day
23:29shall declare it
23:31because it shall be
23:32revealed by fire
23:33and the fire
23:35shall try
23:35every man's work
23:36of what sort it is.
23:38If any man's work
23:39abide,
23:39which he hath
23:40built thereupon,
23:42he shall receive
23:43a reward.
23:44If any man's work
23:46shall be burned,
23:48he shall suffer
23:49a loss.
23:50But he himself
23:51shall be saved,
23:52yet so as by fire.
23:54So what is the Bible
23:55teaching us here?
23:56It's teaching us,
23:59you know,
23:59I just talked to several
24:00people last week
24:01that was telling me
24:02about,
24:03yes,
24:03I'm going to answer
24:04for my sins
24:05when I get to heaven.
24:06I'm going to have
24:06to stand before God.
24:07Folks,
24:08if you're saved,
24:09that ain't going to happen.
24:10You're answering
24:11for them right now.
24:12Whatever you do,
24:13you go out and commit
24:14whatever sin,
24:15you're going to answer
24:16for them on this earth
24:17because when you get
24:18to heaven,
24:19and I've told you
24:19many times,
24:20I don't know where
24:20this comes from
24:21out of the Bible,
24:22folks.
24:22The great white throne
24:23is for unsaved people.
24:26It's not for saved people.
24:27They will answer
24:28for their sins,
24:29but there's nothing
24:31they can say
24:31because they're going
24:32to be sent right back
24:32to hell.
24:33They're going to be
24:33sent to the second death,
24:34to the outer darkness.
24:37But us saved people,
24:40we will stand before Christ,
24:42not about our sins,
24:44but when we're standing
24:45at the judgment seat
24:46of Christ,
24:47they're going to take
24:48our works,
24:48and He's going to
24:49throw them in the fire,
24:51and then the Bible
24:51tells us if it's gold
24:53or silver or precious stones,
24:55if you threw that
24:55in a fire,
24:56it does not burn.
24:58Now, eventually,
24:58I know if the fire's hot,
25:00it may melt something.
25:01But the example is
25:03if it's made of wood,
25:04hay, and stubble
25:05that God does not see
25:06as any kind of benefit
25:08to Him
25:09or to the kingdom of God,
25:11it's going to burn up.
25:12You know?
25:13Not everything we do
25:14is good or bad.
25:16There's just some things
25:17that have no value,
25:19and they're just going
25:20to burn up.
25:20These have nothing
25:21to do with sins.
25:22That's what people think
25:23is that the wood,
25:23hay, and stubble
25:24are sins.
25:25Folks,
25:26what?
25:26And I just asked this guy,
25:28I said,
25:29what would you tell Jesus
25:30when he got up there?
25:32And he said,
25:32hey, remember when
25:33you drank a beer?
25:34Remember when you done this?
25:35Remember when you committed
25:36fornication?
25:36Remember when you committed
25:37adultery?
25:38What are you going to say?
25:40Uh, yeah?
25:42I mean,
25:42there's nothing to say.
25:43There's no way in the Bible,
25:45I don't know what people
25:46get this.
25:46I've heard people say,
25:47yeah, when you get to heaven,
25:48you're going to have
25:48a big screen
25:49that will show you.
25:50I said, why?
25:52I thought they were
25:52cast behind his back,
25:54far from the east
25:55to the west.
25:56Well, you will answer,
25:57everybody will answer
25:58for their sins.
25:59That's correct.
26:00If you're saved,
26:01you'll answer for them
26:01on earth
26:02before you die.
26:04If you're unsaved,
26:06you'll answer for them
26:07eternity in hell,
26:08burning for them.
26:09So everybody will.
26:11But I'm never going
26:12to stand before Christ
26:13and say,
26:13I did this,
26:15I drank this beer,
26:16I drank whatever,
26:17did this,
26:18did what,
26:18told this lie
26:19because of this,
26:20because there's nothing
26:21to say.
26:22It's just a false doctrine.
26:24But we will answer
26:25for something
26:26and it's not what we did
26:27as far as sin,
26:28it's what we didn't do
26:30as far as helping
26:31the kingdom of God.
26:32This is the example.
26:34Keep your finger there
26:35and go to Romans 4.
26:38This is a good example.
26:39Romans 4
26:40is a good way
26:41to explain
26:42against works-based
26:43salvation
26:44because most people
26:45say, well,
26:45I believe in Jesus
26:47and I believe in the
26:48death, burial,
26:49and resurrection.
26:50But,
26:51I got to keep on
26:52coming to church.
26:52I got to keep on
26:53reading the Bible.
26:54I got to keep repeating
26:55in my sins.
26:55I got to keep,
26:56keep, keep, whatever.
26:57Well, this just destroys that.
26:59Look at Romans 4,
27:01verse 1.
27:02What shall we say then,
27:03Abraham our father,
27:04as pertaining to the flesh,
27:05hath found?
