00:00so in light of it being the 4th of july a couple days ago the sermon the title of the sermon is
00:07the greatest freedom the greatest freedom so we think about freedom that how we get it you know
00:15maybe it's by the bill of rights maybe it's by the constitution well i'm going to show you what
00:19the bible says and you can decide for yourself so the first point is the first and and the
00:25greatest freedom that we have goes all the way back to genesis 2 go to genesis 2 genesis 2
00:32first book in the bible
00:34genesis 2 it tells us where the very first and greatest or largest freedom the most freedom
00:46that we had as human beings now we weren't around then but as a human nature humankind this is where
00:53it came from genesis 2 verse 8 is where we'll start and the lord god planted a garden eastward
00:59in eden and there he put the man whom he had formed and out of the ground made the lord god to grow
01:06every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food the tree of life also in the midst of the
01:12garden and the tree of knowledge of good and evil and a river went out of eden to water the garden
01:19and thence and from thence it was parted and became into four heads the name of the first is pizan
01:25which uh which compasses the whole land of havalah where there is gold and the gold of that land is
01:33good there is delium and the onyx stone and the name of the second river is gahan the same as that
01:40that compasses the whole land of ethiopia and the name of the third river is hitikil that is which
01:45goeth toward the east of assyria and the fourth river is euphrates and the lord god took the man
01:52and put him into the garden of eden to dress it and keep it the lord god commanded the man saying of
01:58every tree of the garden they may thou mayest freely eat but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil
02:06thou shalt not eat of it for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die the lord god
02:13said it is not good for the man should be alone i will make him and help me for him so the bible is
02:19telling us that what he had everything he could eat of every single plant every tree every fruit every
02:28whatever every animal he could eat of except this one plant and that's the freedom we have
02:35we have freedom and this is the greatest freedom you ever see that you can do anything you want to
02:41that's what god told him except eat of this one tree why because you'll die now we know that he
02:49didn't die physically we know that once he ate of it and he was tempted by the serpent that he didn't
02:56eat of when he didn't die physically but he died spiritually he died spiritually i go to romans 5
03:04romans 5 kind of explains what it's talking about
03:10so he didn't physically die because you can read the the life of adam and you'll see that he lived i
03:21believe 500 and something years romans 5
03:28romans 5 and verse 12
03:39wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin and so death passed upon all men for
03:54all have sinned so that one man was who adam one man brought sin into the world look at verse 14
04:02i mean 13 for into the law sin was in the world but sin is not imputed when there is no law nevertheless
04:10death reigned from adam to moses even over them that had not sinned in the similitude of adam's
04:16transgression who is the figure of him that was to come but not as a as a fence so also
04:24is the free gift for it through the offense of one many be dead much more the grace of god and the gift
04:32by grace which is by one man jesus christ has abounded unto many and not as it was by one that sin so is
04:41the gift for the judgment but was by one the condemnation but the free gift is by many offenses
04:47into justification so what does all that mean it was clearly saying that by one man adam brought sin
04:54into the world which made it clear that we're all sinners and we've all come short of the glory of god
05:01but then it's saying moses brought the law in and moses made it even clearer what the law was when he
05:08brought the law in to know the the the the laws of the bible tell us that we're a sinner and that we need
05:16a savior and then what one person brought sin out and that's jesus christ for about one man's offense
05:23death reigned by one which is adam much more they which received abundance of grace and of the gift of
05:30righteousness shall reign in life by one jesus christ one man brought sin in adam another one man brought
05:39sin out jesus christ that's what it's saying therefore he taught in the bible says therefore
05:46it's explaining what was uh uh before it therefore as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men
05:53in the condemnation because of adam that one man adam he condemned us all to hell by being sinners
06:01but by that one man jesus christ he took that condemnation away from us even so by the righteousness
06:07of one free gift come upon all men and to justification of life it's by one man's disobedience which is what
06:17adam were made sinners so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous which is jesus
06:23christ he was obedient to god the father by dying on the cross moreover the law entered that the
