00:00so the title of the sermon today is there is no you in salvation there's no
00:06you in salvation so the word salvation there's not a letter you in it what I'm
00:10really talking about is there's no you in it and I've got six points of where
00:15people say that you have something to do with your salvation and we're just
00:20going to read through the Bible and prove that they're wrong so the first
00:23I want you to go to Galatians 1 Galatians chapter 1 there is no you in salvation
00:34so in Galatians 1 verse 6 I marvel not I marvel that you are soon removed from him
00:48that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel which is not another
00:55there be some that trouble you that would pervert the gospel of Christ so there's
01:00only one gospel the word gospel itself means good news so there's only one
01:06gospel and he's saying that you think it's another gospel but it's not really
01:09another gospel it's just a twisting of the gospel but though we or an angel from
01:16heaven preach any other gospel unto you then that which we have preached unto you
01:23let him be a curse so anybody that preaches a different gospel and I've got six
01:28different gospels that people try to preach the Bible says let him be a curse
01:34means basically let him go to hell as we said before to say I now again if any man
01:41preach any other gospel unto you that ye have received let him be a curse for do I
01:48now persuade men or God or do I seek to please men for fight yet please men I
01:55should not be the servant of Christ and what he's talking about is in the church
02:00of Galatia they were trying to add to salvation they'll send yeah you got to
02:04believe on Christ but you got to be circumcised you got to do something else
02:07you got to go by the ten commandments you got to go by God's law for salvation
02:12and that's what Paul was saying he's saying I can't believe that me being
02:17removed from there so soon you've gone to another gospel other than what we
02:22preached and people are doing that today another gospel is not really another
02:27gospel but it's an imposter a fake gospel
02:30so the reason for this sermon is is that if you are involved in the salvation
02:37process mean that you have to be to do or stop doing something then it is
02:44considered another gospel so the first one and you probably figured this is the
02:49first one repent of your sins repent of your sin that's the point number one you
02:54hear that all the time you got to turn from your sins to the Savior you got to
02:58clean up your life the Holy Spirit cannot occupy a dirty soul you got they do
03:03a 180 you got to turn over a new leaf you've got to change your life to a new
03:10life there has to be a change in you folks I've heard this all this time and
03:14when you just nail people down to it you ask them hey are you telling me that I
03:20got to quit sinning to be saved and then they'll say no well you don't have to
03:24quit sinning you just got to be willing to want to stop sinning
03:28folks that's not what the Bible says go to Genesis 6
03:31now the King James Bible which is what we use uses the word repent
03:38r-e-p-n-t 105 times there's people that good people repenting bad people
03:45repenting you have Judas Iscariot he repents of his sins he hangs himself he
03:50goes to hell but what the word repent means is real simple
03:54so sometimes in the Bible we go to the first time that is used and invert
04:00chapter 6 of Genesis verse 6 we see the first time the word repent is being used
04:07and what does it say look at 6 Genesis 6 6 and it repenteth repented I'm sorry the
04:15Lord that he had made man on the earth and it grieved him at his heart and the
04:20Lord said I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth both
04:24man and beast and the creeping things and the fowls of the air and it repenteth me
04:30that I have made them so God is repenting the first time we see the word repent
04:35use is God the Lord is repenting that he made man that he made anything why because we
04:44see right before uh Noah gets on the ark and brings his family that people were wicked and
04:52they repented God that he had done that not that God doesn't understand what's going on
04:58it's because man changed what God had to do I want you to understand that God understands
05:03everything so 105 times the word repent is used in the King James Bible 35 times is by who the Lord
05:12so we can assume by that name the word repent means what it does can't be changing your sin
05:19because I can tell you you can go to different websites of like the Southern Baptist Convention
05:25and you know what they'll say they'll say a true repentance is stop sinning or wanting to stop sin
05:30folks that's not what that means word repentance means to change your mind and that's what God did he
05:36was going to change his mind about making man on this earth uh go to Luke 15
05:43Luke chapter 15