27:07For if Abraham were,
27:08if,
27:09look at that word,
27:10if Abraham
27:11were justified
27:12by works,
27:13which he is not,
27:15but if,
27:15he hath whereof
27:18the glory,
27:18but not before God.
27:20So what it's saying,
27:21if Abraham,
27:23father Abraham,
27:24who was going to
27:25sacrifice his one
27:26and only son,
27:28which was a good,
27:29faithful thing
27:30for him to do,
27:32a son he'd been
27:32waiting 99 years for,
27:35you know,
27:36when he does that,
27:37he showed his
27:38great faith,
27:39but his works.
27:41But guess what?
27:42But not before God.
27:44That's what I want you
27:44in our land.
27:45But not before God.
27:46So men see
27:47people's works.
27:48Oh man,
27:49that guy's a godly man.
27:50He does this,
27:51he does that.
27:52He goes and helps
27:53little old ladies
27:53across the street.
27:54That's what God,
27:55that's what man sees,
27:57but it doesn't save him.
27:58That's where man can glory,
28:00but not before God.
28:03For what said the scripture,
28:04Abraham believed God
28:06and it was counted unto him
28:07for righteousness,
28:08as in Genesis.
28:10Now to him that worketh
28:11is a reward,
28:14not reckoned of grace,
28:15but of debt.
28:16So literally,
28:17it's talking about
28:18when you go out there
28:19and work,
28:20when I go out and work
28:21for my job,
28:22I get a paycheck.
28:23That's the debt.
28:24Not of grace.
28:25I'm not working for free.
28:26That's grace.
28:28And it's saying that
28:28when you go out there
28:29and work,
28:30you're getting something
28:30in reward.
28:32But verse five,
28:33this is the key verse,
28:34but to him that worketh not,
28:37means they don't do
28:38one lick of anything
28:39for the kingdom of God,
28:40they just believe
28:41on the Lord Jesus Christ,
28:44but believeth on him
28:45that justifieth the ungodly,
28:46which is Jesus.
28:47His faith
28:48is counted
28:49for righteousness.
28:50So what,
28:53just like it was talking
28:53about in 1 Corinthians 3,
28:55is you can get to heaven
28:56and all your works
28:58are just burned up
28:59and you've got nothing.
29:00Look at verse 15.
29:01If any man's work
29:02shall be burned,
29:03we're back in 1 Corinthians 3.
29:05Burned up,
29:06he shall suffer loss.
29:07What does that mean?
29:08Does that mean
29:08he's going to lose
29:09his salvation?
29:09No,
29:10that don't make any sense.
29:12But he himself
29:14shall be saved.
29:14Means that he's not
29:15going to have one
29:16piece of nothing
29:17to put in his crown
29:18because he's not
29:19going to have one.
29:20Yet as by fire,
29:22he's saved.
29:23Means that he's saved.
29:25But,
29:26he has nothing to show for it.
29:27That's what the Bible's teaching.
29:29That's the only
29:30type of judgment
29:32I will be at
29:33and you will too
29:34if you're saved
29:35is before Christ.
29:37Not our sins.
29:38I want to make that clear.
29:40Verse 16.
29:41Know ye not
29:41that ye are
29:42the temple of God
29:43and that the Spirit of God
29:44dwelleth in you.
29:46So when people say
29:47that Jesus
29:48are you 100% sure
29:50if you die today
29:50you go to heaven?
29:51Yes.
29:52Well why?
29:52Because Jesus is in my heart.
29:53That's what they're talking about.
29:56Is that the Holy Spirit
29:57resides in there.
29:58Here's a question
29:59I always ask
30:00these Church of God people
30:01that tell you.
30:02Oh yeah,
30:02you can lose your salvation.
30:04And I'll say,
30:05hey,
30:05doesn't the Bible say
30:06that once you believe
30:06on Christ
30:07that Jesus
30:07or the Holy Spirit
30:09is inside of you?
30:10Yeah.
30:11Where does he go?
30:13Can you show me?
30:13Well,
30:14he leaves you.
30:15I say,
30:16can you show me
30:16a scripture on that?
30:17Well,
30:18no,
30:18but we know that.
30:19Folks,
30:20you don't have
30:20a revolving door
30:21or a screen door
30:22on your heart
30:23and he just keeps
30:23coming in and out.
30:24That just don't make
30:24any sense.
30:26It's just a good example
30:27that they don't know
30:29what they're talking about.
30:30They're just repeating
30:31what somebody else said.
30:33Folks,
30:33once you're saved,
30:34that Holy Spirit
30:35is there
30:35until the day
30:37of redemption
30:38means the day
30:38your body,
30:39your soul's redeemed
30:40and then your body's redeemed.
30:42Because when your soul's redeemed,
30:45that goes up to heaven.