06:28offense might abound but where sin abounded grace did much more abound so the greatest freedom is
06:39what we see in genesis because adam he did bring sin into the world the second point is that sin kills
06:47us while you're in romans go to romans 6 23 romans 6 23 probably one page over for the wages of sin is
06:59death we know that that the payment of sin because we're sinners our payment is death it's not talking
07:06about a physical death just like it wasn't a physical death with adam it was a spiritual death so the
07:12punishment for our sin is death which is more clearly is hell we all deserve to go to hell
07:18nobody deserves to go to heaven okay it's because we believe on jesus that we get that second chance
07:24don't let anybody tell you that they believe they deserve to go to heaven because nobody does
07:31but the gift of god which is who jesus christ is eternal life through jesus christ so the way we have
07:38eternal life is through jesus christ we deserve hell for our sins but because of jesus christ
07:43we get that second chance that's what the bible is saying go down to romans 7 verse 7
07:52romans 7 verse 7 what shall we say then is the law sin god forbid so it's saying just because the law
07:58is what condemns us to hell because we know that we shouldn't kill that we know we shouldn't steal these
08:05things is that he's saying is the law sin no the law is not sin nay i had not known sin but by the law
08:15so it's because of the law of god that we know that we're sinners that's what the bible is teaching us
08:20here for i had not known lust except the law said thou shall not covet but sin taken occasion by the
08:28commandment wrote in me all manner of concupiscence for without the law sin was dead for i was alive
08:36without the law once but when the commandment came sin revived and i died and the commandment which was
08:43ordained to life i found to be unto death for sin taken occasion by the commandment deceived me
08:50and by it slew me wherefore the law is holy and the commandment holy and just and good was then
08:56that it was good made death unto me god forbid but seeing that it may might appear sin working death
09:05in me by that which is good that sin by the commandment might become exceedingly sinful now
09:11you say well that's a mouthful let me explain it to you real carefully because paul sometimes he's a very
09:18educated person and even peter said that paul's writings are difficult to understand what is he saying
09:24when you were born as a baby you're alive before you reach the age of accountability you're not you
09:31don't understand the right from the wrong you don't know about you can't have the ability to understand
09:37about salvation you're alive spiritually means that a baby or small child if they were to die they would
09:44go straight to heaven the bible makes that clear even king david said that his baby uh that that was
09:50created in in the adultery after seven days after it died that he'd see it again in heaven one day
09:58but and then what is paul saying so he's saying when i when i came into this world i was alive
10:06physically and spiritually he said but then when i knew the law so he knew that it was wrong to steal he
10:13knew that it was wrong to kill he knew that it was wrong to commit adultery he knew it was wrong to commit
10:19fornication or do whatever all these things he knew that and once he knew that then he was dead
10:27spiritually that's what he's saying but then once he got saved and believed on jesus he's spiritually
10:35alive again that's what he's trying to say first he's alive then when he understood the law he became
10:41dead and then once he believed on the lord jesus christ put his trust on him then he's spiritually alive
10:47again that's what he's trying to tell us i know it's hard to understand sometimes but that's what
10:52he's trying to say through all that that sin kills us the idea that we understand that that's wrong
10:58the idea that we know that there's a punishment for that sin is what kills us spiritually
11:07number three is that jesus revives us go to ephesians 2
11:10so just like if uh you know if somebody's heart stops beating you know i think about this sometimes
11:18that that somebody may take a defibrillator or some kind of machine to make their heart start
11:23back that's what jesus does we're spiritually dead the moment that we understand that the the wrong the
11:30good and evil and we understand there's a consequence for it and we can understand salvation we can
11:35understand these things the moment we've reached that age of accountability we are spiritually dead
11:42again it's not by any certain age it's not like okay at the age of six at age of whatever i was saved at
11:48age eight some people could have been saved younger some people could be saved older you know there
11:53there may be somebody who has a mental disability and they may never be able to have an age of accountability
11:59so it's not one set age i don't want you to think that there is but when people start to understand
12:06and i'll give you an example you know the bible talks about that when adam and eve knew they were
12:12naked then what they knew that they were ashamed of their nakedness and i feel like that's a pretty