05:48and this is probably the one that irritates me the most because people just twist the Bible and they
05:56talk about changing your life you do there has to be something that changes
06:00and look there's good Christian people that I believe are saved that get caught up in this
06:09garbage but it's a different gospel it's another gospel look at Luke 15 I've heard people try to twist
06:17this is a parable now just understand any parable in the Bible uh is a situation that we don't need to
06:24use this doctrine because it's a story that Jesus uses to explain something and a parable is just
06:33something that is physical that we can understand to understand spiritual things that's all it is
06:38so look at uh Luke 15 1 they then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners to hear him
06:48and the pharisees and scribes murmured saying this man receiveth sinners and eateth with them
06:53and he spake this parable unto them saying what man of you having a hundred sheep if he lose one of
07:00them does not leave the 99 in the wilderness and go after look at the next part that which is lost
07:07so the idea is that you have a hundred sheep and one sheep is lost and you leave the 99 and
07:13there's been plenty of sermons preached this but they don't understand the parable it's not a let's
07:18keep reading until he find it so there's one sheep that's lost in the woods and he leads the 99 to go
07:24find out one lost when he had found it he left it on his shoulders rejoicing and when he cometh home
07:31he calleth together his friends and neighbors saying unto them rejoice with me for i found my sheep which
07:38was lost
07:39i saying to you that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth more than 99 and just
07:50persons which need no repentance so most people take that last part and say one sinner that repented
07:55from their sins because they take the word sin and repent and they put them together folks it's not
08:00what it's talking about it's talking about it's talking about a lost sheep a lost person that you
08:05leave the 99 of this 99 that's saved and go find that one lost person that one lost sheep and the
08:13repenting is not repenting of your sins it's changing what they believe to be what they believe to be
08:19salvation repenting of their sins or some of these other five things i'll talk about that's what the
08:24repentance is is changing your mind about salvation look at the next part either that woman having 10
08:32pieces of silver so now we have a lady she's got 10 pieces of silver she lose one piece so she's got
08:38nine and she lost that one piece does not a candle and sweep the house and diligently lead till she find
08:44it and when she had found it she called her friends and her neighbors together saying rejoice with me for
08:50i found the peace at which i had lost again that peace was lost i found it likewise i say to you this
08:59is how jesus is comparing it there is joy in the presence of angels of god over one sinner that
09:07repenteth well for them to be in there with the angels they have to be saved right so it's not about
09:12them changing their life and fixing their life what it is is a lost person believing on christ and they
09:19changed their mind of what they whatever it is they think they got to be a person or whatever
09:24that's what it's talking about has nothing to do with them repenting of their sins just because you
09:29see the word sin and repent in the same verse or the same words does not mean that that's what it's
09:35talking about go to jonah you say jonah isn't that about a big fish swallowing a person yeah but god's word
09:45is so great that we can always find the definition of a word
09:52and jonah sometimes hard to find it's right before right after obadiah right before micah it's a very
10:00small book so just to let you know that the story of jonah is what god tells jonah go preach at
10:07nineveh he doesn't want to because it's a wicked city nineveh has been killing the the hebrews for years
10:14and he's saying look i don't care to he refuses to that he gets on a boat they throw him off the
10:20boat the whale swallows him he stays in the center of the whale for three days and three nights just
10:24like jesus stayed in the center of the earth for three days and three nights the whale spits him
10:29out he finally goes to nineveh and preaches to him and tells him hey if you don't fix things in 40
10:35days god's going to destroy you so go down to verse nine of chapter three jonah three nine
10:41there's two words that we can define from the bible and look i just want to think that god
10:47since he created everything he created language maybe he knows better of what these words mean than
10:52we do uh because you can pick up a dictionary and you look up the word repent and it's probably
10:57going to say something about changing your mind about sinning i don't know i don't care i'm going
11:02to go with the word of god look at jonah three nine who can tell if god will turn and repent