30:46And then when Jesus Christ
30:47comes in the clouds,
30:48that's when your body's redeemed
30:49and it meets your soul.
30:51It's pretty clear.
30:52People are just adding
30:53to the word of God.
30:54So your body is that temple.
30:57So the next time
30:58you want to destroy
30:59this temple
30:59with whatever,
31:00just understand
31:01that it's no different
31:02than you putting graffiti
31:03on the church
31:04or whatever.
31:05That body is the temple.
31:06And I can show you
31:07a scripture
31:07where Jesus said
31:08he's going to raise his body,
31:10destroy the temple
31:11in three days.
31:11He's talking about his body.
31:13It's talking about
31:13when you get to the New Testament,
31:15the temple is your body.
31:18Okay?
31:18We don't worship the building.
31:20If this building
31:20was burned down by fire,
31:22we'd find another place
31:23of worship.
31:23It would be a loss,
31:24but it would not be
31:25a complete loss.
31:27If any man defile
31:27the temple of God,
31:29he shall God destroy.
31:32For the temple of God
31:33is holy,
31:34which temple ye are.
31:35So if you go out
31:37and commit fornication
31:38or whatever
31:39and you destroy your body,
31:40it says that God's
31:41going to destroy you.
31:42Not in hell.
31:43It means, again,
31:44talking about punishing you.
31:46Let no man deceive himself.
31:48If any man among you
31:50seemeth to be wise
31:51in this world,
31:52let him become a fool
31:53that he may be wise.
31:57For the wisdom of this world
31:59is foolishness with God.
32:01For it is written,
32:02he taketh the wise
32:03in their own craftiness.
32:04So, again,
32:06three chapters
32:07and he's still talking
32:08about the wisdom
32:09of the world
32:10is dumb to God.
32:11Just to put it
32:12in layman's terms.
32:14Foolishness.
32:15God thinks it's foolish
32:16when people stand up
32:17and say,
32:17oh, I'm so smart,
32:19I'm so smart,
32:20you know,
32:20why do you believe
32:21that God exists?
32:22Do you have evidence?
32:24No, I don't have
32:24any evidence.
32:27And again,
32:28the Lord knoweth
32:29the thoughts of the wise
32:30that are vain.
32:32What does vain mean?
32:33Vain means useless,
32:35pointless.
32:36These thoughts of them
32:37are pointless to God.
32:40Therefore,
32:41let no man glory in men
32:43for all things are yours.
32:45So we should never glory in men
32:47and say,
32:47well, that man's
32:48such a smart man
32:49because I'm here to tell you,
32:51I've not met a person yet
32:53or listened to a person yet
32:54that had some high IQ,
32:57that went to some big college,
32:59that is some kind of
33:00super intelligent person
33:01that the world would say
33:02that would say
33:04that they believe
33:05that God existed.
33:07All I'm going to tell you,
33:07well, there's no evidence.
33:08But then you know
33:09what they'll tell you?
33:10Everything you see
33:11is created by a big ball of goo
33:12that just kind of blew up
33:14and just made a tree
33:15or whatever.
33:16That's even dumber
33:17than creation
33:17in my idea.
33:19And that's what God looks at.
33:20You think that a person
33:21saying that
33:23that just a ball of goo
33:24that just exploded,
33:26what I ask them is,
33:27where'd the ball of goo
33:28come from?
33:28Well, they've just
33:30always been here.
33:31No, no, no, no.
33:32That just don't make any sense.
33:34Had to come from somewhere.
33:37That's the stupidity
33:38of the world.
33:39Verse 22.
33:40Where, where,
33:41whether Paul or Apollos
33:43or Cephas,
33:44talking about
33:45whether you're saved
33:45by Paul,
33:46Apollos,
33:47Peter,
33:48which is Cephas,
33:49or the world of life
33:50or death
33:51or things present
33:52or things to come,
33:53all are yours.
33:54He says,
33:54it doesn't matter
33:55who saved you.
33:56You're still Christ.
33:58And then look at
33:59the next part.
33:59And Christ is God's.
34:01So he's saying,
34:02look,
34:02God the Father,
34:04then you got Jesus Christ,
34:05you belong to Jesus Christ,
34:07which means you belong
34:08to God the Father.
34:09That's what he's trying to hit.
34:10He's trying to lay down
34:11the groundwork
34:12and saying,
34:13quit being divided.
34:15Quit saying that
34:15I'm Apollos,
34:16I'm of Peter,
34:18I'm of,
34:18you know,
34:19Paul.
34:19You're all saved
34:20by the Lord Jesus Christ.
34:22He's the one that died
34:22on the cross.
34:23Quit dividing yourself.
34:24He's trying to combine
34:25them together
34:26because I tell you
34:27in chapter 5
34:27he's going to hit them
34:28with something pretty hard.
34:29Just bow our heads
34:29and have a word of prayer.