12:20good gauge of when a child realizes that they're ashamed of their nakedness because you know little
12:26babies they don't have a problem they'll run around stark naked run around with no diaper on they
12:30don't have a problem with it but eventually there's a certain time in a child's life where they will
12:36start to be ashamed of their nakedness and they don't they won't do that they won't go pray to parade
12:41out there in front of a bunch of kids parents sitting there you know uh that they don't know naked
12:48that's what i'm not saying that's dead said but that's usually a good gauge of when a child may reach the
12:54age of accountability uh so we need to understand that but ephesians 2 verse 1
13:03when i say jesus revives us it's like he takes uh his paddles is the fibrillator and he makes us alive
13:12and he and you have he quickened who were dead and trespasses and sins
13:19wherein time passed he walked according to the courts of this world according to the prince of the power of
13:24other air the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience
13:30among whom also we all at our conversation time past and the lust of our flesh fulfilling the desires
13:37of the flesh and of the mind and were by nature the children of wrath but as others but god who is rich
13:44in mercy for his love endure wherewith he loved us excuse me even when we were dead in sins
13:54have quickened us together with christ by grace are you saved so our soul our spirit was dead and jesus
14:03christ made it alive once we believed on the lord jesus christ that's what the bible is saying well how
14:09did the ephesians how did that happen go back to ephesians 1 verse 11
14:13how can you make your spirit quickened you know there's a cowboy movie out called the quick and the
14:19dead and they're talking about the quick drawing but the quick actually means made alive the holy
14:26spirit makes your spirit alive because your spirit is dead once you reach age of accountability so look
14:31at ephesians 1 11 we'll find out how the ephesians the people at the churches at ephesus how this came
14:37about in whom we all have obtained an inheritance being predestinated according to the purpose of him
14:45who have worked with all things after the counsel of his own will that we should be to the praise of
14:51his glory who first trusted in christ now this word predestinated people like to twist it and say yeah
14:59god chose these people to be saved that's not what it's talking about the predestination is just like
15:05your gps in your car you predestinate where you're going to go and your predestination is that god
15:11says if you believe on the lord jesus christ your destination when you die will be heaven that's
15:16predestination has nothing to do with god choosing who's going to go to heaven or hell that's just silly
15:22the only way that you're never chosen to go to heaven you have to choose it yourself as free will
15:29how do they do that they first trusted in christ so sometimes when you talk about
15:33faith or believing on jesus people think it like it's a historical belief on jesus it's you trusting
15:40in christ means that you're trusting your salvation you're trusting that jesus christ what he did on
15:46the cross his death burial resurrection is the only thing that you need to get to heaven that you're not
15:52trusting anything else you're not trusting baptism or being a member of the church or whatever
15:57verse 13 and whom he also trusted so a synonym or another word for believe or faith is trust
16:08and that's easy for us to understand you trust that that when you turn your car on that it's going to
16:13crank up you don't know but you're trusting that it does your trust not a battery works as a small child
16:18you're trusting that your parents are going to take care of you fix your food change your diaper these
16:24things as a baby and a small child you're putting your trust in them completely that's why it's easy
16:31for children to understand sometimes because they understand that they're putting their trust in
16:35somebody else to do to help them do things uh you were sealed with the holy spirit of promise so the
16:43moment that you confess with your mouth the lord jesus and you believe that the death burial and
16:49resurrection is your only way to heaven you have that holy spirit of promise put inside of you
16:55which is the earnest of our inheritance into the redemption of the purchased possession and to
17:00the praise of his glory so when people tell you silly stuff that's not true when they say well you
17:06can lose your salvation well the thing that that doesn't make sense and i always ask them this
17:12well if you can lose your salvation the holy spirit put inside of you the moment you believe
17:16on the lord jesus christ where does he go it's not like your heart has a screen door and he goes in
17:21and out that's just silly folks but that's what they'll tell you oh he leaves oh he leaves and he
17:26comes back what causes him to come back what causes him to leave and always has to do with somebody
17:31getting right with god folks god wants us to get right with him but that's nothing to do with the holy
17:36spirit the holy spirit stays inside of you until the day you die that's what the earnest of our