11:10so the word repent is defined right there and it's called what turning not turning from your sin
11:17because look at the next part away from his fierce anger that we perish not so he's saying look if you
11:23fix the things in nineveh who knows god may not decide to destroy you now this is talking about a
11:30nation it's not talking about a personal salvation look at verse 10 and god saw their works
11:37works that they turn from their evil way so now we can define the what what the word works
11:45means what turning from your evil way well works don't save you my friend
11:52uh so go to uh john 20 john 20
12:00well before you go there go to acts three so years ago i had a guy he tried to show me
12:12that the word you know repent of your sins is in the bible i said please show me he pulled up he
12:18grabbed my bible out of my hand and he showed me in acts three now look uh years ago i had a friend
12:27of mine he's a dear friend of mine i believe he's saved but he was talking at a funeral
12:35about his mother and i got very sad at the funeral not because of the person in the box because i knew
12:42she was saved but because of the gospel that he gave and the gospel was was that you had to turn a 180
12:49so you're walking this way and you're a sinner and you turn a 180 and you got to fix the things in
12:54your life to be saved folks that's not in the bible and look this is a dear friend of mine and i left the
13:01funeral uh happy that the person was in heaven but sad that somebody was listening in the audience and
13:08said oh i gotta fix what's wrong in my life to be saved another gospel folks and look god hates it when
13:15people preach it another gospel it just made me sad look at uh acts three this is the verse that
13:24somebody else showed me and let's just take this in context you know what happened the people the the
13:31the the the jews at the time whatever you want to call them who put jesus on the cross the jews did
13:38and guess what peter is preaching to the jews look at verse 11 of three and as a lame man which was
13:45healed held peter and john and all the people ran together unto the in the porch that is called
13:52solomon's great wandering and when peter saw it he answered unto the people ye men of israel why marvel
13:58at this so they're confused how peter and john healed this man he's lame he can't walk and he does
14:04and peter says why are you marveling at this you know the word marvel comes from marvelous it just
14:10means why are you confused about this or why look you earnestly on us as though by our own power or
14:17holiness we have made this man to walk he's saying look it's not by our power you're confused about this
14:22the god of abraham and of isaac and of jacob the god of our fathers has glorified his son jesus
14:31who you delivered up and denied him in the presence of pilot when he was determined to let him go but
14:38you denied the holy one and the just and desired a murderer to be granted unto you and killed the
14:45prince of life whom god has raised from the dead whereof we are witnesses he's saying look you took
14:53jesus christ who was the savior and you put him on the cross and instead of uh you know you released a
15:00murderer named barabbas he should have been on the cross taking the punishment jesus who had had no
15:05sin whatsoever and you let the guy that go and you put jesus on the cross and his name through faith
15:14in his name have made this man strong whom you see and know yea the faith which is by him has given
15:21him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all and now brethren i want that through your
15:27ignorance you did it as did also your rulers but those things which god before had showed you by
15:34the mouth of all his prophets that christ should suffer he is so fulfilled here's the verse that
15:40they try to put number 19 repent ye therefore
15:43and be converted that your sins may be blotted out when the times are refreshing that shall come for the
15:52presence of the lord folks just simple english if there's a comma you pause okay so the bible says
15:59repent ye therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out they just try to jam repent that
16:07your sins may be blotted out they take out the part and be converted what is it saying he's saying
16:14well let's go to verse 13 that they put jesus on the cross the holy one the savior you killed the prince
16:23of life he's saying repent ye of that you did it in ignorance you did it in stupidity you didn't know
16:30that he was the savior if you change your mind and realize that he is the savior guess what you'll be
16:36converted and guess what when you believe on the lord jesus christ your sins are blotted out
16:41that's what it's saying it has nothing to do with repenting of your sins turn over a new leaf
16:47doing a 180 all that stuff folks go to john 20 now
16:51we just went through wednesday the whole book of john and if you remember the book of john
16:57what do you remember 101 times right 101 times the word believe believe believe believe believe it
17:05believe it believe it believe it and john 20 verse 30
17:10and many other signs truly did jesus in the presence of his disciples which are not written in this book
17:18but these are written that you might believe that jesus is the christ the son of god
17:25and that believing we might have life through his name so the moment that we believe on the lord
17:33jesus christ we have life everlasting life folks this verse 20 or 31 of chapter 20 is the last time
17:40the word believes used and guess what is 101 times and it's what i just asked people if repenting of
17:47your sins is part of salvation and the book of john is the book of salvation we just saw that
17:54through the inspiration of the holy spirit saying that this is a book that god wrote that you might
17:59believe and by believing you have everlasting life means that this book has the word believe in it more
18:05than any other one it is a book that god chose for people to understand as john 3 16 in it
18:11how many times of repent surely it's in there once zero zero times because repenting of your sins is not
18:20not necessary for salvation
18:22the next thing i hear about another gospel is giving your life to christ
18:30so giving your life to christ is always a repackaging of repenting of your sins because it's you doing
18:37something for salvation
18:39um
18:41if you will go to john 10
18:43now look you may not like me saying this but this is the billy graham ministry this is what billy graham
18:50preached
18:51was giving your life to christ you can look it up yourself you can go to old youtube videos of billy graham
18:57he's burning in hell i'll just tell you that
18:59now look uh if somebody went to a billy graham crusade and they went down to the front and got saved
19:05i'm not saying they're not saved because they might have got a baptist preacher that preached the gospel
19:09but i'm telling you that billy graham is burning in hell because never ever ever never ever ever will
19:15you ever hear him say all you have to do is believe on the lord jesus christ period it's always something
19:19of it
19:20giving your life turn over a new leaf repenting of your sins i've listened to him folks
19:26you say well you don't you can't say that he's the america's pastor
19:30well that's not a good thing to say
19:32i do hear him say this i heard him say that he's comfortable in a mormon church
19:36he's comfortable in a catholic church he you know he says that muslims can be saved all they
19:42have to do is follow the light that they have folks you have to follow jesus christ by believing
19:47in him you can't just follow muhammad or believe in some other allah or whoever it is you've got to
19:53put your trust in the lord jesus christ period he's a liar look at john 10
19:58i want to give my life to christ folks
20:03christ gave his life for me and you
20:06and if you remember when we talked about uh memorializing
20:11on memorial day the sermon was about this john 10
20:15verse 7
20:16then jesus said unto them
20:18verily verily i said you i am the door of the sheep
20:21all that ever came before me are thieves and robbers
20:25but the sheep did not hear them so uh hinduism claims to be the oldest religion
20:31well that's what jesus is talking about right there
20:33they're robbers and thieves
20:35if you try to go in some other way
20:37i'm the door by me if any man enter in he shall be saved
20:42and shall go in and out of the fine and find pasture
20:46the thief cometh not
20:47but for to steal and to kill and to destroy
20:50i'm come that they might have life and they might have it more abundantly
20:54talking about what we're talking about everlasting life
20:58i am the good shepherd the good shepherd give his life
21:04for the sheep
21:06i don't give my life to christ he gave his life for me
21:10but he that is a hireling and not the shepherd
21:13who's on the shepherd or not
21:16see the wolf coming and he leaveth the sheep
21:18and fleeth and the wolf catches him
21:20and scattereth the sheep the hireling fleeth because he is an hireling
21:25and not careth and careth not for the sheep
21:28i am the good shepherd and know my sheep
21:31and am known of mine
21:32as the father knoweth me
21:34even so know i the father
21:37and lay down my life for the sheep
21:39and other sheep have i which are not of this fold
21:43them also i must bring in
21:45and they shall hear my voice
21:47and there shall be one fold and one shepherd
21:50therefore does my father love me
21:52because i lay down my life
21:53that i might take it again
21:55no man taketh away from me
21:57but i lay it down to myself
21:59i have power to lay it down
22:02and i have power to take it again
22:05this commandment i have received of my father
22:08so it's clear that jesus gave his life for us
22:13he didn't have to
22:15go to john 6