17:42inheritance means the earnest means that god has put a down payment on you and he said you are mine
17:49and i'm coming back to get you and that's the earnest of our inheritance because you have been purchased
17:59by the blood of christ the moment you believe on him
18:04and just like being earnest when you go buy a house you know later on you may buy a house and
18:09say put down an earnest money to show that you're earnest and truthful about buying this house
18:15well you're saying that you're going to truly do that and you're not going to back out of it well
18:19that's what the same thing god does when he puts that holy spirit inside of you he's got that
18:24earnest inside of you and he says i'm coming back for this guy i'm coming back for this girl because
18:29she has the holy spirit that's what it means so people just tell you this stuff about losing your
18:34salvation it's just all making sense folks because god's not a liar it's called eternal
18:39life for a reason go to colossians 2 colossians 2
18:47anytime you you hear somebody say that and you ask them to explain it to you they just can't explain
18:51it because it's not in the bible it's them telling you that you got to quit this quit that and then the
18:58holy spirit enter back folks it's never in the bible the bible clearly says that we have the down
19:03payment does god take that down payment back no he doesn't it's just silliness
19:11colossians 2
19:14anytime any person that says you can lose your salvation once you believe on the lord jesus christ
19:19is making god a liar and i just tend to believe that god can't lie the fact that says that colossians 2
19:25verse 12
19:29buried with him in baptism so when we get baptized again i preached on this last sunday about there's
19:37no you in salvation when you get baptized it has nothing to do with salvation there's a lot of people
19:43they're going to get baptized and they're just going to go to hell wet there's a lot of people they're
19:48never going to be baptized and they're still going to go to heaven because baptism has nothing to do with
19:51it and the proof of that is there's nobody in the old testament that was ever baptized king david
19:57not baptized moses not baptized abraham not baptized but the picture of baptism is that we're buried
20:05with him when you go underwater it's like you're being buried underwater or buried in the ground in
20:11the tomb like jesus and you come up a new creature that's a death burial and resurrection of christ
20:16wherein also you are risen with him through the faith of the operation of god who has raised him from
20:22the dead and you being dead in your sins in the uncircumcision of your flesh at the quicken together
20:29with him having given you all trespasses black blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was
20:36against us which was contrary to us and took it out of the way nailing it to the cross
20:43so jesus revives us by making us alive quickening us point number four sin destroys liberty sin
20:56destroys liberty go to galatians galatians chapter two what is liberty what do you think about when
21:03liberty is it not you know a lot of people if you ask them what liberty is they're like well all these laws
21:09all these laws drag us down man um and i will agree with that some of the laws united states have
21:16are dragging us down but the law of god is perfect we need to understand that
21:24you know the the government wants to create more laws the laws that we have in the bible are just fine
21:32in fact in the new millennium when we rule and reign with christ that's the laws we're going to go for
21:37you're not going to worry about those laws in the united states
21:43sin destroys liberty what is liberty it's freedom you know we just talked about uh two days ago we're
21:50celebrating our independence day of when we were under the rule of the english government and at that
21:57time we said we're not going to take it anymore we're not going to take you and treating us this way we're
22:02going to be our own country well that's what liberty is is when you break off from something that's keeping
22:09you in bondage and i'm here to tell you the sin is the greatest bondage look at galatians 2 verse 4
22:17and why is that and that because of false brethren unawares so false preachers false prophets not known who
22:24they are brought in who came in privately what is privately privately secretly and to spy out our
22:31liberty which we have in christ jesus so there's people out there they're trying to figure out why
22:37you're free why you're not worried about going to hell why these things are and they're trying to take
22:42that away that they might bring us what into bondage well if you're in bondage guess what you're not free
22:48anymore to whom we gave place by subjection no not for an hour that the truth of the gospel might
22:57continue with you so he's saying look we never considered it for an hour we never considered
23:02that this other gospel uh go over to galatians 1 verse 6 we talked about this last week and bring it up
23:09again why because the whole book of galatians is all about this a different gospel but not a different
23:16gospel look at galatians 1 6 i marvel that you'd soon be removed from him that called you into the