22:22he gave his life for us
22:25we talked about this verse again
22:29on memorial day
22:31look at john 15 12
22:33this is my commandment that you love one another as i have loved you
22:39greater love hath no man than this
22:42that a man lay down his life for his friends
22:45ye are my friends
22:46if you do whatsoever i command you
22:48henceforth i call you not servants
22:51for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth
22:53but i have called you friends
22:55for all things that i have heard of my father
22:57i have made known unto you
22:59ye have not chosen me
23:01but i have chosen you
23:02and ordained you
23:04that ye should go and bring forth fruit
23:06and that your fruit should remain
23:09that whatsoever you ask
23:10my father my name
23:12he may give it to you
23:14these things i command you
23:15that you love one another
23:16so again he says
23:17i lay down my life
23:19to you
23:20no greater love
23:22as another man
23:23that lays down his life for another
23:25and we talked about that
23:26in memorial day
23:27that
23:27that was the day that people
23:29were killed
23:31for the united states
23:32actually started out
23:35a decoration day
23:36during the civil war
23:37but anyway

24:25a servant of the high priest

24:41and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels

24:46but then how shall the scriptures be fulfilled

24:51you're trying to protect me

25:00the scriptures must be fulfilled

26:20means you believe in the death
26:22burial and resurrection
26:23you shall be saved
26:24well all these stupid bunks here
26:27let me show you what they say
26:28i'll start with the most silliest
26:32the living bible

27:12so they're saying that

27:17it's called lordship salvation
27:18this is the new american standard
27:21you know i was told
27:22years ago
27:23by people that went to seminary
27:24that this is the best
27:25greek version of the bible
27:27there's no one better than this
27:29well that's true

27:30that if you confess with your mouth
27:32jesus as lord
27:34and believe in your heart
27:35that god raised him from the dead

27:37you shall be saved
27:39no i don't have to do that
27:41it's a lot easier than that

27:46that you confess with your mouth

27:51you don't have to confess to anybody
27:53that jesus is lord

28:03the problem with that
28:05is if you keep reading the bible
28:06you'll see
28:07look at verse 10
28:08for with the heart
28:09man believeth unto righteousness

28:12confession is made unto salvation
28:13well you're not confessing
28:15that jesus is lord
28:16you're confessing to the lord jesus
28:19look
28:20they just
28:21put in one little word
28:22and it just changes things
28:24a different salvation
28:27for the scripture says
28:28whosoever believeth on him
28:29shall not be ashamed
28:31for there's no difference
28:32between the jew and the greek
28:33for the same lord over all
28:34is rich unto all
28:35that call upon him
28:36for whosoever shall call upon
28:38the name of the lord
28:38shall be saved
28:39so the bible is clear
28:41this is salvation
28:41in a nutshell folks
28:43that you believe
28:44that jesus died on the cross
28:45was buried
28:46and rose three days later
28:48and once you believe that
28:50you call out to him
28:51and you tell him that
28:52period
28:53and you shall be saved
28:54the next one is
28:57you have to be baptized
28:58to be saved
28:59you know this church
29:00is a baptist church
29:01we're surrounded by
29:02a baptist church
29:03but that does not mean
29:05anything about baptism
29:07you have people
29:08that you'll ask them
29:09hey
29:10if you died today
29:11you're 100% sure
29:12you go to heaven
29:12yeah I've been baptized
29:13okay
29:15but you didn't answer
29:16the question
29:17or you'll say
29:19hey that person's
29:20been baptized before
29:21look
29:21I understand what
29:22they're saying
29:23but what they're not
29:24what they're missing is
29:25is something very simple
29:27go to ephesians 5
29:28it's great to be baptized
29:32but if you're lost
29:34and baptized
29:35all you're going to do
29:37is go to hell wet

29:41is for you to believe

29:43and then you're to be

30:31being sanctified
30:32by being dunked

30:37with the washing
30:37of water

30:38next word
30:39by the word
30:40so the bible
30:42is talking about

30:43the words of jesus christ
30:45is what's washing

31:07it's a picture

31:12is by believing

31:15is a picture

31:17burial
31:18and resurrection