23:23grace of christ unto another gospel which is not another but there'll be some that trouble you
23:31and will pervert the gospel of christ so anybody that preaches another gospel they're not really
23:38preaching another gospel they're just perverting or twisting god's word but though we or an angel
23:45from heaven preach any other gospel unto you that we we have preached unto you let him be a curse
23:53isn't it funny how the mormons and muslims supposedly had an angel come to them and said there's something
24:00different than christianity it's you know the mormons said they had something different they got all these
24:05goofy laws and stuff that christianity is wrong uh there's an angel that supposedly came to muhammad
24:11uh who married a nine-year-old and he he this angel supposedly told him that christ christianity
24:19is wrong that's what we're talking about here no angels gonna come to you and say hey there's
24:23something different but they nobody's angels gonna come to you anyway that just doesn't happen as we said
24:29before so say i now again if any man preach any other gospel unto you that you have received let him be a
24:37cursed what does that mean let him go to hell let him be damned that's what the bible's saying
24:43for do i now persuade men or god or do i seek to please men for if i yet please men i should not
24:50be the servant of christ i've told you i believe it's wednesday or sunny i don't remember anymore
24:55that if there's any other religion other than the religion of jesus christ it is a false or an
25:01antichrist religion that's what he's trying to say but not only that if they say well it's not just
25:06faith is not good enough it's not just good enough to believe on jesus you've got to have
25:11something else we should reject it go to second peter 2 we should reject it and say no i don't
25:19believe you turn on the tv or radio or whatever you hear a preacher and he starts preaching about
25:24something else or maybe your church maybe your church says hey you got to be baptized you got to
25:29join the church you got to do this you got to do that you got to repent of your sins it's not good
25:33enough to believe on christ you better leave him find another church because if he don't have
25:37salvation wrong he's got nothing right we're not adding to salvation jesus did enough we don't have to
25:47do anything else look at second peter 2 verse 17
25:55these are wells without water clouds that are carried with a tempest to whom the midst of
26:03darkness is reserved forever so these are some pretty dark people because of their their sinful ways
26:09maybe a reprobate from when they speak great swelling words of vanity they allure through the
26:15lust of the flesh so the words of vanity of of just praising you and how great you are that's what
26:22vanity is stuff that doesn't matter the lust of the flesh look at all these great things you can have
26:28through much wantonness those that were clean escape from them who live in error while they
26:33promise them liberty so these politicians sometimes say hey you'll be free you'll do this you'll do that
26:41they themselves are the servants of corruption of whom a man is overcome of the same is he brought
26:47into bondage so a lot of times when people are saying that hey it's not a big deal these things
26:54aren't a big deal hey everybody else is doing it they're bringing you into bondage there's no liberty there
27:01number five liberty is only through jesus go back to galatians i should have told you stay in galatians
27:08galatians 5 that's what the whole book about galatians it is when people start talking about
27:16you got to be baptized also to be saved i just want to say have you read the book of galatians
27:23because the church at galatia but when you read the whole book you'll see that paul's mad at them
27:29because they think that it's not good enough to be saved it's not good enough to believe on jesus that
27:36they've also got to be circumcised that's what they're teaching you got to be circumcised just like
27:40in the old jewish saying you got to be circumcised and by the way until before world war ii no human
27:47male in america was ever circumcised that ought to tell you something verse chapter 5 verse 1
27:56stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith christ has made us free so who made us free christ
28:01not the bill of rights not the constitution and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage
28:10he's saying look you're free in christ do not get tangled up with in bondage again it's like if you
28:17were uh had you're in jail and somebody let you out and say well i'm gonna go back to jail that's what
28:24sin is doing to you that's what he's saying behold i paul saying to you that if ye be circumcised
28:31christ shall profit you nothing now does that mean that if you're circumcised at christ no what he's
28:37saying is that if you think you have to be circumcised and believe on jesus or today you can
28:43say if you think you've got to repent of your sins and believe on jesus if you think you've got to join
28:47a church and believe on jesus if you think you got to be baptized and believe on jesus christ has done you
28:54nothing that's what today is whatever you think you got to add to salvation it's not there for i
29:05testified again to every man that is circumcised that he is a debtor to do the whole law christ is become
29:12of no effect unto you whosoever you are justified by the law you're falling from grace for we through
29:19the spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith for in christ jesus christ neither circumcision
29:26availeth anything nor circumcision uncircumcision but faith which worketh by love what is he saying
29:33he's saying whether you're circumcised or uncircumcised it doesn't matter it's the faith of christ
29:38it's believing that jesus died on the cross and was rose three days later that's the faith that we need to
29:44have whether you're circumcised or not really doesn't have anything to do with it now i want
29:49you to look at verse four again because people like to take this verse again and they like to twist it
29:55and make it sound like you've lost your salvation christ has become of no effect unto you whosoever you
30:01are are justified by the law you have fallen from grace so falling from grace people like to say see
30:10grace saves you but once you've done these things then you fall from grace and you lose your salvation
30:16it's not what it's saying folks because again we know that nobody can lose their salvation you've got
30:22the down payment inside of you but what it is saying is that if you think you've got to keep the law
30:28you've got to keep the ten commandments you've got to repent of your sins or whatever it is
30:32then what jesus did on the cross has done nothing for you there's no profit there's no grace you've
30:38fallen from god shed his grace on all of us and it's just like let's say you know salvation's a gift
30:46and let's say that somebody says hey there's a gift it's waiting for you at walmart you've got to go
30:52and first do what you got to go there you got to believe that gift is there and you've got to ask for
30:56it but what if you never asked for it and you've fallen from grace if you never asked for that
31:01salvation you have fallen for grace the grace is still there it's available to you but you're not
31:06just like that gift is still there but if you don't ask for it you won't get it um
31:15go to galatians 2 16 probably one page over
31:18knowing that a man is not justified by the works of law what does justified mean justified means just
31:28as if i'd never sinned so there's really two ways to get into heaven one is to never sin
31:37nobody's going to do that the moment you uh reach the age of accountability and you tell a lie or do
31:43whatever you're seeing and you've messed it up okay but the other way is what being look at the
31:50next part but by the faith of jesus christ so people that say that they're justified they're trying to
31:55keep the ten commandment they're trying to repent of their sins they're trying to justify themselves
32:00by the works of the law and it just says no one is justified by that but by faith of jesus christ
32:08by trusting in him even we have believed in jesus that we might be justified by the faith of christ
32:15and not by the works of the law for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified nobody's
32:21going to stand before god and say i got into heaven because that was a good person
32:26folks there's a lot of good people they're going to go to hell they're going to have gone to to
32:31hell and they've gone to church every day they've been baptized they read the bible they they pray they
32:37go to church they're good people they've never said a cuss word in their life they've never take a
32:41drink of alcohol they've never smoked a cigarette they never chewed tobacco they've never done any
32:45drugs and they're going to die and go to hell because they don't have jesus christ
32:49so i don't think that good people go to heaven and bad people go to hell that that's just false
32:56number six don't use the grace card what do i mean by that years ago i preached a sermon about
33:02maxing out the grace card go to first peter two what does the grace card mean
33:07well we're saved by grace grace is what you get that you don't deserve nobody deserves heaven
33:13so it's because of god's grace that we go to heaven we get that second chance
33:21but what people don't get sometimes that they forget about is that the moment you believe
33:25on the lord jesus christ your past present and future sins are washed away
33:31these people that tell you hey well you got to ask for forgiveness
33:33forgiveness every day of your sins folks you're trusting yourself because eventually your mind is
33:40going to go away and you're going to forget so the grace card god's grace he's forgiven us of our
33:48past present and future sins the sins i do next week tomorrow whatever it is they're already washed away

34:04first 16 as free talking about freedom liberty and not using your liberty as a cloak of maliciousness
34:11what is the cloak well you know you've seen these movies where people put on a hood with a you know
34:17like a cloak or something they try to conceal themselves or try to hide themselves uh you've seen
34:24uh movies old movies where in olden times where people would would go out and steal stuff and
34:30they'd put like a hood on with a cloak trying to conceal who they are that's what it's talking about
34:34not to use your liberty your freedom your grace and say hey i'm free uh you know jesus saved me from
34:40my sins i'm gonna go out there and sin all i want that's what he's saying don't use your your liberty
34:46for cloak of maliciousness but as a servants of god don't use it in a wrong way it's better explained in
34:53romans 6. romans 6. romans chapter 6. he's saying don't just you know it's like you've got a credit
35:03card and your credit card is jesus christ and every time you swipe that credit card it's just like you're
35:10paying and he's paying for your sin okay what the bible is telling us is not to use that as an example
35:17and say hey i'm saved i'm just going to keep i know that's wrong i'm gonna keep on doing this it's

39:02so i told you that you can never lose your salvation and people will try to come back at you and they'll
39:07say are you telling me i just live like i want to get away with it no i'm telling you you're gonna be
39:12punished by god you're gonna be beaten down whatever he chooses you're not going to get away
39:18with it folks people are either punished in hell for their sins or they're punished on this earth
39:24and people who believe on christ christians as i'm going to call them they're punished on this earth
39:30because the moment you die it's done with there's no big screen tv that they just bring up your sins
39:37that's silly nowhere in the bible does that talk about but look at hebrews 5 12 5 i've showed you
39:43this many times and it's worth repeating again and have you forgotten because apparently the people
39:50that paul's talking to they have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children
39:57my son despise not the chastening of the lord nor faint when they are rebuked of him for whom the lord
40:05loveth he chasten us and scourges every son whom he receiveth that came out of proverbs 3 11 and 12
40:13so he's saying look don't despise what does despise mean hate when god's punishing you
40:20don't get mad and tell god because you did something to receive that now we may not know what it is
40:28look at verse 7 if you endure chastening what does enduring mean means that you say okay i've been bad
40:33or you know like this guy said i'm gonna be chasing i'm gonna be i know i am because that's
40:38what's gonna happen with you as with sons as what son is he whom the father chastens not so i'm not
40:44gonna go out there and punish another kid that's not my kid that's what he's saying he's saying when
40:49you believe on christ you are his son the bible says for as many as received into them get become
40:55the power to become his son or his daughter if you want to be a gender whatever but that's what the
41:01bible is saying is that when i believe on the lord jesus christ not only do i have the holy spirit
41:05inside of me but i'm going to have the chastening and i am his son
41:12means that guess what god's not going to punish somebody else the unsaved he's not going to punish
41:18him they may have something else that happens to them but he's not going to punish them because of the
41:23things that happen but if you be without chastisement here's the point if you be without chastisement
41:29means that god's not punishing you whereof all are partakers and your bastards are not son now if

45:46unto the spirit of grace what is it saying when you realize that what you're doing is wrong and you
45:51say i'm gonna do this anyway i'm gonna max out that grace card you're crucifying jesus again and again
45:58and again and again and again you're trodden what is trodden means that you're stepping on the foot of
46:05the son of god means that you're treading on his blood even though you know it's wrong what does the bible
46:11say you can be punished worse see when you're saved sin equals punishment when you go out and you believe
46:20on jesus and then you sin guess what you're gonna be punished for it and i'm here to tell you the
46:25person that that is a drunkard or whatever and you show them the gospel and they get saved the thing
46:31that's going to change is it going to be punished for that sin now but willful sin means that you know
46:38it's wrong a more sore punishment means that you're going to get a worse punishment it's just like we used
46:44to tell people when i was in law enforcement ignorance of the law is no excuse you know when you come in
46:53from florida to georgia there's a sign there that says you can't touch your phone right you can't
46:58touch your phone no electronic device well what if you said i didn't know it was the law which is a big
47:03sign there you know what when you know what the judge is going to tell you interest law is no excuse
47:09you've got a right to have the law you've got a right to look up the law and read the law and know

47:38tell you what freedom is go to jeremiah 29 so even though you may be in bondage physically did you
47:48know you can still be free and this is what got me thinking about this look i don't know what's going
47:54to happen in the future but i will tell you that the bible you can read the bible and you can see
48:00things that happened in the past and sometimes they come back what i think about is the captivity of judah
48:07judah because if you know judah and israel split off right after solomon so the nation of judah which
48:16is in the south they weren't as wicked as the nation of israel in the north and god said you're going to
48:24be punished because of the things they did for 70 years you're going to be in captivity and if you
48:31remember in the earlier chapters of jeremiah we don't have time to go there god basically said
48:36when they come and attack your nation give up try to fight against them if you try to run if you
48:45try to get away from them he said just lay your hands up and give up because if you do that you'll
48:51live now most folks will think that's crazy man we got this big army we got this big military and
48:57you're telling us to give up because that's what you know that jeremiah told zedekiah that and what
49:03they do they put him in prison they didn't want to hear what he had to say but look at jeremiah 29
49:09verse 4 these people in captivity means that they couldn't leave they were in bondage they were under
49:15a nation's rule which was the nation of babylon look at jeremiah 29 4 i think about this all the time
49:24you know like again i don't know what's going to happen i don't know if russia or iran or north
49:30korea or all of china i'm going to come in here and take the united states it's probably going to
49:34happen one day and i think about this all the time do you just give up do you try to fight against them

49:48thus said the lord of hosts the god of israel unto all that are carried away captives these are the
49:53people who gave up and said i ain't fighting here throw my weapons on the ground and take me captive
50:00i have calls to be carried away he calls it away who carried away who calls it god did he's doing
50:07it in fact the bible says that he was fighting against judah the whole time it was his arm
50:13unto babylon build ye houses and what dwell in them he's saying once you build a house
50:20you can live in it now you know back in when they were in egypt for 400 years they built houses and all
50:26kinds of stuff and they didn't have anything to do with it because they were slaves so he's making it
50:29clear that you will live in the house you build plant gardens and eat the fruit of them so whatever
50:34you plant you'll be able to eat that's freedom take you wives and begat sons and daughters and take you
50:41wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands that they may bear sons and daughters that
50:45you may be increased there and not diminished he's saying look i want you to be fruitful and multiply
50:52he said not only that you know you don't have when you have these arranged marriages where they say
50:58hey you're going to marry this guy when you turn 18 16 whatever it is there's no freedom there and
51:04what he's saying is look take your wives let your husband your you know let your your your children
51:11marry other people your sons your daughters take husbands all these things that and then bear
51:17other children that you may not be diminished look at verse 7 and seek the peace of the city
51:22whether i have caused you to become carried away captives and praying to the lord for it for in the
51:29peace thereof you shall have peace what is he saying you're going to have peace you're going to have freedom
51:36you're going to have liberty even though you can't leave that area you can live like you want to
51:42do as long as they seek the peace let's say the lord of hosts the god of israel let not your prophets
51:49and your diviners that be the midst of you deceive you now the hearken to your dreams which you have
51:55caused to be dreamed for they've prophesied falsely unto you in my name i have not sent them saith the
52:01lord so there's a lot of people at that time were saying no jeremiah's wrong he's wrong in what he's
52:07saying and they put him in jail for it they put him in prison for it but guess what god said i
52:12didn't send those people only person i'm speaking to is jeremiah because jeremiah came back to god
52:17and said god they're saying something different he said i never spoke to them they're false prophets
52:23and what i want you to understand is that your freedom does not come from the bill of rights you
52:29may think it does your freedom does not come from the constitution and look i know there's a lot of
52:35people that died for things they believed and i'm not trying to diminish that or whatever but what i
52:40will tell you is that whether you're living in this country or living in another country or whatever
52:46you're doing your freedom just like the people in judah or in babylon at that time being taken away by
52:53babylon their freedom came from the lord nothing else and that's where our freedom no matter what happens
52:59to them to us you know you see daniel daniel had the freedom of doing all these things even though he's in
53:05captivity he still did what he was able to do things and flourish as number two guy right under the king
53:15and we need to understand that just because that's us maybe in the future that our liberty is only
53:22through jesus first the liberty that we won't go to hell number two a literal liberty of being able to
53:30do doesn't mean that we're all going to live someone's going to be killed for christ the bible
